A beautiful little thatch roofed barn with stunning views of the Llyn peninsula. The barn is complete with an open plan kitchen/living area a crog loft bedroom with a double bed and small bathroom including a shower. Guests have access to a private decking with gas BBQ.
A traditional cruck framed thatch roofed barn restored using natural and local materials
  • If you want to get away from the grind of daily life, this is for you. The barn is tucked away behind the farmhouse, fenced off for privacy with stunning views of the hills and the Irish Sea. Be prepared for some tight roads on the way in and around the place, but also be prepared for the stunning scenery on your drive to the barn. Hells mouth is a very short drive as is Abersoch. We took prepared food with us but there are local shops on the way in and a Spar just a few minutes drive away. If you're lucky the chickens from next door come out in the morning and sneak under the fence to see whats going on.

  • Amazing setting for a quiet, relaxing break. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Lots of lovely walks right on your doorstop. It’s a beautiful part of the world and the little barn was such a cosy, comfortable place to enjoy it all from. We were sad to leave.

  • We had a very peaceful and happy honeymoon in this beautiful house. Thanks Tom!

  • Brilliant place to stay, great walks in local area and the hosts are perfect, even came out to find us when we got a little bit lost after dark! Would definitely return

  • An amazing little place to go for a weekend! Went with my boyfriend for a late valentines trip and arrived to a spotless, really warm and comfortable space to stay in the cold weather. Has everything you would need to cook your own meals as we did, and tons of information about the surrounding area, although we opted to stay in most of our stay as the February weather wasn’t the best. Really cozy environment, beautifully decorated, and amazing views from outside. We will definitely look at coming back!

    Olivia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication from the host and beautiful location

    Lauren2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is idyllic. We stayed during some truly terrible weather and still had a wonderful time. You definitely need your own means of transportation but it's a great jumping off point for the Llyn Peninsula and beyond.

  • The Little Thatch Barn is a little gem, beautiful location (even in a storm!), lovely surroundings. We could have stayed a lot longer and were sad to leave. We would love to have explored the area further so will have to come back! Lovely comfy bed and everything you could need in the kitchen, good shower and completely private non overlooked space with stunning views, especially from the decking. Just magical.

  • Everyone should have the chance to meet Ivan once in their lives. A very special and unique experince, that we couldn't have found any other place. The ceremonies were amazing and we really connected with Pachamama during our time with Ivan. We learned a lot about the culture and nature which we are so grateful for. Ivan has become not only our tour guide but also our friend :)

  • Lovely place, perfect for two in a brilliant location. We stayed during a big storm but were wonderfully warm and cozy. The space is spotless, lovely furnishings and Barbara is such a nice lady, really helpful - I can’t rate her or her property highly enough

    Clare2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This experience with Ivan was so wonderful! Right away I could see that Ivan had a big heart and was passionate about sharing his gift of connecting with nature. We drove to a small village and hiked for about 20 minutes to a hidden ruins that I would have never seems without Ivan. We decided to add on the cacao ceremony which was so unique and special. I felt very connected to mother nature this day thanks to Ivan's ability to share his gifts. Thank you Ivan!

Comfortable dog friendly retreat in peaceful surroundings, private use of garden with barbeque . Short drive from the beautiful north coast of the Lleyn Peninsula. Coastal path walks (we can offer a drop off/ pick up service). Golf at the famous Nefyn Club. Refreshments at the Ty Coch Inn, Porthdinllaen beach. Excellent food is served locally at The Lion Hotel or enjoy fish and chips in Aberdaron. We provide a microwave, fridge, china, glasses, cutlery, toaster, kettle, tea, coffee and milk.
The Retreat has every thing needed for a comfortable relaxing holiday. It has the look and feel of a beach hut. The beds are made ready for you and we provide towels, (but please bring your own beach towels). We don't provide cooking facilities apart from a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, china, cutlery and glasses. Enough for you to make a simple breakfast or supper. There is a barbecue for your use in the Garden. I am afraid that living in the country is not conducive to a good wifi signal or mobile coverage. We do get some but not very powerful.
We are in a quiet and peaceful area, our neighbors have a dressed crab and lobster business, well worth a visit. Pre ordering is recommended 01758 770397. At the start of our Lane is a unique milking parlour, fascinating to watch when the cows are milked,
  • Beautiful cabin and fantastic scenic location. The hosts are brilliant and included some thoughtful little touches in the cabin. We booked this cabin for our anniversary weekend away; on arrival we received a card and some chocolates from Jane and John, which was really lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here in the tranquil countryside and hope to go back again. Thanks for having us!

