Places to stay in Kilfenora
Situated 4.2 km from Doolin and 3 km from Lisdoonvarna. On the door step to the burren and short distance from Cliffs of Moher. 63 km to Shannon Airport. 14 km from Lahinch Golf Club.
Traditional Irish cottage newly renovated. Modern Kitchen fully fitted. Solid fuel and underfloor central oil heating. The cottage is cosy and comfortable summer and winter.
My closest neighbor is 500 meters away facing east, you will see him passing on his tractor (red zetor tractor). Again 500 meters facing west is my neighbor who is the local postman.
  • Maria was an amazing host while I was there, she offered suggestions on places to go and made breakfast in the morning! It was also just very pleasant to sit down and talk for awhile. I would definitely go back!

  • Liam and Maria are fantastic hosts. Driving in from Dublin, our arrival time wasn’t definite and they were very patient and accommodating as well as communicative with us. Upon arrival, they both kindly welcomed us and showed us our accommodations. They got to know us both a bit better and made suggestions as to what we could do in the area during our short stay. We ended up following their suggestions and were not disappointed - they are a wealth of knowledge. The next morning, they prepared a delicious Irish breakfast that had us going strong until the later part of the evening. If I’m in this area again, I’ll definitely be looking to Maria and Liam for lodging. Do yourself a favor: book with these two and you won’t regret it one bit.

  • This place is a hidden treasure in the rolling hills of Clare. We were welcomed with a typical Irish warmth and it was simply fantastic staying here. Secluded yet close enough to both Doolin and Lisdoonvarna, it is ideally placed for Match Making and hiking! Only 9km to the Cliffs of Moher makes it a perfect spot to stay on your way up or down the Wild Atlantic Way. This cottage is a gem and we even said we would love to buy it if it ever came on the market. Snap up this place and just make the most of this true West Irish experience.

  • A cosy little room which was just what we needed for a quick one-night stay in January. John spent a few minutes with us listing places to go and eat dinner in Ennistymon and Lahinch. This was very helpful as Kilfenora is very quiet at this time of year. Would highly recommend!

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfy place. John is very welcoming. He took the time to explain everything well and put us in awe. Give advice on attractions to do in the area and answer all our questions.

  • We really liked Marian. We were warmly welcomed by her with bread, butter, local salmon and apple pie and she gave us some tips on what to do in the area. The nights in the trailer were very cold, but Marian provided us with plenty of blankets and a hot water bottle. We also got to know her husband John and her son Mat, and they were also extremely friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend the property, if only because of the hospitality of the family and the incredible views. We really enjoyed staying at Marians accommodation. Bread, butter, local salmon and applepie were given a lot of tips on what to do in the area. The nights in the trailer were very cold but Marian provided us with plenty of blankets and a hot water bottle. We met her husband John and her son Mar who were so very friendly and helpful. We can absolutely recommend the accommodation because of the great hospitality and the stunning view.

  • Sparkling clean mobile home. Close to Kilfenora village which has a shop, pubs and restaurants. Next door is the local GAA field which was nice to have to kick a ball around. Marian was a fab host. Brought us salmon and bread as a welcome. Mobile home has been kept well. Equipped with all the basics and some good extras such as a cafeteria pot. No tv but as I had read the Wi-Fi wasn't very strong, we brought our own wifi router. Overall, a great base to tour Co Clare from.

  • Ballyshanny Lodge is a wonderful, cozy space with absolutely fantastic hosts! The location is ideal and walking distance to the village. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is stocked. The welcome gift of eggs, scones (and more) as well as probably the best lemon cake in the world, was such a lovely surprise! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future. Many thanks!

  • Lovely space. Spotlessly clean. John is super friendly and a great host. Thank you for looking after us. We will definitely be back next time we're in Clare.

  • The cottage is very cosy, especially because of the stove. The kitchen is well equipped. Cooking simple dishes is no problem at all. John and Catriona were very helpful and gave us some great tips. Not a single wish remains unsatisfied! We can only warmly recommend this accommodation to everyone.

    Julia2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • John was an amazing host! He provided us with so many great tips of the area as well as very detailed directions for a more scenic route when we were leaving his place. The accommodations were perfect. It was so nice to have a kitchenette for making breakfasts in the morning. Highly recommend staying here.

