Places to stay in Placerville
I love this "Down Valley " area of Telluride. It is a 17 minutes drive up river to downtown Telluride. Our riverfront deck sits right on the San Miguel. If you leave your bedroom window open you can hear it all night long. Being at 7500 feet, Fall Creek, is also nicer if you want an easy altitude adjustment!
You will LOVE the sound of the river flowing by and echoing off the redrock cliffs. This is a brand new architectural remodel with a contemporary flair and gorgeous design. Double-sided fireplace, warm bathroom in-floor heat. Easy access to fishing, hiking, rafting, biking, and the splendor of the Telluride Region. Extensive mini kitchen included. Great Monthly Discounts! Ask About Them. It is brand new, and steps to the San Miguel River. How to get there: ¼ Mile more brings you to a large dirt turnout with a telephone pole on the edge. The driveway to 22071 is right there. Follow the U turn of the driveway to the last of the 3 houses- It has two painted garage doors with aspen leaves. Walk down the left side of the house to the Garden Apartment Entry. The lights will be on. This is a private 900 sf garden apartment. Walk to the left of the house towards the river. I will be available on my Cell 970 728-0600) Quiet residential area, 17 minutes from downtown Telluride. The town of Sawpit has gas and a small market. Placerville also has a small market There is local bus service to town during day hours. Look up Galloping Goose in Telluride. There are 5 buses daily and 3 on weekends. Going to Telluride you can flag the bus (EMAIL HIDDEN)ing from Telluride, the bus will drop you off at Fall Creek Road, 1/4 mile NE of the house. There is a Fresh Water Fish Tank in the living room. Please shut the light at with the remote aimed at the back right corner of the top at night. In the morning turn the light back on, and feed 1 pinch of fish food. Thank You . This way I will not have to enter your space.
"Down Valley" Sawpit and Fall Creek, are riverfront homes north on Highwy 145 from Telluride. We call it "down" because the elevvation is 7500' instead of 8750' in Telluride! It is a 17 minute river front drive to Telluride
  • Amazing place. The pictures on Airbnb don’t do it justice.

  • Not much I can add to what others have said, the reviews are accurate. Very comfortable, super nice downstairs apartment with high quality finishes, and the sound of the river is something special. The place was perfect for my week of snowboarding.

  • Clean, clean, clean and so convenient. This little place is a perfect spot for those that want to have some space from town, and a peaceful comfortable stay. Polly was very clear on comms. The place is alongside a river and about 15 minutes out of town, which is perfect. Free parking for skiing downtown and a rental car from montrose was the most cost effective way to visit telluride. Thank you! We will be back.

  • Such an awesome space to relax and unwind while being close to Telluride. Defiantly recommend this space for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the outdoors and return to unwind with a hot tub soak and river tranquility.

    Hector2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquility along the creek, quiet, romantic, large and comfy for a couple and super close to the mountain and telluride! Perfect cozy get away!

    Stacey2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Polly's garden apartment is the best Airbnb property I've ever come across. The decor is very comfortable and cozy. The double-sided fireplace was a wonderful addition to our stay, as a winter storm moved in. The very best part of the rental was the access to the hot tub, which is right on the river, with the opposite river bank towering above us. What a fantastic offering. We highly recommend!

    Tammy2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous property, the pics don’t do it justice. The owner Polly was helpful, responsive, accommodating & her space is so inviting. It is right next to the San Miguel River with absolutely gorgeous views. We loved how it was off the beaten path of Telluride, the perfect amount of seclusion & luxury but also only 15-20mins drive to the ski/downtown. The kitchenette was simple & perfect for what we wanted during our trip. The place felt very spacious, clean & warm. We will absolutely be re-visiting this property in the summertime! Highly recommended!