    Lewis2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very peaceful warm cosy stay despite the storms. Everything you need and more, lots of thoughtful touches and close drive to lots of amazing beaches.

    Jill2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cosy, friendly spot! It’s very quiet and relaxing surrounded by good views and walks. It’s easy to get to the beaches and towns nearby. There’s all the things you need inside for a proper rest. The hosts are very kind people.

    Clare2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Janes place is lovely. Jane and her husband were very welcoming upon arrival and departure and although they live just across the way you didn't feel as though you were being 'watched'. They left a lovely little care package with milk, bread, fruit and butter which was so helpful and the place was so cosy, warm and even had the heated blanket on the bed. There isn't anywhere walking distance from the house so bear this in mind if you like to have a couple of drinks in an evening but other than that it was fantastic. Beautiful house, location and a welcoming host. Would recommend, very peaceful and excellent value for money.

    Kirsten2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great few days in the cosy chalet which is full of lovely decor and everything needed for our stay. Jane and John, truly are, superhosts who are thoughtful and helpful. Best bed I've ever slept in for sure.

  • This place is a lovely peaceful relaxing place, would be perfect for a summer break in the countryside.we felt at home and the hosts are very friendly.

    Thomas2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The retreat is a lovely, cosy space to call home for our weekend stay. Jane met us outside when we parked up and gave us a little tour of the “beach hut”. It was lovely and cosy and Jane had put the electric blankets on our beds! There was a basket of goodies, and a vase of fresh flowers - lovely little touches. During the night there was colossal rainfall. Early in the morning john was out with his shovel ensuring everything was kept dry. Unfortunately, the rain had washed a large amount of gravel into the lane which meant I would have been unable to get out to the photography course I had booked. John came to the rescue and gave me a lift in his 4 x4 and picked me up later which was above and beyond. He also gave my parents a lift down and told them a circular walk they could do. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away from it all.

    Rachael2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • It’s the second time we’ve stayed here and it was just as great as before! Jane and John are superb hosts and the retreat is so warm and cosy. Comfy beds, super shower, flowers and a welcome bag of breakfast goodies (plus bowls for our dog) make you feel right at home. The perfect place to escape and relax in a beautiful setting. Can’t wait to return!

The roundhouse is a beautifully crafted, cosy hideaway with simple, basic comforts. You sleep under a thick thatch roof on a comfortable double bed with storage drawers beneath, there's a small wood fired earth oven - fireplace for the colder months, there's a reading light and an electrical socket. Its small and cosy inside and full of character. You'll hear the sound of a trickling stream beneath the balcony , the soft hooting of owls in the night and the birdsong in the thickets about you.
its a cosy , intimate room suitable either for a single person or couple or friends wishing to enjoy a simple, natural lifestyle in beautiful rural surroundings for a few relaxing days. Its for people who love to be immersed in nature, the countryside and its wildlife. You can use the basic bath and small kitchen in the nearby shared farmhouse 300 yds away
The Llyn Peninsula is a treasure trove of small coves , ancient heathered hillforts, narrow county lanes and coastal villages- some quiet and others bustling with visitors and beach life during the summer. You'll hear locals speaking their native Welsh lanuage in shops, pubs, schools and workplaces. Its a friendly area with a close knit community, everyone knows each other for miles around. When the weather is good there's swimming, walking the beautiful coastal path, fishing and enjoying the outdoor cafes ....when its stormy there's great surfing ! The grandeur of the Snowdonia mountain range is about an hour's drive to the east . Westward - there is a small boat that will take you to Ynys Enlli - porth y nef - gateway to heaven - a small island 2 miles offshore home to angels and wildlife. You'll get an idea of what life is like at the centre here through watching a short slideshow called "Felin Uchaf Volunteers 2016" on Youtube
  • Wonderful time here! Basic but a much-loved respite from the big city, with some gorgeous star gazing on a clear night. It was an impressive roundhouse in traditional design, and comfortable and cozy once we got the fire going. There was electricity, including a kettle and a desk lamp, and the roundhouse is otherwise lit up by cute tea lights and the oven fire. Firewood is provided for the first night, which was much appreciated as we arrived late in the dark! As there is no shower in the roundhouse or in the main house, I had a squat-shower using the bathtub sink in the main farmhouse, which was fine and give us a nice chance to chat to some of the volunteers and other visitors. Everything was easy to find and very clearly labelled/sign-posted. This is not for you if: you want a convenient hot shower, you can't stand bugs (we had a couple spiders appear), you don't want to risk walking a few minutes in the dark to the toilet at night (as the outhouse is down a semi-forested path). This is for you if: you want a peaceful stay out in the country, you want a bit of adventure and can deal with semi-roughing it up with basic facilities, particularly if you have a car and want to explore the surrounding areas (my favourite was walking up to the lookout on the far end of Llyn peninsula).

