Gorgeous Serenity in the City with Views near Haight Ashbury Golden Gate Park

Settle into this amazing, light filled, stunning old San Francisco Victorian that I have called home for 23 years. With incredible south facing city and park views, relax in the open space of a large great room! Filled with character, this completely renovated Victorian has 118 years of history and stories to tell. We are centrally located to the culinary delights of NOPA and the Haight Ashbury / Cole Valley neighborhoods and perfect for walking and exploring. Take a stroll or go for a run in Golden Gate Park (two blocks away) and don’t forget to check out Ocean beach at the far end of the park. Let us know if you have special requests, we would love to customize your stay, offer recommendations of restaurants to visit or share the location of many great hikes or places of interest to visit here in San Francisco or just outside the city. Our available three bedrooms in the flat are great fit for families and groups up to 6 adults (2 per bed in queen size beds). The décor of our home is one of a kind in terms of family heirlooms, vintage décor, collectibles and amenities gathered from our travels though out the world including from trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Columbia, Peru, Argentina, India, Nepal, Morocco and Egypt and here in the US including San Francisco. If you love to cook, we have a gourmet kitchen with professional appliances (Wolf and Subzero) and a large dining table that comfortably sits 6 people. The entire flat is light filled and airy. This entire building was meticulously renovated and detailed by me and various craftsmen over the course of my 23 years living here and features a 700 square foot south facing great room with incredible city views of the park and twin peaks. Each room has been appointed with hotel quality mattresses and bedding and enough closet space for you to make yourself at home. Both bathrooms have been fully renovated and the entire home features radiant floor heating and dual pane windows to keep you warm on those chilly SF nights. Our home is stocked with books, games, playing cards and is a perfect place to unwind and relax with friends and family. Nest Learning Thermostats keep the house at a perfect temperature. A washer & dryer in the flat are available for your use. Bedrooms - Bedroom #1: Is one of two front bedrooms, features a queen wrought iron bed with a spacious dresser. The closet has stacked double hanging rods for tons of storage space. This room has a bay window looking out to St. Ignatius Church. Bedroom #2: Is the second of two front bedrooms and features an armoires as well as a large closet and a queen size upholstered bed. This bedroom also has views of St. Ignatius church. This bedroom features a chandelier original to the house. Bedroom #3: Is nestled in the interior of the house which makes it extra cozy and has two large closets, a large dresser and queen size upholstered bed. The Bathrooms - The first bathroom features a modern tub/shower, beautiful porcelain subway tile and herringbone bathroom floors. There is plenty of storage in the custom cabinets and vanity. There is plenty of hot water for a hot shower or relaxing soak in the tub. The second bathroom features a large shower with porcelain subway tile and herringbone floors. There is plenty of water pressure in this shower! Both bathrooms have organic and natural brand shampoos, conditioners and body washes. The Kitchen - The kitchen is well equipped with chef grade All-clad and Le Creuset pots and pans, Global chef’s knives and Laguiole steak knifes and utensils and serving sets. For coffee drinkers there is a burr grinder and insulated stainless steel French press. For tea drinkers a loose leaf tea pot. Parking - I am often asked if I have parking available in my garage. Unfortunately I do not as I keep my personal vehicle and a few motorcycles that I use on a regular basis inside and unfortunately there is no additional room. Street parking in the neighborhood is allowed at night and on the weekends. Residential parking permits for residents are required between the hours of 8am to 6pm However non resident may park during those hours for up to 2 hours. It has been my experience that parking enforcement does not begin until 930 am and ends by 330 pm however this is not guaranteed. Given a two hour allotment for non residents you are usually safe to park up to about 10 am and safe to park after 330pm with out getting a ticket or two hours during those posted permit times. Non residents may park on Fulton street west of Stanyan street which is about 2 block from my home. This street requires no permits however be mindful of the once a week street cleaning that takes place for a few hours and is posted on street signs along Fulton street. Amenities We have wifi and a number of amenities to make sure your stay is a wonderful one. I provide fresh whole local boutique coffee beans and an assortment of teas We provide organic laundry detergents and softeners for your stay as well. The unit features a smart TV with guest accounts for Netflix and Hulu. We are available and happy to answer questions about your stay and SF to make the most of your trip. Our location In the heart or center of the city just a few blocks from incredible Golden Gate Park, the apartment is within walking distance of NOPA/Divisadero street corridor of incredible