This is an exclusive Airbnb tour into an amazing bird sanctuary that just so happens to have one of Auckland's favourite surf beach's, campgrounds and walking trails! Come with me as I show you my 'back yard'. No really, I literally grew up here. My father was the Park Ranger here for over 30years, and lucky us got to live and breath Tawharanui as much as we wanted! This evening tour is a chance to hear and maybe even see the elusive nocturnal bird of New Zealand.... The Northern Brown Kiwi!! Bring: Your lovely selves and a quiet night time voice as to not scare these beautiful birds away. If you have one; a red lighted torch / head torch. If not, no worries as I have spare. Learn about life for the locals in Auckland - all from the comfort of an electric bike. Escape the tourist trail and zip around the city’s beautiful waterfront and it's cool central neighborhoods on this 2.5 hour electric bike guided tour. Find out where the locals go to socialize and to enjoy the beautiful natural environment in and around our city. Starting from the Pullman Hotel Auckland (see the Notes and Meeting Location on where to find us), we'll ride up a nearby cycleway to check out Karangahape Road (known as "K Road" by the locals) - learning about its edgy past and promising future. Then it's on to Ponsonby - one of the best places to eat, drink and shop in Auckland. We'll check out some other local neighbourhoods too, before heading back down to sea level, to cruise along the waterfront and check out the delights of Wynyard Quarter and the Viaduct. And at the end of the tour, I'll give you a list of my favourite cafes, restaurants and bars around the central city - many of which we'll have cycled past! Plenty of options for you to try out during the rest of your stay in this amazing city. The Piha Explorer gives you get the freedom to set your own pace and do as you please, as we take you deep inside the remote wilderness of the Auckland Region. There is no fixed time schedule to follow, and no tour guide to keep up with. Once we pick you up, enjoy a 45 -minute scenic drive to Piha Beach while getting to know your guide and fellow explorers. You will also learn about the local Piha area and wildlife and can use this time to ask your guide any questions you may have about Piha and what to expect. We also find ourselves talking about New Zealand history, culture, music and travel and use this time to create a relaxed and social atmosphere for everyone on the trip to get to know one another ( if you want to that is). After we arrive at Piha, you will join a tiki tour that is designed to help you learn the surrounding area. Your guide will provide you with a map and information on Piha, along with recommendations on how to maximise your time and see all the sights. Following your guide's recommendations, you'll hike through native rainforest, discover waterfalls, lava caves and the famous Piha black sand beach. Surfing lessons are also available if the conditions are right. Your guide will be based in Piha and contactable at all times. Other things to note Please dress to the weather conditions and wear good walking shoes. No food or drinks provided but you can dine at the Piha cafe or grab a snack from the Piha store. Bring swim gear if you want to swim!

An amazing day at the beach, learning to surf! Well meet up at the beach lookout and then make our way to the beach just 5 min away Once at the beach well give you an overview of the area, beaches and explain the conditions of the day =) Then you'll get your wetsuit, surfboard and we with run through a great safety talk on surfing. Once safety is done we get right into the fun of surfing! Ill then teach you about the waves, your surfboard and controlling it in the water Correct positioning, paddling and timing to catch that wave Then into the popup, surfing stance and surfing down the wave Once you've got the basics we hit the water and are right there with you coaching you through each and every wave You'll be improving every attempt riding waves towards the beach and down the line of the wave. Proper surfing! Once your up and riding waves we'll quickly move into surfing down the wave and show you how to go faster and turn your surfboard on the wave! We will get some photos and capture you on a wave! After this we'll have a short break, to grab a drink, rest and soak up the sun on the beach! Then you can carry on surfing after your lesson for another 2 hours, practicing what you just learnt to master the techniques. The whole beach and surfing experience is about 4.5 hours and is an amazing time from beginning to end

We will meet at the bottom of Mount Eden/ Maungawhau and walk up the dormant volcano which happens to have spectacular views of the city of Auckland, Rangitoto Island and the Waitakere Ranges. I will show you some of my favourite spots along the volcano while capturing beautiful images of you on our walk up (20 minutes). At the top, you will encounter a panoramic view of the city where I will snap some more shots for your memories. Throughout the experience, I will give you some fun facts on the volcano and the city of Auckland. I can provide recommendations on request, for local places for lunch/dinner and suggestions for activities to do in and outside the city. At the end of the tour, I will provide you with 25 professionally edited photos within two weeks. Other things to note I am happy to get creative with you and take photo's wherever you get inspired along our walk! This experience depends on the weather!
