Places to stay in Pulham Saint Mary
Head out on Angles Way and follow the Waveney river valley for an idyllic countryside stroll or take a trip to the beautiful Suffolk coast, then light the fire and curl up under the beams. Featured in a host of magazines, this bucolic abode combines period features and chic, contemporary design.
Ivywood cottage is medieval in age, but contemporary in design, with luxurious finishes and fine detailing. The house is in a unique rural setting and was once part of the Gawdy Hall Estate. The house sits next to a beautiful 15th century church, set within a 3 acre church yard. Glorious and plentiful Waveney Valley walks in all directions.
The cottage is a short picturesque drive from the coastal gems of Southwold and Aldeburgh. Harleston and Bungay are quintessential English towns with charming independent stores, delis, family butchers, bistro cafes, pubs, restaurants, and tea shops.
  • Great hosts in a fantastic cottage, would definitely recommend!

  • This cottage was beautiful. Laura and James have made an effort to artfully design the space tastefully. There were amazing details and industrial features that worked beautifully with the heritage cottage. The bedding and linens were out of this world! Everything I need for a weekend away. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the surrounding county’s. Have already recommended to friends!

  • Ivywood cottage is a beautiful and special place to stay. It’s cosy and elegant at the same time, and the building itself is full of history and character. Laura was a very friendly host, and all arrangements were easy to sort out. I highly recommend staying at Ivywood cottage.

  • We had a lovely weekend getaway at Ivywood cottage. The whole house is so stylishly decorated, spacious and comfortable. Laura and James were on hand if we needed them and even left us a lovely cake! We can’t wait to come back! X

  • Ivywood cottage is an outstanding Airbnb property. We had high expectations and they were all meet and exceeded. A great place for a relaxing weekend. Laura and James were very hospitable. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

  • We fell in love with the cottage as soon as we walked through the front door. It's been beautifully restored, full of character and style but also filled with all the special touches that make it unique. Our stay was one of peace and relaxation, we spent lazy evenings in front of the log burner, soaking in the gorgeous bath and exploring the local area, with plenty of cake along the way. I really can't recommend the cottage highly enough, it was perfect from start to end. A huge thanks to James and Laura for sharing their home and giving us the child free escape we needed. If you like sloping brick floors, comfy sofas, exposed beams, wood burners, light, space and original features then you will like the Dairy. An annexe to a Tudor farmhouse it was converted in 2013 and is now a spacious 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom holiday home with a double height open plan living space on the ground floor. Children and dogs are very welcome. Egyptian cotton sheets, fresh towels and wifi provided (it's a pretty good connection - as much as you can guarantee these things - but do check with us first if you want to download films etc). There's a basket of logs for the fire and books and dvds; refreshments too so you can start to relax as soon as you arrive. Everything you might need to know about the Dairy is in the welcome manual and have a look at the airbnb guide which gives tips about shopping and local sightseeing activities too. If you prefer the human touch we are just next door and happy to help and to share what we know about the local area with you. In the middle of rural Suffolk we are: 20 minutes away from Diss, which has direct trains to London (90mins). 15 minutes away from Framlingham. A pretty market town (market on Tuesday and Saturday) with a lovely castle 25 minutes away from the coast: pebble beaches, sandy beaches, nature reserves, bustling seaside towns of Southwold with its pier, cafes and beach huts and Aldeburgh (40 mins drive away) with fresh fish and summer festivals. 25 minutes from Thetford forest. Bressingham steam museum, mid Suffolk light steam railway, the Owl and Camel sanctuary and Easton Farm Park are all in easy reach for family fun. As for getting around there are buses but we are in the country so you can go anywhere but it'll be a week before the bus returns! If you bring bikes we have an outbuilding that you can store them in and there is a reliable taxi service. We have a local store, a butcher and baker in the village a library, gym, swimming pool and tennis courts too - all within 5 minutes walk of the dairy. The village has 3 pubs, with two of them serving food as well. To make the most of your stay we recommend a car but if you are after a short getaway there is lots to do in a short walking distance of the Dairy and taxis at Diss railway station. KitchenFacilities: Dishwasher, Coffeemaker, Microwave, Fridge, Toaster, Double Oven, Hob,Grill. Washing machine and outside sink (for washing dogs or wellies) in next door outbuilding. Entertainment: LCD TV - Freeview with integrated DVD Player, Books, Games and DVDs, retro radio and Ipod dock. Courtyard garden: table and four chairs and a bench too. Highchair, Travel cot and toys available on request. Off street parking for 2 cars.

