  • Great location, great house and best host. Thank you!

  • Maya’s place is sweet! Literally the best location in Ojai as it is a 1 block walk to everything downtown. The space is super vibey and the outdoor kitchen is legit. I cooked every night for the 2 months I stayed. The hosts (Robert and Maya) couldn’t be cooler. I highly recommend this spot. Cheers!

    Tom2019-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Maya is an amazing host. Staying with her felt like staying at a good friend's house. You won't get a better host and location in Ojai!

    Angie2018-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kind of like Swiss Family Robinson meets private cabana with full kitchen and patio area- all in walking distance to downtown, trails, a great wine shop, a weekly farmers market, etc. I stayed a month with my semi-bouncy teenage dog. Quiet neighborhood, friendly locals. Maya and Robert were patient and generous with their time and space. I will be going back...love it there, love Ojai.

    Anna2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Maya and Robert are wonderful. The apartment is right in the center so everything is walking distance. Ojai is such a wonderful place.

    Joan2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect for Ojai. The town plaza is within a few minutes from your doorstep. I really like the outdoor space. I would highly recommend this place for a short-term stay in Ojai. If you stay long-term, I would recommend it when the weather is nice since some of the living space is outdoor. The hosts are very communicative and helpful. Rob and Maya are always happy to answer any questions you have or give you tips for the surrounding area.

  • I had a great stay and really enjoyed my time at Mary’s place.

    Brad2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is gorgeous! The bed is incredibly comfy, as a sleep apnea sufferer this was the first time I've slept decent in months. It is very clean- due to location, there's a bit of dust and whatnot, but nothing unbearable. The hot tub was perfect both at night, and to watch the sunrise. Spanky and Trigger the donkey pair are adorable and sassy, and we became pals. It's about an 18 minute drive to Ventura, and a 10 minute drive to Ojai. We didn't get to use the bikes since we were worried about rain, but they looked fun! A big thank you to Mary for being a wonderful, friendly host. We will definitely be back!

    Hannah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mary’s place is so relaxing. The hot tub was fantastic at night. Definitely has a hippie/farm feel with great comfy outdoor spaces to hang out. Beds were comfortable, my kids and I all slept well! Was easy to share the kitchen too.

    Sarah2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mary has put together a lovely, thoughtful home away from home. I highly recommend staying here!

    Chris2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for the third time and Mary treated us like family! We’ll be back.

    Maricela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This space is amazing. Mary is so kind, her home is full of amazing energy. So healing. I love to hear the birds and the frogs! The donkeys are so wonderful too!

    Sophia Gabriella2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mary place is very comfortable and stylish. Much bigger than we anticipated. We have the room, bathroom, patio, TV room, and jacuzzi just for us. Mary is very helpful and kind. She offered us coffee and tea, and she provides privacy and a very quiet environment.

    Sara2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful with lots of privacy. Sitting out in the hot tub at night was magical, and the donkeys were very cute. The location right on the bike path is perfect for riding back and forth to Ojai. The $20 rental fee for the bike was quite reasonable, especially given how affordable the accommodations are.

Studio apartment in separate building with stunning outdoor deck and pool views of the mountains and Ventura River Valley. Located on a permaculture native plant farm noted for its natural beauty by artists, photographers. AIR IS CLEAR!
Guest House at Euterpe Farms Welcome! We hope you enjoy your stay in this beautiful part of the world. I'm so happy to be able to share this property with people of like mind...who care about natural beauty and the creative nature of people. We respect the local Ojai Valley rules regarding vacation rentals. There are no vacation rentals allowed in the City of Ojai. In the unincorporated area outside of town, where we are, only "home shares" are allowed. This means owner-occupied. We respect the concerns of some members of our government and community regarding unregulated vacation rentals, and ask our guests to be good representatives of the exciting new sharing economy. Smitty West Here’s some information and tips to help make your stay easier. Pool Area Enjoy one of the great experiences of Ojai….the pool at Euterpe Farms with White Ledge Peak of the Transverse Ranges at sunset! It’s full of mineral water drawn from the earth at the windmill. Very lightly treated, your skin will feel great afterwards. We’ll show you how to use the hot tub on request! There’s an icemaker and refrigerator on the terrace under the pergola on the way to the pool There are pool towels for you, and just let us know if you need more. Wildlife Euterpe Farms has a 1000’ fenced border and 180 degree view of the beautiful Ojai Land Conservancy’s Ventura River Preserve, and the two million acre Los Padres National Forest. This beautiful, diverse, and wild country is home to an amazing assortment of wildlife found nowhere else. This is THEIR home, and WE are the visitors here on the edge of this wilderness. Be respectful of this fact and you will be rewarded with close-up view of an amazing assortment of plants and wildlife. Some of the larger animals you may see: deer, coyote, fox, snakes, bobcat, mountain lion, bear. Bird watchers will LOVE the diversity. We encourage raptors, and you may see or hear several types of owls, hawks, and other birds of pretty. There is usually a resident barn owl in the brown owl house in the tree in the middle of the circle driveway. You can see her pellets on the ground below. With big animals come small animals, so if you like lizards, spiders, snakes and other crawlies, you’ll love it as much as the animals that eat them. If you don’t, well, you might have to live with them, because there’s 2 million acres of their home right next door! We try to maintain a no-kill philosophy on the property, and we have only seen one poisonous snake. Best advice: Enjoy the wildlife, but don’t handle it! Vegetable Garden and Orchard There’s a vegetable garden on the side yard along the driveway. It is protected from deer by an electric fence which can be unplugged where the extension cord meets the controller in the white bucket. All organic. Help yourself. The orchard is seasonal, we have some type of fruit much of the year, but only a tree or two of each. Naval orange, plums, apricots, cherries, avocado, peaches, figs, blood oranges, grapefruit, white pomegranate. Monarch Butterflies We are a monarch butterfly sanctuary. What this really means is that we nurture and cultivate the Ojai native milkweed species, Asclepias fascicularis…the monarchs do the rest! You will see butterflies most of the spring, summer, and fall, and then they overwinter in groves along the California coast. While they enjoy nectar from the variety of wildflowers on the farm, they only lay their eggs on milkweed…so it is vital to their dwindling populations. Consider purchasing a milkweed while you are here to take home. Norman Speaking of animal life, our resident black lab, Norman, welcomes you as well. He is well-behaved, and may bark at you when you arrive, or at the coyotes if they come on the property, but is as kind and sweet as any canine you may meet. He loves the pool, so if you want him to join you, you won’t have any problem. If not…a firm “no” will usually let him know who’s boss. Chickens Our hens think they rule the roost. They kinda do. You are welcome to eggs. They lay during the warm months, usually late in the morning. We let them out sometimes in the late afternoon when Norman can watch them. There’s no rooster so they shouldn’t spoil your sleep. They are named for famous heroines and musical chicks, “Rox-Hen”, “Re-Peck-ah”, “Yolk-O Ono”, “Lay-la”, “Buffy” …you get the idea. You may change their names at your desire. Climate and Comfort Ojai has a reputation in California for being blazing hot, but that isn’t really true, with a few exceptionally hot spells each year. Here at the Farm, during the summer months we are rewarded with a beautiful Pacific marine layer breeze every afternoon, and the average summer daytime temperature is 90 degrees. The winters are mild, but sometimes chilly at night. The wall furnace has a thermostat under the access panel at the bottom. You’ll be very comfortable with a setting between 1 and 3 (out of ten). There are two black marks to make these settings easier to see. If the pilot goes out, and you need help lighting it, let us know. Sometimes during offshore wind conditions, it does get BLAZING HOT for several days at a time. If you are lucky enough to be visiting during one of these spells (we may get two or three of them per year and it can be over 100 degrees), remember that it does cool off at night, so open the windows and night and shut them in the morning as the day warms up. There is an attic fan that can add to your cross breeze, and a portable air conditioner that will take the edge off. But the best solution is a dip in the beautiful swimming pool, and planning an evening poolside until the stars come out. That said, chances are that you will have fantastic weather, any time of the year, and use the windows to moderate your temperature, and enjoy the porch. Indoor Living Ojai is all about outdoors, but you’ll find a lot of indoor conveniences here: Refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, service for small groups, satellite TV with surround sound, wifi, a desk area, books….etc. If you’re here for more than a few days, and need anything (cooking utensils, iron and iron board, guitar) just text or ask Smitty. Plumbing Euterpe Farms is on a green septic system. If it didn’t come out of your body or off the roll of supplied septic-safe tissue, it doesn’t go in the toilet. Trust us…we will find out! Solar and Wind and Water The little faucet next to the sink delivers you unlimited delicious and “world famous” Euterpe Farms windmill mineral water. This water is purchased by thousands of fans at our roadside tienda (farm stand) as their exclusive drinking water. Delicious, untreated and pure mineral water. It is raised by the power of the wind from our 1926 Aeromotor windmill from an isolated aquifer under this portion of Meiners Oaks. The farm has a 8500 kilowatt solar generating system, making power from Ojai’s most precious asset, our sunshine. Bees We’re doing our part to help sustain healthy communities of honeybees here at Euterpe Farms. Their hives are very obvious off to the cliff side near the windmill. No one has been bitten that wasn’t messing around with their hives. No one HASN’T been bitten who WAS messing around with them. Your choice. You’ll see them on the wildflowers around the Farm. Tip your hat and say thank you (or “gracie”… they are an Italian variety), and they won’t bother you. Hikes We recommend the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s beautiful Ventura River Preserve. Walk or drive the one-half mile north on Rice Rd. to the trailhead. There is a private semi-improved trail that starts out near the windmill. It’s a steep climb down steps carved into the hillside, and then you follow deer and coyote trails to the public trails…10 minutes away. Another favorite is the Shelf Road Trail in Downtown Ojai, accessible by trailhead at the top of Signal Street. Rose Valley Falls is about 30 minutes up the 33 in the beautiful mountains above Ojai. There is a Forest Service Office in Ojai’s East End with lots of maps, books, and information about the Los Padres National Forest. General Safety Euterpe Farms is a working farm. That means there are farm tools, farm work, and multiple hazards that you won’t find in most “vacation spots.” This is the beauty and uniqueness of this special place, but please use common sense and understanding. As a guest here in the Guest House, you are welcome to the apartment and beautiful deck, and non-exclusive use of the pool. You may walk the grounds but please respect the privacy of the occupants of the main house. Besides being a native plant farm, any portion of the grounds and pool area may be in use for other purposes such as parties and music events, filming, music recording or rehearsal, photography, plein air painting, and private use by the owner, Smitty West. Please be respectful of the privacy and business of the other people enjoying the Farm. The property requires regular land care, pool service, gardening, and farming that may be occurring at any time, so if you see our happy grounds manager, Urbano….say hola! Smitty also enjoys doing work around the farm, and he may offer you a tour. Parking Please park on the dirt area at the bottom of the stairs. Do not block the garage doors or the paved circle so delivery and service vehicles can come and go. The beautiful 450-year old oak tree in the front of the main house will thank you as well! Smitty West The owner and caretaker of Euterpe Farms, is singer/songwriter Smitty West. If he’s around, he’s a very friendly fellow who might want to share a story or hike with you. (URL HIDDEN) If he is on the property, he loves meeting our guests and helping you enjoy your stay. You can hear him sing with his partner Julija Zonic at The Vine wine bar in downtown Ojai Saturdays from 5:00-7:00pm. Some of their CDs are on display in the room for purchase. Dining Some of our favorites for quick, local bites: Meiners Oaks ( ½ mile north on Rice turn left on El Roblar Ave.) Papa Lennon’s – delicious, fresh food, pizza, pasta… counter service Don LaLo’s – Mexican, fresh, yummy Ranch House – famous for gourmet fine dining Farmer and the Cook: Grocery and counter restaurant…organic and local Downtown Ojai Suzanne’s Cuisine…fine dining Feast Bistro…fusion dishes by acclaimed chef Susan…say hi from Smitty Ojai Pizza – Yep….Pizza and families! The Vine – great wine and pretty yummy sandwiches, salads, pizzas Mira Monte and Oak View (5 miles back down the 33 toward Ventura) Spin – fresh pastas and comfort food Bocalli’s Italian and Pizza OHM Thai Massage, etc. Ojai School of Massage (student massage) 619 El Roblar Dr. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) The Oaks 122 E Ojai Ave ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Ronelle Wood (myofacial release) Ojai Healing Movement (EMAIL HIDDEN) (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) E. This water is brought to you from a pure underground aquifer that underlies this area west of Krotona Hill. The reservoir is mapped by geologists to be fault-separated from the municipal wells in the Ventura River bottom, and in a completely different aquifer. The well underlies the windmill you see in the field in front of you. Taste it, you’ll love it. So will your dog or horse, so let them have some too! This water has been lifted by the power of the wind! Before you is a 1920s-vintage, restored Chicago Aermotor A602 windmill. It was salvaged from a farm near Santa Paula, and put back into service to lift the water that nurtures the young native plants here at Euterpe Farms. This machine is a thing of mechanical beauty and simplicity. It slowly and deliberately lifts the water from the earth every afternoon in the ocean breezes that move up the Ventura River as the Ojai Valley heats up in the sunshine. The machine is self regulating, turning to catch light breezes, but folding her tail to take the sails out of the wind in heavy winds. Every stroke lifts about two cups of water six inches. It sounds slow, but if the wind blows all day, it will fill one of the tanks you see next to the tower. There’s a pond next to the well to catch the overflow on really windy days. Look closely for wildlife around the pond, including deer and bobcat. What about when there’s no wind? The farm has installed a solar photovoltaic grid on the south side of the farmhouse. Every sunny day, our electric meter runs backwards! The small pressure pumps that help the windmill during low wind, and pressurize the water in the irrigation system draw on this power. We also have a solar water heating system made from recycled equipment from the 70s and 80s. We try to keep a low carbon footprint here at Euterpe Farms! Want more than a sip? There’s a tap for your larger water bottles next to the drinking fountain. If you would like to fill water bottles, we would ask that you make a donation in the cash box to help keep Euterpe farms eco-friendly, organic and natural. What is “Euterpe ?” Actually, “WHO is Euterpe ("you-TER-pee")? In Greek mythology, she is one of the Muses, the daughters of Mnemosyne, fathered by Zeus. Called the "Giver of Pleasure", she was the muse of music. The Muses dancing with Apollo The Muses are goddesses or spiritual guides who embody the arts and inspire the creative process with their graces through song and stage, writing, music and dance. They were water nymphs, associated with the springs of Helicon and Pieris. Here she is in a list with her sisters •Calliope Chief of the muses and muse of epic poetry •Euterpe muse of lyric song •Clio muse of history •Erato muse of erotic poetry •Melpomene muse of tragedy •Polyhymnia muse of sacred song •Terpsichore muse of dance •Thalia muse of comedy and bucolic poetry •Urania muse of astronomy Euterpe Music Company is the name of our music recording and publication company.
If you hate animals and nature, you will hate it here. If dark nights full of stars, or blinding full moons scare you, stay away! If the sound of coyotes, owls, crickets, frogs...scare you, stay in the city! A birdwatcher's dream. A native plant enthusiast's Eden. If you love music, consider booking during our concert series, when you will hear local Ojai Valley songwriters performing at the stage under the oaks...second Tuesday of the month between April and October.
  • We had a great stay here. The location is spectacular and very quiet. The host and his team are super nice, generous and very easy to communicate with. Everything was as good, or better, than we hoped. Would recommend 100% for anyone looking for a tranquil and beautiful place to relax.

