The West Seattle neighborhood is a favorite of Seattlites--known for its friendly people, stellar views, excellent restaurants and bars, and most famously, Alki Beach.
  • We have been to Seattle a couple times before, and this place was by far our favorite we have stayed at! Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we loved all the attention to detail and small touches they've put into their place. We can't wait to visit again!

  • Clean, stylish, comfortable spot in a great neighborhood. I’ll stay again if I get the chance

    Ted2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sometimes it's just perfect to have it be just the way you'd imagined. What a lovely creation this is! We had a quick one day vacay for a birthday getaway and we loved it! Tophats off to Tipsy! (Sorry we didn't have time to sign the guest book. We are locals so maybe next time!)

  • We have been curious about tiny homes for a while now, this was an awesome chance to get to try it first hand! The place is really nice and we had a lot of fun staying in it and seeing West Seattle!

    Hayden2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience in a tiny house and it was perfect. The attention to detail was impressive.

    Lynnette2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place is groovy and fun. The repurposing of salvaged lumber is attractive and solid. The light is perfect and the bathroom is surprisingly roomy. I recommend it as a nice place to stay if you're in West Seattle.

    Jennifer2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at their tiny house. I'd stay there in the future!

Find your own private, comfortable corner of Seattle to rest your head while you explore the city. Our block features a frequent bus line (every 10-15 minutes) that will whisk you to the heart of downtown Seattle, and we are a 20 minute walk to The Junction in West Seattle. The building is a cozy converted garage, fully-finished and hand-built with a carpenter's touch. The unit is completely private and fenced off from our home, and we have furnished it so that you can have a hassle-free stay.
Our converted, fully-remodeled "garage" is the perfect size for long and short stays. The garage was personally built by a contractor with his own unique flair, and is a no-nonsense, functional living space. An ample living space area has a TV and sectional couch. The kitchen is equipped to cook your own meals (there is a range, but no oven) and has a long table. The bathroom includes a stand-up shower and all the basics.
We live in a quiet, peaceful West Seattle neighborhood which feels like an escape from the busy life of the city -- but the city is still only a few miles away! For us, it's the best of both worlds.
  • Christopher’s place was very very clean!!! Super super adorable! Lots of space. Full working kitchen. Very quiet and private. Great location ... only about 15-20 minutes to downtown. The place felt so cozy! Great deal too! I have nothing bad to say, you should absolutely stay here!!!!

    Samantha2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for over 2 weeks, and really felt this place became home. Apartment had everything we needed and more and they went above and beyond to make the stay as nice as possible for us. The area is amazing as well, and we will be back.

  • Amazing place that can’t be passed up. Great over all space in a convenient location short from the city. Beautiful B&B in a quaint neighborhood in West Seattle. Owners provided many amenities and information that made the stay easy and enjoyable. Don’t let this space get away from you! Book ASAP!

    Dustin2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

  • Absolutely perfect Airbnb. It’s such a cute little place, very peaceful and the hosts were great!

    Nancy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of my favorite Airbnb’s that I have stayed at. The place is super cute and has lots of little touches. Although, not super close to the downtown, it is only a bus ride away which I loved. I would totally recommend this place if you’re looking for something homey. Chris and Joe were amazing hosts who were able to give local recommendations and were easy to communicate with.

    Iris2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place was a wonderful place to stay. It's located near enough to downtown without being right in the hustle and bustle. It was clean and cozy with anything I could have needed. Chris and Joe were responsive and helpful during my stay and I would highly recommend their place to anyone staying in Seattle.

  • This space is awesome. The steps are a little steep but it adds to the charm. The space feels much larger than in looks in the photos. Owners are super responsive and added a few treats for guests

  • One of the best air bnb’s I’ve stayed at! It was spotless and so put together. The decor was fantastic and made the stay that much more cozy and felt like you were right at home. Both check in and check out were extremely easy. The hosts communicated very promptly and provided us with everything we needed for our stay. 10/10 would recommend staying here again!!

    Maddie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute and quiet area. Close to everything.

  • Sarah and Mark’s place was so cute. I arrived after dark and appreciated that there were motion sensor lights illuminating my path to the apartment. The space is very well thought out!

    Lisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Sarah have created the Perfect Airbnb Experience. They have all the ingredients, location, personal and professional touch. Airbnb, take note! Bestow the Best in Class to these inn keepers and their property, they could provide training for your entire company. Nothing short of uncompromising excellent travel experience. I will return soon and often.

Wake up to spectacular views of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier from this 700 sf, 2-story, chic and comfortable cottage on a 40 acre waterfront property. The southern exposure beach is ideal for strolling, beach combing, and relaxing. The beach w/ picnic area, fire pit, propane bbq, hammocks, and lounge chairs awaits you for outdoor r & r.
The charming & stylishly decorated loft has a kitchenette, wood stove (wood provided), queen bed in the open loft & a 26" wide daybed, and a full-size sofa sleeper on main floor. Cozy, rural, quiet and comfortable! Leashed pets welcome as long as they are not left alone in the loft. (A $40 pet deep cleaning fee per dog, with a limit of 2, applies). The bathroom, eating space, kitchenette, and wood stove are on the main floor and the sleeping area is upstairs in the open loft. The Loft has a spectacular view of the Sound. There is a queen bed and a narrower 26" wide daybed upstairs that work for a small adult or child, and a double sleeper sofa on the main floor. There is shaded sleeping platform at the water’s edge for summertime siestas. There are stairs and a trail to the south facing, fabulous, private beach. Orcas sometimes visit, seals and otter pass by, deer nibble outside your door ( mostly on my roses!) and there are eagles perched in the trees. The beautifully landscaped property property is ideal for quiet getaways —it feels remote but is just 20 minutes from the ferry. There are great restaurants, wineries, horseback riding, and mountain biking and hiking trails nearby an Pt Robinson lighthouse is a 10 minute walk along the shoreline or through the forest ( or a 2 minute drive away). This quiet and special place awaits you! And, in case you need more convincing, Lisa is one of the top Super Hosts on Airbnb with 100% consecutive SH status since the property was listed in 2016 and with hundreds of 5 star reviews. If you have any questions, please ask! If the loft is booked, or you want to invite more family or friends to join you, consider the two other guest spaces on the 40 acres: The Coach House at Wildwood (sleeps 4), the Forest Cabin ( sleeps 3 and has an outdoor soaking tub), Bluff House, Wildwood Barn Studio (sleeps 2). It is a short walk 5 or less walk between the cottages. Each is private, unique and fabulous in its own way. To see the other cottages and an overview map of the full property, click on my profile photo or on the icons near Loft & Beach on the map to see photos, availability and pricing of the Coach House at Wildwood or Wildwood Studio. The Loft and bluff yard are available for celebrations of up to 65 people (weddings, reunions, family celebrations, birthdays, photo shoots, film use, etc.) Inquire for availability and pricing. Loft & Beach and Bluff House is an ideal location for small events: baby showers, weddings, birthday celebrations, reunions, film production, photo shoots, etc. Don’t worry: for wedding/event days all the cottages are booked with the event, so you won’t be bothered by an event nearby if you book just one of the cottage! and all the cottages are booked, so you won't have an event going on if you book just one or some of the cottages. Vashon Field and Pond, the entire 40 acre property along with the cottages and Bluff house can be booked for larger events (up to 500 people). The exteriors and interiors of the cottages and the property have been featured in The Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Seattle Bride Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Sunset books, in catalogs (Cutter & Buck most recently) , advertisements and in film including Anthony Bordain's "No Reservations" (aired Nov. 19, 2017 on the Pacific Northwest show). Celebrities have chosen to be married on the property - it is truly a stunning place to be! We are very familiar with how to coordinate details of large and small productions and events to assure your time here is a success and exactly as you want it to be. PLEASE NOTE: Summer Saturdays are blocked on the calendar until April 30th for weddings and other events to book. After April 30th the cottages can be booked separately from the venue for summer weekend dates.
Rural, peaceful with a spectacular view of Mt.Rainier. Other than our house, there are no visible neighboring houses. We have horses that pasture next door, Point Robinson lighthouse park and a marine park for beautiful hikes and picnics. The hammocks at the beach are up in the summer and there is a fire pit at the beach for grilling over the fire and making s'mores. 40 acres of privacy await you! If you are interested in hosting an outdoor event at the Loft, Mid-May through late September, for up to 60 people, the yard/property may be leased with the loft at an additional cost. We also can accommodate large events for up to 500 guests on the adjoining property. Please let us know if you might be interested in hosting an event and we can discuss the options. ( There is also a private 40 acre property nearby with the same lovely southern exposure and fabulous Mt. Rainier view. It has parking for up to 250 people ($2,000 & up per day) and can be leased for outdoor events May - September. The Loft can be used as honeymoon suite, dressing area or guest quarters, and there are two other overnight accommodations on the property: Wildwood Studio and The Coach House at Wildwood. Please inquire for further details.