  • Wow ... myself and my boyfriend stayed at The Dairy for our 3 year anniversary. We wanted to have a cosy weekend for too out and away from busy London - nestled in the countryside ... and this cottage fit that brief perfectly! From checking in to checking out our stay was wonderful and the hosts were very attentive. We loved sitting by the log burner with a cup of tea and biscuits wrapped in a warm blanket. The wooden beams, fairy lights and soft furnishings created the perfect atmosphere to relax. We definitely would love to come back for another stay in the future! X

  • Stunning property! Cosy and perfect for a weekend away

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A charming, quiet and cosy spot, full of character - even lovelier than it looks in the photos - on the edge of a little village. We spent two nights at the Diary and would’ve loved to have stayed longer. Really clean and well-equipped for self-catering, comfortable beds, plenty of DVDs, books and games, and some thoughtful welcome treats. Kate was there to meet us and gave us tips on the local pubs, bakery and butchers. The log burner was an added bonus and was stacked and ready to light. Can’t recommend this place enough.

    Gabrielle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful short stay was had at The Dairy. Its incredibly cosy and well located to explore the local area.

    Sorcha2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cosy and all round ideal country escape. Kate and her husband were so friendly and went out of their way to help make our stay special. The dairy is so historic and has such a great feel, largely due to the Moroccan and rustic furnishings, as well as the beams and amazing wood burner. Really well located to explore the suffolk coast, we hope to return as soon as we can!

    Isabel2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The dairy is the perfect place to go away for some relaxation. The village is lovely and location to loads of great places is fantastic. The dairy is stylish and comfortable and there was plenty of room for four of us! Thanks again Kate will return.

    Sam2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the Dairy with my girlfriend for two nights and we loved it. The Dairy was rustic but very clean and well furnished, with all the facilities you’d need for a short stay. The log burner was a great bonus in February. Stradbroke is a lovely village with a nice local bakery, village shop and pubs. It is easy to get to from the A140 and has great access to other villages and their own little shops and pubs. We visited the Swan in Hoxne, the Old Kings Head in Brockdish and the Ivy House in Stradbroke itself and had a great time at each.

    Daniel2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful couple of nights for our wedding. Had a wonderful nights sleep infront of the wood burner with the fairy lights above us.

Hot tub and sauna are great, but definitely recommend the on site hot stones and massage, what a fabulous extra to relax and unwind. Highly recommend and hope to go back very soon. John, the host is great in terms of communication and answering any questions quickly and efficiently. Thank you John, for recommending the White Horse Inn, great food and a discount card is a lovely bonus! We went for a girls weekend, though perfect for couples or family chill out time. I will be back...think of the film 'Holiday' and you will hope for snow when stay!

Chris was a very gracious host, he showed us where everything was located. The local pub, The Half Moon is a definite must to visit. Our stay was short, but it was perfect and we will definitely return for a longer stay.

