Beautiful mountain home on 40 secluded acres in the rolling hills. Located between the Royal Gorge and Salida, adventure is in every direction. There are trails on the property and the Arkansas River is two miles by car. Gold Medal trout fishing and white water rafting make the Arkansas River a perfect destination. Winter: 38 miles to Monarch Mountain for downhill skiing, snowmobiling, or dog sled rides. We have multiple sizes of snowshoes. Ask for fun hikes- on the property or around Salida!
The house has two bedrooms and two baths, with a sofa sleeper in the living room. King tempurpedic mattress downstairs and queen tempurpedic upstairs. Main floor has open layout with kitchen, dining and living room all open. Bedroom and bathroom are separate. Upstairs bedroom has open stairway (think loft but not as open) and private bath. Screened-in porch upstairs and large patio downstairs. Hot tub is outside with mountain views. Full kitchen with dishes and dishwasher. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Gas BBQ grill on back patio and horizontal smoker available for the more ambitious.
Centrally located between the Royal Gorge and the vibrant town of Salida. Hiking, rafting, fishing and relaxing are our main attractions.
  • Rick is an outstanding host that was incredibly available, hospitable, and an excellent guide to the surrounding towns. The space is absolutely gorgeous, and an outstanding value if you want a relaxing retreat in the mountains. It's close enough to towns to make for fun day trips but secluded enough to make for a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the world. You really can't beat this place and this host for this value!

  • Rick & Tracy's place is amazing. I and my wife enjoyed so much. Google can find the place without any problems. Rick and Tracy are also nice and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay so much. Next time when we visit Buena Vista or Great Sand Dune National Park, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you guys so much!

  • Words and pictures do not do this place justice! It’s absolutely gorgeous. Every window has breathtaking views of the mountains and stars. We loved how homey and secluded it was, but still close enough to get to town to enjoy lots of fun things. And no day went by without a soak in the hot tub. Rick was a wonderful host and provided snow shoes and sleds for our use. We hope to return soon!

    Carrie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic!!

    Anna2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The most amazing airbnb experience I've had

    Kyle2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best Air Bnb that I have stayed at. Rick was an excellent host and the property was outstanding.

    Trevor2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great at place to get away from it all. My family of 4 enjoyed 6 nights in this home and it was awesome. There is plenty of private land for on-site hiking and the best view. Locates close to Arkansas River for rafting and fishing and close to Monarch Mountain for skiing. We'll be back in late summer for some fun in the sun!

    Dominick2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed at; top to bottom. It’s a beautiful home with breathtaking views, and ample trails to explore and hike around the property. Then you can relax in the hot tub. You’re tucked away from everyone and can really get away from it all here. The best part was the amazing hospitality from Rick and Tracy. They are very kind people. They greeted us with the most delicious banana bread, and were so helpful from when we booked through when we left for anything we needed. Can’t recommend highly enough.

My place is about 15 to 20 minutes to restaurants and family-friendly activities. We are about 30 minutes to Mount Princeton Hot Springs and 30 minutes to Monarch Ski Resort. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). We also now have a propane grill for you to use.
Our property backs up to National Forest with miles and miles of trails. We have a pond on our property stocked with trout. You may fish in there but only catch and release and no bait. It is $20 pp. We have a canoe and a paddle boat you can use also. We have one bedroom that is private with a queen bed and the loft is about 5 feet high with two twin beds. The loft overlooks the living room downstairs.
We own 100 acres and our land backs up to National Forest with amazing views and trails for hiking.
  • This cabin is an absolute hidden gem. My husband and I, and our dog, just spent Christmas week in this beautiful little cabin in the slightly remote snowy mountains of Salida. Jodi and Clint thought of everything to make our stay incredibly comfortable and cozy. They even had Christmas decorations which were very much appreciated. Monarch mountain is only a short 30 mins away and offered so many fun activities, we happened to snow tube and snowmobile. Downtown Salida is only 15-20 mins away with many cute shops and restaurants. Is it important to note that you may get ZERO cell service and there is no WiFi. We didn’t mind this for a few days, it was actually kinda nice. Lastly, the cabin is small and we packed very large suitcases (packed with winter gear) which made storing them a little tricky but we managed just fine- just something to keep in mind!

    Emma2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi's place is great! It is so cozy in the winter, and it has all the kitchen basics you need! We loved our time there - the check in process was super easy, and we loved being able to bring our pup!

