The Wee Beach House in Whiting Bay is situated behind The Big Beach House on the beautiful Isle of Arran! It has recently been renovated and tastefully decorated to a high standard. We have a fenced, private garden with outside furniture, safe for children. Perfect location - only meters from the beach, 2 minutes walk from the local village shop and 100 meters from a children’s play park. We have 2 great restaurants and a bar only a short walk away. We also have on-street parking.
The wee beach house has on street parking, the drive is for the big beach house, the wee beach house an enclosed patio area .
  • A wonderful winter break in a lovely wee cottage. Great location and very helpful host .

  • Affordable, comfortable, great location, great hosts! We stayed for two nights in January and were wowed by the hospitality (lots of wood and kindling for fire, shortbreads) and local tips. Seconds from the beach but very secluded. We just loved staying here!

  • Stayed in the Wee Beach House over Christmas and had a wonderful time. The cottage had everything we needed including a fully equipped kitchen to make Christmas dinner. Lovely goodies were a nice touch and much appreciated. Fantastic location and communication from Biff. Would definitely return

    Ami2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this caravan and this host. I stayed on a chilly November night but using the heater in the evening and the sleeping bag Zabdi provided, I was very comfortable. Zabdi was very friendly and knowledgable about the local area, she made some great suggestions for walking routes. Great scenery and wildlife in this part of Arran. I intend to be back!

    Gavin2019-11-16T00:00:00Z

  • We came for short period but had a beautiful stay at the place. It got everything you look for in caravan. You can find the extra water just at few steps. The view from the window is an eye catcher. There are few DVDs as well. The kitchen and utensils could be a little cleaner but apart that everything was good.

    Abhishek2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant time as usual, cosy caravan, great views and everything needed for a few nights. Sad to be leaving again.

    Helen2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fabulous setting and location. Really helpful and kind host. Cosy caravan well equipped. Highly recommended!

    Joe2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan is wonderful! It’s exactly what I wanted for my peaceful stay. It overlooks a beautiful beach, everything is really easy to use. If you don’t want to bring your own food there’s a hotel really close by and the bus service from the ferry stops just down from the van. Zabdi was great at explaining everything and was super helpful. Honestly, if you are looking to get away from it all then this is the place for you .

    Claire2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely and peaceful place, with fantastic views day and night . For the first time we slept in a motorhome, and we loved it! Wee heater kept us warm, when needed.

    Anna2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 3rd visit to zabdis caravans, and yet again we extended our stay. You can't beat the hospitality, while still having our own space to come and go, and the views are amazing, especially at this time of the year, seeing the big dipper and Orion at night is amazing. Cannot reccomend this place enough.

    Helen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a hidden little gem, so much so, that you might want to keep it to yourself after your stay. Zabdi and her family go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and have everything you need, while also giving you your own space to come and go as needed. I still can't believe I saw the big dipper for the first time in my life, the view both out to sea and the night sky are amazing.

    Helen2019-10-18T00:00:00Z

  • Zabdi was full of care and explain us very carefully how it was working; the location is great and the view magnificent.

    Isabelle2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great, especially if you catch a nice weather. Small homie caravan, it’s just right for an over night stay at the island. Zabdi was very welcoming and helpful.

  • Great spot.

    Gareth2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved spending a cosy, relaxing night at Zabdi’s caravan. Stunning location on the Kildonan coast, just a brief stroll from the beach. The caravan itself is incredibly cosy and very well equipped with nice views overlooking the sea. Zabdi herself was a great host and made us feel right at home, she recommended places to visit including a nearby hotel for dinner. As we hadn’t travelled by car we required advice with the bus system which she was incredibly helpful with. Absolutely loved staying here and think we will be back soon for a nice weekend of rest and recovery.

    Jonny2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A super located caravan overlooking the sea. The caravan is a bit older, but well maintained and clean, so you could quickly feel good. That there is no running water, did not bother us, because right next door is a tap with fresh drinking water. All in all, I can recommend the accommodation in any case!