The Barn sleeps up to 8 people, with views over the countryside, a large garden, outdoor hot tub and BBQ. It's a 'get away from it all' place. Chill out and stay put, or visit Framlingham, Norwich or Cambridge. We're near Thetford Forest and the coast at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Minsmere. There are traditional English pubs all around us serving Suffolk ales and great food. Family and dog friendly, wheelchair accessible and suitable for solo business travellers. We're 90 mins by train to London.
The Barn has been renovated from a stable block and woodsheds into a modern and spacious living space. It's rural, single level (no stairs) and brilliant for groups, families, couples and business travellers. There's a large garden, hot tub, living/dining space, games room, comfy beds, cooking space and lots to do locally and further afield. We sleep 7 in 'proper' beds and 2 on a sofa bed. When the weather's fine, you live outdoors, when it's not, we have what you need to hunker down indoors!
Many people come just to spend time at the property, using the hot tub, playing games indoors, reading, sitting in the garden or playing games on the lawn. Others come to explore. The Suffolk coast at Southwold and Aldeburgh is very accessible from us and is a very popular choice for a day trip. Thorndon is our nearest village (just under a mile away), with a lovely pub called The Black Horse. Eye is our nearest town (one mile way), with supermarkets, butchers, greengrocers, delicatessen, coffee shops, a chocolate shop (yum!), estate agents, hardware store, hairdressers, beauty therapists, Chinese and Italian takeaways, doctor's surgery, community hospital and library. Diss and Stradbroke are close by, with more facilities including swimming pools and restaurants. We have some lovely pubs around us where you can get seriously good food. Our local fish and chip shop in Eye serves delicious fresh fish.
  • Lovely place in the Suffolk countryside ! The hot tub worked great and it was great for a relaxing quiet weekend away.

    Amy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place, not only the barn but the surrounding area, it was such a peaceful and relaxing weekend! The barn was clean and had everything you needed, with some lovely finishing touches to make you feel welcome! I will definitely be recommending it to friends and family who want a relaxing weekend away, just a shame I couldnt stay longer and explore some of the country side. The host was lovely, made sure everything was okay, her dog was also friendly and lovely!

    Megan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • I came to the barn with 7 friends for my 30th celebration and couldn’t have asked for a better place! From the start Helen was helpful, sending an information booklet of the accommodation and local area at booking. The space was brilliant, and the house has lots of games and is stocked well with kitchen equipment to cater for 8 people. We cooked for 8 one evening and had enough kitchen utensils for this. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and made use of it regularly over our stay! We had a lovely walk recommended by Helen. She was at the end of the phone if we needed anything. Thank you for a lovely stay Helen!

    Sophie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

  • Had a festive weekend with friends! Couldn’t have wanted more, hot tub was fantastic and the place was very nicely decorated and had a lovely cosy family room and large dining table - suitable for up to 10 people. The surrounding area was beautiful and it was lovely to see the horses in the morning. Such a great get away in the country side. Could not recommend Priory Barn more! Thanks again for everything! Xx

The accommodation is a 2 bedroom first floor flat with kitchen, cosy living area, and bathroom. Sleeps 5, but can take 6. Excellent broadband. It was the hayloft above an old carriage house, with stables either side of a courtyard. Guests use our front door, with a private door off the hall leading to the accommodation. A peaceful setting in pretty village, with a pub, a short drive to Diss. We live on the ground floor. Large garden, good parking.
The entire first floor of our house. A door off the hall leads to the staircase. There is a spacious landing, off which are 2 bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/ living room area, and a bathroom with spa bath and shower. The living room area has a large HD TV, with freeview channels, sofa, and armchairs. There is a recently installed kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. with plenty of utensils, pots, pans and crockery/cutlery. Guests can also use our washing machine, tumble dryer, on request.
Gissing is a small village about 5 miles from the market town of Diss. There is no shop in Gissing, nor the immediate surrounding villages, but we have a lively traditional village pub ( a 5 minute stroll away) which serves typical pub food (booking is advisable) as well as real ales. In the next village, Burston, (2 miles) is a gastro pub, slightly more expensive, but the food is lovely. It also has a nice garden. Again, we would advise booking. There are various other good pubs in the surrounding villages. Diss has a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants, and a selection of takeaways which will deliver. There is a folder in the living room with details and menus. The nearest shops/supermarkets are in Diss and Long Stratton, about 10 minutes away by car. Diss is famous for the Mere, a lake in the middle of the town with an adjacent park. There are numerous attractions further afield, from Snetterton motor racing track, Banham Zoo, Center Parcs, Newmarket, Southwold, Aldeburgh and the coast, the Norfolk Broads, and of course the historic cities of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds. It is an ideal area for walking and cycling.
  • We found the accommodation very homely, quiet and peaceful in the area. We would gladly like to come again for a relaxing break.