A custom mountain home with a lived in feel 30 minutes from Telluride.
The house was designed and built by me in the late 90's. There's crafty touches throughout. The master bedroom takes up the entire second floor with shower and whirlpool tub, over 300 square feet. I don't have photo's yet of the third bedroom but it's more of a kids room with a twin bed, it's close to the second bedroom with queen bed. There's radiant in floor/ in wall.... heat throughout. The wood burning stove cannot be used, sorry. The house sits on 25 acres with meadows, aspens and spruce. No close neighbors / barking dogs, things like that. Pretty peaceful.
The house sit's on 25 acres, with wildlife as your neighbor.
  • Very nice home and David is a great host. Limited cell service

    Ryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • First, David's place has awesome woodwork that he did himself. Fun to see creativity come out with making your own trim, doors, railings, and little cubbies for practical storage all over the place. Some of the biggest perks for me: Gas stove (not electric); Beds are very, very comfortable; Master bath has a deep tub with jets and house has super hot water; and in floor heating, very nice. David has labeled many things all over the house to make finding things easy. very helpful in the kitchen.

    Colby2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • David has a beautiful house that obviously reflects his personality and creativity. It was a wonderful few nights away from home in the mountains with good friends! I wish more pictures were posted because it is truly and incredible and comfortable space!

    Megan2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Beds are comfy, everything was clean, and communication was very easy. Would certainly rent again.

    Michael2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • David's cabin is cozy, warm and just off the beaten path enough that it has a great, rural feel without all the inconvenience of being an hour or more from Telluride (or Ridgeway). The wood work in the house is very cool and the house feels both hand built AND well built - a pleasantly surprising combination. It's 28 minutes to Car Henge lot (the free one in Telluride) and the drive in and out is always beautiful. The house does not have internet, which I consider to be a boon since we're traveling with kids and it helps get them to use their imaginations, talk to one another, and generally be more social.

    Brad2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great vacation for our family. The house was warm (and literally the tiled floors too!) and spacious for our family of 5. Access to Telluride ski was easy and affordable. The owner maintained the driveway for us during snowfall and had good access during the winter.

    Jeff2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect secluded spot.

A small ( 12x22) rustic cabin circa 1900? That has been lovingly restored into a cozy abode. There is an outdoor shower and out house, and s comfortable covered porch with rocking chairs. Indoors is s queen size bed, country table with 2 chairs, wood burning stove with plenty of firewood, and kitchen with hot and cold running water, small fridge, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven and coffee maker.
Guests are welcome to roam the 40 acres with pond and dock. Plenty of cycling or walking on the country roads. Good crowd of the surrounding mountains from the deck, but also hiking in the Mnt. Sneffels wilderness area up Last dollar rd. About 5 miles from the cabin.
No nearby neighbors, very private and secluded.
  • Rustic, convenient, and filled with character! The cabin is well-stocked with kitchen amenities, firewood, and comfortable bedding. It’s quiet and beautiful with meadow and mountain views—and even a private pond a few feet away. We loved the outdoor shower experience, the cozy wood-burning stove, and visiting the outhouse under brilliant starry skies. It’s close to Ouray and Telluride for day adventures, but far enough away to hear a bird’s wings flying overhead when you are ready to unwind at night. It’s a special place—and sure to be remembered.

    Erika2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • I have spent 4 starry nights at Glen's cabin. The view is great. The cabin is well equipped and cosy. The communication with Glen was accurate and simple.

    Oron2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with a beautiful view.

    Russell2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to really get away and wake up every morning to amazing mountain views or go swimming in your own private pond, Glen's cabin is where you should stay. This was our second time staying here and this place has easily become one of my wife's and my favorite spots to be. Check in/out is very easy. All the basic necessities but what more could you want with views like that right off your front porch. Can't recommend this enough!

    Alyson2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in the cabin. It was quiet and remote but also very easy to get into telluride from the cabin.