  • We loved our time here. We stayed 5 nights in January and found it to be a delightful way to explore Ojai. The place is comfortable, the location is outstanding and we enjoyed, relaxed and rejuvenated. Great hiking, great local food, breweries and taprooms. Loved every minute.

  • We had an amazing experience staying on the farm. The location is perfect for a nice little get away. The place is cozy and had everything we needed and there’s a deck to enjoy coffee and breakfast with a view. Smitty was super friendly, responsive, and helpful in showing us around. There’s a couple trails right in the backyard that lead to the river. We both fell in love with Norman, he’s such a great dog and he will tag along on the trails with you. Can’t wait to come back and visit!

    Amy2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I agree with all of the many wonderful things written previously by other travelers who've stayed at Smitty's place, i.e. very gracious and friendly hosts (Maureen, Smitty), stylish and cozy space, great location, beautiful scenery, extreme cleanliness, very nice dog (Nelson), etc. Really enjoyed staying there! Two things you might want to be at least aware of, though, that I didn't see mentioned by anyone . . . the first is that the indoor wall separating the main room from the bathroom does not go 100% all the way up to the ceiling, i.e. there is a gap of space of at least a few inches. In other words, any sounds emanating from inside the bathroom will be heard extremely clearly throughout the main room. So, I would not call it very private in that way. And if you use the shower at 100% full-on power, I estimate that you will only have about 5 - 6 (maybe 7?) minutes of a hot water shower.

    Anthony2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying here! Everything about it was wonderful- clean and quiet, beautiful and peaceful. The highlight is definitely Norman the black lab- he was my guide on hikes down to the river. If you love being surrounded by abundant nature, yet within a short drive to town, if you appreciate the beauty of wild places and are looking to retreat from hectic everyday life, come to Smitty's place. You will be happy you did!

The Beautifully rustic cabin, Wabi Sabi House, is one of a trio of homes that includes Agave House which was featured in Vogue ( 9 Super Chic Airbnb’s Owned by Interior Designers from Savannah to Ojai). It is nestled in the most sought after location in the Ojai Valley, the fabled East End, where Krishnamurti himself used to take his daily constitutional. Surrounded by nature and steps from great hiking.
Wabi Sabi House is nestled in the most sought after location in the Ojai Valley, the fabled East End, where Krishnamurti himself used to take his daily constitutional. The East of Ojai, where the Chumash thrived for 10,000 years, is the part of Ojai that Aldus Huxley, Jackson Pollock, and John Lennon have come to rest while in California. The large parcels of land, and ample privacy still allow for a lone bike ride along a lush, breathtaking road, undisturbed. Drenched in sunlight and twenty minutes from the beach, this Japanese style retreat sits at the base of Horn Canyon, with a huge private yard filled with bamboo, succulents, a fire pit and outdoor dining. It is situated between two preparatory schools, The Thacher school, and The Ojai Valley School, The Krishnamurti Library, and what was once Beatrice Woods' home and studio. Just up the trail which winds past the house and up over the "Pink Moment" bluffs, resplendent with local flora and fauna, crystal streams, and a natural climbing wall, is a Pilates studio offering world class massage in an outdoor setting. Natural sage, aloe, and aromatic herbs are right outside your front door, and down the road is an organic Pizza Parlor nestled amongst orange trees, oaks, and sweeping vistas. The good news is, you are still 1 hour and 15 minutes from Los Angeles and a short bike ride from town. The cottage has a detached Japanese style bath house with a restored clawfoot tub, and birch paneling. It is ideal for a private soak after a long hike... Views from the house include the Ojai mountain range on all sides, replete with hawks flying overhead. It is perfect for weekends or for the week to work in nature, near organic cuisine, Whole Foods style markets, world class spas, yoga, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and of course..surfing! This is the perfect place to re-charge all of your senses...enjoy!
The East End of Ojai is the most gorgeous area in Ojai. It is a sought after respite for people from neighboring Los Angeles where vacation homes are kept, but is also one steeped with long time residents who will give a friendly wave to anyone who happens past on foot, bicycle or car. Low traffic, close to town, like mountains in Spain, or the South of France. It's exquisite by all standards of what paradise looks like. Flanked by two prep schools, students jogging and horseback riding are a frequent sight. It's a great place to unwind.
  • What a lovely place !! So close do the “downtown” area yet you feel like you are in a secluded little forest.

