You'll sleep in a loft nestled in the trees, and wake up to the songs of the morning birds. Super comfy and country casual, the tiny house has everything you'll need in 120 TINY square feet of charm, right in our backyard in case you need anything at all. *** This cozy spot is for folks who like it simple, small, rustic and sweet. *** *** Please read our house rules to ensure this is the right spot for you.***
Our Tiny House in the Trees is for whimsical and playful folks who like things intimate, cozy and homespun. You'll be charmed by how comfy and relaxed it feels to nest in an itty bitty home. (Super itty bitty.) Snuggle down! Enjoy your morning coffee on the porch and sleep snuggled up in the loft. Please really expect a TINY house. Indeed, this house is smaller than a hotel room. The Tiny House is in the backyard of our home. Our pup and our little boy are sometimes out back playing. You'll come in and go out through a a big gate at the top of the driveway. There's a latch on the gate that should be closed at all times. And just so you know, there's always a house project going on in the backyard. : )
Northgate Park straddles I85 on the north side of downtown Durham. Our place is in the northern half of Northgate, about a seven minute drive from downtown. It's a sweet and quiet neighborhood filled with friendly families riding their bikes and walking their dogs. Within a couple miles you'll find all you need: supermarkets, lots of yummy restaurants, the Life and Science Museum, walking and biking trails, big beautiful parks and lots more. Please consult the local map for resources. Or ask us! You'll definitely need a car to get around from this neighborhood. And so as not to tax the neighborhood, it would be best to bring only one car and please only park in front of our house. Actual mileage to... Downtown (the square): 1.9 miles Duke (east campus): 2.2 miles Whole Foods: 2.1 miles Farmer's Market: 1.7 miles
  • 10/10 experience. Very close to downtown while still feeling secluded. Perfect size for 2 people, would be tight with anymore. Mira was very responsive and gave great local recommendations. Would love to stay again.

  • This little tiny house was a perfect getaway even for just a night. It was such a relaxing environment. My fiancée and I enjoyed the puzzles, coloring books, and bluetooth speaker that was provided. We spent the night listening to good music and chatting. Thank you for letting us enjoy your little piece of heaven.

Jarret and Mira gave recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Durham too! I enjoyed my stay so much and I would love to return in the future!

Our yurt (30ft. dia.) is rustic, beautiful, quiet, in deep woods with deck overlooking pond. Great for couples, small families (not childproof). Includes hot tub & Woodland Banners Poetry Walk. Beds are futons. It's warm June-Aug. (no A/C, plenty fans), but way cooler than the city. It's cold Nov.-March (wood stove heat). Mini-fridge & microwave (no kitchen/plumbing). Bath-house is 2-min. walk (toilet, sink, shower). Two minutes to Saxapahaw. Read description for more info. SERIOUSLY NO PARTIES.
This yurt offers an adventure in glamping. The large round canvas structure is sited in the woods, with its own big deck (with fire-pit) overlooking Frog Pond. Inside are electricity, bottled water, 2 beds, wood stove, recliner and plenty of places to sit & chill. The big table is right for dining or doing projects. We offer coffee + coffeemaker (you make) but no breakfast. There's also a mini-fridge, microwave, plates, cups and utensils, fireplace wood. There is wi-fi & plenty books, games & DVDs (no TV; bring your laptop). The yurt is especially enjoyable in the spring and fall, and magically great in the rain. It can get cold in late fall/winter, esp. early morning. If you have a sleeping bag you love, bring it. It will be hot June-August. The space is not childproof, so best not to bring toddlers.
Frog Pond Farm is located about two-and-a-half miles from Saxapahaw, a 200-year-old mill village on the Haw River. Saxapahaw is a thriving tourist destination, offering Saxapahaw General Store, The Eddy Pub, Cup 22 Coffeehouse, Haw River Ballroom, The Bridge Center for Healing Arts, Left Bank Butchery, Saxapahaw Museum, and Haw River Farmhouse Ales brewery. Look them up on the web for current events. Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co. can take you boating on the river, and you can hike the Haw River Trail. For supermarkets or liquor stores, you can drive to Graham (take Hwy 87 north) or to Carrboro/Chapel Hill (take Hwy 54 east); they are both 15 miles from Saxapahaw.
  • Had a second great stay! My only suggestion is to extend the driveway down. I appreciated the clean towels and loved the animals! Will definitely be back next year!

    Nicole2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Love it every time!

    Paige2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unique place to stay nestled in a private wooded property. Great place to get away and relax from the rush of life. I am cold natured and stayed plenty warm with the wood fire and it got down to the 20s at night.

    Michelle2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! If you have the opportunity to visit, even just for a night, it’s wonderful. Don’t let the cold weather stop you...the wood burning fire place keeps you toasty warm and the hot tub in the freezing cold weather is awesome! I would say we picked the perfect time to stay-no bugs and cold weather for a fire! We had so much fun getting away for a few days here. Steven and Linda are great and we loved the dogs visiting and listening to the sounds of the rooster and geese! We had an unexpected treat of rain on the first night. The sound of the rain on the yurt roof along with the cozy fire and hot tub was so relaxing. We will definitely be returning!

    Candy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! 3 Minutes from Saxapahaw general store, brewery and ballroom. Every thing we needed was provided. This includes firewood which made our stay surprisingly warm despite temperatures just below freezing. The hot tub was great for a morning soak. Linda has great communication and check in was a breeze. We enjoyed our conversation with the host and look forward to staying at Frog Pond again.

    Derek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Magical little place. Loved our short stay.

    Maria2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! There is such history to the yurt and it really makes the space feel special. The hot tub and the view of the woods were such a relaxing touch. Highly recommend if your into nature and want a little escape from the woods

This is the perfect little spot to call home base while exploring Raleigh. Steps away from the Person Street district (Yellow Dog, the Station, Pelagic Beer) and a 25 min walk (or free R-line bus ride) to everything else downtown has to offer.
Beautiful carriage house above garage, detached from the main home by stairwell and completely private. The suite has a full bath and kitchenette with a microwave, sink and fridge as well as a small dining area and living space. The TV has a roku set up, but not cable. Guests will need to climb (1) flight of stairs to access their space as it is on a second story and will also need to walk along a stepping stone side path to enter the space. Please be advised, we have an external video camera on the outside of our home for security purposes :)
This is a quiet and safe neighborhood very close to Downtown Raleigh and walking distance to William Peace University, Downtown and the Person Street district.
  • Jay and Mary’s place is so beautiful. Check in is super easy because there is a key pad. They were communicative throughout the stay and even suggested a place for us to go to breakfast that was a short walk from their home. Everything was clean and organized. We even loved the adorable little decorations they had throughout the room. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was soft/not too heavy. I would definitely recommend Jay and Mary’s place to anyone looking for an awesome place to stay in Raleigh. If we are ever in town again, this will be the first place we will try to stay. :)

    Skylar2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely space! I couldn’t have asked for a better space or better hosts. It’s in a great neighborhood, decorated beautifully, great amenities and extra touches that make you feel welcomed and taken care of.