  • This loft is like a little nautical dream. You'll love the views, curling up by the fire, having a quick hike down by the beach, and then taking a hot shower in the updated bathroom. We loved it here, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a get away from the city!

    Hart2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Simple, rustic charm in a jaw-dropping setting. Be sure and take the stairs down to the very walkable beach. Spot-on recommendation for dining at The Hardware Store; had a fantastic birthday dinner there.

  • Lisa’s loft and property are amazing! I came to Vashon from Seattle for a long weekend getaway. The view did not disappoint. The stress relief was sublime!

  • Wow! What a getaway! My wife and I loved our time at the Loft. Beautiful views and a cute-cozy stay. So grateful for the opportunity.

    Ronald2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very fortunate to be able to enjoy this property for a long weekend. The beaches, views, Madronas, and landscaping are stunning. It is clear this place is well loved by this family and we felt honored to be a part of that for a short time. This is probably the most stunning privately owned parcel on the island. If you want a true PNW experience, this is the place. Thanks Lisa!

This quaint custom built cabin is on our 3 acre homestead. Located on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound just a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle. Repurposed wood treatments and windows make this space an architectural delight. Our farm hosts a flock of laying chickens, a farm cat named Lucy, a large vegetable and herb garden, a small orchard and grounds to enjoy wildlife. Please note the cat does not go in the cabin. She lives in the farmhouse and garage and keeps the mice at bay.
The 200 square foot cabin has a luxurious queen bed (with brand new Saatva mattress), small sitting area, bathroom with shower and private front porch. It is equipped with a small refrigerator, electric tea pot, and a press pot. Tea and coffee and half and half are kept in the cabin. The cabin is a 80' from the main farmhouse giving you lots of privacy. Please note the cabin is not child safe or handicap accessible. We cannot host babies or toddlers. We do not serve breakfast.
Vashon Island is safe rural community filled with art, farming and foodies. The Vashon Chamber of Commerce web site is a good overview of visitor opportunities. The Beachcomber publication "Destination Vashon" is a must have resource for visitors. It can be viewed online by visiting The Vashon Beachcomber website or picked up in your room.
  • A cute lil getaway for any Vashon traveler!!

  • CABIN OF MY DREAMS! This place is perfection. It is a perfect example of shabby chic. It has a rustic cabin vibe yet with beautiful decor and the architecture is simply stunning. I was in awe of all the detail in this cabin, the pictures don't do it justice. Natalie has created something very special here. The bed is a dream. The shower is very roomy with great hot water and pressure. Wifi works great. The porch is like stepping back in time, and the grounds are just beautiful. This is also one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in. You have ultimate privacy, it is SO peaceful. There are so many thoughtful touches that Natalie has left for you. The coffee was awesome. My only complaint was not having more time here! We didn't want to leave. If you want to venture out on the island, the location is absolutely perfect, central to everything and yet still somehow feels world's away. I will be back for sure.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

    Karl2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and I really enjoyed the small cabin, perfect for a cozy place to stay while enjoying the island, I’d definitely stay here again, the only thing even remotely of an annoyance was that the side grill wasn’t working while we were there but that being the only downside makes this place perfect, all enmities listed were there and the property it’s on looks especially nice id definitely recommend this for a group of 2 or less its the perfect size

Beautiful waterfront location. Your rental is the downstairs unit of a duplex located on Beach Drive in West Seattle. We are a mile from Alki Beach and Alki Avenue restaurants and shops.
There are stairs on the side of the house to the lower unit. Beach can be accessed from the deck. The kitchen has an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, keurig coffee maker with K-Cups, pots/pans, plates, glasses utensils. A charcoal BBQ is available for use on the deck.
Beach Drive is vibrant, but not as hectic as Alki Avenue. There are many restaurants and shops along Alki Avenue and up the hill on California Avenue. There are a few parks within walking distance, and the Seattle Waterfront is 20 minutes away.
  • Brian &Amara’s place is amazing. We were there in winter. The place was warm and cosy and the view amazing. We felt like we were on a cruise ship.Nothing was too much trouble for our host.Would recommend it strongly

  • We spent 4 days at this beautiful Airbnb to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The view of the Puget Sound was ah-maz-ing and one of my absolute favorite things to do was just sit and watch the water change from pink to blue to green to gray to orange and to black. There were seals and sea lions, all kinds of birds and ferries and tug boats going by. The main strip of Alki was an easy walk with lots of restaurants and coffee shops to enjoy. The place itself is fantastic. So clean and stocked with everything you might need to enjoy this little hideaway. If you are looking for an awesome little getaway, go here. You won't be disappointed.

The view was outstanding as well. It was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city at night and come home to you quiet and quaint west Seattle. We hope to make another trip back in the summer for some hiking!

Charming private Vashon beach cottage. Get away from it all, unless you need it all, in which case you'd probably be happier in downtown Seattle. There's beach access and plenty of quiet at night. You can hear the water, the marine life and the birds. Vashon town is about 7 miles. Plenty of restaurants and interesting small shops. Pt. Robinson lighthouse is a short beach walk away. These pictures were taken early summer but some guests enjoy the winter.
Private guest house with deck and water view. Approx 400 sf. One queen bed and one queen pull out sofa sleeper. Stall shower with great water pressure. Fridge, microwave, 2 burner hot plate, cooking and serving items provided. Outdoor gas grill. I don't charge a cleaning fee and I accept 2 night bookings.
The neighborhood has tall trees behind and the beach in front. It's quiet here. The neighbor has small dogs and they bark--but go in at night.
  • Staying in The cabin was wonderful! The location was lovely and the place was so cozy. And Olive was so sweet! Thank you Chip, it was exactly what we needed!

    Valerie2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chip’s cabin is a cozy getaway from the city. You walk in and are welcomed by a fire in the stove. The waterfront is right out the back door and makes for great views while relaxing (we saw some porpoises!) Location couldn’t be better - close distance to the Point Robinson lighthouse, downtown shops and many great hiking trails. There is a binder filled with ideas to check out while on the island. Communication with Chip was a breeze. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!

    Sam2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Treated my parents to a weekend stay at Chip’s place. They had a phenomenal time! The proximity to the waterfront was amazing and they loved the space itself.

    Alex2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin for the weekend. Secluded, comfortable and has a great view! Olive was very sweet and we loved the binoculars and books/games Chip had in the cabin

    Kaylee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cabin right on the shore -- property includes direct beach access, a local restaurant guide, and everything needed for a quiet night in. Check-in was seamless and we never even noticed the property owners next door. A quaint and quiet property on South Vashon Island -- would highly recommend and stay myself again!

    Keara2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute space, great view, and just a very relaxing vibe.

    Lauren2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint and quiet, if you are looking for a place to 'get away' from it all, this is it.

    Judy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Such a cute and cozy space. We loved having the fireplace and being able to see the water from the glass doors. The cabin was a lot closer to the main house than we expected (you have to pass it to go down by the beach area) but it was very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely try to come back in the summer. Such a great value!