    Emily2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • John and Catriona were superlative hosts. They provided a beautiful space, homemade scones and other treats, and helpful local recommendations for places to hear music and eat. We also really appreciated their "above and beyond" thoughtfulness in anticipating our needs by lending us an extra walking stick and rain pants so we were able to hike confidently in The Burren on a possibly rainy day (fortunately the rain held off) without slipping and sliding.

    Helene2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay with john and Catriona . Cakes and coffee welcomed our arrival . Fantastic location close to Kilfenoria. Amazing apartment. Very comfortable bed. And wonderful scenery. We would highly recommend and would love to return

  • This little house is great! Everything you need is in the house. Two friendly cats and a dog are there but they don't bother you. The house is clean and even a washing machine is in the kitchen. We recommend this house. And you get a lot of info too if you like.

    Marianne2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem. Great location, plenty of excellent walks nearby and John had lots of suggestions. There were lovely personal touches like homemade scones, flapjacks and free range eggs. This stunning, beautifully renovated shed is a self contained studio attached to our own listed property, however the studio has its own separate entrance. We are fortunate to have lake and sea views in the heart of the countryside. Thanks to recent renovation "the shed" is cosy and toasty warm, the perfect base to explore the area and generally relax.
The studio has a fully functioning bathroom, a day bed that turns into a very comfortable double bed due to the quality mattresses with memory foam toppers. We have tea and coffee making facilities available in the room however there isn't the use of a kitchen.
We are about 10 minutes drive from the picturesque village of Ennistimon and a 2 minute drive Kilfenora. Kilfenora has a beautiful pub/restaurant and Ennistimon has many good places to eat including the acclaimed "Little Fox" and the fab creperie "Ohh Lá Lá" amongst many others. We are only 15-20 minutes drive from the Cliffs of Moher and we are situated right at the edge of the Burren with many beautiful walks and hikes literally on the doorstep.
  • Bronagh & Silas were the best hosts! The shed is absolutely adorable & has everything you could need! It was a great stay & we loved everything about it!

    Lindsey2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved our stay in The Shed! The location was great and the views from the shed are amazing. It’s a very stylish, comfortable space, well equipped with a mini kitchen for your morning coffee. We stayed here during a storm and the space was so cosy! It was very easy to communicate with the hosts, and the little touches like fresh baked pastries in the morning made our stay really enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to friends, and would love to stay here again some time.

    Shirley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The small Bronagh accommodation is perfect if you are looking for a little corner of the Irish countryside. The welcome is very warm and attentive and the accommodation unique! We spent two wonderful days there. The region is also very beautiful.

    Antoine2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Bronagh’s place is a beautiful haven in an idyllic setting that is made for relaxing. Bronagh has a great sense of style, she has created a space that is a cool blend of modern and rustic all centred around an amazing view. Everything was spotless and well laid out to maximise the footprint, we thought the fold out bed was both clever use of space and truly comfy. As described in the listing this is not a self catering place but that was perfect for us, there’s some fab places to eat within a 10 - 15 min drive in Ennistimon and Lahinch. All the amenities we needed were there, including wifi, lovely plunger coffee, and a shower with excellent water pressure. Bronagh and her partner were lovely hosts - warm, kind, and full of helpful info on the local area. They were on hand for any questions but totally respected our privacy too. Then there were the gorgeous homemade pastries they gave us each morning! Just amazing. Location wise this was the perfect place to base ourselves from to explore the west coast. In about a 15 - 20 min drive we were in Doolin and began our walk to the Cliffs of Moher. Although we didn’t get a chance to explore it, the burren is also right there. Overall our stay at Bronagh’s was a favourite part of our trip. Enjoying a coffee and pastry in bed whilst looking out onto the hills and water below was just magic. Thanks for making our first Irish road trip an amazing one guys!!

