This a bright and airy lower unit full apartment with a open kitchen living area and separate bedroom and bathroom. You have garden views and your own private entrance. There is a small kitchen with a microwave, 2 ring burner and fridge. This apartment is down two flights of stairs and may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. Sausalito law allows for 30 + day rentals . However please request your timing as we can accommodate one rental per 30 day period.
This is a separate apartment consisting of a queen size bedroom, kitchen/living room and private bathroom with a shower. This unit has a separate entrance so there is lots of privacy. It has a queen bed with a european pillow top mattress, flat screen tv, wifi, ipod dock. I leave your kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, milk and breakfast items to get you started. The kitchen has a refrigerator and microwave. There is a wall of windows/french doors so there is lots of light. There is also a washer and dryer in this unit. There is an aero bed and all the associated linens for an extra/third person. There is street parking and no permits needed. There is often a spot directly opposite the car deck. There is another unit above this one. I always ask guest in the upper unit to remove shoes, and be mindful that noise can carry. Sausalito is really a fishing village and is twinned with Portofino, Italy - you get the picture. There are great restaurants 3 blocks away with.. - Cafe Divino - italian and live music - F3- cocktails and fast French food - Sartaj - locals pit stop - amazing indian food - Equator - great coffee and breakfast - Bocce - pizza and bocce ball on the waterfront There is a quaint town with cute stores and lots of hike and bike rides. I have a whole list of attractions and rental outlets that I will leave for you in your room. - take the ferry to the city - paddle board around the bay - hike mount tam - bike to Tiburon and have lunch on the harbor at Sams - walk to Mill Valley and lunch at The Depot in the village square This house is unique in that it was built on the site of Sausalitos water tower so it is 22 steps down from street level and has a private walled garden. Just so you know, I have a small 12lb dog called Mocha. He is curious and checks the property for raccoon damage each morning so you may see him. Careful he's a lover! This property is only available for short term rentals of 30 days or more as per Sausalito short term rental laws. However please request your timing as we can accept one rental per 30 day period.
It is a short walk downhill to Caledonian street the locals foodie street with great burgers, pizza and Indian food. Yum!
  • Nice place for a romantic get-away

  • We’ve stayed here at least three times, I can’t quite remember exactly. Since the last time there’s been some fresh painting and the carpet, which although I don’t particularly remember as stained (as mentioned by another reviewer ) is either new or has been cleaned because it looks fine. The bed is particularly comfortable and the place has all manner of good quality accoutrements, soaps, shampoo, laundry, coffee etc. To complain about anything here would be nitpicking in my book. It’s not high end luxury but it’s perfectly clean and comfortable and if you’re not already familiar with the neighbourhood it’s gorgeous and a fantastic location for what we want. Walkable to town if you’re in hill walking shape. We were very happy and will stay again with zero hesitation, honestly I would only go elsewhere in Sausalito if it wasn’t available.

  • Great location, love being able to get up and go for a walk or run with beautiful views! Easy access to nearby tiburon and mill valley. Great for a quick trip where you don’t need a full kitchen. Very cute and private little in-law unit!

  • Definitely recommend staying at Tanyia’a!! It’s very homey, cute and a great location to get to SF, Mill Valley, Rodeo Beach, the Muir Woods, and more! She had small breakfast options ready for us when we got there which I thought was a great touch! We had a wonderful time!!

Private, quiet, light, airy and open house nestled in a walled garden. Walk the steps to the waterfront and ferry. There have been 4 engagements in this house. It's a love shack!
Fully renovated, great feeling, light and very peaceful designer artists home (duplex) in the Sausalito hills. All new appliances. New kitchen, bathroom and hardwoods. Includes the following: - 1 King size bed with European pillow top mattress - Living room - 2nd bedroom full size platform bed - Aero bed for additional guest upon request - Hair dryer - Iron and ironing board - Washer/dryer - Dishwasher - TV/Comcast cable - Wifi DSL - Utilities included - Garden - Water views This house is built on the site of the old water tower in Sausalito so the front garden is enclosed by a rock wall and being about 20 steps down from the car deck it is very secluded and private. I had been living in China and bought this house when I decided to return to the San Francisco Bay Area. It was owned by an opera singer who lived in it from the time it was built. When I bought the house it was in disrepair but over the last two years I have renovated it and brought back the light and life that I know was once here. This property is only available for short term rentals of 30 days or more as per Sausalito short term rental laws.
Sausalito is a great mix of salty sailors, art galleries and up and coming restaurants. There are numerous places to eat on the water or along the locals street. And the city is a ferry ride of 15 min drive away. I love the fact that although Sausalito sees it's fair share of tourists, it's twinned with Portofino, the locals still have a lot of influence with summer jazz in the park and music in local restaurants nightly. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the Bay Area. It's magical.
  • Rarely does an Airbnb exceed expectations as much as Tanyia's place did. We walked into a beautiful, stylish space with a gorgeous view and were greeted by biscotti and chocolate truffles (that were actually amazing!) and a great bottle of red wine. Typically, when hosts provide a welcome gift it's whatever's cheapest at the supermarket but Tanyia clearly went above and beyond. There was also a full basket of fresh fruit (which we happily partook of) and a fridge full of breakfast supplies. Her kitchen will make you want to cook! Who can resist chopping onions while sipping a California wine with a view of the Sausalito hills and San Francisco Bay? The bed was comfortable, the entire home was beautifully sunlit throughout the day, and the dinner table is a great place to host dinner for you and your loved ones or a couple of guests. We were in town on business so didn't get to enjoy the home as much as we'd have wished, but it was a wonderful place to come home to each day and made us forget how far from home we truly were. I cannot recommend Tanyia's home enough! Book a week or book a month, you'll feel right at home. Hands down the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. A++++, highly recommended!