A charming studio apartment on a 40 acre, forested estate. A 5 minute walk through woodland trails to a pristine, private Puget Sound beach, or drive 2 min to the lighthouse beach at Pt. Robinson Park. This fully furnished, light-filled studio sleeps 2 in a comfy queen bed, has a wood stove (wood provided), a full kitchen, bath with shower, picnic area and propane barbecue. Horses graze outside your window; wildlife abounds. Pets are welcome with additional $40 fee. A non-smoking property.
A peaceful, restorative getaway just a 20 minute ferry ride from Seattle/Tacoma. The rustically-decorated, clean, studio is ideal for one or two people. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, wood stove (wood provided) and access through trails to our private beach. Enjoy coffee on the covered porch and watch horses graze nearby. Grill on the barbecue (propane provided) and eat a relaxing meal in the forested picnic area. Decorated with various old tools, antique skis, skates and sleds, heirloom trophies (from great grandpa's collection), birch tree table legs and bed posts, wine casks from the Italian family vineyard, oil lamps, and other "lodgey" decor, it is an unforgettable place. Two full-sized horses and a miniature horse graze on the pasture outside your door. The property has been designed and meticulously maintained by the same family for over 30 years. The goal has been to preserve the natural beauty of the woodlands and to protect the ecology of the forested landscape for the native flora & fauna: deer, eagles, hawk, heron, raccoons, owls, frogs, woodpeckers, etc. that make the property their home. Ideal for birdwatching, exploring the shoreline and aquatic life at the beach, or simply relaxing by the fire in the unique space. With Point Robinson Lighthouse Park just a few minutes walk through tranquil trails or a 2 minute drive away, you are invited to explore the magic of Vashon/Maury islands from this memorable location. At the beach you might see seals, sea lions, otter, heron, kingfisher, and occasionally even Orca, Humpback or Gray whales. If you have a party larger than 2, the Wildwood Coach House (690 sq.ft. ) is located on the opposite side of the barn and may be rented separately. It has a queen bed in the bedroom, a sofa sleeper in the living area, full kitchen and claw foot bathtub with a shower, a barbecue/picnic area outside, a wood stove with firewood provided and maximum occupancy is 4. Also available on adjoining property is Vashon Loft and Beach, which sleeps 4, with a water view and it's own beach access and waterfront picnic area. You can also book the entire property, (see the Vashon Field & Pond Event Venue listing) for weddings and other special events during the summer months. You can click on the red icons on the Airbnb map to see photos of the other cottages and event venue. Dogs that can be easily controlled on a leash are welcome, but must be leashed at all times, everywhere on the property for the protection of wildlife, cats, horses, rabbits, chickens and ducks. Always take your pet with you when you leave the studio. There is an additional $40 de-allergen deep cleaning fee for pets, and a maximum of 2 pets. PLEASE NOTE: Some summer weekends are blocked until May 1 for scheduling weddings/reunions/film & photo shoots and other event use. Don't worry: when Vashon Field and Pond is holding an event we don't rent the Coach House and Studio to guests outside the event, so you'll have peace and quiet during your visit.
South facing, the property is technically on Maury Island which connects to Vashon at Portage. There are lots of good hikes on trails on the property, the beach, at Point Robinson Lighthouse Park and the Maury Island Marine Park within walking distance. The town of Vashon is a 15 minute drive away, so you might want to pick up groceries on your way through Vashon town if you arrive via the Seattle or Southworth ferries. If you are coming from Tacoma, there is a tiny store in Burton (at the 4 way stop) for groceries, or you can continue north on Vashon Highway for 10 minutes until you reach the town of Vashon with 2 grocery stores, galleries, shops, restaurants, movie theater, gas stations, library, etc. Vashon pretty much requires that you have a car. Metro Transit busses 118 and 119 come within about 3 miles of the property; you can get to the Bunk House in about 20 minutes from the bus stop on a bike. Vashon Shuttle Service offers door to door transportation to/from Sea-Tac airport and the ferries. Uber SOMETIMES operates on the island, so check before you depend on it for a ride. Check to see if Uber is operating on the island during your say if you don't have a car. Unfortunately, our insurance does not allow us to transport guests.
  • Absolutely loved the place! If you are looking for a date night stay this is the place!

    Kiersten2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I’d recommend this to friends and family, such a gem rental. The wood fireplace was the perfect way to settle down at night in the cabin style accommodation. We used basically all of the supplied amenities and they all worked great. The ease of the rental really helped us have a wonderful weekend on Vashon. 5/5.

    Nathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A gem on Vashon and a great place to relax and disconnect!

    Jess2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb was PERFECT for a quiet getaway from Seattle. Vashon Island is beautiful - and this property was amazing. The studio was cozy and had everything we needed for a quiet night, from a wood-fired stove to a very comfortable bed. Being able to walk to the beaches and lighthouse from the studio was a highlight. Can't wait to return.

    Megan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful, and peaceful place to stay. My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend getaway and we will definitely be back

    Karly2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy and relaxing retreat. The studio was clean and comfortable and the property is so beautiful. What a treat to get to stay in a barn with horses right outside your door!

    Ryan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my time at the Wildwood Studio! I booked the studio for a few weeks in January/February and it was the perfect, cozy place to hide out the rainy days (with its big picture windows and warm blankets and wood-burning stove), as well as an amazing jumping off point for the drier days (when I'd head out for a run on the hills or a beach walk or a visit to the lighthouse). What a spectacular property!

Our place is just a few miles from the Fauntleroy/Vashon ferry terminal, and minutes from the town of Vashon. Tucked snuggly on the West side of the island, the cabin looks west over Colvos Passage. The cabin itself is essentially a spacious studio-- one large room with a loft, a small kitchen, and bathroom. A queen size bed is in the loft, and the couch comfortably sleeps one person. The bathroom has a large clawfoot soaking tub, and there is an outdoor shower. It is extremely cozy!
  • One of the best Airbnb experiences I have had! The cabin was perfect—homey, very clean, charming, amazing view, awesome tub, tons of books—the list goes on! I would highly recommend staying here. Great for a solo retreat or a romantic getaway. Brita was very communicative and helpful.

    Kim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a relaxing and lovely time! Would definitely return :)

    Saralyn2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Westside Cabin was just stunning. I'm going to echo what we wrote in the guestbook there--it truly felt like we were forest bathing but doing it from the comfort of a cozy home! We loved the big tub. Sleeping up in the loft is lovely. There were lots of books and games and we made especially good use of the cribbage board. Plus, Brita gave us such good recommendations for places to eat. We didn't make it down to the beach this time because we were too smitten with the cabin itself, so we'll have to just go back sometime!

    Laura2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My second time staying, and my first choice for the perfect Pacific Northwest cabin. It's such a quick trip from Seattle, but you'll feel a million miles away. This is the west side --quiet side of Vashon Island! And the clawfoot bathtub, with a nature view, is a dream.

    Rhia2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Second visit as amazing as the first! Moon on the water! Bath tub of dreams.

    Moorea2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place to retreat and unwind! The space is peaceful, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful touches. The tub and bathroom are perfect - long soaks with the windows open to hear the forest and ocean tide were our favorite! Brita was quick to respond and super accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

    Lily2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second trip back to Brita’s place, and her cabin is really one of the best in the PNW. Great communication, quality build, strong WiFi and good cellular signals. Can’t wait to come back!!

    Alice2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is a gem; very cozy and was super nice in the rain. We could see the trees around us swaying in the wind during a rain storm and hear the sound of rain drops on the roof. The kitchen is small but has everything you need including stove burners, oven, hot water boiler, coffee maker, and pots pans dishes. Bring your smart phone and you can play music through the Sonos app on their speakers too. Anytime we had any questions Brita was quick to respond to us. The bed is cute and cozy up in the loft but very squishy so could be good or bad depending on your back. Overall, it was a lovely stay for my husband and I and close enough but far enough away from everything. Also the bath is amazing and has the best view so do make use of it!

