Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a few days because we had a photo tour at the local asylum and were recommended here by a friend. The place was exactly as it was depicted, very cozy, and had a nice feeling of home. We loved the fireplace and really just the entire experinace, if we are ever back in the area we will stay here again for sure!

Michelle’s Airbnb was like a home away from home for me. All of the personal touches made the space very inviting. Super convenient location. Highly recommend!

Such an amazing host! We will definitely keep her amazing walk up apartment in our minds if we come back up to the north. The fireplaces and space heaters in each room were a necessity for us coming from Florida. Everything about the apartment was elegantly vintage with a touch of modern and you could really see she paid attention to detail. Michelle always responded quickly to whatever questions we had and was super nice and flexible about everything. The town is a very nice place to stay, everyone always said hello or good morning to us!

Michelle's place is lovely. It was very clean and welcoming. You can tell that it has been lovingly restored. It has a lot of character, high ceilings, pocket doors, and a clawfoot tub. We would definitely stay again.

If you are looking a sweet home-away-from-home this is it! This place was so inviting and comfortable. The bed was so nice to sleep in every night of our trip. And the town surrounding the place at a walkable distance provided plenty of interesting things to do. It was also a short drive away from good food and groceries so you are more than able to cook your own food, like we did. Loved the space and the host! A great place altogether.

Quaint, and comfy, historic apartment in the heart of town. The setting was lovely, and the court yard was a wonderful place to sit and gaze at the stars. The apartment was immaculate, and fully equipped with all the amenities. I will recommend this to all my friends. Michelle was thoughtful, and easy to communicate with.

I have stayed here several times and it is always clean, quiet and comfortable. Michelle is truly a super host. The bed will give you a great night sleep and the living area is spacious. Use the keurig and have coffee on the veranda.

Check in process was easy, room was really clean and smelled so good. He had literally everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. Dean is easy going, friendly, and his communication among other things is top notch. If I could give him seven stars I would. I totally recommend!!!

A nice spot right in Weston. The unit is second level up a flight of stairs, so if you are feeble or carrying your kitchen sink with you, this might be a consideration.

The studio apartment was so beautiful and the view was even better form the dining table. It was so homey and nice to stay in. The amenities were very useful to have or make food too. The space was very worth it!

This place is a little slice of wilderness nestled between the forest and river. We had such a great time on our snowy weekend in Buckhannon! I would definitely stay again.

This was a wonderful space: beautiful, comfortable, and with a lovely view of the river, blue-green & rushing around boulders right behind the house. The apartment was set up nicely with extra blankets, a little snack basket, coffee and tea, juice in the fridge - extra touches - and William was very responsive and helpful.

Words cannot express my wonderful experience at this airbnb and the extent of William's generosity and hospitality. The surrounding area is beautiful (feets away from the river) and the airbnb itself is very spacious, clean, and private. William went above and beyond to help me during my stay. I had a flat tire and William graciously gave me a ride to and from Philippi while giving me a great tour of the area. He and his wife are honestly some of the nicest/warm-hearted people I have ever met and I feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with them during my short stay in WV. 100/5 stars.

Beautiful stay along the river! The space was spotless and had a lot of thoughtful touches to make the experience very comfortable. It was nice to be secluded in nature and hear the roaring river, yet stay the night in a luxurious and cozy space. Check in/out was easy and William was quick to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed hiking at Audra State Park and exploring Buckhannon for lunch and dinner. Would love to return again in the fall. Highly recommend!

This weekend was meant to be a relaxed getaway from the craziness of my boyfriend’s & my lives & William’s place couldn’t have been a more perfect place to stay at. Not too far from the town’s local restaurants & stores, but just far enough to where we felt like we could enjoy mostly each other’s company. Got the chance to meet William in person & he was so helpful & personable. Already thinking about making another trip out to WV soon & will definitely be booking with William for it!

It is always nice staying with Barbara. Her home is very comfortable and she is such a sweet lady.

Another amazing stay at this hidden gem. Amazing people, cozy and clean!!!!! It’s super quiet. Nice linens. I love how the bedroom windows are tinted. When I stay here for work I always get off at 6am. It’s nice that the windows are dark so you can sleep in. The house is very clean and the sweetest cat always greets me at the front door. Amazing value as well!!!!