    Jonathan2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi’s little cabin was the coziest little cabin in the most gorgeous location! We wanted somewhere to get away from it all & this was the place! Feel so lucky to have experienced it although it was only for one short night. The Christmas decor made us feel so at home, the lights just added the sweetest touch & the views are just unreal. We spent the day in Salida, cooked dinner at the cabin and then headed out early morning to the Great Sand Dunes NP which was only a little over an hour away. Was perfect in every way & we cannot wait to come back!

    Jessica2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely going back! Jodi is such an amazing host! We arrived on Thanksgiving afternoon and stayed a full week. Everything in the cabin was clean and well thought through. Jodi is always available if you need anything. Her husband Clint is also a great host! He is always available to plow the driveway when it snows. Such great people and such a nice cabin!

    Laura2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi’s cozy cabin was the perfect place to steal away to for a couple of days and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains. We did some local hikes and went into town for lunch, but our kids would have been happy to never leave and just play in the snow around the cabin the whole time, it’s such a gorgeous spot. We were very comfortable and relaxed (and warm, even on very cold nights!) Great communication from Jodi, especially helping us find the spot in the dark. A wonderful Air BnB experience.

    Laura2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin has everything you need to be a home away from home for the weekend. Comfortable bed, fluffy towels, complete kitchen for cooking meals. The sweeping views of the valley are stunning. My pup and I had a wonderful time!

    Catherine2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed only a short time and left early in the morning but the owners communicated well and made sure to come over and chat with us, which was really nice. You can tell they really care about their guests having a nice time. The property is beautiful and special and the cabin was comfy and warm.

    Erica2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Jodi’s cabin for an anniversary trip. Due to inclement weather and poor road conditions we were unable to make it to the cabin. Jodi was so kind and helpful in making sure we were able to cancel our reservation and were refunded. She was so helpful to us as we looked at the roads and weather conditions as well. She truly went above and beyond and we will book with here again for sure!

Stay in a 2015 Airstream International whom we affectionately call, Judy. She is located in Sugarbush Campground in a premium spot. Surrounded by ponderous pines, spruce and fir trees, sitting aside a babbling brook running through the property this is the perfect base for your Arkansas River Valley adventures! We have lived in Judy for two years before purchasing Sugarbush Campground in Spring of 2017. Very cozy and surprisingly spacious for a 25' trailer with impeccable design.
A small living area/dining table in the front folds down into a deep couch or a twin sized bed. There are 2 T'V's, one in the living area and one in the rear bedroom. Judy has a Clarion surround sound bluetooth/USB port/DVD-BluRay, speakers in the front and back. We are leaving our library of DVD/BluRays for your enjoyment. We have provided kitchen utensils and cookware you may need during your stay. There is a refrigerator and freezer, three burner propane stove with oven and vent fan. A coffee maker and filters are stocked. Shower, toliet and bathroom sink are in Judy. You will find hotel quality bedding and towels along with shampoo, conditioner and shower wash. We have Elemente, a local handmade Salida line, hand soap and lotion products. There is a "queen" sized bed, the corners of the mattress are rounded so this isn't a true queen. Plenty of storage for your belongings. The climate control system; air conditioning, furnace and heat pump. We live at Sugarbush Campground so we are available at any time if questions come up. We will do a walk through to introduce you to Judy and make sure you are comfortable. We provide a fire pit, picnic table, and two outdoor chairs with a small table. We offer RV & tent sites at Sugarbush if you would like to reserve a spot for a larger group. Sugarbush Campground is located 13 miles east of Salida and minutes from away from numerous outdoor activities.
Judy is situated in our campground, Sugarbush Campground. www.sugarbushco.com
  • We had a great experience staying in the Airstream without the hassle of towing and setup etc. that comes with owning your own rv. It is comfortable and modern and very clean in a nice setting. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Susan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future.

    David2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The camper is in the back of the campground, away from other campers, which is a nice touch. It was a quiet location surrounded by trees. The site has a picnic table, fire pit and a small table in between 2 chairs. The camper is clean and has everything you need including heat and A/C. It is a great place to get away and decompress.

    Susan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to glamp, will not disappoint

    Frank2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I enjoyed our time at Judy. There was plenty of space for both of us, The little boutique campground was fantastic and it was wonderful being able to cook and eat in Judy. Great launching pad for hiking and other Salida activities.