  • A stunning setting and beautiful accommodation. A peaceful hideaway and surrounded by nature - the perfect place to get away from daily stresses. There are amazing walks around the coast and stunning beaches to watch the sun set. The pizza oven was a real treat and the thatched roof, wooden beams and comfy bed made for a very cosy sleep.

    Rob2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the best experience we had in the UK. Menter Y Felin Uchaf is an experience that we would recommend to anyone. We would have been happy to have stayed here for our entire tour of the UK. There is a real magic going on here and a lot of that comes from the host Dafydd. His work and hospitality is truly inspiring.

    Steven2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time to the small roundhouse and the fourth to the centre. We absolutely love it to unwind. The new addition of a chiminea made it even more relaxing. What can I say simply special!

  • A late booking as camping not an option due to weather forecast. What a find. For us this one of the most beautiful few days away anywhere we've been in the world. As a maker I was overwhelmed by the creativity and flair in both the accomodation and site. Soul food in tranquil surrounding for anyone wanting to be grounded in basic yet inspured comfortable accomodation.

  • This was the perfect birthday get away for myself and my boyfriend. The place was warm and cosy in a beautiful landscape, even through the thunderstorms! Davies gave the best suggestions for local walks and we thoroughly enjoyed the story telling. Can’t wait to come back soon.

  • Very clean and cosy with stunning views. Feels secluded and safe with everything you could need in the town centre, just a few minutes away. Despite the heavy wind and rain at night, it felt like a secure and comfortable place to be.

  • A lovely place to stay.

    Helen2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was extremely clean and well-presented. Ideal for a couple for a short break. Lovely and warm.

  • My husband and I, with our 2 dogs, stayed for 2 nights during Storm Dennis. This was a lovely property, tastefully decorated, clean and spotless. We felt very cosy and safe while the storm raged outside. The yard was gated and safe to let the dogs roam for a last wee before bed. Sharon and her husband were very friendly and helpful and responded quickly to any messages I sent. There were some lovely personal touches in the house and a few necessities in the fridge for us. Pwllheli town was about a 3 minute walk downhill. The Mitre pub was dog friendly and full of friendly local characters. The station cafe served a cracking breakfast with free bowls of sausages for the pups. The beach was about a 15 minute walk; clean, sandy, very long and great for dog walks (not sure if they are allowed on in summer though). We would definitely stay again.

    Sally2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately I didn’t get to visit due to unforeseen circumstances, but Sharon was kind enough to allow my son and his girlfriend take my place at late notice. They had a lovely evening and really enjoyed their stay. They had everything they needed. Really easy communication throughout. Would recommend.

    Andrew2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

  • “The Dog” cottage was absolutely perfect. From the quaint wooden beams to warming underfloor heating, everything is covered for a cosy stay in Wales. We also loved the spa. We both had full body massages and used the hot tub, which despite the horrible weather, was fantastic! We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone. The hosts were so attentive and responded so quickly to any of our needs. We also loved Jax! Gorgeous dog!

  • Lovely little cottage, great host and the hot tub was a lovely extra too.