  • Fantastic cozy getaway filled with Ojai charm. Perfect for our weekend trip away from the city. Would stay again!

    Ryan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely small space in a more rural area but only 10 min from town. There is a beautiful oak tree on the property with a bench underneath and a peacock came to visit me and sat in solidarity with me when I thought I was locked out (but found the key). If you want to get away from the noise and go for walks in the oak grove, this is it.

  • This Japan influenced cabin is amazingly designed. The building has a lot character, and feels very cosy. The view from the narrow windows of the surrounding nature is priceless. Congrats Caitlin!

  • A very cute and stylish place to escape to! The perfect location in Ojai. We had a great weekend getaway to wabi sabi! Definitely recommend to others. Thank you Caitlin :)

  • I totally enjoyed this rustic cabin and lovely bathtub for several days and would stay again. I took a bath every day! It's very quiet, light, and has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. Go for a hike right from the door... just a few minutes from the central Ojai village. Caitlin was also very attentive and responded quickly to a few things when I needed something...

  • Amazing stylish place! Loved everything about it and the area around it.

  • Beautiful location and a charming well appointed spot. Easy communication. Love the strategically placed mirror ;). Bring flip flops for the bathroom dash and know that you gotta do a little minor trespassing to get to the canyon trail.

This Vogue featured home ( 9 Super Chic Airbnb’s Owned by Interior Designers from Savannah to Ojai) called Agave House, is wrapped in windows and skylights. Sunlight is abundant, and guests feel privately perched with a view of mountain ranges, and lush foliage on all sides.
This Vogue featured home ( 9 Super Chic Airbnb’s Owned by Interior Designers from Savannah to Ojai) is drenched in sunlight. Agave House is nestled in the most sought after location in the Ojai Valley, the fabled East End. Next door to Beatrice Woods previous home and studio, it is also a short stroll to the Krishnamurti Library, and the historical Thacher school, founded in 1885. Situated at the base of Horn Canyon ( 5 minutes from town and 20 minutes from the beach ), it has sweeping views of the Ojai mountain range, repleate with low flying hawks, incredible hiking, and a huge private yard, filled with tropical plants, succulents, a Moroccan tile patio with chiminea, and a field of Aloe. Just up the trail which winds past the house and up over the "Pink Moment" bluffs, resplendent with local flora and fauna, crystal streams, and a natural climbing wall, is a Pilates studio offering world class massage in an outdoor setting. Natural sage, aloe, and aromatic herbs are right outside your front door, and down the road is an organic Pizza Parlor nestled amongst orange trees, oaks, and more sweeping vistas. The good news is, you are still 1 hour and 15 minutes from Los Angeles and a nice bike ride from town. The house is restored with birch floors and walls, skylights, mirrors and windows to reflect the outdoors. Downstairs, glass doors open onto the private yard. It offers wifi, dishwasher, flat screen TV, washer/dryer and we can provide in house maid service upon request during your stay. The bathroom features a restored clawfoot tub, birch paneling, a skylight, which is great for star-gazing while soaking in an aromatic bath. The bedding and mattress match top hotels, for an exquisite sleep beneath another skylight, and one more view of Montana sized stars, clear as diamonds due to the lack of city light. The concept of the space is to offer a totally serene indoor/outdoor experience with all the luxury of good, comfortable design mixed with a really lovely collection of antiques and art, combined with a high tech environment to cater to those who must work while away from the city. It is perfect for weekends or for the week to work in nature, near organic cuisine, Whole Foods style markets, world class spas, yoga, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and of course..surfing! Surf boards and a hammock await you.
  • This place was amazing 🌴 super romantic and cozy

  • Our second stay here; was excellent per usual!

    Luke2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic, quiet location. Minutes from historic Thacher School. Great hikes and views of the valley behind the cottage and less than 8 minute drive to downtown Ojai. Whimsical design and well equipped for cooking meals. A European style fridge to store a few items from your visit to the Ojai Farmer’s market. Nice shady fully fenced back yard with outdoor furniture to enjoy Ojai days and evenings.

    Bryan2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice spot! Definitely do the hiking trail along the house.

    Ava2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly charming, cozy, and secluded! We loved hiking the trail right from our front door and enjoyed the various wildlife in the yard. A stellar spot for a getaway to lovely Ojai.

  • Caitlin's place is a wonderful break. The surrounding area is very peaceful and close to nice, dog-friendly hikes. The decor of her place is thoughtful, it's incredibly clean, and loved all the windows and skylights. A great base of operations for exploring Ojai.

    Cindy2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Caitlin’s place is really lovely, like a hideaway cabin but bright and sunny - photos are entirely accurate and actually it’s a bit bigger than I was expecting. We were just two adults so it was fun to have the upstairs room to hang out in and then hunker down downstairs. The bathroom is well appointed and there’s plenty of cooking pots and plates etc to cook in the kitchen which has the bonus of a table to sit at. The garden is also very sweet and it’s nice to be so close to Ojai but not in the middle of town. Caitlin was really responsive and good to communicate with. It was a little chilly as the gas heating wasn’t on but we were provided with some electric heaters. I would definately visit again in warmer weather but all in all a perfect little getaway

    Effie2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Very cool little house. Bring a sleeper shade if you don't like early morning light. Fantastic to wake up and go outside to listen to all the birds and breathe fresh air. Contact owner to get directions if you are arriving at night especially. Google and other maps apps will not get you there.

  • A nice little cabin, this place is very peaceful. While there is no TV, the tranquility is appreciated. The kitchen is a nice bonus and overall, the cabin is very comfortable. If you have a medium to large car, you will have trouble parking in the car port. Our MINI was small enough to fit in the carport and will care, we were able to enter and exit with no issues.

This peaceful retreat nestled amongst the trees offers the best of all worlds - breath-taking views of the Ojai Valley, privacy and seclusion, and a five minute drive to vibrant downtown Ojai. We are one of the few homes that are properly licensed & permitted in the area so you can feel confident in booking. Ventura County requires us to separately collect 8% bed tax (TOT) on top of rental fees. We don’t allow pets as our family is allergic and we love to spend time at the house when we can!
Welcome to The Ojai View House! We hope you find it's as special as we do. From the gorgeous, one-in-a-million views of the valley to the feeling of calm that washes over you in the quiet hillside location, this retreat was built to rest your mind and restore your soul. This charming 60s ranch home (no stairs!) contains spacious rooms and a wonderfully easy layout with almost 2000 square feet of house. Watch the gorgeous sunrise and sunsets from the two outdoor patios lining the house (and keep an eye out for the local deer that like to stop by the yard!). Or, if you feel like staying in, watch the sunsets just as easily from the large living room or sunroom/office. For those of you who want to get cozy, put a vintage LP (Dean Martin? Opera? John Denver?) on the available record player in the living room or pop a movie into the DVD player or watch Netflix and relax. There's even an organ in the living room for those who are feeling musically inspired. For the readers in the group, the bookcase in the sunroom/office is well stocked full of books of all kinds, from fun pulp novels to political discourses on historical world leaders. The Internet connection is the strongest that Spectrum offers in the area at 300 mgb. Each of the spacious bedrooms has a wonderfully calm atmosphere conducive to getting some real rest. The master bedroom has a king bed with a sliding door directly to the outdoor patio. The two guest bedrooms each have queen beds and their own overhead fans to produce a light, cool breeze should you want it. For your meals, enjoy a luxurious breakfast in the fun breakfast area off the kitchen or, if you choose, host a formal dinner in the separate dining room. Views continue to amaze from both eating areas. The Ojai View House is ideal for friends and families vacationing together. While we welcome children with open arms, we would just like to note that the property is located on the side of a hill that has a rather steep drop off toward the road (hence the incredible views!). Children should be supervised at all times. The Ojai View House is truly a one-of-a-kind space that will help create many wonderful memories. We hope you keep coming back and make it a tradition. Additional Notes/House Rules: - There is a 6 guest max for overnight guests although we may make exceptions in certain circumstances (i.e small children) and then will ask for an extra fee per person per night. Please inquire if your party exceeds the max number. - There is a 10 guest max for visitors during the day. - There is a 6 car max for parking on property. Please do not use street parking for additional cars. - Quiet hours shall be observed between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am. There is no outdoor amplified music or sound allowed outside during these hours. Please keep sound level at a reasonable level during daytime hours as well as we do have neighbors on 3 sides. -The property may not be used for events that exceed guest limits, quiet hours or parking limitations.
The home is located on a secluded hillside overlooking the Ojai Valley. It's quite easy to get to and from the main road into Ojai and less than a 5 minute drive into downtown.
  • Ojai View is an amazing house. The sunrise and sunset light, looking over the beautiful valley. A rare spot. Lovely place to relax and chill.