    Michael2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay. The location and the airstream are a perfect base camp for exploring the San Isabel forest. We had absolutely everything we needed! We will definitely stay here again.

    Rachael2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a great experience in the airstream. Totally want to do it again! Love “glamping.”

    Heide2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very much enjoyed our stay in Judy. Lily was easily accessible when we had questions. We've never stayed in an Airstream and loved the experience. There is more storage than you'd think and we very much enjoyed exploring all the nuances the space had to offer, of which the bluetooth stereo system in front and back is a big plus. Watching and listening to the adjacent burbling stream was great. Warming up to the provided fire pit (yes even in the summer!) helped round out the day. Whether you're knowledgable about Airstreams or not, you'll come away satisfied with your stay.

  • Lovely space under the stars

    Dallis2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a convenient place to stay to enjoy the outdoors and don't like camping in a tent, this is the place for you! The camper is stocked with all the amenities you need! They have a nice patio and a fire pit to enjoy sitting outside. The hummingbirds were so fun to watch! I was a little concerned about privacy because the camper sits right next to the owners house but once you pulled around the camper, it felt as if you had the mountains to yourself! Lisa is a great host!

    Rita2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome! We had a great stay at Lisa's RV, it was very clean and had everything we needed. Lisa was a great communicator and a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again when heading to the mountains.

    Karen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The RV is located near the highway, but honestly we didn't hear any traffic and we slept with the windows open. It was spotless, comfy, and parked so you felt like no one was around. We would stay there again for sure.

    Brenda2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Lisa’s trailer! It was much roomier than we expected, it was very comfy, clean and the thoughtful touches were appreciated. We loved walking around their pond. Also, Lisa’s local tips were outstanding!

    Lori2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just book it.

    John2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, both the rv and its location. Lovely place to wake up and see the mountains. Lots of accommodations and just an overall relaxing place to be. Highly recommend if you are passing through this area.

    Dani2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are considering this camper, stop thinking and just book it now! Holy cow, this place was way cooler than we expected. The place is totally decked out with amenities and is super comfortable. At night, we got to build a campfire right next to the camper and sit in lounge chairs while we told jokes and gazed at the billions of beautiful stars only available in places like this. One tip to people who have never stayed in a camper before: Take your showers really fast. My wife and son got to learn that one. I guess I should have warned them, LOL. We can't wait to come back as there is so much more we want to do and experience and we just plain loved this place, that much.

Robins Roost is Modern real Log Cabin living, quiet, cozy and quaint. A 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with beds for 6 people and plenty of space for a few more if sofa's or sleeping bags on the floor suits you. Close to the Royal Gorge (35 mins), fishing and white water rafting on the Arkansas River ( 15 mins), skiing at Monarch (1+ hr), and public lands for exploring, hiking, and hunting you can enjoy Colorado outdoor living and adventure at it's finest. Wifi provided but cell service is limited.
Robins Roost offers amazing views from the front porch, you can sip coffee sitting on the Balcony outside the private Loft bedroom or make s'mores sitting around the outdoor fireplace. There is also a full size pool table in the basement for you to enjoy. All bedding, towels and basic toiletries are provided. You'll find all the cookware (pots and pans) and table service you'll need for your stay. Need to do some laundry? A washer and dryer is also available for your use. Firewood for the wood stove inside is provided, if you want to enjoy the fire-pit outdoors please consider bringing your own wood. Recently purchased, Robins Roost isn't new to Airbnb but was listed by another name be the previous owners. That's why you won't see a lot of reviews but I'm confident you'll find the cabin accommodating, clean and well kept. I recently remodeled the kitchen, installed a new propane "wood-look-a-like" stove for ambiance and safety and new sliding patio door.
Cotopaxi has a general store where you'll find fuel, basic supplies, groceries and a cafe for a great breakfast or lunch. Otherwise major shopping is about 45 minutes away in Canon City or Salida.

Kitchen and essentials for cooking, small fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker. Grill and picnic table. I can leave the key for you so you can check in anytime. Howard- not really any services here. Salida is 20 min. There is a farm across the river to view animals. She sells fresh eggs too!
  • Definitely recommend! Super friendly helpful staff who treat you like you’re a friend not a client. The A frame was spacious, clean and everything we needed plus has mountain view’s from the front porch and it’s right on the river. Plenty of privacy but everyone there is friendly if you feel like socializing. There are plenty of activities nearby and there is a personalized guide book. Be sure to say hi to chicken Alfredo! (Rocky Top’s resident chicken) Thanks Rhitt! You’re a pumpkin!