    Stephen2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was the cutest place we have ever stayed at. It’s about a 20 minute drive up a dirt hill. We took our Dodge Charger so getting up the actual drive-way scraped the bottom, but you can avoid that from happening.. near the middle of the driveway the tire tracks are deep so you need to drive with your left wheel in the center of the driveway track and your right wheel on the RIGHT side of the drive way edge (Just watch for rocks). The sink water doesn’t stay hot for long so I suggest boiling your water for the shower outside, it worked best for us! The view is so breathtaking, it was totally worth our drive! It also has really cute cushioned rocking chairs out front, the best part of the cabin! Perfect view of the Rockies!

    Danyel2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin!! Close to Telluride and awesome view of Wilson’s point from front porch.

    Jess2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin with breathtaking views about 30 min from Telluride downtown. Four wheel drive recommended. Hot water in kitchen sink, out house, and stove with cut logs to keep the cabin warm. This is a unique airbnb that reminded me of "Little House on the Prairie." Lots of colorful birds, flowers and peace and quiet.

Beautiful Mountain Loft apartment located on an amazing Mesa. We are located in Southwest Colorado, fifteen miles from Telluride and the ski area. Roads well maintained after a storm. I have a all wheel drive Subaru with snow tires. Snow tires recommended ! 4 wheel drive even better! Cross Country skiing and snow shoeing right from the loft! We supply the snow shoes! The Mesa is beautiful in the winter. Our last guests loved seeing the herd of elk on our Mesa.
We are located in beautiful south west Colorado. Our views are spectacular. My husband and I designed and built our Mountain Loft with a lot of love and attention to detail. It is a very unique and beautiful apartment. We are happy to share our special getaway with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The views on the Mesa are spectacular. Wildlife abounds. You are away from it all, but only a 15 mile drive to the Town of Telluride , ski area and many restaurants. I love to cook and have stocked the kitchen with everything you need to make a fabulous meal.
Quiet neighborhood, lots of wildlife and views and only 15 minutes from Telluride.
  • The mountain loft was awesome ! The location Is perfect , just a short distance from town with jaw dropping beauty in every direction . The loft itself, looks like it belongs in the pages of better homes and gardens . Beautifully appointed . The pictures on the website are a mere reflection of how nice it is ! Jim and Christine made it very clear that they were there for us if we needed anything which was comforting . On the way in we got lost , jim came and rescued us . Loved our stay !

  • 100% would go back next time in the area. Thank you for such an amazing stay. The pictures don’t do it justice.

  • This was our second time staying at the Mountain Loft and it was just as perfect as the first time. We absolutely love this cute little cabin and all the amazing memories we've made there. Christine and Jim are outstanding hosts. They saved the day when we slid into a ditch and we are forever grateful for their help. We will surely be back for a third time!

    Giovanna2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was amazing! The views and atmosphere were both top notch. Best Airbnb I've ever stayed in!

    Chance2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Christine and Jim have an exceptionally lovely and cozy cabin. The furniture and decor are beautiful; nothing here comes from a chain store. The scenery is breathtaking. They were terrific hosts - available to assist in every way. Highly recommended for a getaway in the mountains.

    Muriel2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is an incredible space in a breathtaking setting. The road getting there was a bit slick but definitely doable and totally worth it. The pictures don't even do this place justice. And Christine was so easy to communicate with for check-in. The llft has every amenity you would need (we cooked a full dinner twice!) and is so relaxing you will feel right at home. Looking forward to visiting again!

  • Perfect mountain retreat nestled in a gorgeous aspen grove.

    Donald2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • As others have mentioned, the photos do not come close to doing this beautiful space justice. Christine and Jim have truly created a one-of-a-kind place, built with impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail. You can tell love is poured into every thoughtful touch. The space is absolutely gorgeous - you feel like you are staying in a treehouse! So perfectly laid out and comfortable. It's nestled within the most gorgeous landscape you've ever seen - just a short drive to Telluride. We wished we could have stayed longer! It is an absolute slice of paradise.