My stay at Barbara's Airbnb near Buckhannon, WV was perfect. I was traveling for business for a statewide community development meeting hosted by the WV Hub. Barbara's lovely remodeled farm house was convenient, clean, comfortable, and priced very affordably. She provided everything I needed for my overnight stay. I would gladly look forward to staying there again!

The s'more's basket was awesome! We super enjoyed them over our bonfire. We also loved the gas fireplace it was such a cozy touch for the cold weather we had there. The dollar game was also so fun! We made it to clue #4 but nothing past. So good luck and be sure to read through the guest book!

Such a quiet, magical place to relax and renew. Cannot recommend it enough!

We got there at night but in the morning we could see how beautiful it is. Very quiet place and so cozy. We have no words to describe how enjoyable it was. The kitchen has all the utensils and even more. We were welcomed with a delicious basket to enjoy the fire place. About the dollar game: We couldn’t find it but we had fun trying! We definitely will come back.

Our stay was fantastic. Fortunately the rain held out and we were able to build a fire and use the s'mores kit that was left for us which the kids loved. We loved the location and took advantage of it to go to some of the surrounding State parks. We would like to come back in the summer months and do some more exploring and just relax at the house.

Wonderful spot on a slow moving stream. Two ten year olds put their electronics away and played outside for hours. Wood and gas fireplaces were used for hours of relaxation. The City of Buckhannon was close when needed and found a gem of an Italian Restaurant called Mama Roma.

The Red Bull is a beautiful and peaceful cabin. We stayed over a weekend as we attended a WVU game. Our super hosts were quick to respond to us. My teenagers loved the outdoor firepit and the s’mores our super host provided. So thoughtful. The cabin had all the amenities we needed and more. It’s def a place we must revisit.

Very private and secluded but also only 15 minutes to grocery stores and shopping. Had a great time enjoying the fireplace while watching the leaves fall with the river in the background. Highly recommended!

Tim was a great host, always willing to help out with anything he could! The place was what was described and was actually larger than I expected. Tim was improving the apartment while I was there, so there was some work being done, but he always asked first and it was never intrusive. Both Weston and Buckhannon were a short drive to visit and the highway wasn't too far to get to for further destinations. Overall, my 3 month stay with my dog was a pleasant one and I would recommend this as a place to stay for anyone looking at reasonably priced accommodations in the area!

A lovely little getaway.

Great little weekend getaway for my family of 3. Very cute cabin in a beautiful setting. Only complaint would be that we were told there was WiFi, however the signal was so weak we could hardly use it all weekend. This wasn’t a huge deal because we enjoyed having an “unplugged” weekend. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the cabin. It was, perhaps one of the cleanest places we had stayed in. JB's response time was also impressive. He was quick to get back to me with any questions I had. He deserves the super host statues he has been awarded.

Nice place, as mentioned in a previous review, AC does smell like sewage. Little dead bugs surrounding the inside walls lime they were sprayed but not swept up. Good communication great place and location.

Dennis's place is awesome!! We stayed for a long weekend during our son's college parents weekend and absolutely loved it. We cooked outdoors on the fire pit as well as indoors. There was more than ample cookware. We had fun playing several of the games that were there. Directv was a bonus!! The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. The upstairs sleeping area was perfect for our son he enjoyed that very much. The outdoor shower was fun too :) I particularly enjoyed sitting on the porch with my morning coffee watching the chipmunks run around. I would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend it.

The location is is beautiful. It is right on the river and it was lovely to have a coffee out by the water in the morning. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable.

This place is picture perfect. We enjoyed watching the humming birds, swimming in the river from dawn til dusk, rock collecting, fishing and just relaxing. This is the first vacation that I can back from actually refreshed and rejuvenated! You won’t want to leave this little piece of paradise. Cell service was very sketchy which made it even nicer and allowed us to reconnect as a family. Lots of memories were made.

You cannot go wrong at The Holly House!!! My experience was outstanding!!! The husband and wife host are superb ! The Holly House is supplied with everything that you need !!! My stay was a little over three weeks and I encourage anyone to come and stay in this safe and easy access Airbnb !!!! You won’t be disappointed !!!