    Adrienne2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is right on the river with beautiful mountain views and lots to do. Our host Rhitt went above and beyond and made us feel very welcome. Located on our 20 acre goat farm, with fantastic views from every corner, among Juniper and Pinon Pine trees, you will find our modern yet rustic canvas tipis with either a Bighorn Sheep or a Mountain Goat painted on it! This marvel of native American engineering is just what you need to feel like you are camping, without all the work. Even when it rains - you stay dry!
  • The teepee was wonderful. The electric blankets kept us warm. Be sure to bring your own bedding. Goats, ducks, and chickens on the farm.

  • Had an amazing time staying in this Tipi!! We were looking for something simple, easy and a beautiful location and got it all! It was definitely cold as it’s the beginning of October but the host was very nice and even provided a heated blanket! Would definitely stay here again. The lodge is also amazing and we would love to try it out. Breakfast basket is a must and everything was absolutely delicious!

  • Mountain Goat Lodge is a one of a kind experience and I couldn't recommend it more! My husband and I stayed in the tipi which was one of many unique accommodations on the property. We loved it but we are also used to camping in a tent - it's probably not for everyone. Gina was a great communicator with quick replies. Her and Darcy were the perfect hosts and their coffee & breakfast was amazing! Not to mention all the animals around the property - so cute! We hope to stay longer next time.

We are located on a 1500 ft. stretch of the Arkansas River, 3 miles from downtown Salida. Our rural setting is beautiful in every season, offering amazing views of the mountains and river. Your guest suite is located in a private section of our home with its own exterior entrance, bathroom, and kitchenette. The main room is spacious, quiet, and filled with natural light. Whether you are here to fly fish, ski/snowboard, explore downtown Salida or to simply relax, you won't be disappointed!
Our guest space is very peaceful and the king bed is quite comfy, so expect a great night's sleep! The bathroom is for your use only, and features a stone and tile walk-in shower. Your suite is separated from the private portion of our home by a locked door in the adjoining hallway.
The Arkansas River makes our neighborhood unique! There are only a few homes down here along the river, so it's fairly quiet. Sometimes it seems like we are living in a wildlife area - expect to see deer and a wide variety of birds and water fowl on our property. The surrounding views of the mountains and river are spectacular! There are plenty of places to walk, explore, play and fish on our property or along the country road.

  • Our visit was wonderful. The bathroom is newly done and they provide extras for you if you need it- first aid kit, cotton balls, hair dryer, shampoo, etc. There was an extra pad for the sofa bed which made it super comfy for the kids. Lisa had great communication with us before, during, and after our trip. They are very friendly hosts. They helped us get the grill ready to grill burgers for dinner. They provided some snacks, coffee, and tea which was an extra bonus. Overall we enjoyed our stay and getting to know Lisa and Dave. I highly recommend this place if it fits your needs and the size of your family.

  • 100% recommended. Our stay was even better than expected. The subtle touches make all the difference. Very clean. Great location. Awesome recommendations. Fire pit and hot-tub were a addition to our evening which also included take out pizza and a movie in the airstream. Can’t beat it!

  • Really awesome Airstreams. Very clean & super cute. The community bathroom made me nervous. But you only share the private two large bathroom with the people renting out the other airstreams. Overall wonderful, zero complaints. The hot tub was really nice to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. Highly recommend.

    Meredith2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The amigo motor lodge is such a cute place! I had to check in late and they were so accommodating. It was easy to pull up and get settled. The airstream was clean and super stylish. In the guide they said they have “surprisingly good coffee” and they are right! In the morning the staff was friendly and kept the coffee flowing on the lobby! Traveling alone I was nervous but I felt very safe there. I would definitely stay again.

  • The perfect getaway to gaze on the mountains and take in the scenery. Paul’s place has so many details to walk around and take in, including several antiques and beautiful artwork. If you go for a walk, there are beautiful horses down the street. We also saw a buck at sunset. Paul is a fantastic host who’s happy to help with anything and his place is truly a gem.

  • If you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway in the mountains, this is the Airbnb for you. Paul’s home is filled with incredible art and sentimental touches that will blow your mind. We especially enjoyed his stained glass, vinyl collection and the view of the mountain range from the bedroom window. HIGHLY recommend!

