“Casa del Fico 6” is a lovely apartment on the 2nd floor (30 steps) of an ancient Roman building with no lift, bright, warm and welcoming. Its windows overlooking the typical Renaissance square and the little street market: In the morning the locals enjoy the relax with a coffee over a game of chess. In the evenings it livens up and is a popular spot both for locals and tourists.
Most of its windows are overlooking the famous piazza del Fico, a lively square and center of the Roman "movida" and its exciting nightlife!
One definition of “square” (piazza) is a meeting place; this means that this is where socializing may take place. So you may hear some noise, music and the sound of people chatting. That's why I have installed sound proof windows and I offer earplugs to all my guests.
If you stay at Casa del Fico you get to experience the very heart of Rome, its streets and alleys, its restaurants, shops and coffee bars, its life, its people and also its noise.
The house has been recently renovated, and it’s ancient wooden beam ceilings and wooden floors provide a cozy atmosphere. When you enter the apartment, you immediately find yourself in the living room. This is where there is also a small kitchen area which includes a gas stove, double sink, mini-fridge (with a little freezer space) and a microwave. There is a sofa bed in the living, as well as a spacious dining table. In the bedroom there is a double bed (cm160x190) and a large closet . You enter the bathroom from the bedroom. The bathroom includes a toilet, bidet, sink and a large shower.
The house is fully equipped with everything you need for a pleasant holiday: TV, stereo, internet. It has central heating and air conditioning. The double-glazed windows provide thermal and acoustic insulation.
A child’s cot is available upon request.
The apartment is centrally located which is ideal for any holiday in Rome.
The apartment overlooks one of the most famous squares in Rome. In the morning it is reminiscent of an old village and there are characteristic square chess tables. The afternoon and evening turns the square into one of the most fashionable areas in Rome.
Just outside the door you are greeted by one of Rome’s most famous bars. Here you can enjoy breakfast in the morning, lunch and an evening aperitif. The building is located in an area that is full of locals and tourists. It is next to Santa Maria della Pace and its cloister by Bramante and it is two minutes from Piazza Navona.
The neighborhood is safe, since there are always lots of people around. There are also lots of local pizzerias and bars. You can enjoy the very heart of Rome without having to take public transportation.
Nearby you can find the best restaurants and the best pizzerias and ice cream parlors. Within walking distance you can find the best wine bars in the capital. There is also an exclusive and very vibrant nightlife and the usual presence of many celebrities.
From the apartment, it is easy to reach all the most popular sites in Rome on foot. You can walk to Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, or go to the market of Campo de 'Fiori in the morning. You can also stroll along the river and easily get to the Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo. At lunch time, you can eat at a typical Roman Hosteria in one of the city’s the alleys and immediately go shopping in the most exclusive streets of the center. Afterwards you can admire the Roman and Imperial Forum, the Colosseum and then relax in the wonderful gardens in Villa Borghese. All this and much more at 2-15 minute walk from the apartment.
All roads lead to Rome. And once you are there, there is so much to see and do.
If you prefer to go around by public transport, just a few minutes away from the apartment, in Corso Rinascimento and in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, you can find many bus stops for many different bus lines.
