*available in summer -Our home backs onto Gore Bay where you can spot deer, cranes, turtles, fish, and other wildlife. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, hiking, climbing, fishing, kayaking or riding your 4 wheeler, there are many trails and the boat launch is close by. Misery Bay Provincial Park, Providence Bay, the cup and saucer trail, beautiful Bridal Veil Falls and Perivale Gallery are only a short drive from home. We are walking distance to the marina, restaurants and grocery store.
We have two rooms available, both feature brand new queen sized beds. If you are travelling with another couple and require both rooms, I can create a listing that includes both rooms for your convenience so you only need to do one booking. (based on both rooms being available) We don’t have a commercial kitchen to serve breakfast, but there is a coffee maker, tea kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and small sized refrigerator for your convenience. The bathroom and the bonfire pit are shared. (Please note that we do have a cat upstairs, and it is a non-smoking home (you are welcome to smoke under the covered porch). There is a private entrance in the back for guests, and each room has it’s own lock and key.
Once you unpack, just cross our white bridge and step onto the wooden boardwalk and take stroll to the marina and Buoys, the pizza truck and Rocky Racoons eatery’s or visit our Splitrail brewery and try some craft beers before browsing the shops in the Harbour Centre. We are walking distance to the downtown where you can access grocery and drug stores, gas, the LCBO, the Legion and more of our restaurants like Codmothers, Hawg Eaters BBQ and LocoBeanz coffeeshop.

  • I have stayed in a number of places and Jacqueline’s would rate right up there with the best of them. It is always sparkling clean, she is an excellent host and there are many thoughtful touches to discover.

Our house is the perfect base camp for winter sports, or a cozy retreat to get away and enjoy views of the sun on the snow and frozen waters of Lake Huron. Whether you enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, or sipping hot chocolate while the sun shines around you, we've got you covered on Manitoulin. Our quiet location is also perfect for a writing retreat or romantic getaway, with the amenities of the village still close at hand. We are enthusiastic supporters of AirBNB's inclusivity.
This is a year-round home in Gore Bay, situated on the north end of town. It is quiet and peaceful, has beautiful views of the waterfront and the East Bluffs on the other side of the bay. However, it is a brief 5-minute walk into town for groceries, the pharmacy, coffee shop, restaurants, and the bank. The house is well equipped with all linens, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, TV and DVD player. If you are not familiar with Ontario north of cottage country, I highly recommend spending a little time with a map looking at distances and driving times between Gore Bay and where you want to visit. Although we are centrally located, the island is deceptively large and driving is slower on these country roads than on major highways, especially in winter when snow and ice can cause dangerous conditions. Also, be aware that businesses are not open long hours, and the grocery store and and restaurants are not open late, especially in the winter. If you're not sure, just ask, and I'll be happy to help you!
Gore Bay is a small, friendly town of about 800 people. The marina is convenient for boaters in the North Channel. The central location of town makes it convenient to drive anywhere from the historic lighthouse at Meldrum Bay (about an hour's drive), the Cup and Saucer hiking trail (a half-hour drive), or the Wikwemikong pow-wow (in August, 1.25 hour drive).
  • One of the nicest airbnbs we have ever stayed at. This place has all the amenities of home and the location is great. Would definitely recommend.

  • Location Location Location. This was perfect for a real estate tour of the island , plus close to ice fishing across the street and 5 min drive up to the lighthouse point where my daughter caught a nice cisco. The house is updated beautifully with tons of new windows, hardwood floors and overlooks the bay with an upper balcony off the master and a lower deck off the kitchen which we used several times to watch the dozens of deer wandering about. Thanks again for a great stay. We may be back to try open water fishing in the bay.

  • We are repeat customers, staying a week and a couple of days over the Christmas holidays. We greatly enjoy how Kirsten has made a warm and relaxing home with plenty of storage space for guests to move in and setup their things. What you need, even for an extended stay is there, right down to plastic tumblers to use in the bathroom. :) Many thanks again, Kirsten!

