Take a walk on the wild side! This off-grid bamboo house sits on 6 acres of pristine beachfront in a small rainforest community surrounded by wildlife. If your dates aren't available here, see our other three houses: Casa Linda, Casa Pina and Casa Sonrisa.
“The photos and description of the house don’t do it justice, and truly it’s impossible to capture its magic without going there. The house is so generous with space, light, rooms and appointed with everything you might need in a home. A fabulous kitchen, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms and incredible views. It’s a wonderful house for a family, we brought our 4 year old son, who enjoyed playing in the yard, on the beach and lounging in one of the hammocks. My favorite ritual when staying there was to open the shutters each morning to the sun rising over the ocean just across the front garden. We saw scarlet macaws, 4 types of monkeys, and other wild wonders daily without even leaving the house. Despite having an largely open-air house, I did not get a single mosquito bite nor did I have to use repellant. The ocean breezes and sound of the waves was a rare luxury and so was the lack of art direction and packaging and marketing one has to work to avoid when going on vacation. I appreciated the privacy and quiet this place gives yet one doesn’t feel isolated as there are other houses on the compound with Kirk and William, the caretaker and guide, very nearby. William was an amazing benefit of this house as he is a native of the Sosa Penninsula and skilled guide who took us on a jungle watch and pointed out things we wouldn’t have seen without him. He can take you on night hikes, kayaking, turtle expeditions... We opted to stay home and cook but there are a tiny handful of places to go for food nearby. We will definitely be going back, and recommend it enthusiastically. I also forgot to mention that the house has the best Costa Rican pour-over coffee maker and we drank amazing local coffee every morning while watching the sunrise. It’s truly a wonderful house.”
Set amid the jungle canopy, Punta Jaguar is the perfect base for your adventures. Built with unique, breathtaking views of the ocean and jungle, the house is alive with the myriad species of birds and animals of the Osa. Situated 500’ above sea level, property is cooled by sea breezes.
“This is TRULY the most amazing experience I have ever had in all my life. The treehouse is all that and more. Brilliantly appointed, clean, and the views are out of this world! The treehouse happens to be situated on the superhighway of monkeys, scarlet macaws, and toucans. What we did notice that other lodges were taking their clients out on the main road to scout for animals... We enjoyed the treehouse and the animals came by on their own. Most of my photographs were taken 20 feet from the house. A true paradise. I took so many pictures that are literally National Geographic quality! Here are some pointers: You NEED, I cannot stress this enough, a 4x4. The roads are rocky and you have to cross 2 rivers in order to get to the driveway to the Treehouse. Puerto Jimenez is the closest town and where you will find all your groceries. The main grocery store has liquor, wine, meats, etc. It is a well-stocked store. Martina's is the local restaurant bar that is 8 minutes away from the Treehouse. Go THERE! The food is fabulous and on Friday nights the local artist display their crafts. Super fun and the DJ is awesome. There is a pingpong table there so the kids enjoy that. My teenagers wanted to go ziplining. I booked us at Corcovado Canopy Tours at Drake Bay. 2.5KM of zipline. 13 ziplines in total. It was amazing! It is a 2-hour drive to get there but well worth it. We did a 1030a zipline and had a fabulous lunch in Drake Bay. I have to mention Alcides. He is the caretaker. He is so nice and helpful. We got lost trying to get to King Louis Waterfalls. It was during the dry season so the waterfalls were not exactly waterfalls. Alcides guided us to waterfalls that were flowing. We had a fabulous time and he was lovely. He cannot speak English but he is very adept at pulling out his cell phone and using a translator. Works perfectly. I was relieved to have him so close by. I was the only adult with 3 teenagers. If something were to happen, I knew Alcides was there to help. Nothing happened but it was a relief to know he was there. You do not need to worry about snakes or scorpions. We did not see any. You must book this treehouse. You will not be disappointed. It is so close to nature and you can unplug. Oh, Alcides gave us WIFI. Worked perfectly. Thank you all for the most amazing trip of a lifetime! We WILL be back!”
Our beautifully furnished private 2 bedroom bungalow has everything you need. An open gourmet kitchen with indoor and outdoor dining, plus lounge space for your enjoyment. Surrounded by landscaped gardens, minutes away from the beach.
“We had a GREAT experience at Dawn, from Nannette !! The house is comfortable, cozy, very clean and very well equipped. Full of details at the service of who is staying. From Costa Rica animal guides, repellents, books, flashlights, a welcome wine and even shovels and beach buckets for the little ones! Just to name a few things. The location is also excellent. Surrounded by the jungle, we could enjoy seeing monkeys of all kinds, barnacles, toucans, lizards and the constant sound of the jungle ... MAGICAL! And always feeling safe. Thank you Nannette for such a beautiful experience and for your hospitality and that of your team! We will surely choose Dawn again!”