There was so much to do on the property: frisbee golf, volleyball, hammocks galore, quiet places to read and just be, an amazing outdoor shower, a massive outdoor table with an unbeatable view, sleeping under the stars…” -Alison R. “The location was ideal, between Ridgeway and Telluride, and sitting high on the mountain, with views to die for! Every evening on our return home we saw a ton of wildlife (more than we have seen at any other place we have stayed in the area). We will definitely be back, hopefully every summer!” - Rachael M. “We loved sitting on the porch in the morning and chatting. The kids played games/cards for hours at the kitchen table. And the views- oh, my! We definitely made memories here. The set-up of the different houses were unique and gave everyone their own space. There were tons of unique features- so special. The kitchen was made user friendly with a large gas stove, and tons of supplies. There was plenty of wildlife to be seen. The older kids drove to town one day and saw a mama bear and two cubs on the road right around the corner from the house. Quite exciting:) Best of all, my son chose this trip to propose to his girlfriend and she said "yes"! Life is good.” - Michelle G.
Our home is conveniently located between Telluride, with its world-renowned festivals for Jazz, Bluegrass, and Films - and Ridgeway, with its hot springs and super-cool new food scene. Also close are the famous Ouray hot springs, and the ancient architectural wonders of Mesa Verde and Hovenweep.
  • Wonderful stay! Be prepared to drive up gravel roads to the home and it might be best to have a 4wheel drive vehicle even in the summer. Amazing place for family and friends. Lovely interior and the home had almost everything you need in the kitchen and rooms

    Taylor2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very interesting house, designed by an architect with a very creative use of materials. It's actually 3 buildings. There were 11 of us, 4 couples and 3 singles, and the space was perfect for that number with all the couples having privacy. We loved the big table in the kitchen and that was the place we gathered most often. The views are spectacular. The house is very well stocked with everything you can think of. You are on a plateau at 8800 feet with beautiful meadows full of wild flowers and no other people around. There is a wonderful short hike marked by glass bottles with interesting things inside. There are several good spots to sit and see the views. Some of our group climbed Wilson Peak--it took them about an hour to get to the trailhead. Some also went into Telluride and Ouray. Some of us were quite content to just stay at the house the whole time!

    Marsha2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely an amazing place for a large family with four generations getting together. The kitchen and outdoor tables were absolutely perfect for eating, visiting, playing games and spending wonderful family time together. The sleeping arrangements make it perfect for different size families, children and those that want a very quiet evening. The views were amazing in every direction. We couldn't have found a more perfect space for us. Highly recommend to everyone.

Very unique, authentic, and comfortable Southwest style home with tremendous charm and warmth, 12 miles down San Miguel Canyon from the historic town of Telluride, Colorado. Telluride is home to a world class ski area, two film festivals, several music festivals including Bluegrass in the summer and Chamber Music and Blues Festivals in the Fall. Telluride offers a wide choice of restaurants and nightlife. Sit on the sunny decks or enjoy a fire in one of the 3 Kiva style fireplaces throughout the house in winter or fall. Cook meals on a beautiful six burner stove in a kitchen with a fireplace called The Rio Pecos Cafe. Fifteen minutes to Telluride and a half hour drive to Ouray Hot Springs. There is an on site caretaker who lives in a separate, private soundproof apt on a different level than the main house. He is there if you need him and invisible if you don't.
The Rio Pecos Adobe is outside of Telluride and tucked away in a red rock canyon surrounded by Oak, Pinon, Juniper and Spruce trees. It is private, quiet and peaceful.
  • Shoutout to Greg for being such a great host! The house and location are perfect! We could not ask for anything more. Appreciate how clean, organized, and comfortable everything was. The best Airbnb home I have ever stayed in.

    Melissa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and people, I'll definitely be back!