    April2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space for a trip to explore Raleigh. Very clean, spacious, and Jay and Mary had great recommendations on things to do around town.

    Oliver2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jay and Mary’s place is in a really cute neighborhood. If you are traveling to raleigh to explore Id say you might want to either bring a car or stay a little closer to all the “stuff”. My fiancé and I ended up ubering every day. But it is such a good value, and so clean. They were very helpful with providing recommendations and were very communicative. My only complaint was that I wanted a full length minor. which is so minor I maybe shouldn’t even mention it! 10 stars if I could.

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Smooth process and my heart felt happy and immediately comfortable as soon as I walked into the space. Relaxing and clean!

    Elise2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Raleigh for a concert nearby. We chose Jay and Mary's place because it was in our price range, was in a fantastic location, and looked like a beautiful place to stay! We were suprised by how well put together the space was, and the thoughtful touches that were provided. Such as shampoo/conditioner, extra towels, cotton balls/swabs, snacks, oatmeal, etc. The location was perfect! Within a 10 minute drive of everything we wanted to do and see. Theres also a hub of great local restaurants nearby. I didnt personally meet the hosts, but my partner did and he said they were extremely kind and welcoming. Overall a fantastic place to stay! Will come again next time we take a trip up to Raleigh.

    Ally2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cute above the garage apartment that's so close to everything. We never drove over 10 minutes to get anywhere. Very clean and quiet and they thoughtfully checked in on us periodically via text to make sure our stay met our expectations. Would book again.

Our 128 sq ft tiny house is located on Wildwoods Community Farm, a 4-acre nonprofit permaculture farm and dedicated tiny house community. At Wildwoods, our mission is to educate the public on the various facets of sustainable living. We're also only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Whether you come for the experience of staying in a tiny house, or just need a cozy place to lay your head, we'll do our best to make sure that your stay is rejuvenating and memorable :)
____________________________________ **COVID-19 Update: As a superhost, the safety and comfort of my guests is my main priority. I have been following the CDC's protocols for disinfecting a space, and want to reassure guests that I will be very thorough in cleaning and preparing the house for you. I also have a flexible cancelation policy to accommodate changing circumstances. ____________________________________ To be able to fit all of the necessities of living into a space that is less than 250 square feet requires careful design and planning. We utilized every square foot in carefully crafting this 128 square foot home that's both functional and beautiful. The home contains a few distinct 'rooms': you first enter into the living room, with an adjustable futon, desk/work space, closet, and a growing book & movie collection. Then you walk back towards the kitchen, with spices, cooking oils, and all the cookware you'd need to make a home-cooked meal for yourselves. The adjacent bathroom contains a toilet and a shower with plenty of hot water on demand. And above you is the wonderfully cozy sleeping loft, with a super comfy queen-sized memory foam bed and window that you can prop open to enjoy the breeze and sounds wafting in from the farm. Undoubtedly, this is a great place to unplug and reconnect with nature: The farm itself is beautiful, and becomes more so every day as we continue to build and cultivate the land. There are also hiking trails just a short walk from the front door. On the other hand, we don't eschew modern conveniences--guests can stay connected on our high-speed fiber wifi :)
There is a lot to explore in this area, but notable attractions in the immediate area are: -Honeysuckle Tea House, serving up teas grown on-site, baked goods, smoothies and occasionally some live music (now open for the season!) -Maple View Farm and Dairy (a local fave for fresh ice cream) -Pickards Mountain Eco-Institute -Keith Arboretum: one of the largest collections of woody plants east of the Mississippi There are also many nice trails and hikes at the nearby Carolina North Forest, and some of the best views in the Piedmont at the Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area in Hillsborough. For a nice day trip, the nearby town of Saxapahaw (20 min away) on the Haw River is a gem, especially on Saturdays with its bustling farmers' market full of food, music, and activities.
  • Brandon was one of the most thoughtful Air BnB hosts I’ve ever met! He kindly hosted me and a friend on a last-minute trip and communicated promptly throughout the entire process. The house itself is the tiny home of my dreams— lots of natural sunlight, plants, and a front porch with lounge chairs to rest on during the day or stargaze from at night. Upon arrival, we were met by the two friendliest (wild) neighborhood ducks— an experience that I wish came with all Air BnB homes! Brandon ensured that the home was well-stocked with both toiletry items and kitchen supplements (including coffee, creamer, condiments, tea, snacks). He was available to answer questions about recommendations for hiking and even drew a map for us of one of his favorite trails. We were able to sleep with the windows open (with screens) and fall asleep to the distant chirps of the Spring Peepers as the cool breeze swept through the cabin. I would 100% recommend his place to anyone looking for a cozy, tiny home off the beaten path (but still very accessible to Carrboro/Chapel Hill/the rest of the triangle) and look forward to coming back in the future.

    Meghan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, cozy, well organized, and stocked with things to make the stay more pleasant. A+ communication from the host as well as outstanding hospitality. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Brandon’s place is was clean comfortable and super cozy. Brandon was communicative and friendly. I hope to come back and stay a few more days in the summertime!

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house we stayed in was stylish. Our first tiny house experience. Beautiful farm. Brandon accommodated our needs, stayed up late until we arrived and let us stay a bit later. Loved the experience! Definitely a must have for your bucket list.

    Lori2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was even better than I could have expected! Extremely well designed and thought out. It was a novelty but was very homey and cozy. We had been on the road for a few weeks and it was the perfect end to our journey. Comfy bed, used the grill, and watched birds! Brandon was a great host and was very helpful and nice to talk to!

    Caroll2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon is a fantastic host. We stayed in the same tiny house a few years ago and it was such a memorable visit, we decided to do it again. It's a great experience if you're looking to do something off the beaten path and enjoy Chapel Hill/Carrboro.

    Goeun2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place! My daughter and I stayed here for a night and it was very comfortable, convenient, quiet, and clean. Brandon is easy to work with and has a great list of local activities and restaurants. This listing will be on the top of our list when we return to the area. Thank you for sharing your tiny house!

    Catherine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our tiny house stay was a great way to have a relaxing getaway. Brandon was very welcoming and shared his experiences with building tiny homes. Conveniently located not too far from downtown areas but far enough away to find some tranquility. Highly recommend staying here.

The guesthouse is one mile North of central downtown Raleigh in a quiet neighborhood near Seaboard 18 shopping and dining area. You can walk to breakfast at Yellow Dog bakery, walk to dinner at highly rated restaurants, and end your day with chocolates from local chocolatier Escazu.
This 500 square-foot guesthouse is a private room above a detached garage. It has loft ceilings, generous lighting, a comfortable king-sized bed, full-sized couch with sitting area, and full-sized private bathroom with tub. In-room Keurig coffee maker with coffee pods provided. Includes microwave, mini-frig, and plates and utensils.
The Person Street Corridor is the new hot area in Raleigh. For decades, the main draw on Raleigh’s North Person Street was historic Krispy Kreme. Now the area bordering Oakwood is bustling with new restaurants, bars and an upscale market. Retail shops contribute to the mix, giving the district a nice balance for patrons. There are two restaurants nearby that are almost always booked. I'd recommend getting a reservation as far ahead as possible. Stanbury (Hip, rustic venue for creative, seasonal New American small plates & entrees, plus craft cocktails). And Standard Foods (Hip, contemporary locale featuring updated Southern cooking & a market selling artisanal foods).
  • Had a great stay here. Place was clean, spacious, and bright. About a 15 minute walk from some cute restaurants. And a 5 minute drive to downtown area with tons of fun stuff to do.