  • I just want to let you know that I needed accommodation for the month of January, and found David and Judith's place on Airbnb, which was close to my work. They were so welcoming and accommodating throughout my stay, in every way! I would recommend the Hayloft to anyone with no doubts that you will be back to stay! I hope to be back next year too! Stella

    Stella 2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • David and Judith's place was absolutely first class. We had access and our own privacy to the whole upstairs with kitchen and a very nice living room. We also had a choice of two bedrooms to stay in as well. There were board games available, homemade loaf of bread and many other kind touches that really made this place such a pleasure to stay at. My girlfriend and I cannot recommend this place highly enough! We'd give more stars if it was possible :)

    Rhys2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality from friendly, flexible hosts. We were delayed and arrived late in the evening but David kindly greeted us and showed us around. This is a great place for families and my kids enjoyed the imaginative decor in their rooms and nice touches throughout! If you have any reservations about this space being above David and Judith’s home you needn’t worry - once there you will not notice. This is a nice place in a quiet location - we would happily stay there again.

    Jason2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little family space with great facilities. David and Judith have a lovely, friendly cat and dog which our two year old loved. We arrived to find milk, bread, butter, jam, cereal and Homemade cakes which was very much appreciated - especially due to the remote location. We would definitely stay here again. X

  • The cottage is quaint (good), cozy and comfortable. It was as described. The location is very good, and the village has everything you need, including a nice community centre open all days that served coffee. Pubs in Pulham Market are superb, especially the Crown (make sure you ask for the free main meal when you pay first time, they sometimes forget to offer it). Thoroughly recommended.

    Rob2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay - especially seeing the fields and birds from the back window and using the cottage as a base for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The cottage was well-equipped and very well located. The neighbours were lovely. The bedroom gets quite light in the mornings as there aren't blinds on the skylight, and as others have said, some of the doorways are low, but as quite a tall man I was fine with ducking! Pulham St Mary is a small village but it has a good local shop and community centre/cafe (the Pennoyer), and you can safely walk to Pulham Market where there are two pubs. That said, we benefited from having a car to make the most of the local area.

Built around 1870 The Stables at Hempnall House is a luxurious two bedroom property surrounded by gardens, woods and fields yet only 20 minutes drive from central Norwich, the capital of East Anglia with a wide variety of amenities, shops and entertainment. Converted in 2018 The Stables has two bedrooms, a bathroom and separate shower room. High quality fittings have been used throughout whilst the original beams and stable doors lend a touch of authentic charm
Either the terrace, overlooking our private wood, or the sofa in front of the wood burner (unlimited logs are included), are the perfect places to relax and take in the view. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, small oven and microwave, fridge and a full sized dishwasher. There is an abundance of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Why not invite your friends to dinner, the dining table seats six (or eight)! Our chickens provide a point of interest and sometimes even eggs. Children are encouraged to see if there are any. There is a gas barbecue available for your use. Hosts Kate and Colin live on site but you'll be the only people in the stables. They enjoy meeting guests and sharing their country home and grounds. We have parking for two cars outside The Stables, and adequate broadband. Secure cycle storage is available
A bridle path leads directly from the property to Hempnall, about a mile away, where there is a butcher and delicatessen, a well stocked shop, newsagent and post office (open, amazingly from 6am to 9pm seven days a week) and a petrol station. An artisan baker offers a selection of loaves every Saturday, ask for details. There is a popular community bar in the Old Mill which opens every Friday and Saturday evening. The Three Horseshoes public house, ten minutes walk away, is well known for its Sunday lunchtime carvery. The local Indian restaurant delivers, minimum spend £20

A rural retreat, rather than a farm stay. The home offers far reaching views over the Norfolk countryside. This space has a large private garden, with birds, bees and flowers. An introduction to bee keeping is available on request. Wood Lane is a peaceful open area of South Norfolk, yet only five minutes from the small market town of Harleston, thirty from Norwich city centre and fifty minutes to Southwold beach. Sorry, no pets.