  • Sweeping views from a sprawling house, within hiking distance of trails and a quick 5-minute drive to downtown Ojai. Squeaky clean, and Sarah was a warm and attentive host. Couldn’t have asked for more for a relaxing weekend for our two families!

    Titania2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed over NYE - two couples and two 2 y/o toddlers. Kids had a great time exploring and the view from the house is excellent. We really enjoyed being able to walk out the back and be on the trails overlooking Ojai without driving. Host was easy and quick to communicate with and even allowed us an early check-in so our daughter could nap. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Ojai.

    Matt2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house in a fantastic location. Lots of room. Highly recommended. Sarah is very kind. Pay attention to her information about getting to the house...your GPS will NOT get you to the house. Sarah's directions will. Beautiful location for a peaceful vacation. Sweet One is in the heart of downtown Ojai~ walking distance to restaurants, golf, wineries, hiking trails, breweries, shopping, spas + more. It is a free standing casita on a property with other structures/rentals but Sweet 1 is separate and private once you enter through the wooden gate. You'll love the private patio~ and the bathroom will not be forgotten. Truly a unique and authentic experience in Ojai! Please review details re: dogs, and parking.
Drive to Ojai, park your car, and then walk everywhere you want to go! Truly steps from downtown Ojai. This is a laid back property in the heart of Ojai- we like to keep things simple and not fussy. For 2 night stays, we give guests one towel each because of excessive laundry (CA drought), we have nice coffee (nespresso pods), lap blankets to enjoy the patio in the evening, a hammock, bikes (please only ride on the street otherwise the tires will be popped by goat heads on dirt trails), shampoo/soap/etc. Please bring your netflix & spotify codes for our smart TV, we love pets but they are only allowed with prior approval (& a fee) and are not allowed on the furniture or bed. There is ONE parking spot right next to the blue wall adjacent to sweet 1 (more parking on the street), and the Ojai VAT tax is 10% (Airbnb automatically adds this to your reservation).
We are located in downtown Ojai, walking distance to all that Ojai has to offer. This property is ON OJAI AVE but is set way back off of the street. You'll have the benefits of direct access to Ojai Ave.
  • If you get the opportunity to stay at this place do so. The pictures of the bathroom do not do it justice ,the picture of the backyard space sells it short and the place is truly comforting and inviting. Extremely close to everything that Ojai has to offer . Great hospitality from Miss Tonya, truly a “will return “space.

Our secluded guest house is a relaxing world to itself. Lush and green outside, calm and neutral inside. This sweet studio is filled with morning light while dappled sunlight lingers on the patio until late afternoon. The cottage is furnished with handcrafted items we cherish... Murray Rodkin 1970's macrame sculpture, Edith Heath 1960's dishes, woven leather rug, and ceramics. Located on a residential, hilltop neighborhood just a 10 minute walk to downtown. Hiking trails are right next door.
Organic cotton bedding, down pillows, wool blankets. All cookware and appliances in the kitchen are new. Small table expands to serve as a desk. The outdoor patio area is spacious and fully enclosed by a tall fence for privacy.
I love how serene the hilltop of Del Oro Drive is and yet it's only a 2 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk to downtown. Cattywampus Crafts and Beacon Coffee are just down the street - our two favorite places to hang and visit in Ojai! You can walk directly to Pratt Trail or Shelf Road - both gorgeous hikes.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anna's guesthouse. This beautifully decorated guesthouse was perfect for 2 people, was clean, had a well stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed. It's neighbourhood location was quiet, close to downtown, even closer to hiking trails and had a fenced courtyard/patio - perfect for our dog or an al fresco lunch. Communication was excellent with our hosts and they made every effort to give us privacy. We would definitely recommend the guesthouse.

  • Anna’s guest house is the gem I’ve been looking for in Ojai. The space is thoughtfully created, stylish and clean yet cozy and warm and feels like a sweet home away from home that you don’t want to leave. The vibe feels very ”Ojai” with hand crafted objects and vintage ceramics, which is a wonderful environment for getting inspired and to be working on i.e. a creative project. The guest house is adjacent to the main house but has a private entrance and even a beautiful private little garden space so you feel like you have your own mini house nestled in the gorgeous hillside. Walkable to town and close to everything, shopping, hiking, everything that makes Ojai the little paradise of a town that it is. Can’t wait to be back at this gorgeous and special cocoon! Thank you for creating this special space, Anna!

  • Sherri's place is a gorgeous gem hidden near the Ojai Valley. The finishes on her tiny cabin space were high end and beautiful. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need; the bathroom as well. There were small touches everywhere intended to make us feel more welcome and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our time there, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone headed north of LA!

  • 100% recommend Sherri’s place if you’re traveling to Ojai. As others have said, amazing amenities including snacks and things to make a full breakfast, some fun games, super comfy bed, and quiet location. Only 10 min or so from downtown Ojai. Would stay again!

    Cassandra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri’s oasis is lovely, inviting, warm, clean and full of perks. She is a fantastic host and we highly recommend her cottage.

    Alysia2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Everything at Sherri’s place was so nice. A few special touches that I thought were extraordinary: chilled wine and note upon arrival; so many snacks, spices, drinks, bread, bathroom items, coffee that were gratis; the unit was so very clean; and fantastic communication. The attention to detail at this property did not go unnoticed. Highly recommend! I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Ellen2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic cottage! So comfortable. And the owner provided many nice amenities and touches. Highly recommend!

  • The Rockaway Cabin was a great place to stay. It was only 10 minutes away from downtown Ojai and close to hiking spots. Sherri was very accommodating and responsive. Can’t thank her enough for everything!

    Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri’s place was everything we hoped for and more. We wanted a nice, quiet trip for Valentine’s and her cabin certainly fit the bill. On top of that, the cabin is very well appointed with many lovely touches and great decor. But what set it apart from other Air BnB places we’ve stayed at is just how much is available to the guests. The pantry was fully stocked beyond our expectations. And the bathroom had every possible necessity that one might think of. We were very impressed. Sherri was always readily available and very pleasant to talk to. We would definitely come back!

    Laurencio2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sherri is an amazing Superhost and a really great person. She made the check in process more than convenient and is very thoughtful when it regards a guest. Sherri brought hospitality to the next level! The bedding is beyond comfortable, the property is on a beautiful road, the space has everything that a relaxed traveler could ask for. There are hikes around the area and plenty of neat things to see. Overall Sherri makes sure that you are more than relaxed and able to recharge from the hustle and bustle of city life. Such an awesome experience and I would highly recommend to all. Thank you Sherri!

    Oak View, CA, United States

Just 5 minutes from downtown Ojai, this sweet spot sits under an old oak tree. The sun-filled living room, gourmet kitchen, and ample yard, offer the perfect place for an artist, writer, or anyone looking for a break from the city.
The charming guest apartment is set in the front of a two home gated property on the exclusive Foothill Road. It sits under the canopy of a 100-year old oak tree. The goal for the property is to create an environment that fosters creativity and inner exploration. If you have a desire for some time to complete a project, are looking for inspiration to start something new, or just want to hide away with your journal and favorite book, then this is the perfect place for you. The over 800 sq foot space has an eclectic western feel with a mix of vintage decor, art, and books that I've collected from across the country and some travels from around the world. The living room is filled with natural light during the day, thanks to the two skylights and floor to ceiling glass doors. You'll also be able to see stars on a clear night through the limbs of the oak tree. The bedroom has a Queen size bed (the mattress is hypoallergenic and latex free), sitting area, friendly house plant, and large closet. The bathroom has a shower and large vanity. Towels, sheets and castile soap are provided. The gourmet kitchen includes a dishwasher, gas oven/stove, washer/dryer and comes stocked for all your cooking needs (electric kettle, french press, and Magic Bullet blender, etc.). Ojai tends to have hard water, so you'll be provided with reverse osmosis drinking water. There's an array of novels and coffee table books to flip through during your stay or just enjoy a cup of tea on the private patio or on the front porch while watching the walkers and bikers go by - you may even want to join them!
Foothill Road is a quiet residential street nestled in the foothills of the Topa Topa Mountains and lined with small estates and private vineyards. The top of the road opens onto the Pratt Trail and several other trails that offer a moderate hike that can last an hour or for a full afternoon. The town of Ojai sits at the bottom of the hill. A 15-minute walk or less than 5 minutes by car, you can be at the local bike shop, sitting with a tea in Bart's Books, or teeing off at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa's renowned golf course. We are also equidistant to Miners Oaks, which has some great casual restaurants like Farmer & the Cook, Papa Lennon's, and of course coffees from Coffee Connection. The house is just 25 minutes from the beaches of Ventura and Carpenteria, and 45 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara and it's surrounding wineries.
  • We loved staying with Julie. Her place is welcoming we were able to relax deeply.

    Laurel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • ***Note - we rented both homes on the property - the 'artist' cabin is shared with the larger space and doesn't have its own private outdoor area (and heating the pool isn't included in the list price). But if you have both spaces - the home is exquisite - corners for sunbathing any time of day! The garden, yoga room, pool ... indoor and outdoor space are magic! Julie's home is VERY well stocked for cooking meals, snuggling in for fireside meals and hangs. Our group fell in love!