    Gabby2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Dog House cottage and loved every minute of it! Immaculately kept with exceptionally welcoming hosts, we spent our time in the hot tub, exploring the huge range of castles in North Wales or curled up in front of the fire place. The Cottage itself is cozy yet spacious, easy to warm up with the log fire place and with a comfortable bedroom with en-suite modern bathroom. It is a short walk over to the hot tub but there are changing rooms in the spa if you don’t fancy doing the walk in swim wear. Jax the dog is very friendly and roams the farm looking for friends! We can recommend it enough and look forward to staying again.

This stunning Celtic Roundhouse is a beautifully crafted, rustic, camping style bunkhouse that easily sleeps up to 5 people on comfortable single mattresses raised on a circular wooden bench that runs around the interior. Its great for family or friends who just want to spend some quiet time together in a beautiful remote, natural setting exploring some of the UK's best coastline. There's a compost loo & washbasin nearby but no shower. Guests will need to bring their own sheets or sleeping bags
Staying at roundhouse is a totally unique experience - you step right back into a different epoch. Its for people who like to be immersed in nature and wildlife. The roundhouse measures a spacious 5 meters internal diameter and has ample storage chest spaces underneath the raised mattresses, Its basic - with a small electric portable radiator heating for the colder months , LED overhead reading lights over 3 of the beds and an electrical socket and a central glass framed candle lamp for soft lighting. We supply 5 single mattresses with mattress covers, duvets with covers & pillows with cotton pillow cases. When you arrive there will be a 5 litre thermos flask of boiling hot water for tea, coffee or washing and cold water tank. You can easily refill them from the farmhouse kitchen . We provide enough firewood for one evening's fire in the outside fire-circle seating area
The Llyn Peninsula is a treasure trove of small coves , ancient ,heathered hillforts, narrow county lanes and coastal villages- some quiet and others bustling with visitors and beach life during the summer. You'll hear locals speaking their native Welsh language in shops, pubs, schools and workplaces. Its a friendly area with a close knit community, everyone knows each other for miles around. • This is a fantastic place to stay. It is full of character and charm. We stayed in September and it was cool at night so we were glad we brought sleeping bags to use in addition to the duvets provided. It was great cooking around the fire. Lovely beaches nearby.

    Sarah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rather unusual, but delightful accommodation. Posh camping, maybe? But better than that. The buildings are completely different than anything we normally see these days, but fit perfectly into their surroundings. Simple, but enough in the room - lights, mattresses and duvets, kettle. Toilet and car park are a little walk away. The site is very "back to nature", and highly recommended to have a look at the other buildings and development work going on at the charity. If you're expecting a five star hotel then you'll be very disappointed. Wanting to live in the outdoors under a thatched roof and woken to the birds singing then you'll be right at home.

    Matthew2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! I loved it! We are thinking of the teachers having time out here on the summer break! Thank you

    Nicki2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We have just left the roundhouse and WOW just wow. We had a great time and it most definitely exceeded our expectations! There was more in the house than we expected, there is cutlery, a kettle, washing up equipment, pots, pans, towels, pillows, blankets, a lighter, hot water bottles...pretty endless list! It was just great. We took some sleeping bags....NOT NEEDED. The weather has been pretty great but even so, it was cool on a night. The Roundhouse was rather warm and extremely cosy! We had use of a fire pit that had everything you could need for BBQ style cooking. You can buy bags of logs for £2.50 if you run out! We went to the story telling evening, which we are glad we did. You can get a hot drink and some cake half way through. There was a fire pit there for the kids to toast marshmallows. Davies was lovely and very helpful, giving us tips and advice on where to go and what to see. If you have children this is an experience you must try! We will be returning again no doubt. If i haven't sold it to you....i just asked my daughter (age 11) what was her best and worst bits... Best bit...."All of ot" Worst bit..."leaving" We can't wait to visit again and will be recommending it to all our friends and family :)

  • We had a lovely and comfortable stay at Jeans place. We were welcomed by Jean, given the keys and the privacy to enjoy the space. We are familiar to this area however Jean provided us with helpful recommendations and guidance for our stay. The place was spotless clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the welsh cakes! It is what it says on the tin. Thanks Jean!