Enjoy a stay in your private garden-view room with your own bathroom! It is a modern house with pubs, restaurants and cafés in easy walking distance. From here, you can explore the Atlantic coast, the Aran Islands, the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher & much more! Immerse yourself in the culture of the Irish west coast.
I offer a guest room with its own private bathroom just for your own use. My Wifi is very fast and always on. The room has a single bed (with a cosy electric blanket!), and looks out onto the garden, so it is very quiet at night. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and showerhead, towels, soap, shower gels, shampoos, tooth paste and hairdryer. You can relax in the garden, or watch your favourite series on your device with a nice cup of tea - or coffee :-) ... I'm greening my place... ... with biodegradable cleaning products .... with an under-the-counter filter for the water, so there is no need to buy single-use plastic bottles ... with a compost bin ... with separating rubbish and a recycling system in place. The house is located in a residential area just off the market square of Lisdoonvarna, a town on the edge of a unique area called the Burren and very close to the Cliffs of Moher. It is a 2 minute walk to the bus station (Bus Eireann, route 350 also servicing the Doolin and the ferry pier to Aran Islands, Cliff of Moher, Lahinch, Ballyvaughan - all lovely destinations). By car, it's only 10 min. to the sea and Doolin, 45 min. to Ennis, 50 min. to Shannon Airport, and max 1.5 hours to Galway. If you come by car/motorbike: The best way to travel in Ireland (unless you are staying in big cities only) is renting a car. This enables you to discover all the hidden, magical corners of the Emerald Isle. There is no car hire in Lisdoonvarna, best way to get a car is at the arrival airport. Off-street parking around the corner, (motor)bikes can be safely parked in the garden. Travel by public transport: Bus Eireann offers a more or less regular bus service from Galway, Ennis and Limerick, please see their website for timetable. It is possible to take the bus to Doolin (ferry to Aran Islands), the Cliffs of Moher, beachy Lahinch and the quaint market town of Ennistymon. I'm in easy walking distance to the amenities of Lisdoonvarna. Pubs which in summer provide evening entertainment from traditional to contemporary music, as well as restaurants and cafés are just a few hundred metres away from my house. One of the pubs, the Roadside Tavern, offers their own lager, red ale and stout which are brewed by the owner of the pub in the pub itself! Extremely tasty and definitely worth a tasting. Also, there are traditional music sessions on every night in summer. County Clare's biggest salmon smokehouse and two different visitor centres (Burren Smokehouse) is one of the main attractions in town. Local amenities comprise grocery stores and a butcher, a pharmacy, a church, a surgery, a riding stable, local walking guides etc. I can point you towards experiences that are after your own taste, be if food-related, walking, spiritual experiences, history etc. which are off the beaten track. Ireland's only spa in its beautiful Victorian building has been reopened to the public this summer and is also well worth a visit. The Doolin Caves are only a 5 to 10 min drive away and feature one of the biggest stalactites in the world (6 m long hanging from the cave ceiling!). Doolin also offers ferry rides to the Aran Islands during the summer months, and s Cliff cruise along the majestic Cliffs of Moher. Great ideas for a day trip! To see pictures from the west of Ireland and my area, the Burren and Ireland in general, search for "Karin Funke Redbubble". You can have a lovely stroll from my house in the evening to wind down and let the day's memories sink in. Wifi is available in the house if you bring your own device. The three resident cats are affectionate and docile. They are open to bribery (but nothing smoked or sugary, and no pork, please!). As they are cats, and as such notoriously curious, I would recommend keeping your door closed if you don't want them visiting. I am trying hard to keep them out of the guest space, but sometimes it is inevitable that there might be a few cat hairs. There is no cash machine (ATM) in Lisdoonvarna, the nearest is in Ennistymon, 15 min. by car south of Lisdoonvarna. So it would be advisable to stock up on money before you get here.
I live in a quiet neighbourhood which is nonetheless very close to the square and all the shops, pubs, restaurants and the café. Actually you can see the square from my house. At the same time, going the other way, there is a lovely valley where you can walk, or reach the sea in just 10 minutes by car. The world-famous Cliffs of Moher are only a 20 min drive away, and the Burren (an amazing limestone area) are very close, too. You can also do day trips to the Aran Islands, as the ferries to the islands go from Doolin, a 15 min drive away. There are two beaches in the area - Fanore Beach to the north and Lahinch to the south. FESTIVALS: These are some of the festivals taking place in the area. Please search for them for more details, I'm not allowed to post website addresses. Burren in Bloom Festival - annual, May Burren Slow Food Festival - annual, May Burren Rocks! Doolin Folk Festival - annual, June Doolin Craft Beer Festival - annual, August Burren Food Fayre - annual, last weekend in October
  • Perfect host! I spent a great week at Karin's. I highly recommend this accommodation!

