Take the stairs down from the wrap around porch to the overlook to see a breathtaking natural scene then take just a few more stairs down to the dome rock house to the left which leads to a small trail to see the gorge. More trails behind the owner's cabin lead to even more natural rock and water features.

Nature abounds, If hiking, horseback riding, four wheeling or just relaxing is what you crave, then this is the place for you! The property is 24 acres, sitting on the edge of Big South Fork National Park. The front yard is big enough for games. When you are through for the day and after enjoying the enclosed hot tub/pool inside, go outside and enjoy the fire pit area. Horses welcome, small pasture area, no barn. The Ranger's Retreat (RR) cabin by Big South Fork will give you all the privacy you want and still convenient to town for the essentials. All of this plus with one of the Southeasts' premier National Park area's in your backyard. The RR cabin is a genuine log cabin made of real white pine logs. It features 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room and a loft. The RR cabin is great for couples, but the loft with 2 twin beds provides room for a total of 4. Dog friendly (sorry no cats).

A Little Closer to Heaven Primitive Tree house

This little tree house is primitive with no electricity and no water but has a bath house nearby. This is tent camping in a tree house. Located behind the historic R.M. Brooks Store, it is the perfect place to find peace and beauty . Perfect for hikers. Rest in the huge branches of this nearly 100 year old Oak Tree. A Queen bed awaits you for your restful nights sleep. Underneath you can picnic at the table or swing in the swing that hangs below. This is the perfect place to unplug.

Relax with friends or family at this peaceful, private retreat. The Old Farmhouse Lodge is a large 2600 square foot beautiful country style home with a large kitchen and dining room and spacious, comfortable bedrooms. The property itself is set up for outside activities by offering a place to play softball or other games such as horseshoes , cornhole or hiking. Relax on the front porch or around the fire pit, wood or gas. Bring your fishing poles and fish the beautiful stocked pond.

Cozy Cabin

Cozy two bedroom cabin with unobstructed views of the mountains. On the back deck there is a hot tub and a gas grill. Near Big South Fork and Historic Rugby. 3 mile hike from the cabin to the river round-trip. Or drive to the trailhead and hike half a mile to the river. Come here to unwind and de-stress. Totally peaceful :-) My favorite time of year is winter at the cabin. Nothing like sitting in the hot tub and looking out over the frosty trees and mountains!

Historic year-round cabin along lakeshore w/dock

The lake home was built in the early 1930's to house the engineers constructing the entire TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) system that created dams and hydro-electric power throughout the region. It also provided jobs that helped with employment during the Great Depression. A wonderful addition we made recently was a dock, which remains in the water from sometime in March until late October. Please note this is an old, quaint home. It has its quirks.

Where you can access Brimstone, Windrock or ride over and check out Brushy Mountain Prison. Enjoy the beautiful Frozen Head State Park, which this property boards it. Morgan county has some great craft breweries MoCo Brewing Project, Lilly Pad Hopyard Brewery and The Beer Barn.
