The cosy wooden cabin sleeps 3 people and is 30 m from the main house away that has 2 bedrooms for 4 people. TOILET AND SHOWER IN MAIN HOUSE. Generous Breakfast included. A haven of relaxation!
“I am so touched by the hospitality and warmth of my stay with Josef and Helga. My time staying on their land and getting to know them was perhaps the highlight of my three weeks in Ireland. I stayed a total of a week with them (with a small intermission to pop up to Connemara). I stayed in both the cabin and the main house. The cabin is exactly what I had hoped for when I found it on Airbnb -- cozy, private, warmed by a wood stove. The cabin's kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals, which also makes the cabin a place that one can completely retreat into if that's desired. I enjoyed my stay in the house just as much. I appreciated having the sitting room to journal and read my book. I loved being near to Josef and Helga's comings and goings, tending to the stoves, feeding the cows, preparing meals, enjoying a cup of tea in the other room. Their company, both in conversation with them, and in the distant awareness of them moving through the house, was so very sweet. Josef and Helga are very, very special human beings. I'll let you find out for yourself what I mean. Perhaps my biggest endorsement of Josef's B&B is that after a week I left reluctantly. There is no doubt in my mind that I will return, and I so look forward to that time. And though it hardly bears mentioning considering its overwhelming reputation, Josef's breakfast is a true treat.”
"The Guest Wing" is a comfortable one bed apartment a short walk along the pier to Clifden's centre. The Apartment is quiet and private.
“The pictures don’t do The Guest Wing justice, it is immaculate and the space is well thought out and designed perfectly for two. There is a view of the sunrise out of the bedroom window and just a short drive to the Sky Road to see the most incredible sunset. Susan and Leo were incredibly accommodating hosts with lots of helpful contact in advance to help us plan our arrival, it couldn’t have been smoother. The fire makes the apartment really cosy and it’s setting is very sheltered from the wild Atlantic weather, which can be viewed at leisure from the comfort of the apartment. The bed was very spacious and comfortable and another highlight was the custom shower, which if you opened the bathroom window felt like you’re almost outdoors, wonderful! Many places make a good base for travelling but The Guest Wing made you look forward to getting back after a day of sightseeing. Lots of places close by including Lowrys which made us feel very welcome and had great live music. Would highly recommend.”
Charming self catering cottage, situated west of Galway city and within walking distance of the quaint village Spiddal. With Connemara, the Burren and the Aran Islands on your doorstep why not have Cloch Na Scith as your base for your Irish adventure. Mentioned in Frommers Ireland/Lonely Planet/Michelin Guide/ The Rough Guide/ Travel 101/ Le Guide du Routard. Regretfully the cottage is not suitable for children.
“The lovely cottage was the perfect location for our family get-away. It was well-stocked, and the decor was full of lovely touches that made the stay a pleasure. It was nice to have a good footpath to walk on all the way from the village. We appreciated the scones on arrival, and Nancy was a very friendly and helpful host, who helped to make our stay special! In these covid times, it was lovely to have such a comfortable and private space to relax in.”