    Nissa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Julie is an excellent host and her place was the perfect oasis!

    Chelsi2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay if you’re planning on visiting ojai. It’s a large space for 2 people. Host was super sweet, responsive, helpful with tips around the town. Her place was beautiful and very clean. I especially appreciated how she lend me her labtop charger which saved my life! I highly recommend staying at her place.

    Min Young2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a excellent stay at Julie’s beautiful home. The lay out, design and amenities were just as we expected - if not better! The one exception is that we were hoping to use the fire place, which was not functioning at the time. However, it had little consequence due to how much we enjoyed the space.

    Sam2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and tranquil space, this apartment has everything you need to have a great stay in Ojai!

Caravan Outpost, is a botanical garden filled with 10 Airstreams and 1 Wheel Haus, in Ojai, CA. One of the most unique places to stay in all of America. The Outpost is family-friendly and located right on the bike path to downtown. Please note we have a 2 night min stay on weekends. Thank you!
You can choose to enjoy a private seating area behind your Airstream/Wheel Haus or lounge in our common chill zones that are available to all our guests. We also have a lovely campfire at night (weather permitting), you can enjoy, where we also offer s’mores for your and yours to enjoy! Ojai is the Chumash word for Moon...come enjoy star and moon gazing in the Valley of the Moon (weather permitting).
The Outpost is nestled into an industrial neighborhood - easy to pass on the street, as we are a finely curated botanical garden...park on the street out front - it's safe and easy! Come on into the lobby for checkin....our friendly hosts will check you in.
  • The Caravan Outpost was so fun & we had a great stay!! It really is even CUTER in person than in the photos. Staff was awesome - friendly, helpful with tips for dinner or where to grab coffee. The fire pit at night was a highlight of the stay! Outside under the stars, eating S'mores, chatting with other guests. The bike path into town is worth taking too, we biked to breakfast and it was a beautiful morning outing. Great location overall, you can also walk to the main section of town in about 10 minutes. If you're staying on a weeknight, go to dinner EARLY! We tried to eat around 8pm and most places were done serving already. Tips for Vegan/plant-based eaters: There are plenty of places with vegan options if you look at menus ahead. We were happy with our food at the Harvest Moon restaurant (jackfruit tacos were amazing!) and the Ojai Pub serves dinner later (after 8pm) and had great veggie burgers and beers. We'll be back for sure!

  • My favorite local getaway is Ojai and Caravan Outpost is my favorite place to stay. The airstreams and the little house are equally magical, and are a short walk or bike ride from town. Highly recommend!

  • The place is fantastic! We loved the tiny house. Highly recommend it. The s’mores was a really nice touch.

  • We had an adorable and cozy stay in Julian for one night. Perfect stop in Ojai as we drove up the coast for the weekend. The outdoor space with fire pits and lights made for a beautiful ambiance under the star-lit sky. Take advantage of the bikes to cruise along the bike path perfectly situated next to the Caravan Post. Thanks for sharing your hip retreat!

  • Best place to stay in Ojai! Such a wonderful and warm experience with the best ever hosts. :) They could not have been more loving and embracing. The Nest cottage is superb and such a lovely place to be and stay. It felt like home away from home. Highlly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

    Gordon2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing three-month stay at The Nest. The Airbnb is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a long-term stay, from all cooking supplies to a washer/dryer to plenty of seating areas whether we were working or watching TV. It was a treat to have two outdoor spaces, both of which our dog loved. Hosts Rex and Deb are warm, friendly, and accommodating and made us feel right at home from the get-go. We were so sad to leave this place but we loved it so much that we'll definitely be back!

    Eaman2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at "The Nest"! It was the best Airbnb experience we've had so far. The space is lovely, the location is great and the hosts were wonderful. The house is small but fully functional with laundry, a well-appointed kitchen and a nice outdoor space. Highly recommended!

  • Wonderful cottage..... I really enjoyed my few days spent in Ojai.... The work that I needed to do for the greater good of this Universe was just the perfect place.... Meeting Rex the owner is a wonderful being, very welcoming and kind... The little touches to their place is so sweet with care... You can just feel the light and love that surrounds the property.... Thank you for welcoming me and my companions...(dogs) Blessings to you all.....

    Nicholette2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very much so! They invited us in, showed us around, and chatted amiably. Plus, we loved the free Pixie tangerines!

    Glenn2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • While we never met Kim face-to-face, she was helpful with all our questions and getting the whole thing sorted out. The owner, Rex and his wife were gracious and helpful and allowed us our privacy. With 2 cats in tow, this was much appreciated! The Nest was perfect - exactly the right size, the appliances and equipment modern and all worked. It was an easy 5-8 mins walk from the town center thru a pretty suburban/residential area. Sitting out on the patio or in the garden was perfect for a quiet breakfast and the dappled shade kept us cool on the hottest days. I'd definitely come back here.

    Leslie2016-04-08T00:00:00Z

We are now only taking bookings for 30 days or more due to new Ojai City Ordinances. We are renting the Rancho House for $3,500 per month. Please inquire only if you are interested in a long term rental. Thank you for your understanding. Located on Country Club Drive, which is the same road that leads up to the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, where you can enjoy spa treatments, or play golf and tennis. We are within a 10 minute walk to downtown Ojai where there are restaurants, shops, and the farmer's market every Sunday. Some of our favorite places downtown include, Bart's books, Osteria Monte Grappa restaurant, Knead Bakery, Hip Vegan restaurant, and the Mob shop. We are a short drive to some other must see/eat Ojai spots...the Farmer and the Cook, Meditation Mountain, Krishnamurti Foundation, and Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts. The bike path is right behind us and tons of hiking trails are all around. Guests of the Rancho House are welcome to the amenities at the Ojai Rancho Inn located behind the home. The Inn offers a swimming pool and sauna, as well as coffee and tea every morning. Both bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. The large balcony in the main bedroom faces the back of the property. *Please Note* Stairs leading to both bedrooms and bathroom are very steep and narrow…not ideal for elderly and children. Free wireless internet and cable television. Pets are allowed except no cats. The fee is $20 per pet for the duration of your stay. This main house shares a driveway and backyard with the Ojai Rancho Suite (our other Airbnb listing). The house is completely separated from the Suite, but it is all in one building. Both rentals have their own private entrances.
  • Great place to stay in Ojai

    David2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was wonderful, check in was easy, and the house was clean with all the amenities we could need. It's great to be so close to the hotel, so you can go to the Lobby for coffee, use the pool, and the bar at night is adorable and fun. One thing that we didn't realize when booking is the house is a duplex- you're sharing with another attached space.

  • Perfect Ojai base for a New Year's celebration. The Rancho House is a charming and well-decorated house at the Ojai Rancho Inn. Our group loved having a place where we could relax, cook and spread out while also being able to avail ourselves of the Rancho Inn amenities- especially loved the very hip bar! Super comfy beds, spacious kitchen, great table for cozy dinners and awesome fireplace.

    Melissa2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at the guest house! It was spacious and stylish and we just relaxed, drank wine, and had a lovely girls weekend. The house is walking distance to town and just so convenient. The Ojai Rancho Inn staff is always welcoming and friendly and we would love to stay there again in the future.

    Hector2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time there. It was very easy to relax as the house is comfortable with a lot of room downstairs and the neighborhood is quiet. It was easy to walk into town, to the athletic club, parks and to nearby grocery stores. Ojai is laid back and a great place to unwind. We will return.

    Mark2015-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was great. The location was pretty wonderful and we had the lovely experience of walking through the gate straight to the oyster truck and listening to music under the stars which was pretty special. Overall my friends and I loved lounging in the yard, waking up in bright and beautiful rooms and enjoying breakfast around the big table.

    Savannah2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our time in Ojai and at the Ojai Rancho house was phenomenal. The house itself is spacious and clean and we were always made to feel welcome. There is a wonderful backyard that leads to the rest of the Inn - where there is a cozy bar and on Thursday nights, an Oysters Truck and music. Wonderful! We will definitely want to stay here again! Thanks so much.

  • The house was the perfect family-friendly accommodation for our stay in Ojai! Clean, spacious, and quiet—with an expansive backyard and direct access to the Ojai Rancho Inn to boot! We will definitely be staying here again!

The home is in a cul-de-sac of 5 Mediterranean houses. As you turn into the road, you will see a sign that says, Private Road. You want the first house on the left. Park in front of the single garage door, part of a three door garage. Walk through the black iron gate and the guest house will be on your left.
There is a queen size bed with a memory foam mattress and 4 "My pillows", a small dining area, kitchen and full bath. I mention the pillows because some guests bring the same pillows with them. When they read this, they can leave their's at home. The kitchen has gone through a little make-over, A 3 piece section - Sink, cook top, small fridge, and some very convenient new drawers. Also, there is toaster oven, microwave, cuisinart coffee maker ( like Keurig with coffee pods). You can also use that for making tea. Put the tea bag where the coffee pods would go. If you like your tea super hot, microwave for a few extra seconds. You also have the use of a full size refrigerator freezer in the garage, it just needs plugging in. Downtown Ojai, 8 - 10 mins, downtown Ventura, beach 20 mins. Taking Baldwin Road, is the back route to Santa Barbara, past Lake Casita. Pick up the 101 freeway to Santa Barbara 40 mins.. So we are very well placed no matter where you want to go. There is a wall and black iron gate entrance and the guest house is on the left just inside the gate. Minimum stay: 30 nights. With one exception: 26 days in March 2020 available This exception was brought about because of upgrading the kitchen.
There is a main street behind the guest house, (La Luna), this takes you into MIner's Oaks. Ace Hardware, a butcher, some authentic Mexican food and more. Much more casual than downtown Ojai. There are several churches nearby and one Synagogue. Ojai Hospital is just 2 miles from my house. Back up 33 toward Ventura, the Circle K on your L will usually have the best priced gas.
  • Jaklin is an incredible host and the guest house was perfect. One of the most accommodating and attentive hosts. Thank you Jaklin.

