Sit back and relax – in this quiet, stylish accommodation with its own garden, sauna and hot tub and direct access to the hiking trails in the beautiful Harz Mountains. The colorful city of Wernigerode with its cultural and culinary offerings and the beautiful half-timbered houses is within walking distance (about 10 to 15 minutes). Our vacation home was completed in the summer of 2025 and offers every comfort (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, underfloor heating, fireplace, open kitchen/dining area).

The apartment (three rooms) of about 80 square meters is in a quiet side street of Wernigerode. It has a nice balcony of about 15 square meters (furnished). The view from there is extensive. The rooms of the apartment are bright and filled with light. The furnishings are comfortable and modern. Adjacent is a garden with barbecue facilities. Parking spaces are available at the house. The house can be completely rented for you and your loved ones to spend a cross-generational vacation.

The large living/cooking area is spacious and invites you to linger. You can reach the apartment via a metal staircase.

Furthermore, Schmatzfeld is equipped with bike paths in all directions. It is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts. Long leisurely walks are also possible on the surrounding dirt roads.

FW Gustav - the perfect base for your Harz vacation

The apartment is located on the 1st floor of an old farmhouse. The farm, which used to be completely closed, was decisively shaped by Gustav Neuhoff, the hostess's grandfather. Hence the name FW Gustav. The nearest shops are in Derenburg, 6 km away. Heudeber is a quiet village, but the nearby A36 offers quick connections to the highlights of the Harz Mountains. Wernigerode, Halberstadt, Quedlinburg and Goslar can be reached in about 25 minutes.