    Kim2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, peaceful and charming! The check-in process was seamless and they even cleared the driveway twice after massive snowstorms. Will be back!

    Sophie2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBnb was amazing! Kristen was a great host, as well as her father Don, who welcomed me and gave me a tour of the place. The place is very cozy and feels like a cottage. There is an amazing view of the marina. It is a great location, just a few blocks from the grocery store, and a brewery around the other corner. The place was very clean and had lots of nice personal touches. I would stay here again without a doubt.

    Katie2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely comfortable home with a great view that is on the central North coast of Manitoulin so it's not too far to get anywhere. Kirsten was an excellent host; we wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thank you, Kirsten for helping to make our vacation so great.

    Jenna2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific location directly on the bay by the marina and close to shops. Friendly and attentive hosts. Clean and accommodating facility. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

    Tim2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four plus a small dog, enjoyed an over two week stay in Kirsten's nicely decorated, clean, smoke free, "home away from home." Great view of the marina and East Bluff, with all the main street businesses a short walk away. The mud room is wonderful: a place for jackets, shoes, beach towels (provided), and best of all - in house laundry, with all the supplies (even a drying rack and space to set it up!). The mattresses were very comfortable to sleep on. We enjoyed the array of kitchen dishware/bakeware and appliances. Full size refrigerator with upper freezer, microwave, stove, dishwasher, kettle, coffee pot, toaster, toaster oven, potato peeler, masher, flipper, measuring cups/spoons, 7" strainer, colander, whisk, mixing bowls, large frying pan, small and medium roasting dishes, pots and pans, oven mitts, scissors, milk bag jug, dish soap, dish drying rack, tea towels... - they're all there and more! Having two desks, two comfy living-room recliners and WiFi access was also greatly appreciated. We have our next stay booked already. :D Many thanks to you again, Kirsten! PS. For any allergy sufferers, you will be pleasantly surprised to find a box of facial tissue in each room. :)

Welcome to our cosy, open concept, barrier free summer home, nestled amongst the cedars in Evansville Manitoulin Island. We enjoy it here so much we would like to share it with you. We're not on the water but we are a great home base for exploring the Island. There's everything you need for a lovely Manitoulin vacation. Our kitchen is well supplied for your cooking needs, bring only your food. Enjoy the dvd/satellite on 2 big screen tv's. Bedding included.
Two decks for your enjoyment, a bbq and firepit for that Manitoulin experience. Sip morning coffee while listening to the birds while you plan your day exploring the island. You'll love the night sky during our quiet evenings on the back deck beside an outcrop of the Niagara Escarpment.
Evansville is 15 minutes from Gore Bay, an hour from Little Current, and an hour from South Baymouth. There is a local butcher shop nearby, and GG's Diner down the street, but there are no other services in Evansville. There is a public picnic area and boat ramp for your boat or kayak a couple minutes away, but swimming is not allowed. Take a lovely walk in the evening to watch the sunset over Scott's bluff at the causeway, bring your rod the bass, pike or rainbow trout might be biting, see the osprey protect her nest, and maybe take a picture of a deer or three. The closest beach is 11 minutes away at Julia Bay.
  • Amazing little cottage tucked into the cedars. Gore Bay is only 10 minutes away, loved all the amenities such as the washer, dryer, dishwashers and large oven to cook a turkey in for Thanksgiving dinner. The satellite and tv in the bedroom was an unexpected delight for those rainy days!

  • Diane's place was great! The kitchen was well equipped, it had easy access for loading & unloading the car. The deck & back patio were a bonus. Very comfortable & quiet location! I would recommend it.

    Pat2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Diane and Cliff are the best hosts! They gave us amazing local tips and always replied to questions quickly. Their place is spacious and has every kitchen amenity you can imagine. We stayed 3 days but wish it was 3 weeks. We had plenty of space for a family of 5 and will absolutely be back next year!