    Francina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described. Very spacious and within walking distance to several areas in Raleigh, including downtown.

    Haley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, super clean and comfortable! Close to downtown Raleigh, which has many great restaurants to choose from. Loved the sound of the train whistle. As Rebecca said, it was very calming.

    Mary Beth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, convenient space with easy garage access in a great neighborhood in Raleigh! Rebecca was accommodating and got back to me right away about a last minute trip.

    Sydney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was unexpectedly perfect! It’s a guest space over a garage but it feels huge. It is right near downtown so getting an Uber was cheap and easy. There was also so many extras I wasn’t expecting. From spare toothbrushes to a hair straightener, this place literally had everything. Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Raleigh!

    Breanne2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great space in a convenient location near good restaurants, historical homes and the capital area. Quiet and sunny. I had no trouble finding it. Easy check-in and communication.

    Judith2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Affordable, spacious, clean, private, and thoughtful space. Very zen and SPARKLING clean. Great location and logistics described/written well. 10/10 recommended. (Large comfy bed, too)

    Halle2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The space is just as advertised. Very clean, simple check in/checkout and great communication from the host. Location could not be better but make sure to plan ahead as far as reservations are concerned as you’ll miss out on some of the best offerings that Raleigh has available if you don’t plan accordingly. Next time I’m in Raleigh I will be checking the availability of this option first. Would very highly recommend.

Welcome! Our modern suite offers a cozy bed-n-bath combo with private entry from the deck. Watch Netflix on TV from the bed, breathe easy with a diffuser, store leftovers in the mini fridge, and wake up to Keurig coffee in the morning! The memory foam mattress is also new. We are located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood near the “Crossroads” of US-1 and I-40, just a short drive to anywhere in the Triangle. We can give plenty of local recommendations, too. We look forward to hosting you!
We love our house and do our best to make it nice. Everything is newly remodeled. We are happy to provide essentials for your stay - towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc. Note: the TV has Netflix and YouTube but not cable or other services. The Modern suite also has an electric air unit mounted for both hot and cold air. The remote is in the desk drawer. Please turn the unit off when not in use (like when you go out). The house also has central air, but the electric unit provides extra comfort and control.
Our neighborhood is wooded and peaceful. There is no traffic or roadway noise. Most of the houses were built in the 1970s. Please park in the driveway if it doesn't have other cars or on the street directly in front of the house.
  • This space is absolutely adorable! Clean showers, a cute safe space. I never felt uncomfortable or anything. I would definitely want to come back!

  • If I could give this place 7 stars- I would. Set in the perfection location with multiple eateries in close proximity. This place is clean and has a quaint vibe. In the event I return for an overnight stay in Raleigh, I will check here first.

  • My boyfriend and I loved this space so much! It was extremely clean, such a cute space, had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, silverware) and was a perfect location to explore Raleigh and the surrounding areas! Will definitely stay here again when we’re in NC!

Come get away from it all—while conveniently located close to everything—at Laurel Branch Gardens, a 12-acre family farm that uses organic growing practices. About 100 yards from the farm house, the cabin is a old tobacco barn fully renovated to include a sleeping loft, full kitchen, bathroom, and living area. Meet the pigs, chickens and goats. Lay in the hammock. Listen to bird calls outside your windows. Practice social distancing in a serene natural setting.
While you’re here, we hope that you'll explore the farm—including a visit to the pigs, goats, and chickens and the trails around the property that lead to Laurel Creek. Or, just come for the great location. Everything is accessible from here: we’re 12 minutes from the airport, 10 from Falls Lake, 20 from downtown Durham and Research Triangle Park, and 25 from downtown Raleigh. For whatever reason you find yourself here, we’ll welcome you with a basket of seasonal produce from our farm (all pesticide-free) and a comfortable and clean space where surfaces are disinfected between guests. All guests welcome! Two medium-sized dogs also call the farm home; both are very loving and likely to come say hi at some point. Please note that, as pictured, a bed and futon are always available. We also have an air mattress and high quality camping pads that can be used when more sleeping spaces are needed; just let us know! We also have spaces for tent-camping if your group wants to spread out. We are happy to host small and medium dogs at the cabin (we are unable to host guests with cats). If you would like to bring a dog, please indicate this in your initial message. There is a $50 non-refundable fee for dogs.
We are in a rural area right on the edge of Durham County. Surrounded on three sides by forests, our farm feels secluded but is also convenient to restaurants, a movie theater, and shopping-the closest of which are less than 10 minutes away. Peaceful is one of the characteristics our guests use most often to describe our farm.
  • Robin’s place was a home away from home for our girls. I couldn’t have been more comfortable with their hosts who looked after them while in NC. Thanks for your TLC.

    Selma2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Me and 3 friends visited for a few days during our spring break from grad school and loved this place! Much more than just a place to lay our heads, the farm is an experience in itself. We loved the country feel, the small cabin homey-ness, and the property with the animals. I brought my dog and she was free to roam the farm, loving the freedom and fresh air. The location was perfect for some city exploring of either Raleigh or Durham while still having the relaxing setting of the country. Would definitely recommend this place!

    Jen2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our family spent a relaxing, amazing weekend at the cabin! Check in and out were easy and informative. Robyn & Evan were wonderful hosts! The cabin had everything we needed with a great view, comfortable bed and beautiful rustic touches. Our daughter truly enjoyed playing with the children and visiting with the pigs, chickens and goats. We'll be back in the Summer! Thanks for a great weekend and wonderful memories!

    Mallory2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly cozy and homey nestled in an exemplary farm when considering sustainability. Really impressed with how private the space felt even though the cabin was on a working farm’s property. Amenities were more than adequate, bed was very comfortable, and the amount of natural light that came into the cabin really took the cake for us.

    Brendan2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really what we were looking for. Quiet, beautiful, pieceful, cute, magnificent, splendid, stunning, lovely! Name it all, I got nothing to say negative about this place. We met the whole family including the pigs, goats and dogs. They are all super friendly, the kids are very cute too ☺️. We wish we had stayed longer!! If you are looking for a rustic cabin get away, this is the perfect place 🙏

Come stay at our modern vintage guesthouse in Historic Trinity Park. Our cottage has all modern appliances with vintage fixtures. This 380 square foot cottage is located in a very lively and safe neighborhood just minutes from downtown Durham. Walk one mile on the Ellerbe creek trail to downtown and enjoy all the great entertainment Durham has to offer. Walk 1.5 mile to 9th street restaurants and shops 1 mile to Central Park and farmers market <1 mile to bars and restaurants on geer street
Our cottage has all the modern amenities provided to make your stay comfortable. We have carefully selected vintage fixtures to make the cottage stand out from the pack! The 380 square foot feels much bigger than its size would suggest. The fully equipped kitchen has a brand new stove and euro fridge.. sorry no dishwasher. The bedroom has a queen size bed and an armoire for your clothes. The living room/dinning room are open to the kitchen and provide ample space for relaxing and dining. We also provide complementary coffee/tea and wifi.
The cottage is located on a quite cul-de-sac in historic Trinity Park. The Ellerbe Creek Trail is a greenway located at the end of the street that provides a great way to walk downtown, about 1 mile. The street consists of 1940's single family bungalows all with beautiful trees and gardens.
  • The space was well laid-out and had a retro look that we really liked. Quiet area not too far from the action.