The apartment is clean, and the beds are comfortable. If you are looking for a kitchen that is actually equipped to cook in, you will find it here. It is very convenient to all of Buckhannon, and it is quiet and comfortable. Carolyn also has a great folder about things to do in the area. It is easy to check in, feels very private, and we had a lovey visit with our son, who is going to school at WV Wesleyan.

This historic home was a great overnight stay for 3 of us. It was SO quiet and clean.

Everything was better than expected. Private separate entrance to a very nice upstairs apartment. Right in the heart of Buckhannon. Easily walk to Main Street. I would look for this place the next time I am in town.

This is a nice, sparkling clean home on a beautiful stretch of river. 11 people stayed comfortably, including common areas, and the kitchen had plenty of supplies available to cook meals for the gang. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Great Place. More space than expected! Very clean and comfortable. Watching the snow fall on the river was delightful. Hoping the train rolls through on our next visit.

There is not enough space in this area to compliment our stay enough! The caretakers, Butch (Teddy) and Connie were so hospitable and EXPERTS in riding the local trails - they spent two days (nearly 15 hours!) showing us around the riding area.. local landmarks and history of the land. The home is by far the CLEANEST Airbnb ever! The sound and clarity of the river is breathtaking.. I wish I could rate this experience a million stars!! Can't wait to book our next stay!

This is an absolutely amazing home in a very quiet location. Ideal for a weekend get away or a family. It is a little off the beaten path, but offers so many excellent features it's hard to pass it up for a future stay. Really enjoyed the quiet and tranquil location. My family of 8 had a great stay! It’s an easy drive to Buckhannon (follow Lannette’s instructions). The house is super clean and spacious. The views of the river from the huge picturesque windows were very relaxing. The kitchen has every tool you need to whip up a gourmet dinner. There were plenty of fresh and clean linens. We truly enjoyed our Christmas vacation and we would definitely stay again. Thank you Lannette!

I drove 10.5 hours from Massachusetts with my husband and twin 3.5 year old boys for Thanksgiving and am so glad I did! The location of the house is ”off-the-beaten-path,” beautiful, rustic, and authentically Appalachian! The house itself is fun, spacious, and very nice. Everything is sparking clean with nice, comfortable furniture, cozy beds, ample linens and towels, toys for the little ones, and big windows in the kitchen and den that frame beautiful views. The bed sheets, pillow cases and quilts were soft and smelled freshly cleaned. It was the perfect house for a Thanksgiving getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay in the treehouse. The drive into the wilderness was rugged and beautiful, the setting of the treehouse was gorgeous, the fire was toasty and comfortable, and the hospitality of Ron and Shirley was outstanding! We plan to come stay again.

Shirley and Ron are great. We took a side-by-side ride up the steep hill to the treehouse, which was our own personal glamping space. Loved it. It’s worth the nighttime trips to the outhouse.

Shirley and Ron’s AirBnB is one of the best weekend getaways I’ve had in a long time. I brought my little pup out to escape the city for the weekend. We both enjoyed ourselves so much it was hard to leave. When I arrived, a nice little snowstorm blew through and everything was covered in snow. It made their already beautiful property that much more wonderful. They truly have thought of everything you would need and more. One of the fondest memories of the weekend was sharing a cup of coffee in their home before leaving (I didn’t want to leave!). I’m looking forward to bringing my wife back out in the summer. Also, make sure to take the time to hike the property. There’s an abundance of wildlife, creeks, caves, and a couple small waterfalls. Truly beautiful. Thank you, Ron and Shirley!

