Get back to nature at Stella Matutina Farm’s Moon Flower Yurt. Located on a 10 acre , working Biodynamic farm in the heart of the Waterloo Recreation Area. The yurt sits in its own private space in the forest. Visit the farm animals, historic barn and vegetable gardens. Fire pit, outhouse with compost toilet, outdoor solar shower, and woodstove in the yurt. Visit the quaint towns of Grass Lake and Chelsea or go swimming in one of several nearby lakes. Mountain bike and hiking trails close by.

Perched on a bluff overlooking the Huron river and the Ann Arbor cityscape beyond, it feels removed but that’s the beauty of it: it’s a 5 minute walk to Kerrytown and the farmers market, 10 min to downtown, 5-min Uber to the big house. Argo park and river trails are your back yard!

This is a working farm with hands-on learning of organic gardening practices, market gardening, farmers market and CSA prep and sales, as well as sheep husbandry, including assisting with lamb births and herding my hardy pastured sheep flock. Other hands-on learning experiences include sourdough bread and jam making. You will leave with increased knowledge of sustainable agriculture and a feeling of being at one with the earth.