    Katie2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of space, you will undoubtedly feel home in Cliff and Diane cottage - at least we did. We had everything and more than what we needed for our few days. Communication with Cliff was great, reactive and agreeable - we did not meet but felt like we did. Some info for young kids parents on the location: the cottage is located above a frequented road. No fence between the alley / back yard and road.

    Cécile2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent stay, in a very convenient location for our activities (hiking, fishing, and exploring). Very few tourists around, and nice and quiet at night. Three bedrooms, and a spacious kitchen / dining / living room. Outdoor patios (front and back), are excellent for campfires and star-gazing. While next to the main road, we were not affected by road noise (very quiet, and few vehicles). We would stay again!

    Scott2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clean home away from home in a quiet part of the island. The place is clean and comfortable. Amenities like fire and bbq are nice touches to wind down with. Inside everything you need to enjoy your stay has been thought of, including rainy day backup entertainment! Would recommend to anyone looking for a retreat on the west end of Manitoulin!

    Mario2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at this cottage and couldn't recommend it enough if you are after a quiet and peaceful stay and campfires under a starry sky, gazing at the milky way. It was so nice we actually arranged to stay an additional day! We all loved it all!

    Manu2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Truly an amazing place to stay. Comfortable and had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable.

With breath-taking, panoramic views of Gore Bay this home features open concept features with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom available. The downstairs is totally yours to enjoy, whether it is watching a show in the family room, playing pool or ping-pong or just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet outside on our stamped concrete patio or under the pergola surrounded by raised gardens.

  • Awesome place, great host. Dawn had arranged everything as described in the posting. Very calm neighborhood with all amenities at walking distance. I would be back at Dawn's place whenever I am visiting the island. Highly recommended. -Harshal

We saw deer grazing quietly through the backyard in the early evening. The home is very convenient to *Gore Bay and makes a good base for exploring the rest of the island.

  • I really loved this place. It was perfect for myself and my dog. Unfortunately the weather kind of sucked so we didn't get to use the outdoor shower which looked so great. It was a great little cabin and Craig heated it up for me, which was nice as it was raining and cold when I arrived. Amazing bed too! Very cozy spot. I loved the dock and the walks around Oakley's Place. We went for a beautiful morning walk in the area and spotted a family of deer in the field nearby. So quiet and beautiful in this area. I'd highly recommend.

  • The bunkie is very lovely. We stayed there two nights and had a very good time. In the Bunkie we had everything we needed. It was nice to use the outdoor shower and we could see a beautiful sunset at the waterfront. Sharon and her husband were very nice and welcoming.

  • The Bunkie was very cute ! It had everything we needed for our stay . I had no problem with the outhouse and the outdoor shower was very nice evening though it was a tad chilly out . Our host was very friendly and showed us everything we needed . I hope to be back again for more than one night in the future.

A country retreat on 10 acres of forest a short drive from what was voted the most beautiful town in Canada, small, peaceful Kagawong. Close to a boat launch and a sand beach, enjoy the view of Clapperton island, watch the sunset, or go for a swim.
Imagine cottage. Small, quaint and very cute on the inside. On the outside you have much land to explore at your leisure and fire ban dependant, bonfires are certainly allowed
Neighbors are far and few between. You wont be bothered or be bothering anyone out here
  • Kyle is an amazing host. Much of our time together we spent chatting. He’s a very good conversationalist and a very interesting young fellow. I would highly recommend Kyle‘s home to people. The setting of this house is serene and I can only imagine how much better the wooded 10 acres his home sits on will appear in the summer.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of fun. Nice location. Definitely worth checking out.

    Hamza2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle responded quickly to accommodate me on short notice. He is very personable and friendly. His house is located in a beautifully forested setting and his pricing is very fair. I plan to stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

  • Awesome , enjoyed stay and place , it’s really epic

    Mohammed2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle's home was quaint and comfortable, and situation in a beautiful location. He was extremely helpful with giving us insiders tips of the area, kindly showed us to the local beach, and provided us with much wood for a great bond fire. This is a great place to stay while exploring what the Island has to offer!