    Meike2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful isolated location but not too far from the sights of Arran both walking and via public buses. The caravan was basic but had everything we needed and more! We had a great couple of days and would highly recommend and hopefully will be back!

Kelvinhaugh Cottage sits in the clachan, or hamlet, of Auchencairn, just outside the village of Whiting Bay. The cottage is at the end of the clachan on a quiet, paved, single track road, surrounded by fields, with only the occasional farm vehicle passing. The cottage consists of a downstairs toilet and separate shower room, an open plan living room/dining room and kitchen. Upstairs is two twin rooms, one room leads out of the other, while downstairs looks onto a large garden.
  • Lovely older building with character. Quiet location but still only a short drive from all of Arran's beautiful sights and especially handy for nipping into Brodick for food. Sky TV for rainy evenings is a bonus and there's everything you need in the kitchen for an enjoyable self catering stay.

    Ross2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Basic cottage with everything you need for a few days on the island

    Henry2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A really convenient location with great public transport links. The cottage is a nice size for two people sharing with a good sized kitchen and living room. Suzie is a very welcoming host who quickly responded to all communications. It was reasonably cold when we were up but we had no issues keeping the cottage warm. Cooking facilities are adequate for self catering but freezer space is limited if you're they're for a while. Very comfy and a good price

    Matthew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my boyfriend stayed over at the cottage for a weekend in January and we had a really good time. Suzie was really nice and a good host, the cottage is very cozy and looks great. Everything was working well in the cottage so we had no problems at all. It is well heated (both the kitchen with the living room and there is another heater in the bedroom upstairs that heats the room really well!). The place is easy to get to even by public transport (5 min to the bus stop) although there are not many buses on Sunday. Would definitely come back.

    Franciska2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage space, especially if you'd like to get off the beaten path. Suzie was a great, responsive hostess. She even saw us off the morning of our departure. There was plenty to keep us cozy and occupied despite the cold nights. Although we were a bit wary of the steep stairs to the bedrooms with three young ones, we didn't have any trouble. With a bit of guidance and supervision, they enjoyed the climbs to their beds. Coupled with lots to do in the area, cozy duvets, and the truly excellent darkening shades, our littles slept soundly. Suzie was a gem and we'd happily stay with her again.

    Evelyn2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy accommodation in traditional farm building. The family space downstairs works well & there’s use of a big garden, too (although we didn’t use ). Great for families - there’s a nice walk down to Whiting Bay across the fields. Suzie is a great host with helpful, local tips.

    Helen2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is remotely situated on a very quiet country lane about 15 mins from Brodick. It's comfortable, cosy and quiet, making it perfect for a weekend getaway if you are into the great outdoors. We had some issues with taxi's to and from Brodick, so would suggest prebooking, though I think we were just unlucky with them. Good shower.

    Paddy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great wee quiet location. The walk from the bottom of the road was only 10 minutes, and it was a stargazing treat! Cozy cottage. Comfy beds.

  • We had a wonderful stay and a Great time over New Year in Crofters Cottage. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, especially with the best and loveliest hosts we ever had: Jo and John.

    Nils2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Snug, clean cottage with views out over Ailsa Craig -- a wonderful place for us to spend a relaxed Christmas. Jo and John went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable -- the eggs, scones and mince pies were a particularly thoughtful touch. The weather was predictably wet and blustery for December on Arran, but the Aga made the place snug and the living room with cushioned window seats was perfect for sipping whisky with a book in the long evenings. Cooking the Christmas dinner was not a problem given the roomy Aga and well-supplied kitchen. Track is indeed long and rough in places as described, but we managed it no problem. Thank you so much for our stay!

    Susannah2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Crofter's Cottage was a terrific stay for us. Jo and John were friendly and easy to work with. Thoughtful touches provided with a few treats, outstanding local cheese, and a few basics that one might not have picked up at the store on the way out. The cottage itself was a very comfortable place. Lovely views out over the sea and Ailsa Craig in the distance.