On a forested, spectacular 40 acre estate: walking trails, ponds, access to a pristine private beach or a one minute drive to Pt. Robinson lighthouse beach, horses, wildlife, birdwatching, BBQ & picnic area. Beautifully decorated, fully appointed kitchen, wood stove, claw foot tub/shower in the bathroom (bring your fav bath soak!), bedroom with a comfy queen bed & large closet, a sofa bed & in main living area. Pets welcome with an additional $40 fee for deep cleaning. A non-smoking property.
A beautifully decorated, peaceful and restorative getaway from the city. An immaculate, large ground floor living space attached to the east side of a large, picturesque barn, with a full kitchen including a dishwasher, woodstove (wood provided), propane BBQ (propane provided) , pic-nic table in the forest, full bath, bedroom with queen bed, room darkening shades in the bedroom, a large closet, an open loft for yoga (one mat provided) and a sofa bed in the main living area. 2-4 more guests can bring pads/sleeping bags to sleep up in the loft for an additional fee per person. There are outdoor lounge chairs under the arbor (seasonally). You can drive 2 minutes all the way to the shoreline at Pt. Robinson Lighthouse Park or walk through the forest trails to our secluded, south-facing beach. There is a nice long hike from Pt. Robinson to the Maury Island Marine Park when the tides allow, and Island Center Forest and Dockton Trails are a few minutes drive away. The water in inner Quartermaster Harbor gets warm for swimming in the summer, so you might want to experience Dockton Park or Burton Beach for swimming, kyak and paddle board rentals. Seals, sea lions, heron, kingfisher, and occasionally Orca, Humpback and Grey whales can sometimes be seen from the beach. Deer, owls, woodpeckers and songbirds frequent the bird feeder and forest right outside your door. The exteriors and interiors created by Lisa DeFaccio have been featured in The Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Sunset books, in catalogs (Cutter & Buck most recently) and in film including Anthony Bordain's "No Reservations" (aired Nov. 19, 2017 on the Pacific Northwest show). Celebrities have chosen to be married on the property - it is truly a stunning place to be! We are very familiar with how to coordinate details of large and small productions and events to assure your time here is a success and exactly as you want it to be. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, a queen sofa sleeper in the common area, and you can bring your own airbeds or mattress pads and sleeping bag to sleep 2-4 more up in the open upper loft (additional charges per person apply).
The property is 40 acres of forest and trails located a few minutes walk from a spectacular beach and Lighthouse at Pt. Robinson Park. There is a separate studio on the other side of the barn should you have more than 4 in your party, that is rented separately. The property is available for reunions weddings, photo/film shoots and other events, also. PLEASE NOTE: Summer weekend dates can be booked after April 1 as they are blocked until then to allow for potential wedding/event use.
  • I went for a quiet weekend but was so surprised by the amazing grounds, the magical light inside the house all day long, and the peacefulness and attention to detail. We loved walking down to the beach through the forest trail. It’s easy to feel so far away on Vashon, and this tranquil space was just what the doctor ordered.

    Emily2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The coach house and grounds are just beautiful, very private and far exceeded our expectations. We can’t wait to come back in the Spring/Summer. Vashon is a very easy getaway and I am excited we found this ranch to add to our short list of destinations. The interior was sparkling clean, the bed was super comfy and my teenage kids loved spending time with the horse. When we arrived, there were three deer watching us from within the trees, the winter flowers are blooming, and the it felt magical. Thank you, Lisa! The night away was just what we needed!!

    Jennifer2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely little place on such a beautiful property. It was the perfect relaxing getaway from busy life for me and my pup. Lisa was amazing with with quick responses to questions and small touches really made the stay a great experience.

    Janelle2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is just a beautiful, perfect gem of a place: visually so wonderful inside and out. The style and decor is welcoming and calm, the property is rife with birdsong, beautiful deciduous trees, deer, flowers, ferns, and fairy-like walking trails. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, including amazing privacy and quiet. A very, very special place.

    Kimberley2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location. Beautiful property and space. Much better than expected. The bed was so comfortable and the whole coach house was extremely charming. Highly recommend! Also, Lisa was helpful with our questions while there :)

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time staying here. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The walk down to the beach is a must. We enjoyed using the woodstove and the bed was so comfortable! We would definitely come back.

  • Lisa’s cottage is pretty spacious and stylish. It’s perfect place for a weekend getaway to enjoy the paster life.

    Ricky2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We are so happy and satisfied with our stay at Lisa’s AirBnB! The pictures do not do it justice; even in the cold and wet winter it is such a beautiful property and location, and such wonderful accommodations. This was the perfect place to stay and recharge with a comfortable and dreamy bed, cozy and relaxed decor, beautiful trails just outside of our doors, and wildlife surrounding us. We did have some issues with the keyless entry, but Lisa was attentive, responsive and helped get the issue resolved in a prompt manner despite being out of town herself! It gave us the peace and confidence you hope to have in any host. We cannot wait to come back and will encourage everyone we know to stay at Lisa’s when visiting Vashon!

Beautiful KVI Beach is a short walk, through a tree-lined neighborhood, from my cozy sunlit home. A 10-minute drive brings you to a new Center for the Arts, several individually-owned art galleries, two grocery stories, and a variety of regionally-recognized and locally-loved restaurants. My 100-year-old house has color and character, a wrap-around deck, views of water and Mt. Rainier, friendly neighbors, and lush landscape. A peaceful place for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Our stay at Elizabeth's place was excellent. The house was exceptionally clean, had a great location and is a great place to relax and enjoy the island. Elizabeth was very friendly, and provided good coffee and snacks at the house. She provided many resources about the island, restaurants and sights to see. It was a lovely stay, and we hope to be back again.

  • Elizabeth was such an incredible host. Very informative on local places to go, available for any questions I had, and even provided snacks and breakfast items! Everything was organic and I can tell she cares about clean living. The home was cozy and inviting. I loved the wood stove and views of the water. I would definitely come back!

  • Elizabeth’s Artist Cottage was really great. She was a wonderful and friendly host. The kitchen was well-stocked with fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, coffee, spices, cooking condiments, and way more- everything that you don’t want to bring on vacation. It was super clean, and the views from the main room were overlooking Puget Sound and west toward the Cascade Mountains. Bed was very comfortable. The wild deer wandering around and grazing just outside the window, added a very relaxing ambiance. I highly recommend this place! Five stars, without a doubt!

    Richard2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Host provided a lot of very useful local knowledge - history, hiking, food, ferry schedule, etc. Nice place - very quiet, nice view, and I dug the interior styling. Will be my first choice when I return.

    Mark2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This spacious and colorful getaway was so awesome I wish we could give Elizabeth 6 stars! The view is amazing, Elizabeth is super friendly and helpful, and so many thoughtful touches like a well stocked kitchen with nice knives and pots and pans to use, as well as travel mugs so the four of us could take hot drinks to the beach. We hope to come back!

**Note to guests: in response to COVID-19, we are now disinfecting surfaces between visits. We are also supplying disinfecting wipes for guest to use during their stay if they choose. We are keeping the space open, due to it's remote location - complying with social distancing is still easily accomplished. We recommend bringing your own food (refrigerator provided) if you would like to avoid the grocery store and restaurants.** Open to the elements, L.o.V.E. provides a unique experience with nature while staying at our boathouse on Quartermaster Harbor. Watch for seals, otters, herons, osprey diving for fish, and the occasional bald eagle perching on the pilings of the dock. Paddle around Quartermaster Harbor, and explore Judd Creek. Enjoy a glass of wine amid the water's cool breeze, all while taking in the view of Mount Rainier's snowy top. Relax in the hot tub during the evening, and observe the reflection of the moonlight on the water. It's the perfect place to unwind and adventure around the beautiful Vashon Island. Furnished boathouse at the water's edge of Quartermaster Harbor. We are located approximately 3 miles (5 minute drive) from downtown Vashon, and about 1 mile from Burton. Please note that our facilities include an outdoor shower and enclosed chemical toilet. Due to our proximity to the water, biodegradable soaps and shampoo are provided. Our walls are not insulated, and it is possible some sounds of nature (primarily birds) can be heard from inside. Also, in the heat of a summer's afternoon, it can get quite warm inside the boathouse. This is quickly remedied by opening both doors, and allowing a cool cross breeze - and/or keeping a window open. The space does not have central heating, and can get quite chilly in the fall and winter, and even on a cool summer’s night. A space heater is provided, but does need to be turned off while guests are away. We want to make sure your experience meets your expectations. Please consider this and other reservation details before booking. Guests are welcome to use the kayaks and hot tub. Paddles and life jackets are located on the property. It is possible to launch from both the floating dock and the shore, depending on the tide. Please use caution. Guests assume risk for all activities on the property. I love to connect with new people, but also respect desired privacy. We will let you set the tone, and are always available by phone or email. I'm happy to meet you upon check-in, but you are also welcome to arrive and check-in on your own. Vashon is a 20 minute ferry ride from Seattle and Tacoma, but feels like a world away from the hustle of the city. We hope you are able to relax, and enjoy the wonders of this beautiful island. The boathouse contains a fan for warm days, and a space heater for cool evenings.