  • This place was perfect for our little over night adventure to Durham. There place was very clean! Comfortable bed. I am sensitive to fragrances and was very pleased to enter a place without all the strong air fresheners that a lot of places have. I also noticed that the cleaning supplies was all organic! Highly recommend! If we ever visit Durham again, I hope to stay here.

    Amanda2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • You will love the feel of this cottage. Everything about the space was thoughtfully put together. The design was unique and very comfortable. Timur had coffee, water and snack bars available for his guests. Just make sure you know how to use a french press. I had never used one before but looked online and it was not a problem. We would definitely consider staying there again for an overnight stay.

  • Quaint little private cottage near Northgate Mall. Ioved the artsy theme and full kitchen was nice. It was very clean . I would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to Durham for Duke games💙

  • The cottage is beautiful and really feels like home for however long you stay. It's beautifully designed with great artwork and furniture. It comes with great amenities like coffee, granola bars, an AppleTV, etc. Also, the bed is soooo comfortable. Timur is quick to respond with any questions and made the check-in process very seamless. We really didn't want to leave the cottage once our time was up and will definitely stay here when we come back to Durham!

Pet friendly living space with a sectional couch and entertainment. Private bedroom/ queen size bed. Private newly renovated full bathroom with private shower. This is a split level home. I live in the upstairs. The entire bottom level is yours with a private entrance. Location is a beautiful wooded lot near trails to the Eno River. Large deck on the back.
Warm and welcoming space. I enjoy meeting new people but if you want your privacy that is okay as well. I enjoy making peoples stays comfortable and enjoyable. Deck on the back of the house is open for you to enjoy and includes access to hot tub in the colder months! If you love the outdoors this is the place for you.
Lovely, quiet older neighborhood with amazing access to trails along the Eno River. Walking distance to the 4th of July Eno Festival.
  • David was an amazing host. His place is small and private but great for a quick get-away or mini trip to see friends and family.

  • This place was absolutely amazing. We spent a week there and had no problems. It was a great space for a great price. David answered texts promptly and was awesome. He also had a ton of bronco stuff, so my husband was happy. Will definitely stay there again.

  • We were taking a stopover at Durham during a move to our next destination and David’s place was well-organized to relax overnight after a hectic move activity. We were well-taken care of and accommodated for our late night check-in. David was always responding on-time to help us plan and arrive reassured. The place was homey and our kid was excited to meet his friendly pet next morning.

    Abhinav2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Given the prices of hotels in the Raleigh-Durham area, this is an excellent find. David’s place is spacious, clean and comfortable. Check-in and communication were incredibly easy. It is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood that is not far from a supermarket and restaurants. You have easy access to the washer and dryer, a mini-fridge and a coffee maker. The WIFI worked perfectly and logging in was easy. And the Netflix on the TV was already set up with a guest account! I had a very pleasant stay here and would highly suggest you take a look at it if you’re staying in the area. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Our renovated 1905 home is quietly tucked away in Historic Morehead Hill, a Durham neighborhood just southwest of the city center. There a sunny and peaceful room, cozy bed and full, private, en suite bathroom await you after a day of sightseeing. From here, it's a 10-minute walk to Downtown, DPAC, & Duke East. Continental breakfast included. We encourage you to read our entire listing including the Getting Around and Neighborhood sections.
Our historic home built around 1905 has been completely renovated and updated. The home is located in a diverse, emerging, historic neighborhood called Morehead Hill (see the Neighborhood section!). It is very safe, active, and near everything if you're willing to walk (we and our neighbors walk just about everywhere - see the Getting Around section!). Overall the home is just shy of 1600 sq/ft, with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Your bedroom, which has a full-size bed and an attached, private, full bath, is located in the front of the house, just inside the front door for your ease in coming and going. Plus, the room has both honeycomb shades and black-out drapes for adjusting your desired level of privacy and light. Your quiet, sunny room includes a desk, reading chair, and the bed is extra comfy with a pillow top. People spend a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful North Carolina weather and our neighborhood is no different. There is a large front porch for sipping some tea and a wonderful screened in back deck for morning coffee or relaxing with a cold beer. While you can't see it from the street, our backyard is like a little green cave with mature trees and a little creek. We especially love how private, quiet and wooded it is even though we are so close to downtown. From our screened-in back porch we've spotted foxes, owls, hawks, raccoons, opossums, and an abundance of squirrels and birds.
Morehead Hill is a designated historic neighborhood which is rich in history and beauty. It is a primarily older, working-class neighborhood that is transitioning to a younger, middle-class, family neighborhood. People are drawn here for the houses, the Montessori Magnet grade school, and proximity to Downtown Durham and Duke University. The neighbors, people from all walks of life, are friendly and warm which adds richness, charm and character to this diverse area. A few of our neighbors are African-American, Asian or Hispanic. Some are from working-class families who have lived in the neighborhood for years. A few of our neighbors are older retirees who never want to move. Some of our neighbors have quite a bit of wealth and others are economically challenged. We have many couples, some with children, some without children, some older empty-nesters, some gay, some straight and some single folks just starting out on their own. There are renters and owners mixed in together. It's diverse! Currently there are five properties (including ours) that are renovated to look like new on our street and 3 that are not. This is typical of the entire neighborhood with homes in various stages of reconstruction and renovation (or not). It is safe and quiet and just keeps getting more and more beautiful as each home is revitalized. Despite historians considering this is North Carolina's first suburb, this is a city neighborhood, not a subdivision where every home is the same. Each home was built during a different era for an individual family based on their wealth at the time. Each home has taken on the personality of the families who lived in them year after year, and while there is a consistent look and feel to the neighborhood thanks to its historic designation, it is not Mayberry. We also don't have a homeowners' association making people do things to beautify their dwellings. We encourage you to use Street View where you can "tour" the neighborhood to see if the it meets your needs to experience a 5-star stay. The revitalization in this neighborhood is attracting many new businesses to the area. The Durham City CoOp opened just a few blocks away and new joints, Grub, Local Yogurt, Joe Van Gogh Coffee opened this summer. We have older businesses that are supported by life-long customers mixed in with new entrepreneurs. You will need to walk a few blocks out of our residential neighborhood to get to places to eat, drink and shop. Please see the "Getting Around" section under the Location tab at the top of the listing page and review the map on this listing page to get a sense of where we are in relation to your desired destination. Ask Alice about her "doily" theory if you want to know more. We love it here and we hope you will too!
  • Adorable home close to Downtown Durham. Front porch to relax, handsome dog to great you when arrive and warm people who are a joy. Kind of like the family you like to see! Very clean home. They are amazing cooks, so be warned!