  • Enjoyed a lovely stay with Mair and Dave. Excellent hospitality at their lovely cottage which is like a little oasis set in lovely gardens in a quiet spot - yet just a few minutes drive from Pwllheli and within walking distance of the beach. The room and en suite were very comfortable, clean, quiet, and private - lovely. And fantastic breakfasts beautifully presented.

From nice local walks, close proximity to beach's, close to Snowdown and a short walk to one of the best train rides in the country (hop on at Aberech, go to Barmouth). Not to mention their incredible garden which is great for little ones and adults too! Mair and Dave take a lot of pride in offering their guests a great stay, and really look after you.

  • Expect friendly greeting, hosts who are really interesting, and interested in you. Lovely setting, beautiful garden, first class breakfast after sleeping in very good bed. Highly recommended.

  • We cant recommend Mair and Dave’s place highly enough. We’ve just returned home from a truly lovely 3 day break. As expected everywhere was sparkly clean. The photos didn’t quite do this lovely home justice, we felt, so we were pleasantly surprised. Mair certainly earns the title of ‘Super host’. Super-duper host we’d say! They couldn’t do enough for us and our dog Dylan. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Llay Peninsula. Lovely walks, sandy beaches, shopping and good food. We hope to return in the future. Thanks again for a memorable break x

  • A very comfortable place to stay, we were snug as rain and wind lashed. A great place for a relaxing break.

  • Amazing location! This property is in the middle of nowhere so if you’re expecting great phone reception - don’t. This is the perfect place to reconnect and spend time with loved ones without technology! Ann was a great host and left us sausages, Welsh cakes and local beers. It had all kitchen supplies needed to make yourself a great breakfast. Really stylish furniture in the living space as well especially for an old cottage. She gave us great recommendations on where to go locally. The shower isn’t great as it goes from burning hot to really cold, but it was a great place to spend a weekend.

    Hannah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing real cozy country cottage in a breathtaking place. Everything you need is provided. After a busy day sightseeing it was a pleasure to come back to. Just an add on the bed is SO comfortable!!!!!!!!

    Judith2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing stay, the hosts are a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome. The little touches such as the fresh Sausages, Eggs, and local beer impressed us, they also all tasted amazing. The quirky interior of the property also impressed us, the living room has a tall ceiling, with a lovely colour, providing a traditional cottage feel. We landed very late in the evening due to traffic on the way, as much as I can imagine this was an inconvenience to our hosts (sorry again), they still made us feel very welcome. The kitchen is packed with everything you would need, and there is a really good Spar supermarket close by which stocked some really good products/fresh produce. Without a doubt, we would return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The project to convert the Pigsty in 2016 kept us busy to say the least but we're very happy with the way it turned out! The pigsty is perfect for couples and is dog friendly. Heated by a huge 12KW wood burning stove with a modern bathroom and kitchen, satellite TV, DVD player and in-ceiling speakers, oh and there's limited wi-fi if the wind is blowing in the right direction!
Converted pigsty, really is different to anything else you'll come across!
    Very rural area.
  • Very cosy when you get the wood burner going. Quiet location not too far from any of the beaches. Enjoyed our short break very much.

    Gwyn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and the cottage was really nice!

    Lowri2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Pigsty is a lovely place to get away from everything! Perfect for 2 with enough room for a dog too. The log burner heats the place up nicely but comfy warm pyjamas for the next morning definitely come in handy. We felt like we’d completely gotten away from everything even though the location is great being only a short drive to the coast in pretty much all directions for some lovely walks. We had the best little weekend get away so thank you!

  • We had a lovely stay at the Pigsty, lovely views and surroundings. Very cold, but to be expected around this time of year - the log burner was great to use! Pryderi was really helpful with directions and we appreciated the local brochures and walking tips. Ideal stay for a peaceful break!