The first bedroom has a queen bed, and the second bedroom has two twin beds.
The house has been professionally decorated by Lemon Design Editing with art curated by Mary Angela. Brand new beds and bedding. Aero-beds available as needed.
Home is in a serene, secluded, setting with gorgeous views of Colvos Pass. You can access a beach about 1/2 mile from the home.
  • Wonderful view, relaxing atmosphere, great home!

  • Great house with stylish details. Beautiful sunset view and deers out the window to entertain the kiddos.

    Megan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, airy, cozy, and inspiring place. The views are completely magical, the space is exactly as pictured, the kitchen is well-stocked, and Shannon & Jon are perfect hosts. It felt like a true retreat --- the beach is a short walk from the house, and we saw deer in the yard every morning. We had a power outage for a couple of hours during our stay, and Shannon & Jon checked in with us immediately, updated us on electric company's progress in repairing things, and even had a neighbor check in on us in person. We would absolutely come back.

  • This place was beautiful and just enough of a get away. The space is beautiful and well equipped with kitchen items, bathroom supplies, and linens. The large windows in the living room were so beautiful to sit and look out at the water. It was about 15-20 minutes from most things in town (restaurants, bars, grocery stores, etc.) which was a bit of driving on some dark and windy roads, but not too far.

    Christina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous setting and a relaxing quiet place to enjoy any type of weekend. Everything is exactly as described. The rave reviews are no surprise to me. We enjoyed the sweeping view and wraparound deck. Highly recommended.

  • Great spot to unplug with a view. Good kitchen set up and overall value.

    Adrian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hosts! Shannon and Jon make sure that you are taken care of; they give such awesome tips on what to do when you're in the area, super hospitable and overall just awesome. The house itself is gorgeous, very clean and has a breathtaking view of the Puget sound. Would recommend for anyone looking for a getaway from the city or anyone looking to decompress and enjoy nature.

Reconnect with nature in this wood-crafted, sunlit cottage. Gaze out at Puget Sound and The Cascades; watch boats drift by from bed, eagles soar while you dine, or cozy up to the fireplace with the mountains as your backdrop. Leave your cares behind!
Vashon Island is a beautiful, enchanting place, and our guest cottage is set at one of the most gorgeous spots on the island. The view literally takes your breath away; it looks out at Puget Sound, the Cascade mountains, and sunrises that astound. Nestled above the water on a high bluff, the cottage is located near the bottom of a wooded, dead-end road. It is kitty corner from our house, so the view out the front windows is unimpeded by the house, yet close enough to stop by if you have any needs, questions, or just want to say hello. Public access to the rocky beach below is just a short walk down the road. Bald eagles regularly soar by, seals call, and occasionally a pod of orcas will bound through the passage. You can make yourself cozy indoors and out. The cottage is beautifully built with wood everywhere, cathedral ceilings, large windows, skylights, and a peaceful feel. Make a cup of tea and sit by the fire as you watch the boats drift by. Outdoors there are benches (shared with our house), and greenery all around. The cottage radiates an inviting warmth which permeates your being; the perfect place for a writers retreat or relaxing, romantic getaway. You could never leave this oasis and be very happy, but if you are inspired to explore, Vashon is well worth venturing out. Take walks in one of the many parks and wooded areas, or for miles along the beach; bike around the island roads, or take a mountain bike ride on the extensive state lands trails; go visit art galleries, antique shops and restaurants; try horseback riding, or rent a kayak on Quartermaster Harbor. One may find it hard to believe such an island paradise is so close to two major cities (Seattle and Tacoma), but time seems to have stopped on Vashon, and it's a magical place to be. Come and visit, and let the spell work on you!
The cottage is adjacent to the main house, and shares the yard and garden. It lies on a dead-end road; walk up the wooded road just one mile and you will arrive in town. Walking down leads to the beach where you can stroll for miles during low tide.
  • A perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The cottage was extremely clean and very comfortable. It offers amazing views and close proximity to town. Looking forward to my next visit!

  • Your cozy cottage perched on a high bank looking out over the water was a lovely space for my mini retreat. I loved it! Thank you for sharing this gem of a place.

  • What a gem! We loved our stay here and it was the perfect secluded getaway. The place was comfortable and warm, and easy to find.

  • We had a wonderful stay, and hope to return. The cottage is charming and comfortable. The daytime and nighttime views were inspiring. The accessibility to town and shoreline were just right for us to hike and enjoy.

Masterfully designed tiny home ideally located in the heart of the island, minutes from coffee shops, restaurants & the beach. Prepare breakfast in a sunlit kitchen & dine at the window bar overlooking peaceful, lush gardens. Re-energize yourself after exploring the island by taking a nap on the bedroom window seat or bask in the sun on the private deck with your favorite novel & a cup of coffee. Cook out on the grill as the sun sets, finishing the night under the stars next to a roaring fire.
We wanted to keep the environment in mind when creating the Little Red Cottage so we have used repurposed building materials and furniture throughout the cottage as well as installing a top-of-the-line Swedish composting toilet. Though just 400 sq. ft, the spacious feel will wow you: it has a well-equipped kitchen with coffee (from our local roasterie) and tea provided so that you can enjoy a lovely cup at home. There is also a refrigerator, freezer, stove-top and microwave enabling you to prepare some meals in. In case you would like to dine out we have provided a list of restaurants and coffee shops for you to experience here on the island. Warm yourself by the gas fireplace as you watch your favorite shows on the smart tv, or let your writing juices be inspired at the antique writing desk looking over the beauty and serenity of the garden. Also we have provided a high quality mattress, fine linens and your choice of pillows hoping that you can come and rest well while you stay with us. We hope you enjoy our yard while you sit at your cafe table and chairs out on the private deck or by enjoying the hammock in the orchard.
We are in the very heart of the island: a 15 minute walk to the town center, or a 5-minute drive to the beach. Vashon is accessible only by ferry. The ferry docks are Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal, in West Seattle which docks at the North end of the island or Pt. Defiance Ferry terminal in Tacoma which docks at the south end of the island. The Fauntleroy ferry dock is a half hour drive from SeaTac airport and from downtown Seattle. The island is quite rural with the north end ferry landing being a 10 minute drive to the town center and the south end ferry terminal a 20 minute drive. The easiest way to get around the island is by car. We do not have taxi, Uber nor Lyft services on the island. I do have a contact of someone who periodically does pick up people from the ferry dock. Please let me know if you desire their services for they are not always available.
  • This place is actually perfect. Everything about it. Location and house were so awesome. Will definitely be back. Laura Beth was very helpful as well

  • Beautiful little cottage. Just a little cold a night!

    Morgan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Well decorated and comfortable accommodations. A great location for visiting all that Vashon Island offers. Serene setting that allows for rest and relaxation.

  • A sweet cottage on a peaceful pastoral setting. The space is just as described and the photos show. Very clean, modern, tastefully decorated with thoughtful touches. Pretty close to town yet in a private country setting. Would recommend staying here for your Vashon Island get away. Laura Beth is very prompt with communication and accommodating.

    Ruth2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely island and a cozy tiny house, the perfect place for a quiet retreat. Laura Beth's tiny house has all of the amenities we needed for our short stay during the Winter. This was our first time staying in a tiny house and it was surprisingly comfortable; although please note that if you are tall you'll need to watch your head! We're not tall (5'5") and it was just fine for us, but any taller and I think we'd have some issues. We decided to go car-free and though this is possible (we used the local bus and walked a lot) Vashon is hilly -- be prepared for some hiking. Close to the quaint downtown main street and tucked away on her charming property, the space affords you with peace and convenience. Wintertime is sleepy and not much is opened on Mondays and Tuesdays (while we were here) so it's best to bring some books and catch up on R+R. We had that in mind so it was perfect for us. The listing is accurate to description and photos and Laura Beth was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Thanks so much!