  • Paul's place is located in one of the most scenic spots in Colorado. The views from his property are amazing, as is his wonderfully eclectic home. Filled with beautiful artwork, instruments, historical artifacts, it is like staying in a museum. Paul loves to interact with guests and has amazing stories! We really enjoyed our stay with him, and wish it could have been longer. The bedroom was very comfortable, and we were treated to a lovely eggs & coffee breakfast. We highly recommend his place as a truly unique Airbnb experience!

Only 20 minutes from Salida, it's the perfect getaway with beautiful decor and design (the clawfoot tub is to die for and the bed is so cozy!!) and Paul has really thought through all of the little details to make your stay really special. We will definitely stay again!

  • We decided last minute to stay at Paul’s place and we are SO HAPPY we chose Paul as a host! He is a lovely and energetic person who spends his days making art and collecting antique things to decorate his terrific house. You can have long pleasant conversations with Paul whilst sitting on his sunlit porch. You literally wake up with a mountain view from your bed (very comfy btw!). You have a whole bathroom to yourself with a victorian bath and huge shower. I will DEFINITELY come back to Paul and his place if we’re ever nearby again! Thanks for all Paul.

  • Hillside Colorado Cottage's was an absolutely divine place to stay for a weekend exploration trip of Southern CO. The location was unparalleled for both sunrise and sunset views, and the property was isolated yet still accessible despite it being winter and experiencing some recent snowfall. The cottage itself is the perfect size for two people, we loved it for a romantic getaway, and offers an impressive kitchenware collection. We look forward to coming back in the summer months for another stay!

We love the location with all the wildlife + breathtaking views, the cottage is always sparkling clean, and it’s loaded with everything you need! The personal touch of their Peppermint + rosemary lotion, shampoo, + conditioner is so refreshing! I always buy some to take home with me! We caught our own trout and grilled at the cottages. We enjoyed their provided coffee and they conveniently have a fridge, stove top + microwave. Towns are close by if you want to eat out or stroll the town. • The private, "Sunset room" was perfect for my wife and I. There were 2 gentlemen staying in the bunkroom and then a couple in another private room neighboring ours, but it was very quiet and peaceful. We utilized the shared space and kitchen which were well kept and stocked well enough for some basic cooking. Perfect place for our short stay while enjoying Monarch Ski resort.

Swissvale is a short 10 minute drive from historical downtown Salida. This beautiful home sits right on the banks of the Arkansas River with private riverfront property. Gold medal fishing, rafting, kayaking and swimming from the back door. Here you can get away from the business of life and recharge in nature, yet are so close to town. Hikes nearby and a great deck to just sit and let stress melt away as you listen to the sound of the river flow by.
Uniquely situated in the Big Horn Sheep Canyon of Freemont County but just moments to the river and art town of Salida. Private stairs take you to the river frontage where you can rest, fish, boat or swim (depending on river flow) in the Arkansas River. Truly a one of a kind piece of property. You can go on a hike out the front door or drive across the river and have access to public lands and national forest, more fishing, and hiking. Salida offers many great activities such as the FibArk white water festival that has been happening since 1949, Art Walk, Bluegrass Festival, Brewers Rendezvous, Holiday Park & Christmas Mountain to name a few. On top of that you are close many of Colorado's famous "14ers" if you are wanting a high altitude hiking adventure. Many companies offer white water rafting down Browns Canyon, the Royal Gorge or Big Horn Sheep Canyon. You can also rent kayaks or inflatable kayaks (ducky) to float the river as well. Renting an inflatable kayak in Salida allows adventurers to paddle class II and III for 7 miles to your personal river retreat in Swissvale. Book a guided fly-fishing tour in Big Horn Sheep Canyon, starting in Salida, and finish the day stepping off the raft at the back door of your personal river retreat. *bedroom pictures to come soon as they are being remodeled*

-Sunset Ridge RV Site- Bring your RV and stay on our little piece of heaven we call Sunset Ridge! Located only five miles from Salida, you can skip into town for a bite to eat, take off on your bike and petal into town for morning coffee, or be at the Arkansas River in a matter of minutes. The site has plenty of room for pulling in and maneuvering large RVs. The site is primitive without any running water or electricity so you will want to plan accordingly.
Site has an amazing view of the Sangre de Cristo and Saguache Mountain Ranges. Close enough to town, yet far enough away for privacy. Drink your morning cofee as the sun rises, or sit in your lawn chair and watch the sun set.