    Jeff2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you love the Southwest and like being in a well-built rustic home with an artistic flair such as Indian rugs, kachina dolls and log hewn railings and bed frames, this is the place for you. Did I mention that all the fireplaces work beautifully and there's lots of wood but there's also a furnace if you're there in cold weather - we weren't! The house is an easy 15-20 minutes outside Telluride and nearby Sawpit has a merchandise spot with 'anything you need' and great barbecue ribs to go. Ken also has an interesting library of books from classics to westerns and a collection of LP's that beg you to play them. We are just a couple so it was large for us but we enjoyed having two bathrooms and the second bedroom for laying out clothes. The house could easily accommodate 3 couples or 6 friends - huge dining room table, large living room and outside decks. There's no view to speak of unless you could lying on the deck at night and looking up at the stars which we did. That said, the house is cozy with big trees and quiet, no noise from the road or neighbors. Greg, the young man who lives on the property, is exceedingly helpful and easily reached by cell phone but quiet as a mouse. If I were making suggestions to Ken, I'd ask for chair pillows on the wood chairs and a couple comfy chairs with back support. We brought in the outside chairs and that worked. What else can I say? We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Ken's house. It's comfortable, quiet and great place to hang out as well as provide a 'coming home' spot after exploring the Telluride town and area.

    Kevin2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location close to Telluride. Rio Pecos Adobe is beautifully decorated, but also comfortable and welcoming. The home has all the amenities you could wish for, and Greg (the caretaker) is a great guy who answered all of our questions and offered suggestions for places to see and restaurants to try. Would definitely stay here again and we highly recommend Rio Pecos Adobe!

    Raymond And Carol2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We came here for a girlfriends weekend. The house was perfect. There were three of us and we each had a comfortable bedroom. There are 2 1/2 baths so we could all get ready at the same time. The design of the house is unique and so fun to look around at all the decor and the architecture. There are so many things to do around the area and Greg the caretaker is available to answer questions and give great suggestions. It is 20 minutes out of Telluride and we actually preferred it that way. We were able to go back to Ken's house which is very private and beautiful and just relax and enjoy after hiking or whatever. Thanks Ken.

Wake up on top of the world. Gorgeous camp site on private 108 acre property on top of a 9000 foot mesa just a 25 minute drive from Telluride and a 20 minute drive from Ridgeway. The property is 108 acres, part of a homeowners association, so the roads are well maintained. There is running water from a central well, and beautiful peace and seclusion. Share with the elk and the night stars. There is no toilet, you will need to dig a hole. This is camping at its finest.
You can enjoy the full 108 acres, it’s wide open with a small aspen grove. The best spot to camp is by the water spicket, marked with the sign ‘home site’.
The property is a 25 minute drive from Telluride, and a 20 minute drive from Ridgeway.
  • This is a beautiful mesa for camping. Micah was quick to respond and very accommodating. Very nice to have water on-site. The views are so fantastic. If you drop down into Sawpit, you are about 35 min from the camp spot to Telluride. The road from the Sawpit side is a little steep. The Placerville road is wide and graded. We recommend the Sawpit side in the day-time, and Placerville road in the night time.

  • If you've never explored San Miguel County and all it has to offer, you must go now. Forget about trying to find dispersed camping, just contact Micah and get your private spot reserved so that you can enjoy the area in private and spend your time doing what you love. Great communication and exactly as Micah described, the place is heaven. Oh the stars you will see!