  • This is a wonderful little cottage very close to Vashon. The place was very clean and check in was a breeze. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • This was an absolutely fantastic night away in a perfect space. The house is quiet, warm, comfortable and clean and set in an absolutely gorgeous yard. The house has all the little extras like *nice* body lotion and even bandaids. The bed is very comfortable. We didn’t hear a peep from any one outside the house. It is easy to find and has easy parking. I really cannot wait to come back here!

Welcome to Genrose Cottage. My name is Sara and I am so happy to be your host! Genrose Farm was a working horse farm but now offers visitors a sweet, comfortable, clean cottage to enjoy while you relax on our beautiful island. I live on three and a half acres of pasture, forest and garden. Lots of birds, my two sheep, a resident doe (Phillipa) and chickens will visit you. It is an easy 1 mile walk or bike to town and our favorite coffee shop is right up the street!
Genrose Cottage is just shy of 200 sq ft , with high ceilings and lots of light. Just right for two people to wind down and enjoy the island. The bath house is a few steps away, connected by a large deck. The cottage is equipped with a mini fridge, coffee maker, water kettle, and plate service for two. Complimentary tea , coffee and half and half will get you started. The floor of the cottage has radiated heat controlled by thermostat providing a warm ,, dry heat. Also provided is an oil heater for a touch up heat and there is also one in the bath house.
Genrose Farm is conveniently located in what is known as Center. We are 1/4 mile away from the Vashon Performing Arts Center; my favorite, historic, Roasterie Coffee shop and Minglemint, an organic grocery. Vashon town is an easy mile via the highway. There is always some thing happening in town! Look up vashonevents.com to find out. Many people bring their bikes to explore the island. Bikes and e-bikes are also available to rent in Vashon town.
  • The moment we got there she approached us and gave us a tour of the farm and the history and then showed us the place and gave us tips on the heating etc. it was cold and windy yesterday but the space heater and floor heating made it comfortable. The space has games and puzzles and many other great touches. A small kitchen area but we went into town and ate dinner at Ruby Brinks which I could not recommend enough. The bed, the cottage, the touches are first class, just wished we had more time, but will be back Such a great stay

    Shannon2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely room, very comfortable and an idyllic setting. Sara was very kind and her communications were clear. I would love to visit again

    Kellie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place is absolutely over-the-top charming and perfect. She's done such a good job decorating it, the building is beautiful, the bed is comfortable, the space is spotlessly clean, the location is super close to town but far enough to feel like a real vacation, and she's stocked it with coffee, teas, great books, etc. We'd stay here again for sure.

    Brittany2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We so enjoyed our stay at sara’s Cottage! It felt worlds away from everything. The interior was stunning and we loved the view out to the pasture with chickens and sheep. This cottage is central to everything on the island! Thanks you sara for being such a thoughtful and helpful host ❤️

  • Lovely private spot. Perfect for a little getaway.

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s cottage is a lovely space! It feels really private even with a relatively close proximity to the house and I loved the view of the sheep in the morning. Sara was so considerate in her communication and and gave great directions on a blustery night on Vashon.

    Emma2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was so cute and cozy! My favorite part was waking up to the farm animals and wildlife all wandering around outside. I would love to go visit again when it’s spring or summer. Can’t imagine how much more beautiful it could get!

    Erin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s Cottage was perfect for our overnight trip to Vashon. Not far from the main strip, but just far enough to feel secluded. Sara greeted us when we got there and showed us around the property. She also gave us some helpful recommendations.

Great 180 degree Views from south end of Vashon Island. Spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and Pt. Defiance. Tacoma city and Commencement Bay lights up views at night while Pt. Defiance is dark. This cozy 1 bedroom has a king size bed, 1 bath with a shower and unique 1/2 size tub. The views are amazing from the bedroom, kitchen and living area. At high tide you feel like you are on a boat. Access to our private boat ramp for kayak, SUP, or other small watercraft. Come enjoy being on the water!

  • Even though our stay was only one night we are absolutely in love with Clam Cove Cottage. The location and views are spectacular and even though we live only minutes away in Tacoma, we felt like we were a world away. If you need a place to go for peace and quiet or a romantic getaway, this place will be a dream for you. We hope to come back very soon!!

    Eduardo2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is a gem on Vashon island. Very easy to get to off the ferry and just far enough away from Tacoma we feel like we are really getting away! Lance even checked in after the power went out for just a few minutes after a windy day to make sure all was good. Our dogs enjoyed laying next to the wood stove after exploring the beach while we read and watched the ferries, seals, birds and rain. We cooked and kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans. Very clean and cozy. Look forward to visiting again in the summer for new experience at this great spot.

    Maggie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay with Janet and Leslie very much! The cabin is adorable, with everything we needed to feel right at home. The kitchen was really well stocked. Janet was very generous with her time and her garden--she helped the kids pick flowers, climb the apple tree, and hunt for tiny pumpkins. Our little pup was thrilled to have the run of 3 acres with all of the smells of deer and other creatures. It was a perfect Vashon stay!

  • Really nice room approx. 1 hour away by bus from downtown. The house is in a really nice and peaceful neighborhood, which makes it a great place to stay if you don't want to just go around the city. The bus stop (with lines 21 and 22 going to downtown) is right next to the house. There are not many places to eat around though, which makes it a bit hard to find dinner after busses stop running more frequently. Tola is a great host with a lot of recommendations not just about the popular spots but also about more private places. Would like to stay there again gladly.

    Therese2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and had some nice touches. Coffee and a drip machine were in the room and was a life saver in the morning. Being able to walk down to the beach was a great bonus. Great hosts and a good value.

    Aaron2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place near the water. Arrived later in the evening than planned, but communicated with Tola, and she greeted me without a problem when I arrived. She gave me some good tips, what to see and do in the area. There was sunshine pouring through the windows in the room, I felt truly fortunate as it's often cloudy out. Walked down a cute trail to the beach, gate is almost in front of the house. Anyhow, I highly recommend!

  • Tola and Slawek are amazing hosts! The space provided was clean and cozy. Tola went out of her way to give us tips and suggestions based upon the area we were in and wanted to explore. There were lots of brochures out for our use, as well as a map marking local places to enjoy. She made it point to ask us how our stay was going and if we needed anything extra every time she saw us. Absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for a warm and welcoming space away from home!

    Emily2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tola and Slawek's place was so worth the price and was much better than I expected! They provided so many amenities and thoughtful touches and Tola was so kind and helpful as soon as we arrived. The room was much bigger than I expected and had everything we needed and more. They were very quick to respond and even suggested what shoes to wear if I wanted to go through the private beach entrance even without me having to ask. Wonderful stay overall!

  • Tola and Slawek were hospitable, knowledgeable, friendly, and the home was beautiful and extremely clean. Close to cool SW neighborhoods, beautiful viewpoints of the Seattle skyline, parks, and our FAVORITE place to eat, Marination.

This beautiful waterfront Vashon Island Craftsman cottage is just steps from the Vashon ferry terminal and located at the beginning of the historic bunker trail. Enjoy a break from the city life and be mesmerized by the waves crashing on the bulkhead during high tide. With 155 foot of waterfront beach access discover the red sea cucumbers, purple shore crabs, starfish, aggregating anemone and more during low tides. If the time is right, you might be able to see bald eagles flying overhead, view a couple of the local otters venturing into the water, or even catch a glimpse of an Orca or two. The home has two bedrooms, outside deck/patio, fully furnished, all amenities and washer/dryer are available. Free WiFi, Comcast Cable, HDTV, DVD player and Xbox w/ misc games. There is also a sofa sleeper futon in the living room. Parking for 2-3 cars is available. If you are bringing a baby or infant we have a Pack-n-Play in the laundry room that you are welcome to use. La Playa Mexican restaurant is just a minute walk and downtown Vashon is just 5 miles down the road. There is city bus transportation into town right at the terminal entrance. ** Note: There are a bank of stairs from the garage at the top of the road down to the house so it might not be suitable for people with mobility problems. Off peak we have flexibly pricing based off current demand. How do I get to Vashon Island? The Fauntleroy to Vashon Island ferry leaves West Seattle a few times an hour and more frequently during peak commute times. You can check the Washington Ferry schedule website for time tables. The ferry ride is about 18 minutes each direction and you only pay going to Vashon and the return trip is free. You can drive a vehicle on the ferry or walk-on. There is a bus stop about 100 yards from our home if you want to go into town once on Vashon. During the summer on weekdays only you can take the Water Taxi directly to Downtown Seattle that lets you off in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Hours are limited so be sure to check the schedule.