Backpackers and tent campers welcome for now. Maybe some smaller campers, I did clear out a nice camper spot with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. No actual building on the property so come and enjoy Nature in a quiet area with plenty of wildlife and soothing views.
Amazing views to take in at Jack and Cody's Mountain Retreat. This is a lightly developed 6 acres where backpackers and mostly tent campers can come stay for a night while traveling. Longer stays definitely welcomed, come enjoy the beautiful mountain views and amazing Sunrises and Sunsets.
The Mountains are amazing just witnessing the changes from day to day is humbling. Small towns nearby have some great genuine people, rushing rivers, and great coffee.
  • If y’all want amazing views and great hiking trails just a few feet from the campsite, I definitely recommend staying here. Checking in was great. Jack, Maya (the pups,) and Cody were all great hosts. Cody made sure to help us with our stuff and is extremely amicable. My puppy had a great time for his first birthday

    Stephanie2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Parking was easy to find, GPS led us right to it. The pups greeted us followed shortly by Cody. Cody was one of the best hosts I've met and it was a great night. The camping spot was a short walk from the car and had plenty of trees for hammocks and ground for tents. Only thing better than the stars at night was the sun lighting up the mountains in the morning.

    Julia2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view of the mountains during the day, so many stars out at night! Great host.

    Anna2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cody was such a great host. We can’t wait until our next stay here.

    Stephanie2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cody is a super host and quick to respond to questions. The spot is pretty awesome also. The tent area is a distance of about two minute hike from where you park your car. I was able to drive there with a minivan no problem.

    Pezhman2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a blast! If you are debating.. do it! Cody was super nice and accommodating.

    Fairon2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This campsite is beautiful and clean. We brought firewood and then realized the forest was full of great wood! We loved walking around the area and hanging out in the hammocks. Cody was super friendly and his dogs are amazing. The views and the stars were perfect. Great fun spot.

    Lizzie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect getaway. It's a bit of a hike back to the campsites but the views do not disappoint. Cody is awesome and friendly. We felt totally safe and comfortable. Will definitely be back!

  • What a wonderful place to stay! Great views of the mountains, amenities like a pool and indoor/outdoor tubs, proximity to downtown Salida and other attractions, and pet friendly to boot! The rooms are simple and clean and the hospitality isn’t too much, without being too little. Would definitely stay here again!

I even came back with a couple of wet and sandy dogs. I was able to hose them off and let them dry in the sun thanks to the staff!

    Linda2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean, comfortable, and with a nice style. The outdoor areas to hang out in were great as well. They also kindly accommodated our need to check in a bit early in order to get ready for a wedding.

    Ed2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Best atmosphere in Saluda living space! Loved all of it. The view of the mountains from our room, the hot tubs and pool, the patio to watch the clouds go by and the stars at night, even games to play in the common area, and l9ve the idea of a black washcloth for makeup removal. Most importantly the feel of love for a beloved furry friend, Loyal Duke is everywhere...from the welcome mat in the room to the welcoming of pets accompanying you. We will definitely will stay here everytime we come to Salida.

  • We stayed in the Loyal Duke Lodge Queen, perfect for two people looking to distress far from Denver. Communication with Skeeter was quick and efficient. When we checked in we were greeted by Steve who was very friendly and informative and directed us towards F street - a 3 min. drive from the lodge - there you will find Salidas Main Street with different restaurants, boutiques and a river walk. The room had thoughtful amenities down to the plastic rocks glasses great to take to either one of two New LED lit jacuzzis located outside by the pool or the amazing smelling shampoo and body wash. They had a very cozy fire pit / pic-nic area excellent for grilling out- wait for night fall the pic-nic area is covered in cute twinkly lights. For our one night stay in Salida the lodge was the perfect choice. Thank you again!

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
The Private Room is located in the hostel to give guest a bit more privacy. Guests are able to interact with other guests as they wish, utilizing the kitchen and common spaces.
Our neighborhood is the largest historic district in all of Colorado. We enjoy keeping our character and the large number of small family run businesses in our town. One block from the Arkansas River and miles of hiking/mountain biking trails.
  • Tony and Kiwi were amazing hosts! They both are so nice and chill and very hospitable. Great first time stay in a hostel. The house dogs, Styx and Bruno, were sweet. Very cute, clean, and in a great area. Was really fun meeting fellow travelers and locals at the house.