Welcome to my space. It is a three-bedroom end-terraced house in a quiet residential area with fairly eclectic interior decor including a number of plants, pieces of artwork, books and a substantial collection of interesting bottles and other artefacts!
The spacious bedroom is peaceful and overlooks the back garden (a slight work in progress currently, but the birdsong is lovely!). There is a DAB radio, a comfy reading nook and soft lighting for a relaxed stay. The bathroom has a shower over a large bath.
Eye is a beautiful little town with many amenities. There is a Town Trail walk which highlights the history and important features of the town. The local pub, The Queen's Head, is very welcoming and serves delicious food and craft ales. There are a good selection of takeaways including chinese, pizza/kebab and amazing chip shop. There are also a number of cafés; Cocoa Mama is also a chocolatier with a lovely gift shop adjoining and Beard's Deli offers light sit-down meals and a great range of wines and cheeses to buy (need I say more!). There are also a wealth of local shops typical of quaint English towns. Another little luxury in the town is "Life & Sole", which offers holistic therapies such aa reflexology, reiki and massage.

My home is next door to a delightful cafe which opens from 10 to 3pm and serves lunchtime meals.
In the Conservation area of Harleston, the house is over 400 years old retaining many original features but completely up to date for the 21st century. There are stairs up to the bedroom and en suite with a door which keeps it private.
Harleston is a town with many listed buildings, mine being one of them. It is thriving and a very friendly place. 'Harleston Future' is a good link if you would like to see the many activities that occur. We have regular excellent Amateur and Youth performances held at the secondary school. The is a leisure centre and in the school there is a swimming pool which the public can use at certain times and an excellent recreation ground which hosts many of the town 'get together' activities on bank holidays. We have the option of several restaurants and hotels that serve food. Regular informative walks are available that some of our knowledgable residents run giving the history and unique qualities of the yards and ancient coach inns in the town. We have several fishing and/or sailing lakes close by and many lovely walks some close to the River Waveney.
  • The sweetest host i've ever met. Very clean place and had such a lovely time during the whole stay.

  • This stay was amazing. Sheila was very welcoming and we had a lovely chat as we checked in. She was very attentive to our needs and gave us special dietary requested items which I thought was very sweet of her. There was a lot of small lovely touches to the room that made the whole experience very rememberable. She gave us lots of recommendations as where to eat and go for coffee and there was also different maps and tour guide options on the side table as we went in. She was one of the loveliest people I’ve met and would 100% recommend staying at this charming accommodation.

  • Sheila's home is just what you want after a day's activity in Norfolk. The room and ensuite are full of lovely little touches, most important the bed is large and comfy and a fantastic spacious ensuite. Great views out onto the garden. The location can't be bettered. Sheila, herself, is very friendly and relaxed, very approachable and nothing is too much bother. hope all goes well for the future cause I very much plan on revisiting.

  • Again perfect place, thank you!!

  • If you are visiting Suffolk and you need a place to stay while you look around Harleston is a great option and Sheila's house is the best place. A house full of history and a host with full of good stories to listen to. A wonderful garden were you will always find the company because it serves almost as a B&B for birds. They love to come by and if you stay long enough you will start to recognize them. The location of the house could not be better, being very close to one of the FREE car parks in Harleston and in the center of the town you will be near everything. There are plenty of hidden corners for you to explore and the host will be very happy to point you the the right direction if you are looking for something. The breakfast is at your choice on a self service style but she will provide you with everything you need and will give special attention to your personal taste, you have a fridge in the room if you want a cold drink at night and you also have kettle and toaster. The bathroom is great with bathtub or shower, very modern with good ventilation and and clear colours that made me feel like I was in a different place. A great experience with a great host, no doubt.