  • Amazing location! Spectacular views and so close to the Ferry Terminal. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Directions to the house were easy to follow, there were no issues accessing the property. We live close by but with just a quick ferry trip, it felt like we were in another part of the state!

    Judd2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay. The views were stunning, it was very private, and the place was very well appointed and clean. We enjoyed exploring the island and local restaurants and it really was a fun weekend getaway for our family. The kitchen was well stocked and everything I needed to cook. . We really enjoyed watching the ferry going back and forth and enjoyed the beach combing. A great value for the price and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Glenn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views of the water and the ferries through the big windows. Very clean and peaceful place. I was worried that we would hear noise from the ferries/ferry traffic, but we didn't at all. The bed was comfortable.

    Sunny2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was wonderful! It is close to the ferry, but we never heard any noise from the ferry or the road. It had fantastic views of the Seattle skyline and the water which made for a very relaxing and restorative weekend. A welcoming space that I would gladly visit again.

    Nicole2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This house is so great. It’s peaceful and such beautiful views. We spent so much time looks at all the water birds and playing on the private beach. Even just sitting in the living room is exquisite with the huge windows overlooking the water. Love this place! We’ve been twice and plan on going back.

    Rachel2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a charming seaside cottage with all the amenities necessary for a wonderful visit. So convenient too - a short walk from the Fauntleroy Ferry dock. It is quiet and right on the water. Very comfortable and cozy. I would return!

    Alice2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located close to the ferry terminal on the north end of the island, I initially was worried it would be loud and the traffic would be bothersome, neither of which turned out to be the case. In fact, sitting in the living room looking out the picture windows to watch the ferries come and go was most enjoyable. We saw harbor seals, bald eagles, and ducks galore right outside our windows. The cottage was clean and well appointed. The separate laundry building was super useful during our two-week stay.

    Pete2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, beds super comfy, and if you’re coming during winter time it can get cold so remember to bring slippers!!! FYI they have a waffle maker!!

The cottage is crafted with romance at her heart, just the thing for that special time with your loved one. It is also a great place for a gathering of friends, small wedding parties a honey moon or anniversary. Maybe you would just like to get away from it all. Come an experience the wonder of peace and quiet!
The neighborhood has the feature of not being seen from the cottage. This maximizes your privacy. Being at the end of the road you are afforded the quiet you came to the country to find. You are surrounded by tall stands of Douglas Fir and Red Seder which add to the aroma of the sea for a most unforgettable fragrance.
  • Our stay at the Last Resort was lovely! Perfect place to cosy up and read a book or play board games, which we did! The view is absolutely incredible and being able to sit it the hot tub while looking at the view was the cherry on top.

    Anna2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic. The view is amazing and it’s just the right mix of rustic and comfort for everyone to enjoy. It’s the best hot tub view you will ever get and the wood stove really makes it cozy inside. We got some much needed rest on this stay.

  • Cozy cottage in the woods. The beach is just below, walking distance. Downtown vashon is about 20 min away and is the sweetest town to explore. I will definitely be back soon!

  • Simple perfection with everything you need to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

    Tim2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely incredible. The view of the water from the hot tub was beautiful. The cabin has lots of fascinating little touches like a stained glass window, reclaimed wood, and a beautiful tile entryway. Vashon is a quaint island with a small town feel and we spent the entire day exploring the area before coming back to relax in the hot tub. It really has a very secluded feel to it where you can escape from the rest of the world.

Tall Clover Farm welcomes you to Little Gemma -- a little slice of heaven on Vashon Island. Cozy, charming, well-appointed, and light-filled, Little Gemma embodies all you need to slow down, relax, and enjoy the rural feel and natural beauty of Vashon. The cabin is tucked away and private, yet centrally located near town, activities and beaches. Vashon is a special place, and Little Gemma welcomes you to discover its magic.
I've created a space that I would want to stay in, that offers a quiet retreat with an eye for detail, and an appreciation of vintage furnishings, fixtures and fine linens. Next to the sink you'll find a microwave and an electric cordless kettle for brewing tea and coffee, which is provided (the good stuff). A refrigerator sits quietly under the counter. The main cabin shares the deck with the bathhouse, which has a clawfoot tub, pedestal sink, and compost toilet. As compost toilets go this one is a modern one, where you simply sit and go.
Centrally located, the cabin enjoys a prime location, rural and private, but still close to Vashon town and the Vashon Center for the Arts. Sitting on close to four acres, the property is home to an orchard, greenhouse, historic farmhouse, small barn and towering trees; and is only 1.5 miles from town and two miles away from Vashon's favorite sandy beach, KVI beach at Point Heyer.
  • Awesome place!

    Augusto2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful little cabin with a friendly and responsive host. Fully furnished with everything you need. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the lovely daffodils, history of Little Gemma and the wood stove with all elements ready to go-just needed to light a match! Cabin was even nicer than the pictures. Quaint, cozy, warm and even a bit magical! Would stay again!

    Jennifer2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a comfortable and beautiful place to stay. The bath house was so cozy and I spent hours soaking in the tub and listening to the rain. Tom was very helpful and always made sure we were comfortable and fully stocked on wood for the stove. I definitely recommend staying here.

  • A wonderful location and host. Unbelievably awesome cabin that is close to lots of great spots in Vashon Island. I gifted this cabin to my parents for their anniversary and they can’t stop talking about how perfect it was. And Tom is the nicest guy! Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

  • Little Gemma was an awesome weekend getaway from the city life. Very cozy space with lots of fun and interesting history. Feels like you are more secluded than you are. Easy and quick drive into town for anything you'd need. Tom was great with everything from instructions, recommendations and answering any questions we had! Would definitely come back!

  • Great place to take a break and revitalize!

    Dennis2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Little Gemma is really a small piece of paradise. It's the perfect getaway for two. We really loved all the small details in the cabin and appreciated Tom's hospitality. If you need to get away from the city or just want to laze about and catch up on sleep, please consider Little Gemma~! It's definitely worth it. We hope to go back again soon :D

Set the in-floor heating to just-so and settle back with a cup of Keurig coffee in front of a Roku TV that offers everything from Netflix to Hulu. Vibrant color splashes are evident throughout, from cushions and rugs to canvases and ceramics.

  • Summerhurst has a really nice kitchen and master bedroom. The hot tub was great too with a great view. The location on Maury Island is a bit far from town but a lovely drive. No outdoor dining space FYI.

  • The home is lovely and our family reconnected and spent quality time together with grandparents who live far away. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, playing board games, and sitting on the deck to take in the water view. Our hosts were helpful and thoughtful. They extended our check out time, just because they could, and it was a wonderful gesture that helped us all to relax and enjoy the space even more. The location is lovely too, outside of Dockton and on Maury Island. Our family hopes to return every year!

During the current “Stay at home”order in Washington State until May 4, we will only be taking reservations by request for local needs, essential workers, or longer term rentals. Our eco-friendly tiny house and bath cabin is an oasis amid towering fir trees on acreage. We are close town and hiking trails. The cabin sleeps 3 with queen bed downstairs and bed in the loft. This property is earth-friendly and has toilet, shower and sink in a separate cabin connected by an outdoor walkway.
The sleeping cabin has one queen bed on the main floor in a built-in alcove with another bed in the sleeping loft. It has incredible views of giant fir trees and has a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker. The bathroom is in the separate cabin connected by a 10 foot walkway. The toilet is a high-end composting toilet system that flushes with water and feels similar to a regular toilet but is best for our remote location. We have put a lot of effort into creating a beautiful detailed space that has very little impact on our unique island environment. Be aware that there are stairs to enter the cabin and a ladder to the loft if you are considering mobility issues. This space is best for 2 adults and 2 children, 3 adults, small families, couples or individuals.
We are 7 minutes from the Northend ferry, 2 minutes from town and the property is bordered by a Vashon- Maury land trust property that has many linked hiking trails just feet away. It is a great romantic getaway and is also perfect for bikers looking to bike the island for the weekend. We are also close to Dragon's Head Cider headquarters. They have an amazing property with tasting hours on the weekend.
  • Wonderful cabin in the woods! Lots of lovely touches and local tips. A lot of thoughtfulness went into the design of this cabin. It is so very sweet and cozy and the host was a great communicator! Would absolutely recommend!