  • This is an adorable house. Alice & Jeff are very welcoming and their dog George is the cutest! We had a lovely stay.

    Sile2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Alice and Jeff’s home is beautifully renovated, tastefully decorated, spacious, and organized! They are very thoughtful and friendly hosts.

    Neah2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Alice and Jeff was superb! They are pros! Their communication is very clear and their place is extremely thoughtfully organized and presented (down to slippers, chocolates and other nice touches!). Their location is walking distance or a very short drive to Duke’s East Campus and to downtown Durham. I expressed a concern for allergies I have to fragrances and they were very accommodating, putting towels and linens through a special wash. I was so appreciative. So appreciative (joking now) that I accidentally broke a coffee mug full of coffee in the bathroom...onto the white bath mat. I felt terrible but was graciously forgiven! I ask that others don’t try that aspect of Alice’s hospitality ...but definitely recommend the overall stay...unless I’m trying to book that date, as I would most certainly want to go back!

    Rita2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Nice location. Would definitely stay again. Durham is a neat little city.

    Alexandra2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Alice & Jeff have a charming place with amenities and lots of hospitality. And their dog, George, is a sweetheart! Definitely recommended.

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Alice & Jeff truly have thought of everything. Alice shared some great tips with me about downtown Durham that I really appreciated. A beautiful place to stay!

    Sarah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Alice and Jeff are super hosts, friendly and welcoming. The house is SO cute. If you are not into old houses, though, this may not be the place for you. The house is totally updated and the guest room is wonderful. There is a small non-working fireplace and a spotlessly clean en suite bath that is up to date and equipped with anything you might need or have forgotten. Alice and Jeff are SUPERHOSTS for sure.

Private, quiet; 1 BR w/ stndrd dble bed, pull-out sofa in LR; wifi, kitchenette with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and refrigerator. TV. Lush gardens with gazebo and a private deck for guests. Evergreens during the winter, flowers begin blooming early Spring.
  • I had pretty high expectations for this cottage from the pictures as it looked perfect for my early spring garden focused getaway. It somehow exceeded my expectations. The construction and attention to detail in this little cottage was really fun to ponder. The collection of authentic nautical is impressive, and things like attention to lighting options or creative stone walkways all made for a unique and special stay. Donna and Doc were friendly and helpful. Maybe not the best place if you’re not reasonably nimble (stairs, walkways) or need to be super plugged in, but perfect if you want a lovely and fun retreat. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing and unique getaway, and would return in any season.

    Cherrie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Donna is an absolute perfect host and was so kind. The cottage is like something out of a story book and very well maintained. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Renovated 1500sqft house ranch home located 1.5 miles from Duke Hospital/West campus and on the 11b busline (see GoDurham.com for detailed maps). 10 min to downtown Durham by car and close to shopping. Private bedroom and bathroom with shared common areas. This is an owner occupied house that I share with my dog and 2 cats. The dog is crated when I am away from home while the cats have free range of the house. It is pet friendly!
The guest room has a comfortable queen size bed as well as a large closet and dresser. Private detached bathroom in hallway with tub and shower. All linens and toiletries are provided as well as a hair dryer, iron, washer and dryer access. TV with Roku stick in private bedroom as well as the living room. No cable TV.
My neighboorhood is a very quiet, tree lined dead end street close to the major highways. Easy access to hwy 147 and I-85. 5 min drive to Duke University, less than 10 min drive to downtown Durham, and 15 min drive to RDU airport
  • The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, I had my own bathroom, I could enter the house when I wanted, I could use the kitchen and in general there was everything that I needed (even own iron, ironing board and possibility to wash my clothes). The house is close to a forest, which is a big advantage if you like to run in the morning. There are two cats, and they are very nice. I highly recommend this place.

  • This spot was great, easy to get to the house and into the room. The room and bathroom was really clean! It was great spot to stay for an interview at the Hospital the next day.

  • Wow! Beautiful, clean home, comfy bed/pillows, and a peaceful setting. My flight was extremely delayed and Megan made sure my process was easy and stress free! I like cats but am allergic, the home is so clean my allergies didn't act up at all! And the cats are very friendly

    Emily2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Megan is a very responsive communicator and makes sure everything is okay. The location is very close to Duke and Durham so it’s also very convenient. Very good overall!

    Tianjiu2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Megan provided clear instructions on how to arrive and where I would be staying. Placed in such a quiet area in such a large city was a very nice addition- not to mention the clean (and cute!) room that has everything one would need. Her cats are kind and welcoming and the home is very neat. I was relieved to know I could contact Megan and I recommend Megan’s place to anyone staying in the area.

    Kailen2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Place was once agin perfect for what I needed and no complaints at all!

    Kevin2020-02-21T00:00:00Z

  • This was a great experience. I was literally only there for 8 hours to sleep, but the room was spacious and clean. The bed was super comfortable! The space was stylishly decorated and had lots of thoughtful touches. Check in was so easy. Megan had super clear instructions about getting access to the space. I would definitely stay again!

  • We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Abraham & Reem, but their loft space is absolutely stunning! The pictures don't do it justice, especially those gorgeously high ceilings! Know that the bedroom walls don't reach all the way to the ceiling so noise can be a bit of an issue if you have a light sleeper in the group. On the upside, the beds are super comfortable, the loft a stylish sanctuary in the heart of downtown Durham.

Guests will have a private upstairs, including bedroom, full bathroom, and work space, just 10 minutes from downtown Durham. My neighborhood is very relaxed and there is a great backyard, including a grill and fire pit. It's just a short 20 minute drive to RTP, so it is a great location for those looking to explore downtown or work in RTP. The downstairs included a common living area, kitchen, and access to a washer/dryer. My dog is a husky, and he is super friendly and loves to meet people!
My neighborhood is very quiet and relaxed. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Durham, 10-15 minutes from Duke University, and about 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh. I am also less than 20 minutes from RTP so it is a great spot for folks looking to travel there!
  • We enjoyed our long stay at Anders' house in February. Anders is a 5+ superhost, in welcoming us to his house and throughout our stay, making us feel very comfortable. He is kind, always available to assist, pleasant to talk to. The upstairs area is spacious, clean, quite and private. The easy access to the kitchen is very convenient. The neighborhood is good. Our experience at Anders'house - the very best!

  • Anders(and his handsome dog - Jax)’ place was a great space. Conducive for rest and relaxation. I only stayed a night but I could see myself book for longer stays in his humble abode. It was close to downtown Durham where I spent time my food adventure with friends. Like his advertisement, he is easily reachable. Catching up with my Netflix show was available. Jax was an awesome welcoming committee. Thanks for sharing your space!