    Margot2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nicest and coziest place ever! I've spent three nights at Karin's place in January. The house is amazing and she has three wonderful friendly cats. Even though it was cold winter season and the village was pretty empty at the moment, I had my three days of exploration and relax. The bed is even provided with an electric hot blanket! I followed Karin's suggestion and discovered some hidden routes and villages around. Definitely worth a visit

    Diana2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • I lived with Karin for a whole week and felt very comfortable. The welcome was very cordial and I got many tips for the region. I can recommend the accommodation of Karin without restriction.

  • My stay at Karin's was excellent! Her home is lovely, cozy, and comfortable and it was exactly what I needed for my stay in Lisdoonvarna. Karin is so hospitable and kind and was there to help me at any step of the way. I recommend a stay with Karin wholeheartedly.

  • Karin has a nice house in a great quiet location, in Lisdoonvarna village and close to some great walks and places to visit. She is a great host and an interesting lady who knows a lot about the area and can provide lots of ideas on what to see and do locally.

    Graham2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly located for the amenities of Lisdoonvarna and a great place for exploring, Karin is a very hospitable host with a homely house and offers great tips on local attractions. Having a bathroom to myself was an unexpected bonus and I really liked my cosy bedroom.

Located on the edge of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark, a World Heritage Site and place of unequalled beauty. I am conveniently close to the Wild Atlantic Way and only a 20 minute drive to the nearest sandy beach in Lahinch, 25 minutes drive to the Cliffs of Moher and the stunning cliff walk - not to be missed! I will be happy to suggest local Burren walking and cycling routes.
Inchovea Schoolhouse was renovated into a family home over 12 years ago and we look forward to sharing it with our future guests. We are located in a wonderful part of County Clare within easy access of the Cliffs of Moher and the many attractions of the Burren. We are in a rural area, surrounded by nature and its wonderful sights and sounds. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
We are located in the countryside but we are close to a number of towns. Kilfenora - approx. 3 miles. Small village which is known as the "Gateway to the Burren" and houses the Burren Centre where you can take a walk through time and be introduced to the ancient mysteries of the Burren and follow the story of the formation of the Burren's landscape. There are some small shops here where you can pick up bread, milk etc. Ennistymon - 15 min drive. Market town with good restaurants and pubs which I can recommend. There are a few supermarkets here with a larger selection of food and drink than the local shops of Kilfenora. Lahinch - 20 min drive . A lovely seaside town with a gorgeous sandy beach, an 18 hole links golf course, numerous surfing schools, good nightlife and lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Liscannor is also close by with a few good pubs. Clahan rock pools are around the corner too, great spot for swimming on warm days! Doolin - 25 mins drive The home of traditional Irish music, what more can I say! Great nightlife, good food and dropping off spot for day trips to the Aran Islands. Ballyvaughan, Cliffs of Moher and Lisdoonvarna (home to the annual matchmaking festival and Clare’s only Michelin started restaurant) are within short driving distance too. Galway is also only 2 hours drive away for a day trip. We will provide a guidebooks with our recommendations upon your arrival
  • Very nice, little off the road but quite. Cliffs of Moher and burrens very near to reach by car. Great and friendly host.

  • Due to travel changes, we ended up not staying here. However, before the trip Rosalie was friendly, helpful and informative :)

    Holly2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was in an excellent location with plenty of places to visit and eat, plus a national park to hike for awesome sights and photography. Local restaurants served spectacular meals. Rosalie has a gorgeously decorated home in the country, yet central to all the sites you want to visit. Her home is very clean, and it was handy to have kitchen availability for breakfasts.

  • Cozy apartment with extremely thoughtful host who left us a fire in the wood burner ready to go and had set the heating on for our arrival in the middle of the night! We had the whole living space to ourselves with fully equipped kitchen and spacious bright bedroom. Great location in close proximity to the main places of interest in Burren. We would surely get back to Viv’s on our next time in Co. Clare!