Llithfaen is a small village on the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd. It is located around 3 miles north east of Nefyn and lies just south west of Yr Eifl mountains on the B4417 road from Llanaelhaearn to Nefyn. Llithfaen is one of the highest villages on the Peninsula this gives the village some of the best views around, right across Cardigan bay to the south and across the hills further along the peninsula to the south west. Llithfaen has a strong community spirit and is very proud of its welsh heritage and welsh language as over 70% of people on the peninsula speak welsh as a first language every day, and there is a welsh language and heritage center Nant Gwrtheryn just up the road 2 miles well worth a visit. Two businesses in the village are run by the community The Tafarn y fic pub, and the village shop Siop Pen y Groes sells your every day essentials. There used to be three quarries close to the village the last of which Chwarel Carreg y Llam closed in 1963. The highest point on the Llyn (spectacular views) Yr Eifl, this iconic mountain comprises three peaks, on the third summit of Yr Eifl stands the ancient hill fort of Tre Ceiri this fort is said to be one of the most inpressive monument in Wales, on a clear day the views from Yr Eifl summit are awesome, there is sea surrounding the Llyn Peninsula, to the south Cardigan bay to the north Caernarfon bay, and to the west the Irish sea, the east view is of the mountains of snowdonia and on a clear day the view from the top are extensive and you will see over to Ireland.

  • Such a lovely stay. John has thought of everything which makes this place a home from home. Really cosy space with everything a couple could need for a break in wales, we loved coming back after a long day of exploring wales to this cosy, well decorated annexe. The parking space was great. Would recommend the cliffs pub about 10 minute walk away and the ship which is about 15 minute walk away, great meals in both. Lovely 20 minute walk to the ty coch in also. Really great base for exploring Wales.

Pamela made us feel very welcome and even left some welshcakes and wine as a gift. Great location only 5-10 mins drive from some beautiful beaches. Great find and a comfortable stay.

  • Lovely accommodation in an idyllic setting. The house was well equipped and spotless. The views were amazing and there were stunning walks from the doorstep. I stayed here for a couple of days recharging with my dog and found it to be perfect for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and would love to visit again with my husband. The hosts were welcoming and attentive and Pam was prompt with replying to questions before I arrived. All mod cons with the peace of the countryside and the seaside on your doorstep. A winning combination.

  • We have just returned from a lovely few days away. The house is very well equipped and there were lots of thoughtful touches such as cake on arrival and milk in the fridge. Lorraine2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely week’s stay at Y Bwthyn (family of four - children aged 2 and 8 months). The cottage was cosy and well equipped with everything we needed - we did a fair bit of cooking for the two children and didn’t want for anything. The little touches such as the cake, fizz etc were lovely and made us feel all the more welcome. The hosts, Michelle and David, struck the perfect balance between being friendly and informative without being intrusive and we followed a number of their recommendations as to beaches / places to eat. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the area - very close to Abersoch but also only a short drive to Morfa Nefyn, whilstling sands etc. We will definitely be back!

  • A lovely long weekend away. The cottage is cosy and comfortable with all the amenities. The location was great, close to the ship inn and a short walk to the beach. • I would highly recommend Y Gweithdy as a peaceful and comfortable place to stay. We spent 2 days in the area walking the coast paths, and the bunkhouse made the ideal base. It is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. It was lovely to meet Gillian, who kindly left us fresh milk and bread, as well as giving advice about the local area. Many thanks Gillian and we hope to be back in the future :)

    Elsa2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Super kind Gillian gave great suggestions about the local town, where to get food (she runs the bakery in town too) and as we had walked for miles to get there, even offered to take our bags to the house for us! Accommodation as described, room 2 is the best as the only one with ensuite shower and toilet. A perfect stay for the Welsh Coastal Walk, as it's 2 miles from Aberdaron and right near the path.