  • The house is comfortable, easy access and lots of fun tips about eating and visiting Sausalito. We loved every minute. Our party was 3 adults and the stay was perfect. You will love the location of this home.

  • We had a wonderful time at Tanyia’s magical spot. Tanyia was incredibly responsive & helpful and the house was beautiful, comfortable & just perfect for a relaxing time away. Look forward to coming back soon.

Please note: this studio is only available for stays of 30+ days. All other inquiries must be declined per Sausalito law. This charming and peaceful studio in Sausalito has it all: privacy, amenities and a convenient location. Easy street parking and walking distance to shopping, restaurants and waterfront. Enjoy a comfortable queen-sized bed, flat screen television, kitchen and private bathroom.
Situated in a quiet north Sausalito neighborhood that is still extremely walkable (please view below map for a sense of location), the garden studio is perfect for those who would like a relaxing stay during their time in the Bay Area. Located at the back of our main house, the garden studio has its own private entrance and is charmingly appointed. Please note: there are 26 stairs down to the studio from the property entrance (in groups with flat areas in between). As such this is probably not an appropriate listing for those with mobility issues or injuries that may prevent them from walking up and down stairs. While we love animals no pets (including our own) are allowed in the garden studio out of consideration for our guests with allergies. Minimum stay is 2 nights. With a queen size bed and pullout sofa bed, the garden studio can fit up to four people. Guests should bear in mind that it is a studio set up with an open floor plan. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or special requests. Toddler size air mattress and Pack N Play crib available upon request. Sausalito is a charming town, with great restaurants, local character and is conveniently close to the city of San Francisco. It's a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of exploring SF. It's also close to other Bay Area attractions and activities like Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Marin Headlands, Point Reyes and Sonoma and Napa wine country. The garden studio is located in northern Sausalito, approximately 1.5 miles for the Sausalito ferry terminal, with easy freeway access.
For those who like to be outdoors and active, the options are limitless. There are plenty of nearby hikes, easy access to Marin bike paths, free tennis courts within one block of the studio (as well as basketball courts, a soccer field and small track) and nearby kayak and paddle board rentals.
  • Tanya and her family were so accommodating to my needs during my stay! I’d definitely recommend her as a host to anyone! She’s great!

  • Very clean, convenient to downtown Sausalito

    Steven2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • A nice studio that is conveniently located in Sausalito. Easy street parking near the studio was always available. The studio is on the smaller side but a cozy & private location for a couple. Tanya was a great communicator, worked with our schedules and provided us quick responses to all questions & requests. If you are headed to the Bay Area this is a terrific place to stay that made for a great central location to visit many of the sites. Highly recommended.

  • Perfect if you are looking for tranquility and the comfort of a home.

    Raquel2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This b&b is in a great location in Sausalito. It’s walking distance to Molly Stones supermarket, the waterfront and many restaurants serving lunch and dinner. I would gauge the distance (brisk walk) to the ferry for San Francisco at about 25 minutes. Parking for the apartment is right by the property. Altogether, it was a wonderful stay for 12 nights. Thanks Tanya.

    Lynda2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little studio. We really enjoyed our stay here. If you like to walk and the weather cooperates, downtown is about a mile and a half away. There's grocery shopping and a couple restaurants even closer, just down the street. The unit itself is in a basement so heads up, it definitely does smell musty, especially near the closets. Plus, the bathroom has an older sliding door with a large gap at the bottom, so very little sound buffer, and the fan is weak. However, the apartment in a quiet area, has decent natural light, and a full fridge and nice little kitchen area. Also, the host and her husband were super friendly and very accommodating, which made our stay even better.

Soak in the Sausalito sailboats and sunlight from every room of our modern getaway. You’re walking distance to Sausalito’s marina, restaurants, cafes, shops, galleries, and the Ferry. Shop for groceries from Mollie Stones or our locally sourced Driver’s and Farmers' markets nearby.
Furnished and owned by an architect, our place has a clean modern style with antiques, books and art pieces from around the world.
We have a gorgeous view of the water and town, while not being too far from either. Some favorite restaurants within walking distance include: F3, Sushi Ran, Bar Bocce, The Joinery, Cibo and Le Garage!
  • Such a wonderful beautiful space with a fantastic host.

  • I stayed at Allison’s apartment with my parents and partner during our stay in San Fran and we all absolutely loved it there. Allison was incredibly hospitable and easy to communicate with. Everything about the apartment from ease of check in via lockbox, location in Sausalito and stunning views from the living room / balcony were fantastic. Could have happily stayed there for a week or more! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

    Emma2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Allison was a treat to deal with. Her home was spotless, the bed in the master very comfy, and the kitchen - well, a real kitchen, which was great for us. We also enjoyed the small deck overlooking Napa Street, which has an extraordinarily steep hill - not unusual for Sausalito. We enjoyed the views to the harbor and the fog horns at night. And the apartment has a parking space. We walked everywhere- up and down the hill - and we are not spring chickens. But Lyft is available if need be - we used it one night to get home. The apartment is beautifully decorated in the current rage of mid-century - easy and comfy. Do not hesitate to book Allison’s home. I am sure glad that we did.

