Mersea cottage - in a perfect location

The house has been owned by the same family for the last 40 years, it has been modernised over the years making it feel like a home from home. We feel that The Lane is arguably the best and most characterful location on the island. If you are a seafood enthusiast you couldn’t be better situated as The Company Shed is a 5 minute walk away. It’s walking distance to the beach and sea wall. The village 15 minute walk away with restaurants, cafes & shops. Bikes are a good way to get around the island

There are two pubs serving food daily and the Marina Bar with its excellent cuisine. The Stables is in a beautiful peaceful part of Suffolk, on the River Deben, with footpaths, wild swimming, pubs within walking distance, birdwatching, views for artists, and fabulous lanes for cycling. Perfect for paddle boarders and kayaks too. The Stables have been converted into a cosy country cottage with contemporary furnishings, fitted kitchen, bedroom with super king bed, en suite bathroom, shower room, wood burner, 2 TVs and wifi, books and games, and tennis court (by arrangement).

A charming summer house is visible, nestled among lush greenery. The exterior features white wooden paneling and large windows, inviting natural light. Surrounding cobblestone paths guide visitors through the private garden, providing a serene atmosphere. Verdant foliage adds to the secluded feel of the space.

Beautiful Period Fisherman's Cottage

Anchor cottage, an Historic Home and now with EV charger, is a delightful period, cottage situated in the heart of The Anchorage, once known as Mersea City on Mersea Island. It has three bedrooms, a large double, a twin room and a downstairs single bedroom. The bathroom is on the ground floor and large sitting/dining room with a gas heater and provides plenty of space for five people indoors and there is a private, wrap around garden with BBQ area that enjoys the sun at most times of the day.

This spacious Victorian cottage is a great base to explore the coast , walk, birdwatch or paddleboard. Situated in the traditional fishing village of Tollesbury the cottage has a lovely dining area, fully stocked kitchen, two large bedrooms and garden. We’re a 5 minute walk from the water and access to miles of coastal seawall walks and nature reserves looking over the river Blackwater. Tollesbury is a popular place in summer with a saltwater swimming lido and many water based activities.

This is a stand alone unit totally self contained with shower and toilet. Unlike garden rooms this unit has wheels and a tow bar. The (should I say) Shepherdess Hut as it was used by a small holder during lambing to be close to her flock. Not suitable for long stays. More details below in The Space. Our small orchard has 2 x cherry, plum, 3 x pear, 2 x apple, greengage, apricot, mulberry, medlar and olive. We also have two 2 x raspberry, loganberry, Japanese wine berry and our own hops

Fawkes Perch is a self-contained studio apartment furnished in a contemporary style in West Mersea. It's a 5 minute walk from the beautiful monkey beach.The apartment is below our own flat and is one large room, with a king size double bed and a large corner sofa-bed. It has a small kitchen too. The property is ideal for a couple but the sofa bed in the room which would be ideal for children but would be a bit cosy for four adults in the room unless you all knew each other really well!

Comfy, quiet beach cottage for walking & seafood

'The Cabin' is a comfortable, bright, two bedroom cottage on Mersea Island, near Colchester, a few steps from the sea on a much sought after quiet lane. There are two double bedrooms, one with a Super King bed the other with a King size bed and a bunk bed. There are great walks and bike rides either along the sea wall or on the beach, and some fantastic seafood eateries. Mersea Island is off the coast of Essex, 9 miles southeast of Colchester, just one hour from London.