The areas are distinctly different, so choose your lodging based on the activities you have planned. Coming in winter? Maybe one of our Telluride ski in ski out rentals is right for you. If you have been dreaming of staying at a picturesque wilderness log cabin with end of the road privacy and spectacular mountain scenery, this is the place. Environmentally 'green' with a very small carbon footprint running on solar and wind power.
This is a hand scribed Scandinavian log cabin. Lots of wood! The cabin runs on solar and wind power. It is off the grid. You need to monitor the power use. There is a gauge in the kitchen. It is heated by a gas forced air furnace and the fireplace too.
You are out in the wild, yet it is 20 minutes to Ridgway, the nearest town. There is fishing and rafting in the San Miguel and Uncompaghre rivers, nearby.
  • This cabin is nothing short of perfect. It was larger than we expected and more beautiful than the photographs portray. We were two families sharing, nine people all together, four adults and five children ages seventeen down to seven. We made a day trip to Mesa Verde and a trip to Telluride which were both completely doable and very enjoyable, but mostly we just wanted to stay put and enjoy the serenity of the setting and the comfort of the cabin. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the hummingbirds that hovered and dove right above the deck. We roasted marshmallows in the evening, cooked large meals in the kitchen, rested and laughed an awful lot. A lot of time was spent sitting in the sunroom just watching the beautiful expanse visible from that room. My boys identified plants, bird watched and went for long walks. It was idyllic.

  • Such a beautiful home! The views from every room were unbeatable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Great location close to Telluride and tons of hiking trails. My husband especially enjoyed that it was off-grid. The hosts even set up a pack and play for our baby!

The home on this very private 80 acre property is a custom timber frame structure of Douglas fir beams and oak pegs. It has cantilevered decks in back with a picnic table, fire pit, and grill overlooking creek. In front there is a deck and patio with unobstructed views of the Hayden range. It's located 25 minutes from Telluride or Ridgway. The property has mountain bike and Xcountry ski trails (4 mountain bikes, snow shoes and sleds available). It is a great retreat for a family or large group.
A single caretaker with extensive local knowledge for any questions or issues that may arise resides in an adjacent garage apartment. Self check in. Check in after 2 pm. House is open. Check out time is 10:30 am.
Hastings is a rural mesa with 3 large cattle ranchs, and a very dispersed small residential population. Zoning is 35 acres plus, but the houses are far and few between. Two well maintained gravel county rds (56V and 58P) lead off the mesa to Telluride, Ridgway and Placerville.
  • Beautiful place and perfect family get away. Away from all the hustle and bustle! Difficult to find at night but wow so worth it when you do.

    Nick2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • You won't regret choosing to stay at Glen's home. It's a beautiful piece of property nestled in the mountains with plenty of privacy. Some amazing views both out the front patio and back deck. There's not a light source for miles so you get a phenomenal view of the night sky. Bring your telescope if you have one! The home is beautifully constructed and easily sleeps 6-8 guests. All of the amenities you'd expect are present with added bonuses of an outdoor grill and hot tub. Glen was incredibly responsive and provided us with some great local knowledge on sights to see and small towns to visit. All of us in our group enjoyed our time and plan to return at the next opportunity.

    Adam2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house is officially our favorite place to date. It was a perfect size, comfortable, off the beaten path, and spectacular views. We enjoy getting to know Glen. He was available if we needed anything and had lots of knowledge of the area. The area had trails for hiking, mountain biking and off roading. We will be back!

    Christina2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible place, very quiet, spectacular views and a unique cabin both outside and inside. Glen is very knowledge about the area and willing to share that information.

    Kathy2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING HOUSE.

    Joel2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Glen is a fantastic builder and artist, he built the house and it is incredible. He was staying in the house next door, but he gave us lots of privacy. Whenever we needed something (a shovel, more water in the hot tub) we messaged him and it just appeared like magic. The road in was definitely a challenge, it would not be possible without 4x4 or chains (at least in the winter). But once we got up there, everything was great.

  • this is a great place to stay when visiting Telluride because it is at a lower elevation so the effects of altitude sickness are minimal biut less than 15 minutes to middle of Telluride

  • If you are looking for your own small piece of solitude close to the city of Telluride, then look no further! This historic home right along Deep Creek had everything we were hoping for during our short trip to Telluride. We got to fall asleep to the sounds of the creek rushing by and wake up to the smell of pine trees in the air. The house is fully stocked with books, games, movies... anything you could want. If you are interested in mycology, then you need to stay just to check out all of the fascinating fungi references throughout the house. There were tons of resources for local trails and sightseeing options, along with recommendations for local stores. In addition to all of the amenities the house provides on its own, Laurie is an extraordinary host. She is quick to respond and very welcoming. This home has clearly been well loved over the years and for good reason. It's a great place to relax and reconnect with nature or as a home base for your next adventure. Don't miss out!