restaurants, Haight Ashbury, The DeYoung museum, Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake, plus many other great restaurants and shops. Transportation Many great options for public transit exist including metro light rail, Hayes 21 and Fulton 5 bus lines blocks away and of course Uber and Lyft. The Muni N Judah line at the intersection Carl street & Cole street stop is just 8 blocks away (10 minutes walk) and can take you downtown in just 15 minutes or out to the Ocean Beach. There are many places/kiosks to rent pedal and e-bikes “Bay Wheels” nearby as well. Walkable location - Walking Score of 96 makes us a walkers paradise And Bike Score of 93 There are “Bay Wheels” bike sharing stations 2 blocks away at Fell and Stanyan and 3 blocks away at Grove and Masonic There is a local corner store "Cindy's Market" at the intersection of Cole street and Hayes street that has a great selection of drinks, beer and wine as well as food and other items and an assortment of restaurants and coffee next door HOUSE SUPPLIES The flat is fully stocked with cleaning essentials, clothing irons, ironing boards, etc. We also provide cooking basics like spices and olive oils. Lovely 1915 Duplex Apartment near Lake Merritt

Cozy up on the sofa in front of the gas fireplace after a day exploring sites around the Bay Area. This second-floor duplex apartment is spacious--1,700 sf--and features a newly remodeled bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. There are seven exterior steps leading to the front door and 16 interior steps from the foyer to the private apartment. The steps are wide with a sturdy handrail. You'll be only two blocks from Lake Merritt with three miles of walking/running paths, and an easy walk to restaurants, farmers market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and the historic Grand Lake Theater. The upstairs apartment is large and spacious. You will enter the front door and ascend the main staircase to your private apartment. The stairs are wide, but not steep, and have handrails. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress; we use scent-free, environmentally friendly detergents on all our linens. There is a second, smaller bedroom with a twin bed, desk, broadband WiFi access, and TV with cable, including HBO and Xfinity on-demand. The twin mattress is new. The newly remodeled bath is tiled with Carrera marble. The classic oversized tub with shower dates back to the home’s origin, but the other fixtures are new, consistent with the home’s traditional style. The fully equipped kitchen has new appliances. You’ll have everything you’ll need to prepare a simple meal or a more elaborate dinner. Speaking of dining, there’s a formal dining room and a smaller dining area in the living space for more casual meals. On chilly evenings, cozy-up on the sofa in front of the gas fireplace. The light-filled living room has large windows where you have a close-up view of chickadees feeding in the birch and maple trees. Like most Bay Area homes--especially older ones--we do not have central air conditioning. Oakland's average summer/fall temperatures range from a high of 69-74 degrees; lows 53-57 degrees. But sometimes we have a heat burst that goes into the 80s. We have a window air conditioner in the master bedroom. There are screened windows that can be opened in every room. The good news is that you can leave your umbrella at home most months -- summer/fall is our dry season! My husband, Gordon, and I live in the downstairs apartment just off the foyer. We have a friendly young Corgi, who’s not allowed in the second floor apartment in case you’re worried about allergies. He’s super friendly and a good watchdog, alerting us when someone comes to our door, but is mostly quiet the rest of the time. We have a new washer and dryer in the basement, which you can use. There is on-street parking and possible tandem parking for one car in our driveway. A 94 walk score combined with convenient access to Uber, Lyft, and public transportation make having a car optional. We’re a quiet couple who will respect your privacy. We’re glad to share advice about local restaurants, sights, and getting around. I’m a passionate cook (and cookbook collector), so if you need to borrow anything from my kitchen, just let me know. Gordon is equally passionate about cycling (and collecting bikes). We’ll be around during your stay, so if there are any problems (hopefully not!) we’re available to take care of them. We’ll stay out of your way, unless you need something. Our home is only two blocks from Lake Merritt, which is circled with a necklace of lights and three-plus miles of walking/running paths. Our Adams Point neighborhood is very walkable—casual, popular restaurants and coffee shops are just around the corner. It's also an easy stroll to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, the historic Grand Lake Theater, and much more. The easiest way to get to San Francisco is the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) that takes you to downtown San Francisco in about 20 minutes. (We often take Uber or Lyft to and from the BART station on 19th Ave in Uptown. Or you can walk 1.25 miles around the lake to the station.) The AC Transit bus stop is two blocks away. We are about a block to highway entrances for easy access to all major highways--it's an easy day trip to visit the wine country or Silicon Valley, as long as you avoid rush hour!