Conveniently located 1 mile to downtown, 10 minutes driving to Duke, and 15 minutes to RTP, this is a great base to explore Durham. This renovated 1933 home in a diverse neighborhood is bright and cozy.
Built in the 1930s, this 1,100 sq ft house has historic charm: refinished original hardwood floors, high exposed pine ceilings, and decorative fireplaces. You are free to use all the condiments and such in the fridge door, the spices, honey, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, laundry detergent, etc. NOTE: Please read my location/neighborhood description before booking. Two bedrooms have queen beds, desks, and dressers; if needed, the third bedroom is ideal for kids with a bunk-bed with a twin on the top and a futon sofa on the bottom that folds out in to a full bed. Normally this room is a TV room, with the futon set up as a sofa. There is a smart TV but there is no Cable and no TV channels, you can watch Netflix or YouTube on it with my accounts, or you can log in to your own Amazon Prime or Hulu account - don't forget to log out again when you leave. KIDS STUFF: There is a Netflix Kids channel. There is also a travel pack and play, a baby swing, a toddler potty, kids books, board games, and a few baby toys. Large windows offer lots of light throughout the house! There is central heat/air, and the home is newly remodeled in 2015. There is one bathroom and no tub, only a shower. There is a front-loading washer/dryer in the kitchen, a good-sized backyard, and plenty of space to park three cars end-to-end in the driveway, as well as free street parking. The large front porch is good for relaxing in the evenings. The home is only one mile from the where downtown begins on the eastern side (Ponysaurus, etc.) and 1.5 miles to the more western parts of downtown, such as Beyu Caffe/Five Points. It is 3 miles from Duke East Campus and 3.5-5 miles from West campus, depending on if you're driving or walking.
PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! There is a school just around the corner and you might be able to enjoy a children's baseball game on the nearby pitch, or even catch a glimpse from the backyard if you stand in the right place. As one guest points out in their review, please don't let your dogs into the baseball pitch -- it's enticing because it's fenced in, but dogs are not allowed in there and you may be chastised by the baseball director. The neighborhood is economically and racially diverse. The neighborhood is visibly in the process of being gentrified and you will see a mixed crowd around you. The fact that the house is NOT in a neighborhood where everyone is wealthy and all the houses are renovated is part of what makes the space more affordable compared to other houses you might see on airbnb. I have never had issues with safety or security and enjoy the atmosphere and community of my neighborhood, which mirrors the racial and class makeup of majority of the city of Durham. I sometimes get reviews saying the neighborhood is "sketchy," though no guests have ever had anything threatening happen to them here. Some guests find the simple presence of poor people and people of color scary -- even when these neighbors are friendly towards them or just ignore them. I am adding this new description here to see if I can help people make the best decision for their level of comfort: if you are not comfortable with poor people walking down the sidewalk or with the idea of living among black and brown people, please don't book my house. If you are white, you will be in the minority (the houses on your side of the block, for example, are two Black, two Hispanic, and one White families). This will be the case in many neighborhoods in Durham, which is majority minority and also has pretty high poverty levels, despite the fact that Duke University is here. I know some people live in areas of the country where there is not much racial or economic diversity and are simply not used to seeing the diversity of a city, or the foot traffic of a city. So additionally, in this neighborhood there are plenty of people going about their daily lives without cars, by walking past the house on their way to the store, work, bus, or school. Unlike a suburb, this house is in a city with foot traffic. Everyone is very nice! Sit on the porch and say hi to those who go by! I'm sorry this section is so long, but after three years of being a superhost in the Albreit neighborhood, it is terribly sad to me to see how much fear people don't realize they have of POC or those with less financial means until they get here. My neighbors don't deserve to have guests stay in my house who are scared of them or who treat them with suspicion. Durham is a city and it has a fairly high amount of crime compared to some other cities. People get mugged, houses get robbed, cars get broken into. These things have never happened to anyone while staying at this house but know that you are coming to stay in a city with both crime and poverty. Lock your cars, be smart, and don't be scared! It's going to be fine. Meet some new people who aren't just like you, and enjoy yourself in Durham!
  • My friends and I loved the house. It had everything we needed. And bedrooms for each of us for privacy. The location was near everything we had planned for the weekend and staying in to play games and relax was the perfect space. Joyce is a great host and responds quickly! We loved the little touches of flowers and homemade cookies!

Renovated mid-century brick ranch in Old East Durham—a neighborhood undergoing rapid transition. Only a 10 minute drive ($5 - 7 Uber/Lyft) to Downtown Durham, DPAC, Duke Campus and Duke Hospital. My home is perfect for students, business and healthcare professionals, Duke patients & explorers alike! Very convenient to NCCU, RTP & RDU Airport. My place is well suited for short or extended stays with a private (full) bathroom, access to the kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, TV and a desk.
I fell in love with the layout, the tons of sun light and coziness of this 1955 brick ranch. It took 6 months to completely renovate this ‘diamond in the rough’. The kitchen and bathrooms required major overhauls but I tried to keep as much of the mid-century charm as possible: like the bathtub, phone nook in the main hallway and the original hardwood floors and fireplace.
Old East Durham is a cool residential neighbourhood in the midst of transition with a variety of architectural styles of homes ranging from the early 1900s to mid century. Recently, this formerly over looked part of Durham has attracted new home owners, Habitat for Humanity and investors alike. Old East Durham is a mixed income neighbourhood and the residents run the full gamut: young couples and families, retirees, renters, long time residents and newcomers (like me!). My street is a quiet one whose landscape is changing almost daily as several home renovation projects are currently in progress.
  • Nice and clean place with great amenities. Gail is a great host. She gave us very clear instructions and responded quickly to any questions we had.

  • Gail's home is beautiful and relaxing. This was the first time I "shared" a room and if her home is any indication of what I will experience... Then I will do it again. She was kind and had so many amenities. If you are considering her home.. Then book, book, book it immediately.

    Denise2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had a pleasant experience at Gail’s Place. The home was very cozy and nice. Gail’s home is clean and the room and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was located very close to the bedroom. Great, quiet and friendly neighborhood! Very residential with only occasional vehicle traffic. To the house's left is a Methodist church with tree-cover, which makes the backyard feel very private. There are many young couples and dogs in this neighborhood, and lots of foot-traffic around the block as people take evening walks. The neighbors are friendly and kind. The house is also a walk-able distance from the Northgate dog park and the Ellerbee Creek Trail. Both are very scenic routes for evening walks with the dogs or refreshing jogs on your own.
  • The space was beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. The host was kind and communicative, with quick responses. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautifully remodeled home and super clean. Everything you need to have a wonderful experience in Durham including location. Not a problem for most but for me not having a t.v. for after a long day to snuggle up on the couch and relax to a movie was a little harder than I thought it would be. Big backyard for the dog and a fire pit were very nice to have. Overall great experience, would definitely stay again.

