Vallakot Farm Guesthouse is a small guesthouse, located in Northeast Iceland in the middle of the Diamond circle. It is situated in a green and peaceful valley called Reykjadalur and the village Laugar is only a few kilometers away with a restaurant, grocery shop, a swimming pool and other amenities. Vallakot Farm is both a farm and a guesthouse and a place that has been in the family for decades. We have three studio apartments built in 2017 and a cabin that we finished renovate in June 2023.

Sænautasel gives you a opportunity to experience living as people did in the olden days in Iceland. You should therefore be aware that there is no electricity. Everybody is sleeping in “Baðstofan”, which the space over the kitchen is called in Icelandic. Breakfast and/or Dinner is available for extra charge. You need to book this in advance at least 2 days prior. If you decide to book 2 nights you should be aware that Sænautasel functions as a guided museum from 12-17 PM.

The cottage Sólsetur (Sunset) is 25 square meters, built 2016-2017. The cottage has one bedroom with two beds and a sleepingcouch for two in the livingroom. The kitchen is fully equiped. A little cabin built in year 2015 in an amazing location in the wonderful Lake Myvatn area. Surrounded by nature and birdlife you'll feel right at home in our cozy cabin, with a kitchen, queen size bed, full bathroom and a big hot tub. Self catering. Hot tub access. Beautiful views only few steps from the cabin. The pseudo craters in the north and the wetland and the mountains in the south and east.