  • Stove was stacked for our arrival/ heating was on. The house was really clean and cosy & the bed was really comfy!

    Ursula2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice view, very comfortable bed, tea, coffee, milk and French press provided. WiFi worked well. Loved being close to the Cliffs of Moher (about 15/20 minutes drive for us), and just before the visitor center there is a sign posted on the main drive “Guerin’s Path” which lets you drive right up to the highest point of the cliffs and park for 5 euros per person. Definitely worth it to us! We skipped the crowds and buses at the visitor center plus got to sit in the car whenever it decided to rain. Views are just beautiful! Also loved Dodi’s cafe in Lahinch, the cappuccinos, the bap, and avocado toast were all great and just about 20 minutes away.

  • Trish is such a gracious host and her pride in her home shows! A lot of space and beds for all. The showers were great and to have amenities like a washer, dryer, and dishwasher was a treat! The spacious house was out in the lovely countryside and cute village of Kilfenora. Darren down and Linnanes pub was a wonderful bar keep, shared his love of the unique music of the area, and pours the perfect pint. Trish helped arrange a taxi to and from Doolin so we could enjoy the music and drinks—what a fun night! It is a great local to explore the Burren, the cliffs of Moher, and Galway.

    Kilfenora, County Clare, Ireland

Experience authentic Irish living in this cosy, characterful 1930s house in the village of Kilfenora in County Clare, famous for traditional music and adjacent to the world famous Burren Region, with its spectacular landscape, and an abundance of flora and fauna. This charming and commodious house, with many original features, is suitable for people seeking peace and tranquillity in the Clare countryside and also for families with children, with much to see and do in the locality.
The space is furnished and decorated to an extremely high standard, with careful consideration given to both the practical requirements and relaxation needs of the visitor. The kitchen offers ample space and materials for food preparation, and both the dining room - with it’s long country-house dining table - and living room feature wood-burning stoves, providing ideal space to sit down together and enjoy this endearing home. The area is peaceful and relaxing, and the situation of the house at the edge of this rural village allows easy access to the wild and rugged landscapes that Ireland and in particular the Burren region are famous for, while at the same time having the convenience of being within strolling distance of several authentic pubs, craft shops, grocery shops, a tea room and a spectacular 12th century cathedral.
The Burren Centre, located at the centre of the village, will contribute greatly to your understanding of the Burren as it unfolds the mysteries and delights of the region, highlighting aspects of the Burren landscape, geology, flora and fauna. Its interactive display is well worth a visit. Kilfenora was once known as the City of the Crosses. These crosses, carved from limestone, date to the 12th Century and five of the original seven are on display in a part of the 12th Century Cathedral.  This building was altered during the 1800s and the more recent part remains in occasional use for religious services.  In the summer months it is home to the Kilfenora Timeline, a local community heritage project which details the history of the village and surrounding area from the establishment of a monastic community in the 6th Century, up until the present day.  The Timeline is free to visit, and will provide the visitor with a great deal of background knowledge, in addition to affording one an opportunity to view the interior of this magnificent structure.   Kilfenora is perhaps best known for its traditional Irish music and dancing. Set-dancing is held year-round, every Sunday night at Vaughan's Barn.  From October to March, set-dancing classes are held on Thursday nights before the dancing and everyone is encouraged to take part.  Traditional music can be heard on most nights in the local pubs.  No-where can one experience the true tradition more than by joining in one of the many spontaneous sessions which abound in North Clare.
  • Fiona and Ronan have created such a beautiful home in Kilfenora. The decor and amenities have a wonderful vibe and we all felt very at home and comfortable throughout our two-week stay. Fiona was extremely attentive and quick to respond in the leadup and duration and just generally very friendly and hospitable! I would not hesitate to book a stay here again.