    Cindy2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here a little over 5 weeks and the service was outstanding. Jaklin was attentive to any needs and cared that my stay was everything it could be. The casita was well furnished. The bed was very comfortable and there were more pillows than I could possible use. The location was great. Very quiet with minimum traffic noise. Wished I could have stayed the rest of my time in Ojai but the casita was occupied the next two months.

    David2019-12-24T00:00:00Z

  • Cute well furnished, comfortable and private room located just outside host’s main house (both gated). Close to downtown ojai. Had to request iron and ironing board but jacklin was quick to respond and I had all the amenities I needed including a well stocked kitchenette. On the third evening, I discovered ants on some of the furniture, mostly congregating around sweet snacks that I had left out during the day. Jacklin was again quick to respond and we had the situation under control with ant spray. In the meantime, she was flexible and gracious in allowing me to spend the night in the guest room inside her main home while we addressed the issue. Would not hesitate to return because of jacklin’s wonderful hospitality.

Chic, clean, bright décor. The enclosed patio offers a large living and entertaining space to the efficient studio. Ideal for a working artist or writer, with space to work, walking distance to dining, shopping, hiking and biking paths.
Upstairs from a wine tasting room that closes at 8 pm. Across the street from a unique shopping arcade. Walking distance to eateries of all types, vegan to pizza.
Coffee shops, wine tasting, restaurants, shopping, all within a few blocks downtown. Parks, golf courses, bike rental, library, all within a 15 minute stroll.
  • Great location with everything Ojai has to offer close by. Kitchen was fully furnished and lacked nothing. Very clean and stylish. Very nice fenced in patio that I was not able to use due to work but was available. Bed was very comfortable. Place came with a washer and dryer which I appreciated. Really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend both because of the accommodations and the services offered.

  • We stayed over a month at the Designer Studio in the heart of Ojai. The studio was sparkling clean and well equipped to meet our needs. An extra bonus was a large patio with tables and chairs where we could sit outdoors to enjoy our morning coffee and meals. The studio is conveniently located downtown which makes it a short walk to coffee shops, a variety of restaurants, wine tasting, boutiques and other shops, Farmers Market, Ojai Museum, Ojai library and the beautiful Libby Park. The Superhosts Barbara and Laura were outstanding, readily available to answer any questions and to assist in making our stay at the Designer Studio a memorable positive experience. We look forward to returning in the near future.

  • barbara was the most lovely host you could ever imagine. i arrived much later than i expected for check-in (on a friday night, on a holiday weekend no less) and she was so kind, accommodating and welcoming. the entire trip i felt more like an honored friend than a random visitor and enjoyed my stay immensely. barbara is such a bright light in the world and a true delight to meet. and did i mention the space was also fantastic? beautifully and thoughtfully designed, i felt right at home and enjoyed being right in the center of downtown ojai, where i could walk to everything i wanted and more. barbara also gave me some great local tips on the best trails, coffee shops and more. if i could give her (and the space) 10 stars i would!

Cute as cute can be..my 1946 California cottage is nestled right in the heart of Ojai Village. Location, location, location...wake up just a few footsteps away from the Farmer's Market along with top coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, and trails in town. The Cottage is ideal for friendly, responsible guests who want a relaxing, hassle-free experience in the best location in town. Your room opens up to a spectacular back yard and a new bathroom. This charming Ojai Cottage is a permitted BNB.
My cottage is sweet and serene. Clean, safe, and super cute. Huge front and back decks to chill out. Massive backyard with boutique dining and living space outside. The Cottage is walking distance to just about everything. We are literally next door to Su Nido Hotel and The Farmer's Market. It simply doesn't get any better than this...unless you want to pay a lot more for a lot less.
You are walking distance to just about everything. I sit next to Su Nido Hotel and across the street from the International Center for The Work. You can throw an apple and hit The Farmer's Market. 'Nut said:)
  • Great house in a great location. Large back yard to chill. We had a great time in Ojai. Ellen's guide on where to go out to eat and explore was alsovery useful. Thanks, Ellen

  • Location, location, location! Such a cute cottage with a beautiful backyard. Loved that we were one block away from downtown, we walked to everything! Loved this place so much!

  • Amazing location, gorgeous backyard, great space! It worked perfect for my husband, toddler and I... wish we could have stayed longer. Communication and check-in / out were easy. We will definitely be back!

  • If you have the chance to experience Ojai, Ellen’s charming home is the best way to immerse yourself in the spirit of this special area. Not only is her intown location absolutely perfect, but her aesthetic style, her attention to each detail (linens, pillows, flowers, activity suggestions etc) made us feel so at home. There’s a wonderful backyard, a heavenly bed, a good kitchen, and sometimes it was hard to leave the house and explore...it was that inviting. Thank you Ellen!

    Rex2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved Ellen's home. The place is very clean, easy to navigate, and so close to Ojai's main drag and local trails. Also, not a far drive to Ventura, where we took a ceramics class and explored for a wider selection of restaurants than that available in Ojai proper. Ellen provided trail and restaurant recs that we utilized as well. A major plus, the bed is comfortable with great bedding and pillows -- something not all hosts bother to offer. There is also a very large and inviting backyard though the weather in late December did not allow us to fully enjoy the yard. My only cautionary note, be timely with the checkout. We ran over about 30 mins and the cleaning staff showed up at exactly checkout time.

    Christopher2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of amenities, a beautiful house and backyard. We loved that we could walk to town and will definitely stay here again.

  • Great location and super cute! I would absolutely stay here again!

    Katie2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great space in a really good location. Super close to the main part of Ojai. The space worked well for my mom and me. Be aware that you have to walk thru the den (single bed) to get to the bedroom. The backyard and patios looked great, though we visited during an unusual period of rain so we didn’t get to use either.

Perfect for a romantic getaway or family gathering, this cozy house is situated on a tree-lined street between rambling canyons. Relax in the large back yard or dine under a charming verdant arbor. Capture the beauty of the Ojai Valley Pink Moment with your favorite wine or champagne. Villa Nova is a three bedroom & two full bathroom home designed with period Monterey furnishings.
Large patio table under a lovely arbor dripping with beautiful wisteria. Chiminea fireplace makes it a calming place to relax.
  • Perfect home! Perfect setting. Thank you!

  • This is a charming property with outstanding indoor and outdoor areas for lounging. The grounds are impeccably maintained. Great location for easy access to town as well as to the Ojai Valley Trail. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning an Ojai getaway.

  • What a fabulous home in Ojai! Both the house and grounds are peaceful and beautiful. My family very much appreciated the tranquil back porch area and spacious and well-outfitted kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and Christie provides most of the amenities needed for a perfect stay. It’s close to town as well. We will certainly come again if we visit the area. Terrific!

    Amy Rau2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • I'd have to work extremely hard to come up with something negative to say about this place. Christy was responsive and kind. The place was clean, unique and surrounded by green. Location was perfect. Not much else to say other than we'll be back.

    Andy2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. The house was easily the cleanest Air BnB we've ever stayed at and the amenities were exceptionally nice. Upon our arrival, we found a wine bottle and cheese plate awaiting us in the fridge. That, and the fresh oranges+juicer that let us enjoy fresh squeezed OJ each morning, were unique touches that made our stay one of our favorite ever.

    John2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This would be my SECOND review of Christy's place in Ojai, hopefully that says enough about how much we love it there? Everything from the location to the house to the owner was spectacular. Christy, thank you once again for making my dad's bday weekend a special one!

    Gregory2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely property! Our family enjoyed a long weekend in this terrific house, which is tastefully decorated in a western/cowboy theme. The garden offered several seating areas, including a dining table under a bower of wisteria - stunning. And, as the garden was in bloom, it smelled wonderful outside. We were appreciative of the delicious cheese tray and bowls of citrus. Loved making fresh squeezed OJ in the mornings. Kitchen was well appointed and beds very comfortable. Conveniently located and super clean. We hope to be back soon!