  • This is a really wonderful place to be. The home is spotless, beautifully and stylishly decorated and very comfy and chilled. Everything is walkable and the ferry isn’t far into San Francisco. I would recommend this very highly. I came with two fussy teenagers and they loved it. Cute little beach within walking distance. Host is incredibly helpful but not intrusive in any way. Loved it ! Didn’t want to leave.

This is a lovely place to stay, just minutes from San Francisco. Halfway between an apartment and a hotel suite, it is the 1st floor of a 3 story building with a private entrance and an exclusive driveway. Please read our numerous glowing reviews.
Sausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...thirty years ago). If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels. It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country. Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to over $200 for holidays and special events (when a minimum number of nights may be in effect). This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite with a private entrance and no other access from the rest of the building. It's like a studio apartment without a kitchen (just a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, beverage cooler, and coffee maker). A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed. A living area with a beautiful sectional, gas fireplace (ignited by a remote). There's a small dining area and breakfast bar. Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC. It also has a big screen TV (with cable) in the main room and a second little TV in the bedroom, as well as WiFi. There is no kitchen, but there is a beverage cooler, washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, serving supplies, and a private patio. There is a driveway exclusive to the Suite which leads to the private entrance but most Guests prefer to park on the street which, unlike most Sausalito roads, is wide and flat. Some cars which are low to the ground (like my litttle convertible) can't cross the crest of the sidewalk, so it's good that there is ample street parking. It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio with two tables (the umbrellas in the photo were destroyed by storms...twice and are no longer there). There isn't a pool or luscious landscaping (thanks to the drought, the lawn has reverted to a field), just a restful and private enclave. I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning. It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main road), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour from the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Tennis Courts, Schoonmaker Beach, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes to SF and a short drive to the Redwoods, Beaches, and Wine Country. It is one mile to the Golden Gate Ferry which goes to downtown SF and The Blue & Gold Ferry which goes to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a great getaway. Feel free to ask any questions.
The Suite is two blocks from an upscale supermarket and walking distance to a dozen restaurants, from Mexican to Chinese to French casual. Within one mile, there are over a dozen; Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American, Thai...and Sushi Ran, one of the most-awarded Japanese restaurants in California.
  • Well equipped, stylish room at a great location, short walk to downtown. Enjoy your stay :)

  • Lovely place, terrific host. Really recommended. Nice walk to waterfront all flat ground. Quiet, private and secure. Very well maintained. My first experience with renting only a "room" and it was entirely a pleasure thanks to the host, in particular, who worked overtime to help me with an early arrival.

The decor is casual and bright. There is a glass sliding door which opens to a deck overlooking Willow Creek School. The private entrance is adjacent to a grove of Eucalyptus trees. It was an artist's studio and has a skylight above the sitting area. We welcome all visitors.
    Non-smokers only.
The neighborhood is serene. It is a planned development and only those living on Lincoln Drive use Lincoln. There is not a lot of traffic.
  • “A guest never forgets the host who had treated him kindly.” - Homer Rosemary and Bob are simply wonderful hosts! They promptly responded to any issues that arose during my stay and immediately resolved a plumbing issue. I have truly enjoyed my peaceful time here and will always remember their kindness.

  • This is my second stay and I enjoyed it as much as my first visit. Definitely plan to come back again. Rosemary is a great host!

    Douglas2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rosemary was the best host I’ve ever had. She is sweet, generous, and genuine. The space and location are superb. I look forward to returning!

    Amrit2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very enjoyable stay. Rosemary is a lovely and helpful host. The unit is actually nicer than the photos, with good natural light and beautiful artwork. The neighbhorhood is quiet, with lots of trees and open views. The family of deer that grazed near the patio almost everyday was a special treat. Parking is easy. I highly recommend staying at Rosemary's place.

  • Amazing place to stay. Prime location to get to San Francisco ; just having to go over Golden Gate Bridge so like 15 to 20 mins away . Lovely space to stay in with beautiful paintings on the wall !

  • If you have a car, this is a great spot (excellent value for money) to use as a base for exploring San Francisco and the bay area. We were there when the heat record (100°F) was broken, but he room remained relatively cool - fortunately. Would stay again.

My place is close to Downtown Sausalito, San Francisco, Muir Woods, Sausalito ferry, family-friendly activities, nightlife, the city center. We do live on a steep hill, so having your own car/rental car is highly recommended. You will have off street parking in our driveway. You’ll love my place because of the tree-filled neighborhood, the comfy bed, and the coziness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Non-smokers only.
The guest room is on a separate floor and has a private patio that looks out on eucalyptus trees. We are close to cafes, a market and the adorable waterfront & downtown of Sausalito. (Everything is about a 5 min drive). Non-smokers only.
We are in an excellent walking neighborhood if you like to stroll, it feels like you are in the woods, note that it is hilly.
  • Great place to stay. Can't get better with the location. So close to beautiful Sausalito. Everything was clean and the suit was so separate from the rest of the house. It was perfect for a few nights stay.