    Sophie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was the perfect base for our recent family trip to the west of Ireland. We planned a weeks worth of day trips and found that everywhere we wanted to visit was just a pleasant drive away. The village had three wonderful pubs all within a minute’s walk and the locals were incredibly welcoming. Vaughan’s was our particular favourite! For ‘essentials’ the village shop was perfect however the two local supermarkets were just a ten minute drive away. Communication with a Fiona was perfect! All questions were answered very quickly and although we were never bothered during our stay, we knew that Fi’s mum was close at hand if we needed anything. The house was immaculate and had literally everything you could ever need for a very comfortable family holiday. I was so impressed with the level of quality of every single item in the house. I’m used to travelling a lot and it’s pretty standard to see a house full of Ikea furniture and cheaper appliances. Fiona’s house was very much the exception!! From the sound system to the art work to the very comfortable mattresses, everything felt like a proper family home! Not a single corner felt cut! We had a week of terrible weather so it was simply wonderful to return home each day to the comforts of the house. We’d cook most evenings, eat together around the huge family table and chill out with a drink in front of the log burner, occasionally calling for a ‘few’ Guinness in between! If you’re looking for a spacious, well designed home from home for your trip to Ireland I doubt you’ll find anywhere better! Thanks Fiona, we’ll certainly be returning x

  • Fionas home was so full of all the old world charm you travel to Ireland for. It's perfectly appointed being just a 1/2 hours drive to the Cliffs of Moher and placed quaintly in a truly authentic small Irish town. Plus, her great taste provides you a very stylish experience you won't forget. I would 100% recommend and come back.

A friendly, safe space—a little sanctuary for travellers, wildlife, artists, surfers and yogis. Grace runs a small yoga & creativity space on the edge of Ennistymon. You're welcome to stay in her guest room. You can use the yoga space, enjoy the garden, or meditate in the woodland. There's the sound of the stream that runs behind the house, and it's a short walk into Ennistymon by road, or by a longer path through the woods. Charming in every way. 7 mins to Lahinch. 15 mins to the Cliffs.
Your bathroom is right beside your bedroom. You're welcome to use the kitchen/sitting-room to cook in. And if the weather's nice you might like to rest in the garden, or wander beneath the trees.
The Little Sanctuary is just outside Ennistymon, which is one of the loveliest, friendliest, hippest towns in Ireland. The house is on a quiet road in a small, special valley, and the views are of green fields, trees, and a lovely hill grazed by sheep and cows. It's an oasis of calm very close to a lively, friendly community.

Our location is 1 mile outside the village of Kilfenora on the Ennis Road. We are located in the heart of the Burren in a quiet rural setting overlooking a well preserved iron age earthen ringfort. Our neighbours are traditional cattle and free range pig farmers, where you can buy your Irish breakfast ingredients. Our family are traditional musicians and play in the pubs locally and practice in the house from time to time. We have a lovely white pony and a donkey grazing the lawn outside.

  • Very friendly people and cozy cottage. We loved chatting with Liam and Maria, and also they recommended us two wonderful activities we would otherwise have missed, Doolin Cave (spectacular stalactite and great way to get out of the chilly rain) and Bunratty Castle which was on our way to our next stop. Comfy bed and very welcome fire in the evening! Great breakfast cooked by the lovely couple.

  • Liam and Maria were such great hosts! The place was clean, our room was so spacious, and the breakfast was amazing! WiFi was super fast(a nice change compared to our last few Airbnb’s), and overall the experience was amazing. They also gave great tips on local pubs and the best route for scenic views. My husband was even excited to enjoy watching the rugby World Cup early in the morning with Liam. Highly recommend staying here!

  • We arrived a bit later but found a lovely note leading us to our room, which I thought was a nice touch. The volunteers were super accommodating and friendly in arranging for our requests on short-notice. The breakfast was healthy and varied. What I loved most was all the thought that is being put into the place - loads of information on wildlife, flora, fauna, near-buy attractions etc. A great, homely space with people putting lots of love and attention into the details.

    Vivien2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • I love the Boghill Center. It is such a unique place in the heart of the Burren and great base for exploring. The staff are nice and knowledgeable about the area, and Doolin is close ... for music and pubs and ferries to Aran.

  • Small eco system in the middle of nowhere under the sign 'bio-ecolo', if you like the hippie style you will be comfortable .. very peaceful place (which makes its charm) and family. Rustic but very clean, however 29 € too expensive for what it is .. it is the law of the week ends ..

  • This is a remote side of Ireland that offers all natural and outdoor environment that can compare to no others. The lodge setting was the best and made some great memories for us.