Cois Dara is a private guest house located in the foothills of the Los Padres Forest, and a five minute drive from the magical town of Ojai, California. It is named for its massive 150 year old oak tree that dominates the property. County of Ventura Short-term rental Ordinance July 19, 2018
Welcome to Cois Dara, a very unique and special property for quite time and reflection. Cois Dara's design and inspiration is based on my dream to create a place for relaxation, reflection, and renewal. The property design is based on my time in Morocco, where I stayed in a Riad and features elements of large sky vista, a garden with antique roses and an abundant orange tree, soaking tub, beautiful stone work, and an inner courtyard with pool and seating/dining area. The library is offered as a resource for the healing work that I am nationally recognized for at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical.
Cois Dara is a half acre retreat nestled at the base of the foothills of the Los Padres National Forest, yet within walking distance of the beautiful town of Ojai, 90 miles from LAX and 40 minutes from Santa Barbara. Ojai is situated in a small east-west valley, north of Ventura and east of Santa Barbara. It is approximately 15 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. Nordhoff Ridge, the western extension of the Topatopa Mountains, towers over the north side of the town and valley at more than 5,000 feet. Sulfur Mountain creates the southern range bounding the Ojai Valley, a little under 3,000 feet. This unique setting is widely considered one of the most sacred places on the earth. Its geology, spiritual energy, and natural beauty provided a healing ground for its earliest inhabitants, the Chumash Indians, and later, to many healers; Joseph Campbell, Anne Besant, Alice Bailey, Beatrice Woods, and Krishnamurti. Today, Ojai continues it's spiritual tradition with many retreat centers, the Kortona Institue, Meditation Mount, the Ojai Foundation, and of course, Cois Dara! Ojai is blessed with the climate of the Mediterranean, comparable to Tuscany, and characterized by warm, dry summers, and mild winters, with cool evenings and warm sunny days. Cois Dara is a very tranquil getaway, designed for relaxation, reflection, and recreation.
  • Julie was such a gracious and informative host. Her property is extraordinary. Clean beautiful rooms, a beautiful garden and back yard, and a wonderful kitchen to cook in. We barely left the house, instead we cozied up by the fire. Highly recommend staying here - it was perfect!

    Robin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place far exceeded all expectations. The space and grounds are breathtaking, within close walking distance to hiking and town. Julie is an outstanding host.

    Ellen2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's retreat is a peaceful, calming, quiet sanctuary. The home is bright and sunny and has global touches throughout in her interiors and decor. The outdoor areas - pool, shaded seating areas and tranquil garden combine to offer a restorative, restful haven to drink in clean Ojai air, look upwards to expansive blue skies and just relax! Julie was prompt in her responsiveness and ensured that the remote access was seamless, as well as our exit from the property at the end of our stay. She was attentive when we were on property to ensure we did not want for anything but respected our privacy. Julie's home is a wonderful Ojai gem.

    Margot2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Julies space is magical - we feel very lucky to have been able to spend the weekend there. You won’t want to leave- it’s better than the photos look - really sacred and magical space. Great for a group, a reset, family or friends. Thank you Julie!

    Kari2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cois Dara is a truly magical place. The moment you walk in, you feel a peaceful energy. Our group of four was perfectly content all weekend. No TV meant board games around the fire and lots of time in the gorgeous kitchen equipped with everything you could need, and just moving from one sitting area to the next. We can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the pool.

Our property is located in the magical East End of Ojai amidst avocado and orange groves. The guest cottage is a separate home and is situated under a canopy of mature trees which offers privacy for our guests. Nestled in a picturesque valley, Ojai is renowned for its' idyllic beauty and solitude. It has long drawn seekers, including the Indian sage Jiddu Krishnamurti and John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
The private cottage is a very cozy place to call home. We call it the Honey House and it is ideal for guests looking for a relaxed getaway from the hustle and bustle. We welcome people from all walks of life. Set under a canopy of mature tall trees with green plants everywhere. The fully shaded cottage is nicely furnished with wood furniture and a comfortable queen size bed with high quality linen and pillows. The kitchen is fully outfitted with everything to make you feel at home. We also provide a good selection of teas and coffee. The early mornings, evenings and nights are remarkably quiet due to the East End being sparsely populated. At night there isn't a sound to be heard except the odd owl hooting and crickets. There is a small private preschool nearby and the sounds of happy young children can sometimes be heard during the day, and that would only be weekdays. Although we love animals (we have 2 dogs and a cat of our own) we do not allow animals in or around the guest house. If you are coming from the big city you will no doubt be impressed by the crisp clean cool mountain air that comes in every night and lingers through the early morning. These are the best times to take a stroll along the orange and avocado grove streets that surround the property. We as your hosts have worked in the hotel services field and you can count on the cottage to be detail cleaned and well appointed with all the amenities to make you feel right at home. The Honey House is a very special and cozy place. Ideal for singles and couples, or if you are travelling with a friend we have a nice pull out futon that seconds as a comfy bed. Nearby is the Ojai Turtle Conservancy, Thacher School, Beatrice Wood Pottery Studio, the oft missed but spectacular Meher Mount with the most amazing views of Ventura County and of course Meditation Mount, which is the ultimate place to watch the sunset and is only a 5 minute drive from our property. Please note that the nightly price includes an 8% Transient Occupancy Tax.
The East End of Ojai has a long and storied past. John Lennon was known to hang out here and allegedly wrote "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" during his stay. He sought out the spiritual guru Krishnamurti who's library is located 1/2 mile from our location. Our street is lined with mature olive and oak trees. Local wineries are in town with several tasting rooms. Our neighbor Santa Barbara is only 40 minutes away. Come and enjoy the serenity.
  • Greg sets a really high bar in being a super host! Excellent and prompt communication. If the natural surroundings of Ojai weren't so lovely, one would be tempted to stay indoors for the entire time. The well-designed cottage is an idyllic setting for getting away from real world stresses.

    Genevieve2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful space and location. It’s extremely peaceful and close to the main strip of Ojai. I would highly recommend and stay again!

    Courtney2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet cottage by the orange groves is truly a special place! The house is clean and cozy, with privacy and a lovely backyard. Sabine and Greg were lovely hosts who offered us great local recommendations for amazing hiking, food, spots to visit, etc. This is the perfect spot to stay if you're looking for a special time in magical Ojai!

  • Fantastic location. A few minutes from town. Excellent cycling hub. Secure area for belongings.

    Tracy2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. Very functional space - appreciated the coffee and that you could cook there if you wanted. Did some hiking that Greg recommended and very much enjoyed our relaxing stay. The little patio felt quite private.

    Amanda2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sabine and Greg's place is a perfect getaway from Los Angeles and a great introduction to what Ojai is about. The guesthouse felt like a little retreat center surrounded by lemon farms, close enough to the town center and the mountains for day hikes. The hosts gave us a lowdown of life in Ojai and the close knit community that makes it such a unique place.

    Reef2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sabine and Greg's guest house was the perfect location for my solo escape from the city. It was very cozy and comfortable, and the back porch area was especially relaxing to hang out on. Whenever I needed anything, they were very responsive, and otherwise, I had total privacy. I wasn't in town long enough to take advantage of all of the resources they provided for exploring Ojai, but I hope to be back soon to check their recommendations out! I highly recommend this property!

  • What a rad spot, we had a great time staying here. Great location, nice sized room and bathtub open to the main room was excellent (I mean who doesn't want to soak and watch a movie at the same time). Sweet place to come home to while exploring Ojai. We loved the style and aesthetic and it was a pleasure to meet Erin, who gave us a sweet local hike/explore spot tip. We will totally recommend to our friends and hope to stay again next time we're in town.

My place is close to Beach, Downtown Ojai, Lake Casitas, Hiking, Shopping. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the coziness, the quiet. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Attention to details. the decor is pottery barn quality furniture, kitchen is fully equipped. the leather recliner is top of the line. this home is walking distance to the beautiful Lake casitas.
    Extremely safe and immaculate clean!!
  • Very nice place to stay with the Ojai valley trail available close by for hiking and biking. You are close to many things, but you feel like you have quiet and peace as well. Good kitchen to cook in and a comfy bed plus a lovely little town close by- what more could you ask for? Host is very quick to address issues-had a problem with the heat and let her know at 8:30 in the morning and a repair person was there at 9:05! Highly recommended.

    Ron2017-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in two units in the trailer park which we really enjoyed. The first unit (#13) was simple, accommodating, and had such a comfy bed! The second unit (#2) was brand new / updated with everything you would need for your stay. It truly felt like home. This location was perfect for us because work brought us here. Very quiet community with a little corner market. Nice place.

    Jasmin2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mariella made a mobile home available to me despite my lack of a track record on airBnB. Everybody has to start somewhere, right? The mobile home park was such a great place to come to while working away from home for such a long time. (I worked mid November to December 24 as a Santa in Oxnard.) I discovered the area and the restaurants and really enjoyed myself. There's a Thai restaurant about a mile away on Ventura, Om Thai. It became my 2nd home away from home. And the scenery. The vistas, the views, so beautiful. There's a campground less than a mile away. This place made a great respite and home base for working from out of town.

Decor is airy and fresh for a relaxing getaway with natural wood accents throughout and plenty of natural light. A quiet outdoor patio to relax and stargaze or listen to the owls and have a glass of wine, coffee in the morning or an afternoon tea break.
4 Minutes to downtown Ojai with a perfect Sunset view of the mountains from the dining table. Blackout curtains make this fresh space a perfect night’s sleep. Lots of light with ac and heater for summer and winter or hang out on your private patio. Relax with the crystal energies of the land.
Private neighborhood just a mile from downtown. Lots of horses and chickens around and fruit trees.
  • The cottage was exactly as described and we really enjoyed our time there. The bed was very comfortable- firm but not hard. The water was nice and hot. It was cold weather when we visited and the cottage was cozy and warm. The area was quiet and peaceful and we slept great! As is noted in the amenities list, shampoo, body wash and conditioner are not provided so plan accordingly. We had noticed that in advance and brought our toiletries. The bathroom was clean and bright. We liked the fun hooks made of natural wood! The kitchen has very basic supplies and no microwave, but we were there for family Thanksgiving, (which we had no intention of cooking!) so not a problem at all for us. We loved being a bit outside of the town so we could see stars at night. We would absolutely come back and stay again.