    Ashley2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We love the old house at Dan and Laurie's place, and their sensibilities. They are very kind and interesting folks, deeply involved in the community and with the stewardship of the environment. The sound of Deep Creek is pretty much the ideal accompaniment to everything.

    David2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved everything about our stay, Telluride in general and Dan & Laurie's place in particular. The house was neat and clean when we arrived, and Dan had prepared enough extra beds to accommodate our large group. He had left us maps of the area hiking trails and other attractions, then gave us recommendations of the best of them. The grill on the patio beside the river was used almost every day, and a particularly nice touch. All in all, a wonderful and relaxing stay. We hope to be back next year, and will certainly stay here if there is availability.

    LaMar2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Laurie and Dan's place! So cozy, and inviting. It truly felt like a second home for us. Anywhere in Telluride is beautiful, but having the creek right out your back door was amazing! Dan is such a friendly and down to earth host. He was so easy to talk to and helped make us feel right at home. We may be back next summer and if we are, we'd love to stay at Deep Creek again!

    Darcy2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! Wonderful location and Dan was a great host!

    Vanessa2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie Is great! You'll love the place.

    Andrew2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We have fully enjoyed out stay here. In fact, we're staying another few days! The house is very comfortable and a great location for a ski holiday. The one thing that wasn't completely obvious from the description is that it is right by the main road, so it's not really a secluded or outdoorsy location, but the house is well insulated so there wasn't really much noise. And it makes driving to it easy even if it's snowing.

  • Barb's lodge/home is nothing short of perfect. We loved staying here and cannot wait to be back. The most eclectic space with beautiful views of the San Juan's. And the world's comfiest bed and best sleep we have gotten in awhile outside the city! Thanks for everything Barb!

    Jordan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking to get away and relax in a classic cabin "off the grid," this is a perfect option near Telluride. The house has a lot of character and it was easy to find before dark. Last Dollar Road has a lot of interesting history and you'll surely get a taste of that as well.

    Brady2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a little slice of heaven off the grid, we only wish we had more time to enjoy her space as we were there for Blues Festival. We hope to go back for a longer stay!

    Susan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had no idea how great this place was going to be. Barb is the kind of host you hope to have. We had a great time watching humming birds from her porch with million dollar views in every direction. Nice secluded location, but a quick drive gets you to Telluride, Ridgway, and Ouray. The stargazing is phenomenal. 10/10 would stay here again.

  • Great stay. Barb was a great host.

    Blake2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third time out to stay with Barb at the Z Lodge and it is one of my favourite places anywhere. If you get a chance to visit, don't hesitate you will not be disappointed! The location is paradise, really. The beauty and felling of this place like no other place you will find in Colorado. Barb is an amazing woman and has become a real friend. I can't recommend staying here enough. Thanks again Barb and see you soon!

    John Paul2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place in the woods. This was my first time living in a cabin experience. The room was nice and quiet. There was huge bathroom. I loved Barb's dog Woody. He was so well behaved. We spent very less time in the house as we were out the whole day either travelling or hiking Mount Sneffels. Barb taught us how to make the humming birds sit on your fingers and that was an amazing experience. We loved our stay here.

    Chaitra2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Barb was a great host! She has lots of local knowledge and can give recommendations if you're looking for a hike or a place to grab a bite to eat. Her place was in a good location and there was lots of wildlife. Our cell reception wasn't the best but that's the case with most of Colorado (Sprint) and not Barb's fault. We would definitely recommend staying here. It was a great home base for exploring Ridgway, Silverton, Durango, Telluride and surrounding areas.