Owl Cottage is near to our 16th century farmhouse in an idyllic peaceful location. Fully renovated this year. It has a combination oven/microwave, hob, fridge with freezer compartment, constant boiling water tap, granite worktops and all small appliances. It has a TV, log burner, bed settee and hot tub. There is an upstairs bedroom and en-suite shower room. The hot tub is in a private walled patio area. It is adjacent to open countryside. DOG FRIENDLY with own dedicated walking area.
Owl Cottage is at the bottom of a long tree lined driveway. The River Soch runs about 100 metres behind the cottage. We are situated in an Area of Outstanding Beauty and the wildlife is amazing. We breed black alpacas and often have alpaca babies (crias) around the place who are very nosy! It is very private and you can relax in the evening in the hot tub or simply sit on the patio listening to the birds with a glass of something chilled! Alternatively, on a winter's evening you can relax in front of the log burning stove. We are a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive into Abersoch village and we have a wonderful dog friendly pub called the Sun Inn a mile away which has an extensive menu with regular specials and occasionally have music and folk evenings. You can easily access the Welsh Coastal Path which has walks of various lengths which are wonderful to walk all year round with stunning sea views.
Owl Cottage is situated close to our 16th century farmhouse and has been fully renovated this year. We breed black alpacas and often have alpaca babies (crias) around the place. Owl Cottage is in the picturesque village of Llangian with St Cian's 13th century church with its churchyard dating back to 550ad and its little well stocked village shop where Eluned and Rhys are happy to chat to you. There is the Sun Inn pub at Llanengan which is only a mile away and is very easy to walk to, it has an extensive menu and dogs are welcome in the bar. Llangian is only 1 1/2 miles from the attractive harbour village of Abersoch, 5 minutes by car and 30 minute walk. This area is renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking especially along the coastal paths. Abersoch, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales. Numerous shops, including Jack Wills, Crew Clothing, Joules, Fat Face to name a few cater for the tourist as well as a good selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside Abersoch village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth) which is a mile from the cottage. The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad (Hells Mouth), with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
  • Our stay there was fabulous, the cottage is absolutely gorgeous with thoughtful little touches. Upon arrival we was greeted with Prosecco and treats, the cottage was extremely clean and smelt amazing. A speaker was left for us and a card game which we thoroughly enjoyed! The bed was extremely comfy and the hot tub was fantastic. The location of the cottage is also great, not too far from the centre. Would recommend this place and would definitely go back.

    Allisha2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at Owl Cottage and would highly recommend it if you're looking for a cosy and modern cottage near Abersoch. The interior is well looked after and the little touches such as the scented candles, comfy furnishings and log burner made it a pleasure to stay in when we visited Wales during Storm Jorge! Add to that the great hot tub area and it makes it hard to leave Owl Cottage, but make sure you do as theres so many lovely walks to do along the coastal paths. Our highlights were the meal we had in the mexican restaurant (Manana) in Abersoch and the walk we did to Ty Coch Inn, even in all that wind it was a sheltered cove that was even warm enough to sit outside and have a drink. I'm sure we will return in the future and thank you Angie for being such a great host.

    Verity2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little place to stay. We came for quiet relaxation with our dog and we couldn’t have asked for more. The use of space within the cottage is brilliant, it has everything you need. There were lovely little touches such as beautiful flowers on the table, a detailed welcome book and books about local walks and activities. If you want a quiet place to relax and enjoy the countryside, this is the one! We would definitely come back!

    Rikki2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful area, so quiet, private and peaceful. Beautiful modern cottage, so clean and the WiFi was brilliant! The hot tub is so lovely, my partner and I had the best few days staying at Owl Cottage. Unfortunately our car broke down while we were there and they helped us out with no questions asked and dropped us back to our car once it was fixed! Highly Recommended, thank-you very much!

    Nina2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant stay here, lovely little cottage, Hot Tub was ready on arrival, Prosecco chilled in the fridge, a short well to the beach, great for a couples getaway!

    Will2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks a lot for being a welcoming, knowledgeable and conscientious host. Before arrival we were sent detailed directions to the cottage, which we would have been lost without - literally! The keys were easy to access and we were greeted with a warm, inviting cottage and a lovely bottle of prosecco in the fridge - a nice surprise. Angie also provided lots of useful information on the surrounding areas: restaurants, walks etc., which helped us have an enjoyable stay. If we ever return to Abersoch we will be looking to stay here, and I will be recommending the cottage to both my family and friends.