Kick up your feet in our adorable, newly constructed, and very comfortable guesthouse close to downtown Durham and Northgate Park. Walking distance to green ways, grocery stores, restaurants and the Museum of Life and Science – and a short, easy drive to everything in and around downtown Durham. This well-appointed spot has everything you need for a quick weekend away or a month-long stay. We welcome healthcare workers responding to the COVID-19 crisis. Contact us for discounted rate.
Our guesthouse has a spacious deck, vaulted ceilings and gets great natural light. The lovely, open studio space includes a comfy queen-sized bed, a dining table and lounge chairs for kicking back to stream whatever you’re currently bingeing through the Roku. There is also a full kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc.), a full bath and roomy closet. Parking is available in our driveway close to the guesthouse (there is plenty of street parking as well). Guests may also have access to our laundry room, if needed. The guesthouse was constructed as part of a big home renovation that we completed in December 2019, so it’s brand new! We have a dog that guests may see when she's in the yard. She's very playful and extremely adorable.
The Colonial Village/Northgate/Braggtown area of Durham has a very neighborhood-y feel and guests can expect to see plenty of people walking their dogs and kids playing in yards. • Highly reccomend this Air Bnb! Clean, cute, homey, and most definitely affordable! We had a great time staying there for our getaway, and if we ever come back to the area, this will be the first place we look! Towels were great, bed was sooo comfy, and the amenities were everything we could have wished for!

    Ritter2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect space. I stayed here as a lone visitor on a business trip, and it was ideal: lots of natural illumination and the perfect table and chairs for my daytime work, a comfortable bed, a wonderfully clean kitchen that I could use for meal prep, and a rain shower that soothed away all of the cares of the day. The space's privacy, cleanliness, and loveliness were exactly right for me. I got good work done here, ate and slept well, and was sorry to leave!

My roommate and I are posting our spare bedroom. It's a comfortable house less than a quarter mile from West campus, restaurants, a coffee shop, and buses to the rest of Durham and the Triangle.
The space is the spare bedroom. It is a big, comfortable room with plenty of closet space, drawers, and a desk to work at. It has great lighting with two windows and a full-sized bed. A shared bathroom with a shower is just outside the room.
Great location less than a quarter mile away from Duke campus, several restaurants, a coffee shop, and a bus line leading to downtown or East Campus.
  • Had a great stay with no issues or complaints, great communication and place was perfect again for what I needed

  • Adim hosts this house with his roommates Katie and Bert. They’re all grad students and very nice. Adim gave me a key when I showed up and answered all my questions promptly before I showed up. I had an interview on Duke’s campus so it was nice to be able to walk to campus.

  • Place was just perfect for what I needed, got the rest I needed and was in a perfect location

    Kevin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adim, Katie, and Bert were such kind hosts! They were very respectful of privacy, yet completely welcoming and inviting at the same time. I came home to them painting in the living room one evening (with calming music and gentle conducts) . It was such a joy and truly a breath of fresh air after a long day exploring Durham. The room was very nice (much brighter and more homey than the pictures show) and the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you Adim, Katie, and Bert!!

    Bijan2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Place was near and clean in a great location, host had easy clear instructions and great communication.Just perfect for what I needed!

    Kevin2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • I found Adim's place as a new international hire for Duke Health. It was very convenient for me to stay at Adim's while I found an apartment to move to in the area. During the week I stayed, I really felt at home. Adim was kind enough to invite me to a meet up, where we got acquainted. This was invaluable for me, since I'm new to the area. I was able to arrive early morning (around 5am) due to an early flight arrival and check out before work (6am). I'm very grateful I stayed at Adim's place and got to meet him and Katie, and I would recommend anyone starting at Duke to consider staying at his place.

    David2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Adim's place was great! Although he wasn't home when I stayed there, he kept in contact with me throughout the whole check-in process to make sure I got inside ok. The check-in process was easy, and the location was great (less than 10 min drive to downtown area). Would definitely recommend!

**Back and better than ever! After closing for a year for renovations and 2 major surgeries I’m happy to say I’m back. Many apologies to anyone I had to cancel or decline for either of those reasons** You’ve seen them on TV... here's your chance to spend the night in a true tiny house! Enjoy a cushy queen bed, full bathroom with tub, and cook a light meal in the pint-size kitchenette. Pets are welcome in this small space, and the home opens onto a fully fenced yard so they can run and play.
It may be diminutive, but the tiny cabin comes equipped with everything we hope you'll need during your stay, be it one day or a whole week. You'll enjoy restful sleep in a real, queen-size bed. There is a bistro table where you can fire up your laptop, read a book, or sip a cup of coffee. No stall shower here - the bathroom has a full-size tub. The kitchenette is equipped with an electric cooktop, mini-fridge, sink, toaster, coffee maker, along with dishware and utensils. Stay comfortable with a dedicated heat and AC unit that can be set to your liking. There is plenty of space to play outside, too! The tiny house is set at the back of a quiet residential lot and opens onto a fully fenced yard. There is a small, covered front porch for sitting when the temperature is nice, and there is even a backyard basketball court!
Located roughly 10 minutes from downtown Durham, Duke’s Campus, and Duke Hospital you’ll love exploring this standout southern city. Sample our award-winning restaurants and breweries, take in a Durham Bulls baseball game, or stroll the floral-strewn paths of Duke Gardens. The tiny house is located north of the city in a quiet residential neighborhood, just 10 minutes from Duke/downtown and 25 minutes from RDU Airport/Chapel Hill. We are located at the end of a short cul-de-sac with plenty of parking and zero traffic. There are two Starbucks stores less than a five-minute drive away, along with gas/grocery/etc.
  • Patrick's place was perfect for our 1 night stay! He was also very kind and easy to work with which was great.

    Jessica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z

    Sasha2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick’s place was perfect. His tiny house was modern, quaint and in a great neighborhood. We really enjoyed the pet friendly touches to his home and my pup loved the huge yard. We didn’t get to meet Patrick himself but his roommate was always welcoming and available if needed. Patrick was quick to respond and we would definitely go back!

  • A great tiny house similar to an apartment. We were cozy with a toddler, a dog and two parents but it had everything we needed. It's so nice to bring the pup along for vacation, and this house is the perfect place to stay for it!

    Christine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick was a great host and communicated with us very quickly when needed. The tiny house was great, perfect for a couples getaway.

    Antonella2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Patrick’s tiny home. It’s perfect for one or two people and it’s a short commute to downtown Durham.

    Devan2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome stay at Patrick’s place. Our dogs got to play and run around the backyard which they really enjoyed! We recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a place to stay in Durham especially for those who’s traveling with their furry buddies!

Great pool & courtyard, convenient parking, 2 TVs w/ cable & HBO, King Bed w/ Tempur-Pedic mattress, (+ sleeper sofa in living room) & kitchen. Minutes from: Downtown fun & restaurants, Duke University, & Duke Medical center. Duke Tower has a strict 2 person per condo policy.(And yes, they do count children of any age.)
  • This was a great spot. Centrally located; not much was far away. Swimming pool was close by, but it was too cold to swim. I would stay here again.

  • A converted motel turned into condos, small, cozy, pool available. Spent mostly just the time sleeping each night and it certainly served that purpose quite well for the price.