    Brennan2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a fantastic place. Lots to see and do nearby and great local walks, but just as nice to slob out and do nothing. Track is a wee bit bumpy, as you'd expect of such a gloriously isolated spot, but nothing too bad. John and Jo are wonderful hosts and there were lots of thoughtful touches around the cottage. We'll be back.

    Alasdair2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Crofters Cottage was an absolutely perfect base for our trip to Arran. A fantastic spot to spend cosy evenings, a great location for exploring and really lovely hosts in Jo and John. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

    Holly2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! If a warm welcome, stunning views and a quiet, relaxing place are what you crave from a holiday, then this the place for you! Thanks Jo and John for making us so welcome.

St Leonards Cottage is beside a beach and a large playing field with swings etc. The enclosed garden is child friendly with a patio area. A well-stocked shop and restaurants are nearby. Please note that there is a £1 electricity meter and bed linen and towels are NOT provided. This is reflected in the letting price. The large bathroom has an overbath shower. Lets go from Saturday to Saturday. Entry is from 3pm. Vacate 11am. During July and August only fortnightly bookings will be accepted.
There are plenty of books for adults and children as well as toys and games along with pamphlets and reading material about the island, its history, the birds and animals and walks you can enjoy. There are binoculars in the sun lounge for guests to use.
Whiting Bay is a long established village on the south east of the island with views across the Firth of Clyde to nearby Holy Island and the Ayrshire coast. The village has a golf course, cafes, restaurants and shops including a very fine art shop. Sandbraes - where our cottage is situated - has a safe beach with sand and rock pools. There are good walks from the village.
  • A relaxing spacious house, next to the sea.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay in Arran, in a beautiful location. The conservatory was a great place to sit, relax and just day dream while looking at the coast off of Whiting Bay. It was less than a minutes walk to the beach. House was surprisingly roomy, and we fit 4 adults and 2 children in with no problem. We never felt crowded. Joyce was helpful and welcoming. The location was excellent, especially as the children could run and play in the park without having to cross any major roads. We were right on the Coastal path, so a quick 1/2 mile walk brought us to Kings Cross Point a wonderful viewpoint. We loved being able to feed the birds and watch them every morning.

Bella Vista cottage is set on an elavated location at the edge of Whiting Bay. 2 bedroom cottage with fantastic views. Kitchen & lounge open plan on the upper floor with a small raised deck. We are a mile from the village and up a fairly steep track if you are on foot. Is a bit bumpy so take it slow.
Cute 2 bed cottage with open plan lounge kitchen with small wood burner to keep you toasty.
Whiting Bay is the third largest village on Arran just over 8 miles from ferry terminal. There are a couple of eateries, bar, post office and chemist in the village.
  • What a stunning homely cottage. All that you could ask for in accommodation. A home from home, even though the temperatures were unseasonal warm, it was nice to have the log burner on in the evening. Great location, with plenty of options to eat out locally. Sampling the Islands famous local produce is a must. Adrienne is a first class host, communication was prompt and proactive when the ferry service was cancelled, nothing was too much troubles and her advice and local knowledge was very much appreciated. We can't wait to return.

On site Social club bar Thursday - Sunday. 10 minute walk to the beach and a tranquil wildlife garden to relax and enjoy the squirrels jumping on the ropes. This booking is for a 4 bed ensuite. • Paula’s place was truly amazing. A perfect location for a small group of travelers. It’s about a 1 hour bus ride from Brodick, but it doesn’t fell that long when traveling through the beautiful country side. Every Thursday-Sunday there is a bar open at the BnB where you have a great chance to sit down and talk with some locals (my favorite part of the trip). The room was spotless and the sheets smelled incredible. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Isle of Arran as it’s reasonably priced and in an ideal location (just a 10-15 minute walk to the beach).