  • For me, I don't think I could have had a better experience of accomodation than Sheila's place. It's a lovely and spacious medieval cottage right in the centre of a beautiful small market town. It has a lovely courtyard garden with both sun and shade, even a pond with a frog. I used the room as a base to explore on foot the local town, and to drive through Norfolk and Suffolk to explore the area by car. There's great coffee and meals right next door and interesting shops. Next time I'm in the region, I'll be happy to stay here again. Sheila is very helpful with whatever is needed, good company and respectful of privacy. It often felt like I had the house to myself. I can't recommend it enough.

  • Enchanting, comfortable and peaceful accommodation with views to the pretty garden and a lovely big comfy bed. Sheila is a delightful, welcoming, thoughtful, helpful and kind host. We found Harleston to be a very pleasing and friendly town with plenty of places to eat and drink and good parking. Not far from the A143 it makes a great base for exploring the area. In short we had a wonderful break and didn't want to leave!

We are situated in an idyllic rural location, surrounded by country lanes and fields with stunning views over the Norfolk countryside. The area is perfect for anyone interested in walking and cycling in the beautiful Waveney Valley. The property dates back to early 19 century and has been restored to a high standard with modern finishes to make your stay comfortable at any time of year.
The bedroom has a king-size bed and a large wardrobe with plenty of storage space. The bedroom then leads in a spacious bathroom/shower room. Fresh towels and bedding are supplied. The living room has a wood burning stove (logs supplied), a comfortable sofa and armchair. There is a small kitchen table for enjoying relaxing meals. Part of the kitchen has the original brick floor which is slightly uneven but we feel adds to the charm. Please note the ceiling height of the kitchen is 6' 5½". There is also a small entrance hall where shoes can be stored under the bench and there are hooks for hanging coats.
There are good local pubs selling Adnams ale along with beer from local micro-breweries, good food and plenty of local history including the 100th Bomb Memorial Museum which is a 15 minute walk from The Nest.

  • Perfect for a mini break, in the countryside away from everything. Made full use of the log burner and BBQ available (shop for food prior to arriving unless eating out). Walks in the fields nearby and not too long a drive from the coast. Very warm, welcoming and helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend this Jack and Lucy’s space to others and would love to return at some point.

  • Such a beautiful Airbnb! My friend and I spent a lovely couple of days at Jack and Lucy's beautiful converted barn and it is JUST as lovely in real life. You are surrounded by peaceful fields & pretty views. The converted barn is so cosy, perfect for us & even though it was May, the weather was still rather cold so the warm heaters were definitely much appreciated. Jack is an incredible host, always quick to respond to any queries plus gave us some great advice and tips on places to go. On our last night we took advantage of the lovely log fire which Jack kindly lit for us (thank you for also letting us use your microwave to reheat our leftovers!) The fairly lights come on in the evening giving a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this delightful little hideaway & would love to return again sometime! Thanks again Jack and Lucy!

  • Lovely cottage, very private. Gorgeous views. Lovely waking up in the morning to see the cows plodding past the cottage. Fully equipped kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left. 2 mile walk to the pub the Fox and hounds at Great Moulton, the food was very good. It’s definitely a place we’d like to come back to.

  • Sarah’s place is lovely. Floor to ceiling glass all along one wall makes it gorgeously bright, but it also feels warm and cosy with nice decor, a couple of sofas and good heating. We enjoyed the nice spacious dimensions inside up to the roof and beams. Our baby son was very happy in the space as well. Sarah was very welcoming, but you also very much have your own space and privacy which was great.

    Sebastian2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was wonderful and immaculate. Amazing view to wake up to!

    Ben2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy little place, tucked away in unspoilt countryside. Garden Cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean, and with its large windows, offers a beautiful view over the Norfolk countryside. It is beautifully appointed. The bed and sofas are comfortable and there is everything you need such as a washing machine and dishwasher. The garden is small but very pretty. Sarah was very efficient and replied to any query promptly. The milk and biscuits on arrival were a nice touch too. I would highly recommend the Garden Cottage for a few days away from the hustle and bustle.