A quiet room in our garden house close to Duke and downtown. Have coffee on the patio, listen to falling water from the rock pool, watch birds come to the feeder. Free loaner bikes available, airport pickups-$25, Duke or downtown rides - $5.
Located on the edge of historic Forest Hills neighborhood on a quiet, leafy, residential street, our sweet cottage is covered in vines, with many gardens, water features, grape arbor, fruit trees, and multiple patios for sitting out and watching the many birds at the feeders. Your private room is connected to the internet. The airbnb bathroom has a full shower, with soap and shampoo for guests, and is sometimes shared if there is another airbnb guest. Guests are also able to use the hosts' bathroom if there is any need. Free, unrestricted and plentiful parking is on the street in front of the house. We are a mile to two miles from downtown Durham, Duke University, Duke hospital, Duke Gardens, American Tobacco, the Brightleaf District, Durham Performing Arts Center, the Durham Ballpark, and most of Durham's best restaurants. We are just a few blocks from the American Tobacco Trail, and have free loaner bikes, with helmets and locks, for our visitors. We will pick up guests for free from Amtrak or the bus station. We offer $25 pick up or drop off from RDU airport. We also will be willing to give lifts around the downtown/Duke area for $5 if we aren't busy. We have an two friendly, mid-sized dogs who quietly welcome all guests. The airbnb room, however, is off limits to the pets in consideration of fur-sensitive guests. We serve coffee and homemade muffins on your first morning. Have it on the patio in the garden! We love visitors and can help steer you to the best of Durham, including cheap eats and gourmet treats, hiking/biking trails, museums, events, and the nightlife scene. When we have airbnb guests staying in our outside cottage room, you would share the guest bathroom that is across from your room. If needed, guests can also use the other bathroom/shower in the house. When we've had double bookings we've had great luck with everyone--instant parties have formed with a bottle of wine around the dining table or out on the patio. We seem to be under some fortunate moon that brings very compatible people here -- charming, interesting, and with advanced social skills. If you're interested in our outside, more private room, look for our other listing titled "Creamsicle Cottage Near Duke & Downtown". (click on our profile and then look on the left for our other listings). That room is much larger and more private with fridge and microwave for the same price, but you have to come into the main house for the bathroom/shower. We really enjoy hosting and being a guest through airbnb, We've met some wonderful and interesting people from all over the world, some of whom have become friends and returning guests.
Just a mile or so from Duke or downtown, we live in a quiet, tree-shaded neighborhood of cottages and bungalows that are being lovingly tended with gardens and plantings. Our neighbors are an eclectic mix of teachers, artists, retirees, young couples and Duke professors. We meet each other frequently on the street as we walk dogs, jog, push baby carriers, tend gardens or just stroll the streets of an evening, so there is a strong sense of community and fellowship.
  • Mesa & Stuarts place is super adorable, comfortable, cozy and SOO conveniently located in the midst of all the great things that Durham has to offer. They were both so sweet and nice and helpful. And, the dogs were beautiful and VERY well behaved!!! The smell of freshly baked bread throughout the house added to the comfort and coziness all around!!! The bed and pillows were very comfortable and if you are staying for longer than the night (which sadly, is all we were in town for) there is ample space for your belongings. Mesa also has some great suggestions for things to do in and around the City in the guidebook as well as just simply talking with her and with Stuart. Check out there guest book where the previous visitors have commented and take up some of their suggested things to do and where to go and what to eat and where to have a cocktail as well. We loved our short, yet wonderful stay and will more than likely go back next time we are in town!!!

    Joee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot conveniently located close to Duke as well as to great places to eat. Mesa and Stuart were very welcoming and are Durham experts! Just eat wherever they recommend and you’ll be happy that you did.

    Kenneth2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Mesa and Stuart are truly gems. It was such a pleasure to speak with them and they have two adorable, well-behaved dogs who were so gentle and loving. I had a great time here and was blown away by their hospitality! Fresh blueberry muffins and tea in the morning? Pinch me, I must be still dreaming. This was a wonderful spot and only a 20 minute walk into downtown Durham in the sunshine. Highly recommend!

  • My son and I enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth's bungalow during his tour of NCSSM. We parked our car the first night and walked everywhere we needed to go, including the school, restaurants, and shops. It is a very safe location. The home was spotlessly clean and included touches such as coffee, breakfast items, and an impressive movie library. I will definitely book again if I'm in the area. Thank you, Elizabeth!

  • Kayla is kind, and very helpful. The place is beautiful, and comfortable. My bed #3, was just right for me. I slept like a baby. Also the extra security and females only made me feel protected.

    Nanci2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly as advertised, maybe better! Kayla was very responsive and gave clear directions. The house is about 10 minutes from the airport. The keyless entry worked great, especially since I arrived pretty late at night. The room had an attached bathroom and big closet. The bed was cozy, and the whole place was very clean. I didn't see or hear anyone while I was there or have any issues at all. Perfect stay!

    Samiah2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kayla is amazing both as a person and as a host. Staying at her house I felt like I was in a 5-star hotel. Her place is that good! From the decor to the quality of the sleep. I slept better at Kayla's than I do in my own place! Lol (I'm laughing but I'm also serious.) The house is very clean and welcoming, and it is in a very nice, safe, and quiet neighborhood, too. There's plenty of parking and it's free. The internet is secure and fast. That's another plus. Kayla's house is definitely my go-to for my next sleepovers in Morrisville/Raleigh, and I highly recommend her and her house. You won't regret booking with Kayla and staying at her place.

Guest suite 15 minutes from RDU airport, 8 minutes from Brier Creek and 15 minutes from Duke hospital. Semi-private entrance on entirely separate floor (see photos). Tastefully furnished and styled with a local flair with handmade queen-sized bed, work desk, end tables and 40 inch television. Kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Full bathroom with all the touches.
Guest suite with a small kitchenette on the first floor of a large townhome with all the essentials and then some . Approximately 300 square feet which is on the smaller size. Semi-private entrance on a separate floor with self check in. Please note, A sweet pit bull who is still working on his manners (he will lick you to death if given the opportunity) does live on the property. He will be gated upstairs at all time, but you will be using the same entrance door he does for his walks . Additionally, the suite does not include access to the upstairs living areas, upstairs kitchen and laundry room. For guests who stay longer than 1 week we can discuss laundry services. The goal is to create a nearly private guest suite with a hotel like experience at a fraction the price. But this is not a hotel nor a totally private experience.
Family friendly and quiet neighborhood situated ideally between Duke and RDU. The neighborhood is wonderful for exercising and evening walks, but restaurants and entertainment requirement a quick car ride or Uber ride.
  • Great location, close to everything and everywhere you want to go. Parking was super easy and in a great quiet neighborhood. The space is private and has everything you need. The bed was super comfortable! The hosts were great and we would highly recommend staying here!

  • This is by far one of the best places I’ve stayed lately...and I use Airbnb on the weekly basis due to my line of work. Patti went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful time, even sharing some of her home grown tomatoes! I will surly be back to this great home soon and genuinely look forward to the stay.

  • Terrific place to stay in Durham. Quiet, convenient and a nice neighborhood to run in!

  • What a comfy cottage! This is within 10 minutes of Duke and downtown, but it's in a quiet neighborhood full of trees and pretty homes. Patti is responsive, helpful, and sweet, and she made my stay in Durham such a nice one.