Shirley and Ron were extremely warm and welcoming. They thought of every little detail from having the fires going upon our arrival to the marshmallows and little chocolate treats. The treehouse was cute and cozy. My favorite part was the treat of using the wood fire stove and adding logs while reading and playing checkers. It’s the simple things in life and this beautiful little piece of heaven is the perfect place to be reminded that:) thanks again Ron and Shirley for sharing your space - we look forward to coming back

This place was amazing! It's on Ron and Shirley's farm which is huge and includes cattle, chickens, and maple syrup. The hosts are as sweet as can be and extremely helpful. It's a pretty long drive off the main road to get to their doorstep, but we made it in December in a rental sedan without much trouble (we followed Shirley's directions instead of Google Maps). Ron gave us and our luggage and our dog a lift in his ATV for the quarter mile up to the tree house, but the walk would have been manageable. He had a fire ready for us in the outdoor fire pit, and another in the wood stove downstairs. We used the camping stove to cook dinner, and then turned in early. The house is an elevated two-story cabin with a wood ladder to the second floor. It was pretty easy to get up and down, but our dog whimpered a lot whenever we left her on a floor we weren't on for too long. It's a little harder to get up and down the ladder carrying a 35 pound dog! There are battery powered lights, and places to charge your phone. I had cell service there with AT&T but my partner has T-Mobil and did not. The main bathroom is a well-kept outhouse. Definitely rustic, very beautiful, and the stars were lovely!

Shirley and Ron's treehouse was an amazing retreat from the world. It's like camping except much easier. They've thought of everything and went above and beyond throughout our stay. Highly recommend.

The treehouse was much better than expected for a cozy weekend getaway. Ron and Shirley were fantastic hosts who were attentive when necessary but provided all the resources for a private weekend. We brought all camp kitchen supplies but they had most ready for us so save the packing space. Our hound loved exploring their property and we loved the peaceful sounds of nature in the evening.

Carl was timely in his responses and everything was exactly as advertised! The restaurant/bar attached has a live band every Friday night and they were great. Would stay here again if traveling through.

Not only is this spacious apartment beautiful, it's also super clean. My wedding ring fell behind the toilet (which can be a scary place in most homes) but there wasn't even a speck of dust back there! Weston is a cute town full of friendly people, cute shops, and attractive buildings, but it wouldn't have been such a fun vacation spot if Michelle's apt hadn't been available.

Michelle's place was perfect and she was an amazing host!! Awesome little extras in the bathroom and kitchen and she made us feel so welcome. I would 110% recommend staying with her.

This home is in a wonderful location in a quaint town. The host was wonderful and made the experience so pleasant. We were greeted with beautiful décor in a clean and very charming space. We got much more than expected. The back porch was the best.

This place was perfect! Michelle was an excellent host and you can tell she really takes care of the building. We travelled to Weston to take in some historic sites and tour the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and we were fortunate to find this place. I would highly recommend staying here as it sits right in the middle of downtown and is an easy walk to local restaurants and shops. Overall, we had a great trip and her place was exactly what we were looking for.

This place is very unique and has an old-timey feel, but has since been remodeled/updated and has everything you might need during your stay. Great place, highly recommend! Walked to Thyme Bistro for dinner, absolutely a must if you stay here. Beautifully decorated apartment, has everything you need from dry shampoo in the bathroom to wine and coffee in the kitchen.

Nancy gave me a warm welcome upon my arrival and Darrell her husband gave me some tips on where best to go for my morning run, which was so nice of them. I was in the area for a teacher conference, so the convenient proximity to downtown and Wesleyan was an added bonus. Our stay at Nancy’s place, River By Cottage, was just the perfect spot for a fall getaway to visit WVWC. This being our second visit, we loved being able to sit out on the front porch for a bit to enjoy the evening sunlight and fall leaves. The coffee amenities were delicious, and the fully equipped kitchen was useful. We rested very well and enjoyed the spacious accommodations. I’m sure we will return in the future!

Absolutely loved stating at river-by-cottage. It was clean and peaceful, Nancy thought of everything. I wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed the tranquility. Will defiantly stay there again on my return trip. Highly recommend trying this cottage!

This place is so beautiful, with great views of the river and mountains. The host, Brenda is awesome. Her home is both clean and very well appointed. You only need to bring a suitcase because she has thought of everything else.

We had so much fun exploring the woods, climbing all over the giant rocks and fishing the river! A wonderful place for a peaceful family getaway! Brenda’s place was great! You will appreciate the thoughtfulness that Brenda had when she ‘stocked’ the cabin for guests. I can’t think of anything that we needed that wasn’t already there. The cabin was so clean and inviting. It definitely felt like a home away from home. The pool table was so much fun for us, especially for our boys. We are very grateful for having had the opportunity to stay.