Capture the spirit of 1960s American wanderlust in a gleaming Airstream trailer. The curvaceous interior has been painstakingly restored with period-correct decor. New appliances have been selected as much for their retro style as modern function.
We added our "aluminum guest house" to our back yard with a 100 foot tall crane- up and over our 2 story house. We spent a year gutting it to the bare aluminum shell and then rebuilding it. Everyone pitched in, it was a 3 generation family project that turned out exactly as we envisioned it: A clean new modern space inside the iconic mid century Airstream silver bullet shape. It turns out to have very good fung shui and creates a peaceful, cozy feeling. We call it "The Haven." People always smile the moment they see it, and take pictures when they leave. Our 1969 Airstream International is outfitted with guests in mind. Our back yard is quiet, green and private; with a beautiful deck, a bbq, tables and chairs. Inside is plenty of headroom, clean modern amenities, new plumbing, delightful 1969 Vintage décor. Designed to be a totally a comfortable space for travelers and visitors, we use spa-quality products for the full size shower, and the bedroom has a dream catcher, 2 reading lamps and 1000 thread count sheets on the exceptionally comfortable queen size bed. Guests have wi fi and Premium cable TV to enjoy, a universal cell phone charger and a lava lamp. The kitchen is well equipped and all appliances are brand new and Retro Red. The dishes are vintage California pottery, and there are books about Airstream history. We leave a first morning breakfast for you, tea and Peet’s Coffee. There’s a folder with information about trails and nearby attractions as well as menus from many excellent restaurants in our area, delivered if you want to stay in cuddled up beside the “fireplace” (heater). Our “Haven” doesn’t travel any more but the unique Airstream experience here makes people happy. It is a perfect get away for celebration and romance, for rest or attending an event in the area, writing, reading, escaping, visiting family nearby. • Absolutely loved our stay in the cutest airstream ever! Great location, with an awesome coffee shop (equator) and cute places to shop! The bed was so exceptionally comfortable that I got the best sleep that I’d had in days!

  • Lovely stay a great break on our travels away from the hustle and bustle , the accommodation was great and met our expectations and matched the images. Everything provided and very thoughtful in caring for our needs thank you

  • We loved our two nights in the Airstream trailer! It was unique and comfortable, and the yard is beautiful! Our four year old daughter LOVED the tree house and swing, and the yogurt and raspberries waiting for us. Marsha and Floyd could not have been nicer or more welcoming. It was clear that they put a lot of thought and work into the airstream, and if we’re ever back in Mill Valley, we will definitely stay there again.

    Diana2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marsha is absolutely the kindest host we’ve had to date so welcoming and accommodating. Romantic beautiful place. Thank you so much Marsha.

  • Amazing location and such a cozy and fun place to stay.

    Arth2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just as charming as in the photos. Marsha has done a fabulous job maintaining and decorating this vintage airstream. It was clean, comfortable, warm and cozy and felt like a fun little escape. She was also really patient and flexible with my moving check in time. Loved my stay, thank you!

    Alexis2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fun place to stay! It had all the quirks an airstream should. 🙂

    Jenny2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • It's very clean and tidy. They have heater in the airstream to keep us warm during night... and some fresh foods in the fridge. Great experience!

French doors are in both rooms that open to the covered patio. If you want to be infused in nature and reset your soul, this is the place to do it. Note: there are 20 (not steep) steps to get to the deck. Not ADA friendly so sorry. I wish it was.
We are 10-15 minutes from Muir Woods, the Golden Gate or downtown Mill Valley. You will need a car to get around or you can take an Uber or Lyft or bike!
  • Wonderful view and super comfortable bed.

    Karen2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a really comfortable bed, clean and beautiful bnb! Katy quickly responds to any questions you have, my only wish was the check in and check out time were standard 3pm-11am instead of 5pm-10am...otherwise it's a great place to stay. Close to Muir Woods!

    Sonya2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Katy’s place was a great choice for me and my fiancé. It is below the main place where Katy stays at. On the day we arrived it was cold and weather forecast was for rain. We woke up to a foggy, cold but beautiful landscape. Katy’s place is beautiful with private entrance and a wonderful view of rooftops hidden amongst all the redwoods. It’s great sight if you love nature. The inside is very chic and clean with everything you might need to relax. We would definitely reserve again. Things to note: This place has steps going down hill around the house to the entrance. It is not ADA. It would be a struggle for anyone who is physically disabled. There is no kitchen but there is a coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge that you may use. There are also games and books for you to use. These were not hindrances for us and we utilized them when we could. Also, You can hear Katy’s son upstairs but just barely. He’s very quiet for his age but if you are very sensitive to sound might not be good for you. I usually wake up instantly when I hear running or conversations but at Katy’s I slept like a baby. She was also attentive making sure we were having a good time and needing anything. Very friendly.

    Gabriel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katy, I have nothing but praise for you and your lovely home. It was an inspiring location to be amongst nature and good people. Your attention to detail, knowledge and the vibe from your home can warm even the coldest of hearts. The whole community is emersed in culture, natural beauty, and the cleanest air. Waking up to that view was a dream. The starlit sky at night was the most beautiful that I have ever seen it. 'Hide Away' is the most appropriate name. It was most definitely the best hidden gem that I could have found. It was utter perfection. Thank you!