Views from every room to the surrounding forest. Down a long path is the entrance of the home. Not appropriate for guests with limited mobility. Renovated with new furnishings, beds and high quality linens. Refinished original hardwood floors throughout. Renovated kitchen features restored vintage Wedgewood range, Kohler farmhouse sink with Brizo faucet, new Kitchen Aid dishwasher, and custom cabinetry. Thoughtfully designed custom lighting, as well as lighting by Restoration Hardware & Rejuvenation. My husband and I live in the neighboring town of Tiburon, and use this home occasionally as a nearby retreat to rest, enjoy the outdoors, and spend family time with our kids living in nearby San Francisco. Kindly note our strict policy precluding any gatherings larger than 6 guests. To access the house, please note the entry includes a relatively long pathway leading to our home. The redwood steps are newly built and comply with code standards for outdoor steps (evenly spaced, graded with proper incline, and tread height). Due to the many steps it may be challenging for those with limited mobility or small children. You have access to the entire home during your stay, as well as nearby public walking trails into town. I will provide my guests with access information to the house a couple of days before arrival. There will be additional information about the house on a welcome letter there inside; and, while your privacy will be completely respected, we are happy to be available to answer questions. Nestled in the hills, the property boasts a scenic walking path which leads down into Mill Valley town square. The nearby station offers bus transportation into San Francisco. Muir Woods National Monument is also located within an easy drive or an adventurous two and a half mile hike. It is most convenient to drive to our place. To get around Mill Valley there are many interesting walking paths and trails to explore the immediate area. Uber and Lyft are convenient for rides leaving the town square. For day trips into San Francisco, ferries depart from nearby Sausalito & Tiburon. Also, bus transportation into SF leaves from the Mill Valley town square. House layout includes— upstairs: one queen bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, vintage style bathroom, deck with dining furniture, office, and music/art room—this level does not have central heating, but does have radiant floor heating in bathroom, remote control heater in bedroom, & radiant heaters in kitchen and living room. downstairs: three bedrooms, cedar lined bathroom, living room with TV, laundry room, and two decks with lounge furniture; this level does have central heating. A very unique home with high ceilings and an industrial New York artist loft feeling. Lots of skylights and windows. Private courtyard with outdoor space to dine, barbecue, read a book, or hang out. Home and garden is full of art and sculptures. Restaurant style kitchen full of cookbooks. Guests have a private courtyard with a swing chair, outdoor furniture, and fruit trees. The home is situated on a 1/2 acre lot with a Mediterranean style garden with art and sculptures on display. Guests can help themselves to whatever fruit is in season (over 70 fruit trees in the garden, berries, and herbs). I am available and nearby for any questions. Beautiful Luxury Victorian near San Francisco, Beach, Oak

Bring the past back to life in this updated historical residence. The house features original architecture details, a neutral color scheme, contemporary and antique furnishings, contrasting textures and patterns, and an outdoor dining area. Parties are not allowed. This is a beautiful Victorian house built in 1908, with delightful vintage details throughout, and recently luxurious upgrades from top to bottom. It is decorated with French Country theme. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and welcoming. House is equipped with high speed internet (free wifi), flat screen TV, and wash/dryer. Guests will have access to the entire house and the garden. I am a very easy going person. Every guest will be respected and be cared for during their stay. Absolutely no problem if you break a dish, a glass, or accidentally scratch a table or spill something on the carpet. Things are meant to be used and guests should live freely during their visit. I live in Santa Clara, 45mins south of Alameda. Not onsite most days, but always available by phone or text, and will give guests immediate attention. My kind neighbors Dean and Stacy offered to help in emergency situations. My grown up son, Sean (25), lives half miles away from the Airbnb is able to help as well. The home is in a charming neighborhood where people are very friendly and welcoming. It is walking distance to Webster Street, filled with restaurant and shops, and a few minutes walk to the Crown Beach with miles of trails and stunning views. The Victorian house is convenient and central located, walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, 7 miles to Oakland International airport, 4 miles to Coliseum, Oracle Arena. Going to San Francisco, 12 miles by land, you have the options of taking the ferries, Bart (Lake Merritt Station) and bus AC Transit Route O (Santa Clara/9th bus stop, a few minutes walk) https://sfbaytransit.org/actransit/route/O Party is not allowed and quiet time is 9:30pm.