    Joe2020-03-12T00:00:00Z

    Amber2020-03-05T00:00:00Z

  • The Beach House proved to be a perfect place for us to work and live for 2 months. Everything was very comfortable, accommodating, clean and offered great hospitality! We certainly hope to visit again soon!!

  • We were very happy with the home and would highly recommend.

    Tyson2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice home with great views. Quiet street as well. We were very happy with it and booked a couple extra days as a result.

    Tyson2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful vista overlooking water w/ easy access to beach and cozy, modern upstairs & downstairs and close proximity to downtown Vashon.

  • Peaceful, fabulous retreat in the woods by KVI Beach. From the moment we drove up and saw the house, we knew this would be a fantastic get-away weekend. Very clean, modern updates - including a nice, powerful gas stovetop, new cabinets, and wood block countertop - and thoughtful small touches, such as fresh dairy in the fridge and colorful Fiesta Ware bowls. Great Asian 50's vintage art work. Comfortable beds and good linens and bathrooms. Most of all, beautiful private views out to the BEACH, and close access. Out for a morning walk along the water, we met locals walking their dogs along the shore and felt welcomed to the island. Only wish we'd seen a seal, otters, or an orca, which the dog-walkers mentioned. Jen communicated quickly, accurately, and warmly. Great written tips for the island. If you're coming in early December, check out the Vashon winter fest. The Island Queen (Dairy Queen) had fake snow blowing off the rooftop in the evening, children playing with delight underneath, hot cider and cookies, and the opportunity to make s'mores over a firepit. All for no charge. What a great community. We'll be back!

  • Jen’s house was exactly what I’d hoped for! We love coming over to Vashon from Tacoma, and this is probably my new favorite place. It’s by our favorite beach, the house is lovely, and Jen made it all so easy.

  • Stayed here one night with my girlfriend and found the houseboat to be comfortable, cozy, and clean! Scotty was the host on-site and we was super helpful, communicative and friendly. We had a great time despite the rainy weather and would return.

    Alexander2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This boathouse is a dream!!! My husband and I came for a mini gateway during Valentine's Day and was lucky enough to be able to stay here. Scotty greeted us with his scooter at the gate and gave a little tour on the place. Everything was very comfortable and cozy. They have a speaker that you can attach your phone for music. We also used the canoe and Scotty took pictures of us while we were on the boat. Would love love love to come back. Thank you for the amazing a experience :)

  • the most beautiful place on the island. Maybe i am biased but i dont think so. Also, OTTERS

    Leah2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Steven's place for my boyfriend's birthday. Scotty met us to check-in, and they had a very nice birthday card waiting for us. It was a super great place and had a lovely outdoor area to hang out on. It's walkable to a small coffee shop and general store. We'll for sure be back in the summer to take advantage of the canoes.

    Jen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - lovely space in a houseboat right on the water. Nicely decorated space, with all of the necessary amenities. Added bonus was the canoe - I was able to go for a quick paddle this am before checking out. I would certainly stay here again! Thanks!

    Caliesha2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, wonderful hosts and everything we needed for a wonderful stay! Such a treat to be on the beach with the water a stone's throw away. Can't wait to return!

    Nancy2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at this location many times and Linda never lets our expectations fall. It's a cozy space where you feel safe and can relax. We'll be back for sure!

    Drew2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was quaint, clean and peaceful. The sound of the water lapping the shore outside was lovely, as were the views. We had everything we needed for a short, comfortable stay.

    Kathryn2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is spectacular!! Amazing views, beautiful apartment and location is absolutely ideal! Linda was a wonderful host - greeting us when we got in late and giving some great local recommendations! I will recommend this over and over!

    Audrey2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place is warm and cozy. Very comfortable and clean. We especially loved walking on the beach collecting shells and sea glass, looking for seals and just listing to the waves. The location is perfect with so many delicious places to eat and beaches to explore. We got some exercise walking from our parking to our place, but the lighting was good making us feel safe even at night. I wish we had more time to experience the local history, especially Three Tree Point.

    Janine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place is so cute & peaceful. I was so surprised by the quiet so close to so much. We absolutely loved it, how wonderful to be on the beach & enjoy the waves crashing on the shore. Highly recommend walking the Indian Trail, Beautiful walk with great scenic views.

    * The cabin is close to the park, hiking trails, boat launch boat and bike rentals. You’ll love my place because of the views, being right on the private beach and the quiet peninsula. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and families. No need to rent kayaks. I have several, a row boat and paddle board. * I charge a $60 pet fee. That fee is due at check in. Please see "House Rules" "Additional Rules"
Having the home sit on the beach is very unique. The beach and water activities are right at your fingertips.
The cabin in on the highly desirable Burton Peninsula. The boat launch is handy if your bringing your boat. And the center of the Peninsula has hiking trails. One of the trail heads is right across street from the driveway. You'll notice many locals taking advantage of walking around the loop. There is also a cute little grocery store and coffee stand that is fun to walk to.
  • Beautiful cabin right on the water, literally! Gorgeous sunrises on front window; kitchen is excellent and well equipped with nice stuff (not like some other Airbnb places with cheap basics in the kitchen). Cabin is beautifully updated, with tasteful decorations and a great wraparound deck on the water. A great shower with hot water from tankless heater. The air heater is loud, so we used mostly small heaters instead.

    Ricardo2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in Erin’s cabin. The windows in the living room and the deck outside were my favorite parts. We saw a seal both days and amazing sun rises. The house is in a cove so the water is pretty calm and easy to paddle board and kayak.

    Michelle2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this cabin and the kayaks!

    Eliza2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Erin’s cabin was so cozy and cute, plus a beautiful, peaceful location directly on the water! The place was spotless and had all of the amenities you need, whether you want to cook your own meals, go kayaking, or just relax and enjoy the quiet, relaxing setting on the huge deck. The outdoor space was also perfect for our 100 lb dog that loves being outside. Highly recommend to anyone!

    Louis2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming and COZY place for a sweet getaway.

    Dahlia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place could not be more charming. Very comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. It was spotlessly clean. The sound of the waves lapping up under the house was a one-of-a-kind experience. It does have winding steps to get down to it, in case accessibility is important to a guest. Hope to go back. Highly recommend.

    Mindi2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing Thanksgiving with my sons and their families including a 23 and 2 month old. It was relaxing and fun and safe for little one to explore. My sons enjoyed the kayaking and we all enjoyed walking in the woods. Had all the cookware to make a full Thanksgiving dinner and room for all around the table. Great memories for all!

    Kathleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't have picked a better weekend getaway location. Right on the water, but close enough to town for any resupplying you might need done. We enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the water and overall couldn't recommend this place more!

  • This is a wonderful gem on Vashon. The tiny forest house has a full small kitchen, a great wood fireplace, comfy bed, and lovely views. The outdoor clawfoot tub is a must! Loved having the chickens and ducks next door. So grateful my small dog is allowed too! Great walk to the beach and gorgeous views too. We hope to come back!

    Erin2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place, gorgeous property. If you’re looking for a rustic lil weekend away, this is the perfect place.

    Bryanna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute tiny cabin near the water, the host was great as well!

    Evan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Lisa's tiny house! It had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We especially enjoyed the wood stove we could use instead of the propane heater. The property grounds were also stunning. Anthony Bourdain filmed a scene from his Seattle episode on the beach here! Vashon has so many great restaurants, breweries (Camp Colvos and Vashon Brewery and cideries (Dragonhead and Nashi Orchards) and is just a short ferry from Seattle. May Kitchen + Bar has amazing Thai food. The Thriftway in town is even better than any grocery store we have in the city. The rental is very close to Maury Island Marine Park and lighthouse as well. We hope to be back for a visit in the summer!

    Michelle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend at Lisa’s. The cabin is full of rustic charm; we especially appreciated the wood stove, and watching the chickens. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to visit again someday!