    Ashley2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I were happy to find this delightful spot for the first night of our NorthernCalifornia Coast road trip. Katy was a wonderful host and the apartment fit our needs. And it was less than two miles to our favorite Mill Valley Restaurant - Floodwater! Thank you, Katy!

    Cathy2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Hideaway was such a cute place to stay while visiting Muir Woods. Apart from being in a great location, the place was super cute and Katy made sure that our trip and stay were very accommodated!

1930 vintage sunny home has water views from every room and 3 bedrooms/2 baths. Sleeps 6 very easily and is furnished with contemporary and antiques. Updated gourmet kitchen & baths, wood burning fireplace, hot tub and outdoor patio with views.
This listing has the charm of a classic 1930's home, with all the architectural details, molding, and hard wood floors. The views of the bay, Sausaito's charming community, and some of the marine activity.
  • The house is lovely, very comfortable and true to its photos. The views of the harbor, the bay, Tiburon/Belvedere and Angel Island are spectacular from most windows at any time, day or night. The house is well appointed, the hot tub a delight and the beds very comfortable. Jim graciously accommodated our few requests. This is our 4th experience in a long term rental (six weeks). Overall, the house was very well suited for our purposes and accommodated our guests. It was well priced for this expensive community. The location is convenient to the 101 putting San Francisco and all of Marin within easy reach. We greatly enjoyed our stay and absolutely loved the area. A few ‘good to knows’: Most houses in Sausalito are built into hills with many stairs to access. Jim’s house has fewer than average, but 16 uneven, steep, stone steps might be a challenge for some. The one car garage is best suited for a small car. Our large Subaru fit - but just, and street parking is limited. Jim needs to water indoor and outdoor plants. He was courteous about requesting a time to enter, but it was an accommodation we did not expect. If our long or short term plans called for another visit to the area, we would not hesitate to rent Jim’s house again.

  • My family and I enjoyed the house. Location is perfect and house is welcoming and cozy.

    E.J2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at this Sausalito home. The views are beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub, particularly on the chillier nights! It was perfectly situated to explore both San Francisco and Marin County. Although we did not meet Jim, he communicated clearly and even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy upon our arrival!

    Anna2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and comfortable house with fantastic view! Jim is nice and polite. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and beautiful, we even saw a deer in front of the house. 5 minutes driving to Sausalito downtown and 15 minutes driving to San Francisco. We all have good memory there and hope to stay there again.

    Julia2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a great neighborhood. The view is transfixing -- we found ourselves just sitting on the couch and admiring the bay. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beds are comfortable. We hope to stay here again the next time we're in Sausalito!

Private room located on its own floor with secluded entrance and en suite bathroom. You will find spectacular hiking trails with 360° views of Marin and San Francisco just up the road, and it’s only a 10 minute drive to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Nestled at the base of ring mountain, located in the perfect spot for hiking, biking, exploring or just relaxing, our room offers a comfortable, quiet space and easy access to all Mill Valley and Marin have to offer. Our room is equipped with essentials such as a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress, en suite bathroom, extra plush blankets, a heater, windows, mini fridge, microwave, fresh towels and toiletries, ample drive way parking, Wi-Fi, and a book shelf with books and pamphlets to guide you around Mill Valley’s treasures. Our room is ideal for one or two occupants looking for an accessible and central Mill Valley location. We are conveniently located right off the 101, but not so close as to hear traffic noise. We're also near by a stop for the Marin Airporter (a direct shuttle to/from SFO airport). If you are not planning to have a car during your stay our home also has prime access to a bus stop which can take you to SF, or other parts of Marin. Another great (and beautiful) way to get to the city is to take the ferry from Larkspur or Sausalito across the Bay (more information in the pamphlets provided in your room).
Just up the road from our house begins a beautiful hiking trail up ring mountain. Another favorite spot to take a relaxing walk or even a vigorous run with a spectacular view is Blackie's Pasture. Blackie's takes you all the way to quaint downtown Tiburon. Lot’s of restaurants, a movie theater, ferry rides to Angle Island and oceans views await. Just down the road from our house there is a small shopping center with a Pete's coffee, cute local bakery, market, spa, and amazing Italian restaurant called Milano’s (highly recommended). Across Tiburon Blvd you will find another larger shopping mall called the Strawberry Village with a Safeway, many restaurants, banks, spas, and other shops. All of our neighbors are quiet and friendly so please have respect for them, as they will for you. There are also quite a few things to do seasonally such as the Mountain play and the Mill Valley Film Festival. Check out the pamphlets included in your room for more!

  • Perfect for one or two people. I arrived late at night (car trouble) but Therese was waiting for me. Even at the late hour Therese was cheery and engaging. It wasn't until the next morning that I could see the killer view. The neighborhood is on a hill with winding roads. Try and get there before dark. It is not dangerous. It just takes paying attention.