    Noah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have had a warmer welcome! The bedrooms are basic, as you would expect, but spotlessly clean. The kitchen is really well fitted out and what a pleasure to watch red squirrels while you make your breakfast! The bar had a great atmosphere, a brilliant old-style jukebox, an amazing collection of gins and all the locals were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The kids loved the mini play park out back and the fairy walk. We got to watch three otters for over an hour swimming, playing and napping at the local beach, which is a very pleasant 10-minute walk from the hostel. All in all, we couldn't have enjoyed it more and thoroughly recommend others to try it out.

  • Thank you for accepting our request on such a short notice! We had a very good stay in the Bunkhouse with my sister! The accommodation was very quite at night all we could hear was the sound of the ocean. Also, I loved the 'Little Shop' ;) Beautiful Arran coastal walk just by the accommodation. Very clean bedroom and lovely Arran soap in the bathroom.

Recently refurbished throughout and new to the rental market in 2019. Available for three nights minimum and sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. Coillebheag is primarily our family holiday home so it is very well equipped. Although it was built in 1930 it suits modern living and has recently undergone a total refurbishment. There are wonderful sea views from all front aspects of the house and has direct access through the campsite to the beach.
The downstairs features a brand new fully fitted kitchen with a gas hob, oven and dishwasher. This leads through to a small breakfast area and beyond that a dining room with open aspects to the sea. The lounge has comfortable sofas, TV with freeview and plenty of board games for family to enjoy. There is also a sun-room for the summer months with a door leading out onto a small patio area and a downstairs loo with shower. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the king and double to the front of the house with wonderful sea views and the twin room to the back. There is also a comfortable study which also could be used as a nursery, a family bathroom with overhead shower and a further shower-room. Outside there is a good sized garden with a large picnic table and a gate leading through a camp-site to the beach. All electricity, bed linen, towels will be provided. Please note Colliebheag is a non-smoking accommodation.
Kildonan boasts, arguably, the best position on the Island. It is a small residential village with permanent and holiday home in equal measure. The village road runs all the way along the open sea shore famous for seal spotting! It has one hotel with bar and restaurant facilities which is open all year round, a campsite and perfect views over to Pladda and Ailsa Craig.

  • The vestry is a stunning compact tiny house nestled in the gorgeous location of Whiting Bay. The beach and clear waters are a minutes walk away from the front door. Inside was more lovely than ever expected, it was such a comfortable space and the attention to detail was insane. Our hosts were just as amazing as the island and vestry itself, we honestly felt like we were staying with family by the end of our stay, they are so accommodating, friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying in this home to anyone and can't wait to visit this lovely island again !! Thank you so much Katie and Howard xx

  • Jane really is what we would describe as a super host. She couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. We had made the mistake of not booking our car on the ferry and so had to arrive as foot passengers. Jane met us from the bus and drove us up the drive to her beautiful home. She prepared tea and homemade cake for us while we settled into our beautiful and tastefully decorated room. There were thoughtful touches such as sumptuous bath robes, locally produced toiletries, posies of fresh flowers, shortbread and a wide selection of good quality teas and coffee and some fascinating books on the local areThe bed was enormous and very comfortable and we both slept extremely well. Jane is very knowledgeable about the island and was able to recommend good walks plus arrange and book dinner reservations. On our first night we were unable to get into the beautiful Largs hotel for supper so Jane organised a booking at the Kildonan hotel along the coast. She even drove us there and came back at 10 O’clock to collect us. Amazing hospitality. For breakfast we sat in Jane’s beautiful kitchen admiring her lovely garden and the vast array of bird life that feed at the window. red squirrels also feed just outside and can be seen from the table. Jane cooked and prepared a delicious breakfast and we felt very spoilt and incredibly well cared for during our two day stay. If you are looking for a spot of luxury in a beautiful setting where you could not fail to be delighted by your surroundings, then this is the place.