  • Check is was a breeze, they were very accommodating with how late we arrived. The feel was like any other hostel I have stayed in. Not too quiet or private as you are renting a room in a house with other people. The fire alarm did go off on the first night we were there and it was a little bit scary as it smelt like burnt toast or something from the upstairs suite yet noone came out to let us know what was going on.. This is not the host's fault unless they were the ones in the suite that night.. Overall as I expected it would be! Great location and met a few other guests who were super great!

Bienvenidos a Casa Sandoval! Originally built in 1908, this adobe casa housed railroad workers for decades. Recently brought back to life with fresh charm and an uplifting vibe, this warm abode is a perfect place from which to explore Salida, the Arkansas Hills trails, or go ski Monarch. After a day of adventures nestle in by the fire with a good book and mug of cocoa. Whatever you do, you're sure to feel the magic of Casa Sandoval. **Book now to lock in these introductory rates!**
Nestled against Tenderfoot Mountain, Casa Sandoval is perfectly situated both in and out of town. On the other side of the Arkansas River, Casa Sandoval's quiet half acre comes with great views of the night sky, the Sangre de Cristos, and the Collegiate Peaks, and is yet a mere 5 minute walk to the "F street bridge" and downtown Salida. Trailheads to the Arkansas Hills Trails system are roughly 100 yards from your front door to boot! The house itself has an open kitchen and living room with the wood burning stove of your dreams. Big windows and french doors offer 180 degree views of town and the surrounding peaks. You'll find two warm bedrooms and TV room/ study in the back of the house. The celestial bathroom will take you to new heights as well. Finally, as you settle in, you may begin to notice that Casa Sandoval is unlike any other vacation rental in which you may have stayed. The magic of this land drew the Sandoval's who lived here and worked the railroad for over 70 years. Hard to put into words, there's something inspiring and uplifting--invigorating and reassuring. Kind of like a good hug from your favorite college professor, or the satisfaction you get from finally solving that rubix cube. The pieces just seem to come together here.
Its Salida! Enough said. Go have a cup of coffee and a scone at the local coffee house. Wander the shops and galleries. Go listen to a concert at the Steamplant. Grab some pizza at Moonlight or a whiskey at the mayor's distillery. But if town's not your jam, then wander the trails and the hills up behind the house. Maybe rent a bike in town? Go out a little further and get into the Sangres or the Collegiates. If it's warm enough, go jump in the river. Or if there's snow, make the 15 minute drive up to Monarch Ski area. Really, you just can't go wrong.
  • Great place to stay!

    Lyle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A beyond beautiful space with colorful and stylish touches, in a perfect location! We would stay here again every time. The home felt cozy, fun, and welcoming. We loved the mountain views from the windows and the close proximity to town. And the hosts were very responsive. Loved everything about our stay and can’t wait to return.

    Amelia2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best air bnb experience I’ve ever had. It was a perfect, private get away for my husband and I. The space and energy is incredible. So much intention and hygge has gone into this place. I appreciated that they had a coffee grinder and French press, and offered some tea options as well. It’s within walking distance of downtown- it’s just across the River. If you’re visiting Salida I highly recommend staying here.

    Katie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an amazing, peaceful, and cozy little sanctuary. Plenty of space for a small group (two couples) or just a short weekend retreat for two. The fireplace is just the cherry on top of the already wonderful ambiance. We will definitely be back during the warmer months to utilize the outdoor fire pit and adorable porch that all has a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. The hosts were great with communication and their managers were more then accommodating with any requests.

    Alex2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Casa Sandoval was great! The house is adorable and very clean! The host was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Wood was even sorted and stacked for easy use of the wood stove. The door code was also provided a few hours prior to check in to ensure there was no stress upon arrival. It was also comforting to know that the host was available by phone the entire weekend if we had any questions or concerns.

    Bailey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Casa Sandavol! It was the perfect place to relax after a weekend of skiing at Monarch. We were big fans of all of the aesthetic choices, the rugs, tiles, books, etc brought the whole place together. The wood-burning fire place was a nice touch too. Such a beautiful house! We will definitely stay here if we visit Salida again!