  • Thank you, Budi. Perfect location near Golden Gate Park and Golden Gate Bridge. The room is big and the bed was wonderful. Sheets, pillows, covers were high quality and so very soft. Slept wonderfully. Parking was splendid. Budi was attentive and very kind. Pat sat down for breakfast with us and told us where to go and what to look out for. We forgot a toy under the sheets. Budi texted me about it and will be mailing out. My son loves that little dragon! How thoughtful of them to keep it and contact me rather than throw it away. Just an example of the kind of people Budi and Pat are. Lovely, kind souls.

  • Budi is a super nice host. Check in was way simple and the location was close to Clement and the park. Cool room, and clean restroom. I caught a glimpse of the backyard which looked very nice. Thanks for the stay, and yes, I would recommend this lodging to other travelers.

We are about an hour from the stunning Point Reyes National Seashore as well .
  • Loved my stay at Liz and Doug's - it was perfect. Great location for our Marin bike trip. Place was sparkling clean - would love to stay again.

    Nicola2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay in Mill Valley! Comfortable beds and very clean. We really enjoyed our stay. The best thing is the location: easy access to Muir Woods, not too far from Stinson Beach, and lots of great restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!

  • Elizabeth’s place is in a great location, has a very comfortable bed with amazing pillows. There’s a nice little outdoor space to enjoy the Marin weather when it’s good. It has everything I need and I hope to return as soon as I can!

    Laurel2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful Airbnb! It's perfectly located near hiking trails and isn't too far to the city. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was amazing. I'd absolutely stay here again!

    Apryl2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect location to go out and explore! It's so clean and the laundry option was great though I didn't need to do any. The space warmed up quickly and stays comfy. My only complaint is the noise coming from upstairs. It's quite amplified with the all wooden floors and thin walls, but if you are leaving during the day it was definitely pretty quiet from about 10p to 7a.

Located in quiet, lovely Sausalito with fab shops & restaurants yet close to all SF has to offer. Like a treehouse with 1 bedroom/1 bath, full kitchen, deck, fireplace, parking & more. Sausalito laws do not allow short-term rentals so I only allow rentals of 30 days or more.
The entire flat is yours. Designer done to be as comfortable as the best boutique hotels but with more space with a full kitchen and off street parking. Recently renovated. Lots of light, nice deck with a partial bay view from the deck. This flat is one level of a peaceful mid-century duplex that feels like a tree house and reveals the bay as you step out the front door. As the City of Sausalito bans short-term rentals, this unit is only available for rentals of 30 days or more. I'm sorry but current limitations within the Airbnb UI do not allow my home to show up if I only list as 30+ days or more -- know that I will not accept short-term rentals as I do not want to subject my guest to additional taxes, fines or harassment. If you want more information on the current short-term rental situation in Sausalito I am happy to provide it but know that it currently is against local laws to rent for less than 30 days. Very nice place for one or two but in a pinch can accommodate up to four family members or good friends. Very comfortable space with high thread-count linens on the queen sized bed (in bedroom) and the couch is queen sized convertible in front of the fireplace. This is the upper unit of a duplex and is approximately 650 square feet plus about 120 square feet of deck space. A great retreat in one of the most sought after spots in the world. Sausalito is a San Francisco Bay Area treasure and this comfortable, stylish home is located 1 mile north of the Golden Gate Bridge. So you have the best of San Francisco available to you in a beautiful quiet setting. An easy launch pad to explore the California coast, Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais and the wine country. Or, you can just spend your time walking around Sausalito exploring the lovely village with its things to do, galleries, great restaurants and shops. Fully furnished featuring Euro kitchen (gas stove, dishwasher, gourmet tools and more), fireplace, high-speed, wifi, flat-screen tv with premium cable & DVD, stereo and a nice deck to dine and relax. Great place for a vacation or to stay for work in the S.F. Bay Area. Sausalito is just over the Golden Gate Bridge or an easy ferry ride to San Francisco and a it is an easy, short trip to the wine county and coast. If you are working in San Francisco your commute is easier and quicker than many S.F. neighborhoods. Off-street parking but you don't need a car with great public transportation just blocks away. Non-smokers only. Will consider pets but due to two recent unfortunate issues with pets I have to take a more restrictive policy considering pets. You will have to agree to additional house rules and an additional deposit. Discounts given for longer stays. This home is an easy walk to the bus or ferry to whisk you to San Francisco or you can stroll the charming waterside village of Sausalito with great restaurants, shops and galleries. Parks, tennis courts, hiking and bike trails are just steps away. The host has lived in the area more than 20 years and will fill you in on all local secrets for whatever your passion is -- wine tasting, yoga, hiking, biking, shopping, food and more.
This flat is in the Old Town section of Sausalito on the South end of town and is 4 blocks from the bay, 1 mile north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a great neighborhood market and is an easy walk to the Center of Sausalito where you will find lots of shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes, yoga studio, movie theatre and two ferries to San Francisco.
  • Amazing location and hospitality. Annie’s place is stylish and comfortable with easy access to SF and all the beauty of Sausalito. I wish I could’ve stayed forever!

    Antonina2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our six week stay was delightful. Friendly and highly picturesque neighborhood provided a very high comfort level and great restaurants. The apartment is cozy but comfortable, clean and efficient. Annie is the perfect hostess. Stayed in phone contact with us late into the evening and made contacts on her own until a TV connection problem caused by a local electric power outage was successfully resolved. Highly recommend!