Seamew is a spacious fully refurbished 3 bedroom bungalow seconds from the shore of Kildonan on the south of the island. Seamew is our family's holiday home and is very well furnished throughout, feeling like a proper home. The property can comfortably sleep up to six guests. It has a large kitchen and dining area, living room, garage and child-safe garden with outdoor games. Seamew enjoys an unspoilt view of the Firth of Clyde as well as the islands of Pladda and Ailsa Craig! No pets.
The house is decorated consistently throughout in bright, neutral tones, with comfortable sofas in the living room. The modern fitted kitchen has a double oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and separate tumble dryer, with plenty of storage. Guests have stayed the last 3 years over Christmas and Hogmanay and all have said it was a great kitchen to cook a Christmas dinner in! Quality bedlinens are provided in the bedrooms together with a fluffy bath and hand towel for each guest. There's a large family bathroom and an ensuite shower room in the master bedroom. There are plenty of games, DVDs and books for all ages - the Brio train set tends to be popular with our younger guests! The living room and bedrooms 1 and 3 enjoy fantastic views out to the Firth of Clyde - looking out to Pladda and Ailsa Craig. Bedroom 2 and the kitchen/dining area have views of the large private rear garden - with fabulous washing lines! I
Seamew is located on the very front of Kildonan near the village hall. The house is seconds from the beach and offers beautiful views of surrounding islands, mainland Scotland and even Northern Ireland (on a clear day)! The house is also a 5 minute walk to the start of a trail along the shore of Kildonan towards 'Bennan Head'. Dozens of seals can be spotted every day basking on the rocks along with the occasional otter.

  • The house is very comfortable, well equipped and warm, and is well placed for beach combing - lots of sea glass to be found. It's an ideal home to visit while on Arran as everywhere is easy to get to with a car. Fairly frequent bus service too from close to the house. There are loads of books, games and magazines for days of wet weather, and the cosy woodturning stove is made for cool evenings. This is a lovely house to visit.

It's in a great position too, there's plenty of walks nearby and the bus goes past the door step. Lovely house and we had a great time. Thank you!

  • Set in a quiet location at the south of the island, Seamew has enviable stunning views. The daily sighting of seals is great as is the beautiful beach. The property is great for access to the bus route (not that we used it). Take a torch though if walking in the evening. The property was well equipped and hadn’t plenty kids toys to keep them amused. Would recommend.

  • We had a wonderful weekend in Arran and couldn't have asked for a better base. Kildonan itself is lovely - quiet and picturesque - and the views from the lounge window superb. Jimmy2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The quirky cottage is positioned with the most fantastic views. Fields and horses, mountains and sea. A lovely walk along the beach to Whiting Bay. The house had everything one needs. The bedrooms are comfortable and cute. It is a lovely place to stay. Thank you.

  • My friends and I spent a lovely NYE and start of January at Moreen’s place Seaview. There is indeed a sea view and also lots of lovely other things to look at including 4 horses, many cats and a chicken who had been missing for 3 months who appeared the very last morning waking us up. The rooms are cosy and the kitchen and bathroom have everything you need. Plus the cosy living room where we hung about playing cards at nite time with a few nightcaps. Would deffo not hesitate to stay here again when in Arran.

    Anna2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with lots of character. The views overlooking the sea are amazing! Really enjoyed the drive to and from the cottage itself. Be prepared as it can be a tad cold during the winter but that’s to be expected. I would come back here again :)

    Cara2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Booked for an overnight work stay and the host was amazing! I completely understand why she gets such amazing praise! Property had extra touches like bread an marmalade and amazing views! Will return if back!

    Nicole2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Moreen’s cottage. It is nestled in a very special corner of the world and was a perfect base for our exploration of Arran. The stairs are not for the faint hearted but just as one anticipated from the description on Airbnb. We highly recommend this cottage!!!