We have intentionally tried to preserve as much of the ranch house as possible while still updating the house to today’s standards. The most notable piece of history is the Monarch cook stove in the kitchen, the doorways and doors that are not as tall as today’s standards, the original wood floor in the master bedroom and original moulding around some of the doors. The house is a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with all the amenities from home. We hope you enjoy our little piece of ranch history!
The ranch house was built sometime in the early 1900s. We aren't sure of the exact date. It started out as a one or two room house. Throughout time additional rooms have been added on.
The ranch house is located on our family's ranch which has been in the family since 1890. Our family came to Colorado in 1865 prior to the Civil War before Colorado became a state. While staying at the house you can look out the window and see the horses in the corrals. If you walk to our corrals you can see pigs and cows depending on the time of the year. Our ranch house is conveniently located approximately 5 miles from the town of Salida. If you're into fly fishing the house is within waking distance to the Everett Fishing Lease on the Arkansas River. You can also hop in the car and be there in a couple minutes. If you wish to go to Mount Princeton Hot Springs the house is about 20 minutes away. If your planning to go skiing, Monarch Ski Resort is about half an hour away.
  • Brady and Kim are wonderful hosts and provide the perfect home with its rustic country charm complete with antiques and farm animals! It has a cozy comfortable feel of staying at Grandma’s farmhouse. Very clean and has everything you need to for a comfortable stay to make lasting memories with your family. Highly recommended and would love to stay again!! Brady and Kim are quick to respond to questions and are very friendly and helpful, but give you all the privacy you want to relax and enjoy your stay.

  • We contacted Rhitt when we arrived a bit earlier than expected and he welcomed us to come ahead. Marlyn had turned on the air conditioner and left a key for us and we were set. Unfortunately our phone service was not great, but wifi helped, and Rhitt provided his landline for us to make a call to our daughter who was meeting us. The room was clean, the linens and towels soft and comfortable. We were happy for a coffee maker and microwave and fridge. This place is conveniently located for sites in the area including whitewater rafting, the Royal Gorge, and Salida. We took several motorcycle tours while we were there and enjoyed those as well. I highly recommend this place.

  • Marilyn was the host during our stay and she was wonderful. Very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. She even had extra special treats for our dog and our toddler. We will definitely return whenever we are in the Arkansas River area.

This room is very sunny and bright, king bed with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains south of Salida. Includes private bathroom and shower.
Our favorite room. Decorated in red and gray, there is a photo of Venice that reminds us of our favorite B&B ever. There is one king bed with a private bathroom and a gas fireplace. The bathroom and shower are carved out of closets original to the house, and the shower opens directly into the room. This room is very sunny and bright, with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains south of Salida.
  • Wonderful! I plan on staying here every time I pass through Salida.

  • Stayed in the Red Mountain room. It was private and quiet. I’d likely stay here again if I was skiing Monarch again.

  • We enjoyed our private room. It was clean and comfortable with a nice view. We loved the location, with a river path right next to it, and only a 20 minute walk to downtown.

  • This place was super neat! The room was spacious and had an interesting set up regarding the shower and bathroom. The Cali king bed was definitely ideal after a days of snowboarding at monarch. Kitchen use to include morning coffee and muffins. This place is a steal for its price.

The Simple Lodge is close to the city center (right in historic downtown Salida), Riverside Park, art and culture festivals, music venues, restaurants and dining. You’ll love this spot because of the kitchen, the coziness, the location. The Lodge is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends AKA dogs.
This space is a shared dorm room. You will have a single bed in a room with other guests.
The Simple Lodge is located in historic downtown Salida. This town has been rejuvenated by a large outdoor community and a major impact from artists. We are one of the few remaining small towns of America to hold on to most small businesses, so as you enjoy this town you will not see any corporate influence. We are so happy to show guests the joys of living here and what our quaint town has to offer.
  • Great spot! This is a well managed hostel in a stellar location in Salida.

  • What a cute little house with a welcoming yard so close to everything. This place has a kitchen with real ice cubes and lovely muffins everymorning. What a wonderful surprise opening our suits door to find a spacious bedroom with a hidden extra bed that my nephew absolutely adored. So nice to relax after a long day of activities in a luxurious clawfoot bathtub including special fizzing bath bombs. The host offered information about local activities and restaurants. All of the other guests were friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend to friends and family.

  • Second time back and wouldn't look anywhere else. Conveniently-located, cozy, warm, and sweet. Stayed in the Red Mountian room solo the first time, then the North Star Suite this time. Both were worth it! We'll be back any time we're in Salida.

    Malorie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sweetest staff, and gorgeous North Star Suite. The bathroom is phenomenal and was the last remaining thing on the top floor before renovation. Great location in relevance to town, and very clear directions for check in and out.