  • Relaxing and homely atmosphere. Fantastic for children.

  • If you are looking for a wonderful place that is off the beaten path, this place is it. The staff at the centre are really great. They all had good ideas of local hikes and places to go see, and they even have a bit of history for context. At night there was always some really amazing conversations happening. I would definitely recommend this as a place to renew your spirit and experience some the of west coast of Ireland.

  • Henry is very nice and there are lots of tips for staying in Doolin. The apartment is very clean and generous. We had our own private bath available. The house is however a little outside of Doolin. If you travel by car, the journey takes about 7min. By public transport the house is not accessible from Doolin. Henry, however, was kind enough to pick us up with his car. We had a lovely stay!

  • What a great place! Liam’s hospitality made me feel right at home. His knowledge of the area and specifically the best way to hike the cliffs of mahor was perfect! I followed his advice and couldn’t have found a better spot to park and begin the hike myself. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! The only thing you should know is it was hard for me to find his place. Google maps is the only one that worked.. and it helped to use the Crosswinds b&b as a nearby land mark. But I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than staying at Liam’s.

    Joseph2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, very peaceful house, away from the noise of the city to spend a relaxing night after having a beer at a Doolin's pub and the next day going to the Clifts of Moher (if you like sports you can go cycling from there and it's about 50 minutes maybe or a little more). I know that the important thing in Airbnb is the accommodation, however, I would like to highlight the personality of the hosts, two people who have many interesting things to talk about and with whom you will feel at home. No doubt two wonderful people. I hope to return, at least, one more time :)

    Victor2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The B&B is a bit out of town and a bit of a walk, but that's the only downside! It is very nice here, surrounded by fields and very close to the Cliffs of Moher, wherever a bus goes! The house itself is very clean and cozy and the breakfast was delicious. Maria and Liam are happy to help with questions or problems and look at the well-being of the guests.

    Mirjam2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Liam & Maria’s place for the night. She was an amazing host, great to talk to, myself her and another guest had good conversations. She gave suggestion on local food places and touristy spots that effected my itinerary. Also when i had to leave early the next day, she was very kind to get the whole amazing breakfast ready as early.

  • All of it was great, and a great value, but there is a secret ingredient this couple has in running this B&B smack in the center of Lisdoonvarna: they felt like family. The breakfast is incredible, the whole building is adorable and the staff first rate. I honestly got a little homesick when I left. I was there covering the Matchmaking Festival and O'Neill's was a much needed respite from the madness.

  • Great accommodation! Adrian and his dad Murt were really easy to communicate with (always responding within 5 minutes of a message). The location is lovely, about a 20 minute drive from doolin/cliffs of moher/Burren. The facilities are great with a big bathroom and a really well equipped kitchen that we were free to use. Adrian and Murt were really welcoming! Would recommend.

  • This is a stay we will not forget. Adrien perfectly guided us in the discovery of the region: good information for visits (Aran Islands, Cliffs Moher ....) for the hikes, the good addresses of pubs and the most important he introduced us to the Celtic music being himself a flutist of talent. As for the rental nothing to complain about with Murt (the father) to care for us. Ideal location to discover the Buren. To recommend ! , hiking

  • Beautiful area, lovely clean warm house. Comfortable bed. Adrian’s father Murt was very accommodating and very easy to chat to.

  • A brilliant location to go out and discover the Burren and all that Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer. The room was large, had a very powerful shower (perfect for warming up properly after a morning surfing in Lahinch) and a comfortable double bed. We had access to the kitchen at all times and the WiFi was strong enough to stream films. There’s also a very nice donkey and horse in the nearest field who like a bit of attention each time you arrive too!

    Tadhgh2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Ardrian's house and his father's wedding at Kilfenora Village, nearby. The room is very beautiful and spacious. We appreciated the independent bathroom and the cleanliness of the place. Adrian's father welcomed us very well by offering us a cup of tea and cupcakes. We obviously recommend Adrian's accommodation.

  • We had a great time staying at Adrian's place! Both he, his father Murt, and a friend of theirs who helped us check in were extremely nice and helpful. It's a nice quiet place and we really felt like we were at home. I would definitely recommend staying here!