A lovely cottage located in a small farm complex. The property has a secure rear garden backing onto open countryside with views. Cattle and Sheep are often in the rear field. The cottage has a first floor bedroom (twin beds or can be a double) and a bathroom. Ground floor has an open plan Lounge/Kitchen with open fire place and a separate dining room (Has been used as a bedroom). There is also a ground floor WC. The property will suit a couple for a peaceful hide away and walking adventures.
Views over neighbouring countryside from a private rear garden towards a Kirk and hills. A lovely walk opposite along the track to possibly the best beach on Arran. When the tide is out vast sandy areas can be explored. The Cottage I'd say was "quaint", "cosy" with its open fireplace.
The Cottage is set within an old Farming courtyard with other occupied properties. This cottage has parking to the side of the cottage and gated access to a private and secure rear garden. Nearby 10 min walk is The Lagg Hotel selling beers and food. The cottage is opposite a Creamery where basic essentials can be purchased, although it is not a supermarket!! Just a few eggs and milk daily.
  • Beautiful scenery from the property. Quiet, peaceful area which is a short walk to a beautiful beach.

    Suzanne2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was very clean and very well presented. The cottage is the perfect base to explore the island from and has everything you need. The host is very quick to respond to communications and very helpful and willing to accommodate things like a late check out where possible etc. Would definitely recommend and will be using again when I come back to explore more of the island.

    Aaron2019-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cottage. It was clean, cosy and well equipped. The secure garden is a generous size and the surrounding area was lovely too. It served as great base while we snorkelled on the island and there was a lovely walk along the arran coast path from virtually outside the front door...perfect for morning dog walking. Great, fast communication from John too. Many thanks for the stay. We will hope to come again in future.

  • Rosario and Robin are the epitome of Isle of Arran hospitality. Accidentally stranded on the Isle left us looking for accomdation very last minute and finding their place really turn the weekend around and ended up being a highlight of two months of travel around The EU and UK. So generous with their hospitality, extremely comfortable rooms, great amenities and excellent people. Thank you so much. Would fly 24 hours from Aus to again to stay here.

    Nick2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well maintained cabin located in a quiet, picturesque area at the end of an equally pretty road. Modern, clean decor, very comfy beds and generous sized shower room. Homely and clean throughout. Sufficient crockery for microwave or instant meals. We were only there for two days, travelling by ferry and bus service. After a walk from Brodick to "Arran Aromatics" we picked up the North circular bus to Blackwaterfoot - spectacular views and a great way to see a lot in a short time. I used my bus pass and my daughter was £6.30 for a day ticket on the bus. Changed buses at Blackwaterfoot for Whiting Bay, where we arrived (4.20ish) between times for eating out - the Coffee Pot stopped serving food at 4pm, next place didn't start until 6pm, so it was microwave lasagne bought from the store for dinner - which we didn't mind at all. After eating, an evening walk brought us to Kings Cross point in time to see the sun go down. Absolutely perfect day.

    Isabel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rosario's Airbnb was fantastic - metres from the beach, really close to public transport and a lovely room with handy features like a couch, plenty of pillows & mini-fridge. We were welcomed with a big smile and communication was always prompt & helpful. We would definitely stay here again, and can recommend it for anyone (especially couples) looking for a lovely place to stay while enjoying the Isle of Arran!

  • Fantastic spot and lovely room! The beach is right in front of the place and not far from nearby Lamlash or Brodick so a handy location. Had a great stay!

    Jamie2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice view in the morning on the sea at breakfast. Clean and tasteful ... without overheating. In short ideal for 2 nights. We loved the duvets for their comfort! :) Good monitoring of our arrival at a distance by Rosario that we would have enjoyed crossing! See you next Time!

    Corinne2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is in a wonderful place, next to the sea and very close to the town. Rosario was very kind, we had a little talk and gave us announcements about the place

    Carmen2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • A wee gem, great value for money and a stones throw from the sea. The addition of the mini fridge, kettle and microwave were much appreciated. The toilet/shower room spacious. Very quick responses from Rosario the owner before our arrival. I would highly recommend and consider returning.