  • I'm travelling solo through Southern California and was spending a few nights in Ojai. The hotels were really expensive for some reason so I went for an Airbnb and found this place on the east edge of town. It's great! I had an entire cottage to myself, with its own living space, shower room etc. I especially liked the full kitchen in the property, even though I didn't get time to cook! You could walk into town easily enough from this Airbnb but it's also only 2-3 minutes by car. It's really quiet at this end of town - the garden through which you walk to get to the property is really pretty and the scent of figs from the tree outside is wonderful! On one special evening I stood outside and heard three owls hooting to each other in the trees, above the gentle chirrup of the cicadas. I spent three happy days in Ojai at this Airbnb and would recommend it without hesitation.

Nice and quiet, beautiful suite, tastefully decorated. All the amenities you could ask for. The pre arrival email was a wonderful surprise as was the time spent with us by Brett and Brad when we arrived. They provided a great welcome and helped us plan our stay. They could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We will be back.

Their place was spotless, spacious, convenient, comfortable with so many thoughtful touches. They were friendly, attentive hosts while allowing enough space and privacy. I truly treasure my time there and look forward to returning.

    Stephanie2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Bret & Brad are the most wonderful hosts you can imagine, the house is beautiful, the patio is a delight and your own apartment offers you everything you need

    Laetitia2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Bret and Brad's place is exactly as described- the perfect little oasis. The location is walking distance to local shopping, restaurants and coffee. We had a great time. We will definitely be returning to Ojai, and when we do, this is where we will stay!

    Jessica2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nothing but wonderful!!!

    Cindy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • I must either have a knack for choosing gorgeous Airbnb properties, or be be very lucky, because I keep finding great places to stay, and Bret and Brad's home tops the charts! Nestled in a tranquil nook just a couple of minutes from Ojai's best restaurants, this perfect property will make you feel like all your cares and stresses are melting away the minute you walk through the gate! The Airbnb is on the ground floor and is spacious and beautifully decorated. Bret and Brad have thought of everything when it comes to design, comfort and amenities. The bed is so soft it's HEAVENLY and the shower and bathroom are exquisite. I was made to feel so incredibly welcome during my stay and my only regret is that I couldn't stay longer!

And if you forgot your toothbrush, I have extra.
When you turn onto my street, you will try to avoid a very large Oak Tree in the middle of the road, further down, I live next door to the larges Pine tree you’ve ever seen. At the end of the Cul-de-sac, you enter the Land conservancy where there are nice walking trails and a small pond with Ducks, and other wild birds with cotton tail bunnies running across the trails. Back at my Casa, You just come to relax. There are a few restaurants & a small dive bar close by in this suburb of Ojai (Meiners Oaks) it takes about 7 minutes to get to downtown Ojai. It’s about 2o minutes to the beach in Ventura. About 45 minutes to Santa Barbara & 2 hours to L.A.

She's very generous with supplying snacks and goodies for her guests, and her place is so interesting! Every day I found something new to look at. The moment she opens her eyes, the music comes on. What a way to start a day!

Stunning home set on the edge of the Los Padres National Forest. Views for miles, enjoy the sunsets (or sunrise!) High ceilings, two fireplaces, large, comfy couches and lots of outdoor space make this home exquisite and unique. While only 5 minutes from town, this property has you feeling like you are miles away! Said to be "the most relaxing place I've ever been!" Enjoy serenity by the pool, cook meals in the high-end kitchen, and open the doors to experience indoor/outdoor living.
The stars at night are unparalleled and you can see the milky way. Enjoy a late-night soak in the hot tub while you marvel at the sky.
Ojai is a magical town said to be very spiritual and grounding. It was home to Krishnamurti and you can visit his center on Meditation Mount. The surrounding area and national forest has some amazing hiking for all abilities!
  • What a beauty! Communication with the host and the property manager was prompt and helpful. The location was stunning, as is the decor. Pictures don’t even do this house justice! (Which is typically the opposite of what you find on AirBnb). We loved the record player and surround sound in the house, the reverse osmosis filtered drinking water in the kitchen, the fireplace, the infinity pool and tub, and that everyone could fit in the kitchen when we were cooking or hanging out. The master bed was extremely comfortable as well! Everyone loved the shampoo in the showers and all of the details. Wish we could have stayed longer! It made for some birthday memories I will never forget.

  • Casey’s home is not to be missed! Already trying to find a weekend to go back. we were a group of 8 and the house had more than enough room. it’s a gorgeous home with plenty of outdoor space to relax by the pool. you feel like you’re in your own private resort. Casey is a wonderful host and the house manager Jordan was incredibly helpful throughout!

    Molly2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and well appointed. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. We cooked every night! The infinity pool is outstanding and sunsets are gorgeous. Jordan - the local caretaker - was gracious and full of great suggestions for hikes in the area. The house is full of light and so are the bedrooms. We loved it and we were happy to wake up early, but if you need full darkness to sleep you should bring eye masks in case you want to sleep late on summer’s mornings. We had a great stay at Casey’s property and hope to go back soon.

Close to everything. We are located on a small town road that can be busy during the day but quiet at night. A small market and coffee house are directly across the street as well as the Ojai Trolley stop.
  • Simple and clean, Topa Vista was a great choice for a quick stay in Ojai. A short walk to The Farmer and the Cook for breakfast, and close to many trailheads for fantastic hikes in the Meiner's Oaks area. The room was pleasant, the bed very comfortable. The hosts were kind and attentive.

  • The inn is perfect for weekend getaways to Ojai. It's very close to all the climbing and hiking areas which was very appreciated. The hot tub is great after a long day outdoors and exploring the town. Downtown is a few minutes away with great food and coffee. Will definitely stay here again next time!

    Phillip2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the tub was amazing and Steven was very accommodating about letting us check in a little early so we could get ready for the wedding we were attending. Looking forward to our next stay.

    Robin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The room I stayed in was super cute — it’s one in a row of rooms, all part of the same roadside motel. The tub is great, the bed is comfy, plenty of space for one person or a couple. It was very clean, and check in was a breeze. Parking is convenient. The roadside motel vibe is really fun, and the fact that the room is so clean and nice inside makes it even better.

    Cat2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and location, just a 5-minute drive from downtown Ojai. Erin was very responsive and attentive to our needs. The jacuzzi tub in Room 2 is large enough for two and is fabulous! There's also a laundry room available for guests to use and though the place is located at an intersection, it is mostly quiet after dark. There are lovely hiking trails just down the road with a duck pond and benches. We really had a lovely stay!

    William2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Other places in the area were so inflated in their cost ... we wondered whether this could be too good to be true! It's true, and very! The place was cozy and stylish and looked better than in the pictures. We absolutely loved the jacuzzi tub. We actually had originally booked for just one night, but fortunately Steven had an opening for us to stay another night .... We used the tub each night. The jets were soothing. The last night we stayed in for three hours! We both came out like raisins lol. The big shower was great too. Nice for a romantic weekend. The location was great, close to town. Beautiful, rustic country feel. Parking (right outside the room) as well as self check in was a breeze. I thought that staying in a restored hotel was awesome. Here you had better privacy, (as compared to renting a room in a home, having shared spaces, having to check in at the hotel lobby), but also the niceties of a hotel (little complimentary soaps, shampoo, conditioner). Erin was super helpful, welcoming and friendly. I got responses to my inquiries right away. We had my spoiled little chihuahua with us, Carlos. There was a nice big area on their property where there were chickens....a large space to walk. Hope to be back soon!

  • Such a rad place! Glamping at its finest.

    Brad2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here as a solo traveler exploring Ojai! It was immediately amazing...the gift shop, the awesome music, and communal fireplace area were great. I loved the privacy around the airstream with the palm trees and plants. It was great that everyone respected quiet hours- music and conversation died down at 10 PM. The airstream game with a record player, a kitchen with dishes stocked, and windows to open up. Definitely the best way to experience Ojai!

    Cameron2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • So much more charming than I expected. The Caravan Outpost is like a tiny little neighborhood of multiple airstreams complete with a fire pit, gift shop, big tables, and lots of comfy seating, plus complementary tea and 'smores. Stylish and relaxing! My boyfriend and I brought our dog, and he loved our stay as well :)

    Amanda2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, this place is such a gem! Impeccable clean and stylish, it’s perfect for a getaway with friends family or a loved one. I rented an airstream for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his birthday in Ojai, and it was beyond amazing. There were so many little details that made the place super homey. I love the vinyl records in our camper, the decor, the kitchenette. When we arrived at night after soaking in the hot springs, we were warmly greeted and the staff member was so sweet and helpful. Outside there was a crackling fire, warm blankets, and platter to make s’mores. There are really fantastic amenities and goods from local artists. I love how private it felt to be in the airstream, there is a lot of foliage and trees between each one. It was quiet and relaxing, and I love that we had a fully stocked kitchenette to cook, eat, and make tea. They also have two options to shower - there is a shower and bathroom in the airstream, as well as a big shower room on the side of the office building. Everything is immaculately clean, and the shower room was spacious, bright, and had a heater. The outdoor seating and lounge areas are great, you could borrow bikes to ride around town, and there are games to play. Each camper has a private seating area and hammock. Only a 15 minute drive to the hot springs. They also have WiFi. The staff were all amazing and I will be returning there as my first choice for accommodations every time I’m in Ojai. I highly recommend, and already shared this spot with at least 10 friends!