    Norm2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • My father had an excellent stay at Annie’s place. It’s located in a great part of town and it’s very convenient to San Francisco. The apartment is perfect for a short or extended stay and has everything you would need. Annie is a wonderful host. Very communicative and considerate. Thank you for making my father’s stay so pleasant.

    Wendy2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Annie’s place while we were settling in the Bay Area. The apartment was everything we needed for longer than a month: the kitchen is well-stocked, the whole place is nicely furnished, the surprisingly large deck was great for lounging during the day, the parking was easy, etc. Its location in Sausalito is excellent – just up the hill from Bridgeway with amazing views of the city, Angel Island, and Alcatraz throughout the neighborhood. It’s a quick hop to SF, the Marin Headlands, and the rest of Marin (including a bus stop just down the hill). Annie was a great host. She was super responsive and very clear throughout the whole stay. It really says something that multiple families have ended up living in Sausalito after staying at her place (including yours truly). Highly recommended!

    Robert2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Annie’s home is one of the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. This exceeded every expectation I have ever had for an AirBnB, I wish every listing was as amazing as Annie’s. Besides the space being absolutely amazing, Annie is a wonderful host and a wonderful person. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you have the opportunity to stay here, TAKE IT. Truly a once in a lifetime find.

    Natalie2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Best hostess ever! Annie is personable, flexible, and a great communicator. I could not have asked for a better apartment or hostess. Perfect.

    Ana2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Annie is a wonderful host: thoughtful, responsive, and welcoming. The place is beautiful and very comfortable, and in a great location. The deck is a nice place to be on sunny days (most days) or, if you want an excursion, there is plenty to see and do nearby. I would definitely recommend to anyone considering - one of the best hosts we've had and one of the best places we've stayed.

    James2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Annie's flat is located in a very special neighborhood of Sausalito. There are numerous interesting stores, restaurants, galleries, and other places in this friendly and picturesque neighborhood. The close proximity to San Francisco definitely adds to the allure of Annie's place. Meanwhile her flat is incredibly comfortable. Her furnishings make relaxing quite easy. Meanwhile, her kitchen is modern, incredibly functional, and well stocked to make your meal creation easy. We've stayed in Annie's flat three times and this year's month at Annie's flat once again exceeded our expectations.

  • This house was in a prime location and was super stylish. The beds were comfy and the view was amazing. It was the perfect location and atmosphere for a group of women veterans to stay and connect. The host was friendly and answered all communications quickly and complety. We had a question about the heat (nothing wrong with it just needed to turn it down) and she responded immediately and gave us detailed instructions to complete the task. Will stay again when we're in the area.

  • This is a lovely little cottage conveniently located for exploring Marin and San Francisco. The space is compact but well designed to provide everything to make for a comfortable stay. The bed is comfortable and everything is clean and aesthetically pleasing. There is a small private deck outside with table and chairs. Parking across the street was no problem for us. We walked down to the wonderful Good Earth store for food. It is also possible to access the Mill Valley to Sausalito Bay Path where you can walk through the bay wetlands to Mill Valley or Sausalito. Perfect accommodation for a couple.

Facing south east, sunrise is magnificent for early risers at our rustic mountain retreat. The redwoods provide the air conditioning and historically the mountain is rarely over 75 F degrees. Consider the stairs, uneven trails, and baggage tram before booking. Hot tub and all water property wide is fluoride/chlorine free. The private reservation with bath is listed for registered solo guest and allows an additional fee per additional guest accruing in Airbnb system. Welcome ... adventurer.
Romantic hide-away for one or two., with a cot, three. Unique charming cross between Ewok village, high tech Shire and Olympian Eyre: suitable for the eco tourist, road weary business traveler, honeymooners, bird watchers, tree huggers, athletically /aesthetically inclined artist nerd, exotic dignitaries, celebrity monks, training retreater wanting to experience nature by visit/living an experiment in social future building. In room refrigerator, electric water kettle, toaster oven and private bathroom. Ultimate quiet and privacy with separate entrance and house privileges, kitchen, laundry, hiking/bike trails, ample canyon outdoor parking. WIFI, work on-site office facilities and many unusual options. The room is light filled all day with sumptuous down comforters and natural fiber linens to snuggle in for a long winter's nap. The 130 year-old Heidi house craftsman style mountain bungalow local redwood construction is warmed by radiant heaters and old-fashioned fireplace of the same vintage, letting your imagination time travel to the age of no Golden Gate bridge, dirt main streets - when the Gravity train passed not far from our access trails. History buffs, globetrotters, poets, mycologists, physicists, jam with the achieved musicians and entertainers who frequent this house. The environs of the quaint southern Marin community offers many of the traditional seasonal artsy/athletic events: Mill Valley Film Festival, the famous Dipsea Race, ascending and descending the adjacent ridge, the esteemed annual Old Mill Park Fall Arts Fair, the birth place of mountain biking utilizing the abundance of hiking/biking trails - linking the Bay fronting Porto-fino like Sausalito, to the majestic white sanded Stinson beach coast of the Pacific. Enthusiastic wind surfers, paddle boaters and hang gliders dot the horizon. Jack Kerouac authored Dharma Bums and The Scripture of the Golden Eternity, near the trailhead outside our Canyon entrance. Access by trail to the property or ascend meandering stairs -baggage can go by baggage tram 1/2 way -suggests maximum health benefits. Smoking cigarettes is an unwelcome hazard on the mountain; the parking lot below allows. To fully enjoy the opportunity of being in this piece of paradise, 16 minutes from the Golden Gate Toll Plaza, be prepared to energetically relax. Enjoy chlorine and fluoride free water in our recently repaired hot tub, breathe deep of pollution free air while viewing mountain star visibility - all here for your pleasure and appreciation. Seeing is believing. An invigorating hike to cutesy downtown Mill Valley, or to the iconic Muir Woods might be a bucket list achievement or you might prefer a rental vehicle if you don’t want to walk a mile and a quarter to main thorough fare Miller Ave., for public transportation. Inevitably you will want to stay longer than you have booked. Happy trails. Welcome.
We have a fine and private place and the neighbors do too. We are quite when we return in the late hours. We do not leave debris in anyway in the parking lot. If parking is tight we are most careful to stay away from others’ cars. Neighbors do not enjoy Airbnb guests as much as we do. Interact with neighbors only when invited. All arrival arrangements should be previously established by host and guests.
  • Breathe it in. Those are redwood fumes. Faustin hosts a lovely AirBNB and she's quite the storyteller. Enjoy it as I did.