This place is the perfect little getaway cabin especially if you like hunting! It is a little far away from shopping, food or things to do but is so peaceful. There are plenty of towels and blankets to use along with plenty of kitchen utensils and accessories. Brenda is easy to get ahold of and answers very quickly. Anything you need she can help! Our stay was great!

My girlfriend & I booked this place for Valentine’s Day. We both loved it! The special features within the home made it very enjoyable! Our favorite feature was the bathrooms design & the built in fireplace. We will definitely be back to the Polar Inn, well worth it for anyone looking for a relaxing stay! It was a great place to get out of DC for a few days. The studio has a high ceiling which makes it feel larger than it is. The kitchen and gas fireplace make a great space for a quiet retreat or as a home base to explore the area.

This was a great place to stay that had a full kitchen and living room! Tim was a great host that was very quick to respond to any problems I encountered.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. Monica was quick to respond to our messages and offered suggestions to make the stay better. The beds were comfortable. The house was clean and decorated well (especially if you are a Mountaineers fan!). The area was great. It was everything we needed!

Such a charming and comfortable place and has just about everything you need. The host is very accommodating and communicates quickly, and the self check-in/check-out is simple and seamless. The area is peaceful and quiet, perfect for our needs. We had a very enjoyable time here and would definitely recommend to anyone.

The Inn is very easy to find and centrally located. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant downstairs, it looked very nice and was busy most times of the day (which is a good sign to me!). Check-in was simple and the room was nice and clean.

We were highly impressed with the newly renovated room! The restaurant attached was a great getaway and it is walking distance to the downtown shops, coffee shop, and bars!

Wonderful hotel. Awesome staff, great location and good food. What more could a traveler ask for?

A very beautiful and isolated property! Such a great place to unplug and enjoy time with family and friends. There are many outdoor activities to occupy your time, ranging from roasting marshmallows on the fire pit to visiting the nearby river and falls! We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!

Such a great spot, especially if traveling with kids. Secluded. Cozy. Full of thoughtful touches. Everything worked. Excellently stocked. We were so happy with our stay here! Definitely coming back.

This was our second stay at the cabin. We had an excellent time again. The cabin is so secluded but yet close to other activities like fishing at the Tygart River. We look forward to our next trip to the cabin.

We loved this home, its location, and the hospitality of Sara and her husband. The house had all (maybe more!!) of the amenities you need in a home and it was well furnished, clean, and very comfortable. We would recommend flashlights and candles, for the possibility of a power outage, as we were there our first night and the power flickered a few times. We also would recommend a landline installed in the home or a cell phone that would be available for use, as AT&T phones did not work at all and Verizon phones had very spotty service. In 2019, access to others is important, especially when this house is so secluded. Overall, this house was amazing and it was a weekend getaway for girlfriends who live in different states. Several of us hope to return again to this house with our own families. Thank you for a great stay.

The Tygart River guest house was lovely! Perfect for our weekend visit with family. Located directly across from the river, truly a picture perfect setting for all to enjoy!!

We had a great time at the Tygert River Guest House! The house was very cozy and inviting, and everything was sparkling clean. We were lucky enough to have some 60 degree December days and enjoyed the river views. We look forward to returning the next time we are in town.

Great place, great getaway location, no cell service and slow WiFi

Such a beautiful and spacious home with spectacular views of the creek! This home has so many spaces to enjoy including a large covered front porch and back deck as well as a fire pit behind the home. The home was clean and had everything we needed to have a great weekend. Sherry was so easy to communicate with and locating the property/check-in were a breeze. We will be back to enjoy this beautiful property!!

The house is great! It sits right on the river with lots of room for you and your family or friends to share! Very clean! It was the prefect getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were able to BBQ and sit out on the porch. The house has amazing views and it is decorated beautifully.

The pictures don’t do this older home justice. All the little touches feel like I’m stepping back in time about 40 years ago. Great Host, quick response time. This place offered a warm inviting atmosphere! I’d recommend this place to others.