New for 2020, this 2 bedroom cottage built in 2010 and adjoining Viewbank Guest House is in a quiet idyllic location, just 200 metres from Whiting Bay Golf course and enjoys panoramic sea views of the Firth of Clyde and across to Holy Isle from it's elevated position above the village. The beach and village amenities including cafes and restaurants are only 500 metres away, and the cottage has the added benefit of having the owners living on site should any assistance be required at any time.
The cottage is set back from the main house and is accessible via 3 steps from the garden onto the decked balcony area housing outdoor furniture. The single storey accommodation comprises open plan kitchen dining/lounge area with impressive cathedral vaulted ceiling, one large king size double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower, and one twin bedroom with adjacent family bathroom incorporating Jacuzzi bath and shower above. There is sufficient private off road parking for 2 cars, ample storage space in both bedrooms, and heating is provided by a renewable under floor system and supplemented by a LPG gas stove. There is free Wi-Fi throughout, with TVs and Blu-ray/DVD players in the living area and master bedroom.
The Isle of Arran is known as "Scotland in miniature", and one of it's 'jewels' is the magnificent Glenashdale waterfall. Together with the Neolithic ‘Giants Graves”, they are easily accessible on foot, being only 2km/1.25 miles distance away from the cottage. The 18 hole Whiting Bay Golf Course is a short walk of just 200 metres away, which not only provides a challenge, but also some of the best views on the island. Stretching out along the beach front, Whiting Bay has many facilities; 3 restaurants, (including local pub), café, general store, post office, pharmacy, craft shop, eco shop, DIY store, putting green and two petrol stations. We would recommend a lunchtime visit to the 'Coffee Pot' cafe and 'Felicity's Bar & Bistro' for an evening out.

  • Great stay - we loved waking up with the view of the water. We got some great photos of the Oyster catchers. A good space for us - and great to have the fridge & kettle for breakfast. Lovely walk from the house along the front to the footpath to an old fort, with views to the Holy Isle.

    Abigail2019-08-20T00:00:00Z

  • Rosario and Robin are amazing hosts. We had another booking fall through and had no place to accommodate our group and they saved us. A potentially terrible night became a great memory. Their cottage is as described, right on a quiet gravel side road overlooking a fantastically idyllic cove of the Irish Sea. They even had a small campfire going when we arrived. Everyone in our group slept well and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The Summer House is a traditional cottage on a small working farm. The cottage has been substantially renovated from its years as a potato store! and now includes everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing (or active), break on our farm
The Summer House has steps at both doors, one step at the back door and two steps at the front door. We also have a wonderful spiral staircase with wooden steps made from local trees. The shower room is downstairs and the bedrooms are upstairs. In view of the above, The Summer House is not really suitable for those of limited mobility.

All linen and towels supplied. A well behaved dog is by prior agreement. (The Farm is flanked by fields which graze cattle and sheep).

  • We had a wonderful stay here on Arran. It’s an incredible place. The house is in a great location, the light in the south of the island was beautiful at this time of year and the beach is very close. We had lovely walks right on our door step really. And a great pub and a cafe a short walk away too. The house is very warm and cosy! We took logs and also had a fire but it is warm enough without. The beds are comfortable and the house is quaint but spacious. Showers were powerful enough and plenty of hot water for 6 staying. The island is magical, we saw shooting stars and so much wildlife- seals at Kildonan just metres from us.!

  • This is a beautiful, nicely appointed house in a quiet area with a quick walk to the sea. It is very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. Parking is right next to the house. The caretaker met us and showed us a few things about the house which was very helpful. There is also a notebook that John left with a lot of good information. Please note that there isn’t any wireless and cell service may not be available.

    Janet2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved the peace and tranquility of the cottage. Very comfortable and well kitted out. Games, books, cards, maps and guides all available. Having not been to Arran before wasn't sure of distances etc and although Clark (onsite) kindly gave us a pint of milk and there was some tea and coffee there would recommend picking up some basics in the Co-op when you get off the ferry. Some deckchairs would have been nice but apart from that I would highly recommend for a relaxing break.
