This sweet & cheerful cottage, which is a small converted barn, lies in the middle of Hulme End's attractive hamlet. It's surrounded by fields & hills & is at the head of the Manifold Valley's walk/cycle track. Opposite is a café & a well-loved, family & dog friendly pub is a two minute walk away. Nearby Hartington is a pretty, well appointed village, & many of the Peak District's most loved attractions and towns, each with their own, individual characteristics, are just a short drive away.

The lanes are lined with pretty sandstone cottages and an idyllic ford runs through the cobbled street below the cottage and a great country pub is round the corner. The area is surrounded by nature and the perfect location to sit and watch the wildlife go by, whilst being mesmerised by the uninterrupted views of rolling countryside. Cuckoostone Barn is an excellent base to explore the wonders of the Peak District National Park, with amazing walks and cycle routes on the doorstep, or a place to simply relax and unwind in an idyllic part of the world .

Hawthorne Cottage is a lovely recently refurbished limestone cottage in the glorious Derbyshire Peak District just steps away from Hartington village centre and its 2 friendly pubs, a perfect place for a relaxing break or for the more energetic there’s great walks (dogs welcome!) and cycling trails on the doorstep. We have the great advantage of 2 PARKING SPACES and a lock up for cycles. The terraced gardens afford views over the village and surrounding hills beyond.