    Catherine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place was incredibly peaceful. We had a very relaxing couple of days looking out over the fields. A perfect place to decompress

    Tom2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s cottage is a wonderful cosy haven away from all noise & distractions. It’s got everything a couple might need, or family with a little child, to properly chill out. It is clean, well appointed, with comfy beds & sofas. Nicely decorated & furnished yet homely with books, games, tea milk & biscuits, we felt we were properly on a secret escape holiday. Amazing views, it really offers value for money. Sarah is quick with communication, full of details and suggestions, so we could easily plan our stay even when we arrived much later than expected & needed urgent advice on where to get dinner! Despite getting there in the dark, Sarah’s instructions meant we had no problems finding the rural location or accessing the property. We found Sarah to be very friendly, she respected privacy whilst also making herself available to help. We will ask to book again, and will probably also consider Sarah’s other larger accommodation on site for a bigger family stay in future.

The Granary is a cosy little cottage with exposed beams. It has a kitchen and living room with wood burner and underfloor heating. Upstairs is a good sized bedroom with double bed and bathroom. It has its own private garden and parking.
The Granary is a very cosy little cottage built in around 1800. It has been renovated over the past 3 years which includes underfloor heating, Double glazing. You can look out of the french doors to see open fields and lay in bed and see the stars.
Hardwick is a very small village with no shop or pub. Although there is a farm shop with a cafe about 2 miles away. The nearest supermarket is at Long Stratton which is 2.5miles away. Hardwick is very rural ideal for a nice peaceful break.
  • The cottage is a gem. Comfortable, cosy, very tastefully decorated, incredibly clean. A superb place for relaxing.

  • This was our second stay, as it is such a lovely, homely little cottage full of amenities. The fire heats the space very quickly and I’d recommend the Chinese takeaway in Long Stratton :) We will be back again and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

  • Lovely, quirky, cottage that was a pleasure to stay in. One note is that if you are over 6ft the shower might involve a bit of twisting to get into! Very nice stay.

  • If you are needing a peaceful and relaxing retreat in the countryside then this is the perfect place. Clean and tastefully decorated with everything you could need including thoughtful extras. The wood burning stove, where the wood was supplied for us was wonderful adding to the cosiness of this pretty little getaway.

  • Myrtle cottage is a lovely quirky place to stay. Everything you'd want in a small country cottage. The essentials all there...good WiFi connection, widescreen TV with Netflix, clean modern kitchen, hot shower worked well, despite previous reviews, bed very comfortable and cottage clean throughout. For us, the cosy, beamed living room with huge coach and great log burner particularly enjoyable with a glass of wine for a romantic evening! Rob, the host, was extremely pleasant and helpful. Communication was excellent and he enquired regularly if we had any concerns or queries and supplied extra wood as needed. The place was welcoming from the beginning with log fire burning and several thoughtful touches. Friendly Pub just across the road. Definitely will return and recommend friends and family. Thank you Rob. We had a wonderful relaxing few days.

  • The cost atmosphere was perfect for our short getaway; we were instantly comfortable and relaxed. The fire was very warming, and set the ambience for a lovely, romantic evening. Everything was easy to find/use, and little extras meant we had almost everything we could need. And the super comfortable bed meant a good night's sleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will book again in the future!

Part of a converted barn, situated down a country lane in a rural location. A cosy and comfortable cottage on a working farm. The barn has a spacious open plan living area with oak flooring, a wood burner and large comfortable sofas. Sleeps 4 in a King with an unusual mezzanine bedroom with a balcony overlooking the living room and this room leads through to a Twin room. Well-appointed kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, oven and washing machine. Downstairs shower room with heated towel rail.
The Barn is beautifully furnished and presented and our guests love the homely but spacious feel inside. It’s a home away from home with a log burner and comfy sofas to relax and unwind. We are located on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in a rural location. From here it’s approx 45 min drive to Southwold on the Suffolk coast or Great Yarmouth on the Norfolk Coast or alternatively a similar distance up to the Norfolk Broads. We always have some tourist brochures available in the cottage if you need some ideas of places to visit during your stay.