This charming cottage with many original features is suitable for people seeking peace and tranquility in the Clare countryside. It’s especially suitable for families with children where there is much to see & do in the locality.
This lovely detached property is conveniently located in the peaceful village of Kilfenora. The original cottage which dates back to pre 1840s has been beautifully restored while still retaining many original features, eg fireplace, etc. The original flagstone roof still remains and is a ‘listed’ feature. The Cliffs of Moher, and many beaches are within easy reach of Kilfenora, offering breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. The area is peaceful and relaxing and the location of the cottage in this rural village allows easy access to the thus wild and rugged landscape. At the same time the cottage is within strolling distance of local pubs, craft shops, grocery shops, a tea room and a spectacular 12 century cathedral. Kilfenora is located in a protected area called the ‘ Burren’ which is a karst limestone landscape. The local area has a lot to offer including activities such as golf, hiking, walking, caving, fishing and surfing. The Burren Centre located in the centre of the village is an interpretative centre with an interactive display which provides lots of information about this region. A guided talk is provided which aims to help you understand the mysteries of this region and its formation. The guide will highlight aspects of the burren landscape, it’s geology, along with information and images of its world famous & unique flora and fauna. Kilfenora is known as the city if the seven crosses which have been carved out of limestone and date back to the 12th century. Five if the original crosses are on display in the 12th century cathedral which is located in the centre of the village. This magnificent building is well worth a visit. Kilfenora us Perth’s is best know for its traditional Irish music and dancing. Set dancing is held every Sunday night in Vaughan’s Barn. Set dancing classes are offered from October-March, and are great fun. Traditional music is held most nights in the local pubs and often many sessions can be spontaneous where anyone can join in the trad session. These sessions are unique and furious where the musicians are masters at their craft. A must for all to see if visiting the area.

Our Ecofriendly B&B was established over 100 years ago. The building retains its old style charm, where a warm welcome awaits all guests. The en suite bedroom offers you comfort, cleanliness and a modern decor. Televisions are installed in all rooms. This twin room has two single beds for 2 guests. Also, single rooms are available for solo travellers. The breakfast menu offers a variety of choices of freshly cooked local produce, home baked brown bread and freshly brewed tea or coffee.
The rooms are all en suite, with comfortable beds, t.v., hairdryer and toiletries. This twin room is bright and spacious, facing South. The black out linings give you a quiet sleep.
Lisdoonvarna is a small town in County Clare. It grew up around the famous Sulphur water springs. You can visit the victorian pump house and sample the water. The town has a choice of excellent restaurants and traditional music pubs.
  • Christine's AirBNB was everything the photos promised and so much more. Nestled back on a quiet street, the B&B was a short 2 minutes stroll from the pubs in Lisdoonvarna and a quick jaunt in the car to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. The bedroom was clean and bes extremely comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was spotless and spacious (considering the cruise ship sized one at the previous hotel). Breakfast each morning was delicious and satiating for a full day of venturing out and about in County Clare. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We will certainly be staying again.

Everything was very clean, the rooms are decorated with remarkable paintings. This place is a good starting point for visits to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Thank you very much Christine!

  • The Boghill Centre was a lovely little retreat set in the country side. I connected most with Maura bc we had a little jam session on guitar and ukulele after breakfast one morning. I would love to come back and visit again. Thank you.

  • My family spent one night, arriving later than we planned but all ok with our host. Tip: don't park at first sign if coming from Lisdoonvarna side as it's an overflow car park. But the meandering path led us by a pond, bug hotel and cob house so it was a great adventure for us. The main hostel is homely, welcoming and we loved our large room with views of the garden. There was a music workshop festival on so lots of buzz about. The next day we got to experience impromptu music sessions in the living room. All the guests were tolerant of inquisitive children, letting them strum instruments etc. Lovely scent of woodsmoke and good food about... I bought a Boghill cook book. We had tasty breakfast including porridge made with lots of "intention", not sure what the intention was but it was delicious! I explored the gardens including a contemporary stone circle, horse n donkeys, friendly dogs, great sweeps of flowers and green spaces, a swing tire. Amazing Workshop space next door with living roof. I loved the cob house with living roof. Left refreshed and chilled. Will return someday.
