The Rimu Hut - Cosy Bush Escape

A tramping-style A-frame chalet nestled against rimu trees on the edge of a stunning 15-acre native forest block close to the Hunua Ranges in rural South Auckland. Built by the owners using macrocarpa timber grown on the property, it was intended to be a place where their grandchildren could enjoy sleepovers in the forest and afternoon adventures. They soon realised though, that such a special place should be shared so they decided to make it available to others. Cosy in winter, cool in summer!

We absolutely love living here and thought we would like to share one of our favourite places with others. We offer a beautiful one-bedroom cottage with a lovely outdoor wood fire tub and a romantic little area with a firepit, nestled in a natural setting with views of a stream, native bush and native birds. Four Huia

A light space with all day sun. Two decks allow chilling with a cuppa or a glass of wine; one has a peak of the sea the other one to a private garden. Separate bedroom, bathroom, living area incl. smart TV and a kitchenette. The photos are not our best work because we hopeless photographers! 1 km from the main village Oneroa, 2km from ferry and closest sandy beach, Little Oneroa, with dairy and takeaways is 500m. Electric blanky in winter for snuggling up!