Full sized appliances, easy parking and a washer and dryer in the unit make it a great rental for an individual or couple with enough room for a visitor to stay over on the comfortable pull out couch.
Our stand alone vintage cottage has wonderful views, and thoughtful furnishing, and art. The cottage was featured in in Elle Decor UK (with it's owners of Heath Ceramics). Heath Ceramics is a historic local pottery located one mile from the cottage. We have a great location for walking to the docks, or to town while being on a quiet residential street (though don't be surprised to hear the barking seals in the spring!). The cottage is about 700 square feet with a very functional floor plan. It has one bedroom (with a queen bed), a living/dining area with a fireplace and beautiful views. (There is a new pull out couch for extra sleeping space, as well as a classic Saarinen womb chair, perfect for curling up in with a good book). There is well equipped small kitchen with full sized appliances and lots of Heath Ceramics, as well as a laundry room. The vintage style bathroom has been carefully renovated to retain it's original design and character. We also provide storage for bikes and luggage available in the garage. Out the front door the patio/outdoor area is landscaped with beautiful plants and a pond it has a small table for two, for eating or just watching the boats go by on the bay. We live in the main home on the property, a separate building, and have a large dog. We welcome pets in the cottage, though there is not a fenced in area with the cottage that is appropriate for pets to roam. We're located in a great area of Sausalito, we're a short walk from Caledonia street, which is the local's part of town with some fantastic food, a great food market, shops and a lovely library. An even closer walk brings you to a sandy beach on the bay, where you can rent a kayak, paddleboard, or just enjoy the weather and water. The ferry dock in Sausalito and tourist area are about a mile walk or drive from the cottage. There is plenty of street parking usually right in front of our property.
Our neighborhood is safe, friendly and rich with history and culture. We also enjoy wonderful weather, with spectacular fog in the summer and a mild winter.
  • The apartment was fantastic, beautifully styled and we felt at home immediately. The view is breathtaking and the hosts are very friendly and generous. I highly recommend staying here.

  • I almost don't want to leave a 5-star review. I don't want anyone else to come to this place. I want it all to myself! Fantastic cottage. Fantastic hosts. Fantastic location. Fantastic summer.

  • Cathy's cottage was the perfect place for our 7-week stay in Sausalito. Thank you so much!

  • I agree with the other reviewers’ comments. This is a very nice rental. The cottage is attracrively furnished, just like the photos show. It is well-equipped with upscale appliances, eco-friendly products, and Heath Ceramics dinnerware. We enjoyed the location with a quiet street with a bay view. Also, it’s walking distance to most things in Sausalito, including the San Francisco ferry.

  • The cottage is beautiful and tastefully furnished. It's cosy and charming. Once we have unpacked and settled down it felt like home already. Catherine and Robin are great hosts and they are very responsive to any question we might have. The neighborhood is very quiet and yet it is accessible to all the daily necessities. It's very easy to go to San Francisco and to explore the Marin county. It's a rare property that truly feels like home.

  • Cathy was great to work with throughout the process and made sure we got in without an issue. Great little cottage. We stayed 8 nights and it never seemed "small" for the two of us. It was a great gateway to both Marin and Wine Country, and SF.

  • This cottage is in a great location - really nice views from the large lounge room, and a nice little outside area as well. 5 minute walk from the water. Very nicely furnished and decorated, with everything you could ask for made available.

Her house is gorgeous, spotless less clean, and the location is epic. The bed has lovely linens and is super comfy! This place is excellent value for money.

  • It’s not the first time I am staying here, this place is very convenient and well located! Perfect for a short trip!

    Lilian2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I give it 5 stars. Like everyone said, this hotel is old, shabby, and has a slight smell. I knew that going in so it was no surprise. My room was clean, comfortable, I had no issues, the parking is free, and the wifi is fine. It’s a decent price for downtown SF. It’s in a good location as I was able to walk to the Pier to catch the ferry to Angel Island (highly recommend hiking the route described on bahiker.com). There’s a great brunch spot around the corner called The New Spot on Polk.

    Anandh2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
