Oxbow Cottage sits in the idyllic hamlet of Maugersbury, located almost 200ft above the valley bottom below. Surrounded by glorious countryside, there are many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep including those over to the neighbouring villages of Broadwell and The Oddingtons, all home to popular country pubs. The much loved market town of Stow-on-the-Wold is just half a mile away, benefitting from a number of independent shops, restaurants and tearooms, along with the Farmers’ market which takes place every second Thursday of the month, showcasing quality local produce. Stow’s main feature is the historic market square which used to host the annual sheep fairs, and the narrow alleyways, or ‘tures’, would have been used to channel the hundreds of sheep to market. Maugersbury is well-placed for exploring the many picturesque towns and villages of the North Cotswolds including Moreton-in-Marsh, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and The Slaughters. The Bolt Hole'The Bolt Hole' is situated in the lovely Cotswold town of Northleach. It is within a few minutes walk of the town square, shops, restaurants, pubs and church. The location makes it an ideal touring base with Stow-on-the-wold, Burford, The Slaughters & Moreton in Marsh all within 15-25 minutes drive. It is also within easy access of Broadway, Stratford, Oxford & Cheltenham. An excellent selection of restaurants, pubs and a wine bar are within easy walking distance of the cottage. It is furnished to a good standard and has underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen / dining area is fitted with dishwasher, full size oven, hob & grill, fridge and microwave. There is a small sitting area with TV. The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a separate bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and sink. Outside is a small enclosed courtyard with table and chairs We're right in the middle of the Cotswolds so the main towns and villages are all within a 15-20 min drive.
