We’ve maintained the antiquity of the house along with many antique pieces of furniture. This elegant and comfortable apartment in situated in an antique post & beam barn that sits perched above rolling fields and vegetable gardens looking out over the Penobscot Bay. From the porch, guests can watch the local lobsterman pick up traps and see schooners weaving through the islands. The apartment sits over Salt Water Farm Cooking School, a small recreational cooking school for home cooks.

This gorgeous oceanfront house, with breathtaking unobstructed ocean views from the large deck and nearly every room, is owned by classical musicians and is aptly named La Mer (“The Sea”), after a famous orchestral work of the same name. Our sanctuary is private, cozy, spacious, and artistically inspiring. Downtown Belfast is less than 10 minutes away by car.