    Matt2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a great location. The hosts were excellent at communicating and ironed out any minor issues immediately. The hot tub is wonderful and we had a lovely stay. The ONLY negative I have for this cottage is the sofa bed (I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it, it's very uncomfortable) but the main bed was very comfy! Thank you for a fab stay x

  • We had a fantastic stay, the flat was great, clean and homely. Superb location for exploring beaches

  • We chose Pen Y Berthan as a base for our reminiscent trip to Tudweiliog (first time in almost 30 years), as the alternative was The Lion B&B close by and this was way over our budget. Price aside, this was a great choice as we found a really comfortable place to stay and unwind for a few days. I was travelling with my older parents and it was a perfect spot for us. Very short walk to the post office (and shop) and The Lion pub for lovely food and a few glasses of Eliot's Winter Warmer! Even my dad with Parkinson's and dementia could manage to walk it. We brought our own food (cooked breakfast items, fajita box and ingredients, picnic-style snacks) and only ate out twice as the self-catering facilities were top notch. Bit of a squeeze to get our legs under the dining table, but was only a minor problem for my dad. Sitting room was so cosy - having the electric fire on with the doors open heated the whole apartment in no time at all. DVD player built into the TV. Bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom, too is nicely done out and did the job. We successfully found our old caravan site nearby and took a few jaunts to Phwllheli, Morfa Nefyn and Abersoch in the car. The rest of the time we simply relaxed in the apartment - something we wouldn't have been able to do in a hotel. It truly felt like a home from home. Bethan, the host, was quick to respond to my questions and communications and she was kind enough to offer us a late check-out on the day we left. I would love to revisit and do some proper walking in the area - The Llyn peninsula really is a beautiful part of the UK.

  • I was here as a photographer exploring the Llyn Peninsula for a week on a bit of a budget and I couldn't have been happier with my stay. It's situated in a great location. Photographing surfing and mountain landscapes they were both on my door step. Superb hosting from Megan, a lovely woman who has lived in the area most of her life. She is just great, full of stories and advice on where to go. Highly recommended.

  • Highly recommended. Nice and clean house. Beautiful scenic view from the rooms. Specially the grandmother was so kind and helpful. I would not book any other place in snowdonia than this house.

  • What a perfect place to stay. Even better than my comfy huge room was my host Megan; the matriarch of the area. Like other guests I fell in love with her and hope to see her again. Many Thanks Megan and Owen for a super stay.

    John2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was lovely and was an unobtrusive yet present host. The house is in a lovely part of Wales and, if you don't mind being away from the busy areas around Caernarfon and Abersoch, then this is just great, especially for the price.

Great to have the large TV and Netflix and the outdoor space was very lovely too. First time in Nefyn and found it stunning. Am slightly in love now and want to return again! Lovely sunny winter coastal path walk to the Ty Coch Inn ( as suggested by other reviews here .. wonderful!)

  • Highly recommended - great communication, lovely clean and tidy caravan with spacious living area and balcony, in a beautiful site with lots of facilities.

    Janet2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at Hafan y Mor many times as it is a lovely park with great beaches nearby and only an hour from home. This is definitely the best caravan we have ever stayed in on the park. Plenty of room for 2 families with a lovely outside seating area. Spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. Wasn’t expecting quilts and pillows to be provided but they were. Tracey was super responsive, we had 1 minor maintenance issue which we didn’t really expect to be fixed over the weekend, but was sorted within an hour. Perfect location right close to the revamped kids’ play area, seconds away from the mini market, sports dome and pub. Also, not too close to the next caravans which they sometimes are. All in all, a 10/10 stay for a family with kids. We’ll definitely try and stay here again next time we’re planning a trip! Thank you Tracey

  • Lovely location, nice and peaceful if you are looking for a bit of a retreat away from all the hustle & bustle of city life. Food in the local pubs and surroundings areas were very good and there is so much to explore when you are there. Would recommend even if you live in Wales (which I do), there are parts you probably wouldn't necessarily go to. Ann herself is a great host, with a lovely dog as well, which was very friendly! Overall, 10/10.

  • Ann’s place is small but the view makes it seem larger. Nice coffee and cake for the mornings and everything was very comfortable. With the private entrance and bath it’s nearly a private apartment, and Ann was friendly and nice. Also, good walking paths and a decent pub nearby.

  • Ann offers a great stay for a weekend getaway! Although the space being small it feels very cozy and is well-taken care off with thoughtful details. The garden at the back is adorable and adds to your stay! We had a big delay for our check in and really appreciate how understanding and helpful Ann has been. Thanks Ann!