    Laura2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kyle’s place was perfect, exactly as described. We visited on the thanksgiving long weekend, and had the whole place to ourselves since he was away visiting family. He was very open and communicative, a minor hiccup was that he suggested us not to drink the tap water and there was some in the fridge. We went and bought more next time we were out from the Freshmart about 20mins away. All in all a wonderful stay. Would love to go back.

Built in 2018, our off-grid cedar cabin is tucked away in a mixed woodland on beautiful Manitoulin Island. It is uniquely decorated with antiques, thrift store finds and handicrafts collected from our travels around the world as far as Africa, Japan, Costa Rica and Canada’s Arctic. Our space is an inviting space to unwind, unplug and wake up to the sounds of the birds after enjoying the stars on a clear night.
There is an outdoor solar shower is set among the cedars in a separate building a short walk from the cabin at the back of our property. Powered by the sun, guests can enjoy a warm shower in the forest. Fresh towels, soap, biodegradable shampoo and conditioner will be provided for guest use. Should you wish to bring your own amenities we ask that they are eco-friendly and biodegradable as the runoff goes directly into the ground. We also have a basic outdoor kitchen next to the cabin set up with a Coleman stove where you can prepare and eat your meals. Plates, bowls, cups, silverware as well as a French Press available to make coffee will be available to guests in the outdoor kitchen. Cooking pots, pans and a kettle will also be available for guest use. And we request that both cooking and eating happen outside of the cedar cabin as food attracts unwanted visitors. Please note that we do not have a refrigerator or an oven. Your food can be stored in a ‘boxed in’ locked cooler - however you will need to provide your own ice to keep it cool. The cedar cabin in the woods is powered by two solar panels. When the sun is shining and the panels are charging there is power. However on cloudy or rainy days when the power IS LIMITED we ask that you be mindful of what you plug in i.e. a cell phone or laptop charger etc. Unfortunately plugging in anything else (i.e. hair dryers and other accessories etc.) could draw too much power and could potentially drain or damage the batteries. It is also best to ‘plug in’ during the daytime so that the sun can recharge the batteries. There is also campfire pit with wood outside of the cabin for guests to use and enjoy. We just ask that you don't leave the fire unattended and when you are finished that the fire is completely out. When summers are dry there can be island wide fire bans - if this is a concern we will let guests know.
We are located about 10 minutes south of Gore Bay along Hwy 542 (heading south to Providence Bay) where you can find most amenities i.e. grocery store, health food store, hardware store and post office. We are centrally located on Manitoulin Island, making it a great home base while taking day trips around the island.
  • Sarah & Scott have created such a beautiful spot in the woods! The cabin, outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower (although chilly!) were perfect. Their communication about check-in etc was great and they provided us with more than we needed. Would definitely recommend a stay if you are in the area

    Marsha2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin away from the world. There are tons of things to do on the island , and while the cabin is perfectly isolated it is still close to amenities and activities. Sarah and Scott were great hosts.

    D2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott have such an incredible cabin. You could tell how much thought and care was put into this space. The cabin is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is very peaceful on their property. We loved our stay and regret not staying longer.

    Kristina2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott’s cabin in the woods does not disappoint. The space is amazing and well thought out. The bed was amazing. 2 of the best night sleeps we’ve had. We would definitely come again and recommend to friends.

    Natasha2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely worth checking out! Sarah and Scott are both wonderful people, you won’t regret staying here :) gorgeous area, and an absolutely amazing escape from the stresses of life.

    Brad2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Scott's cabin is the perfect place to stay on Manitoulin. They were incredibly welcoming and generous. The cabin is well located for exploring the island, yet you feel tucked away in your own world. The cabin is so comfortable and cosy and beautifully decorated with care and personal touches. The outdoor kitchen is well stocked with everything you could need and we really enjoyed spending two nights by the fire, which is amply fuelled with wood left out by Sarah and Scott. Overall it was a magical stay, I highly recommend it!

    Laura2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing! It's comfortable, relaxing, and really beautiful - with lots of thoughtful and handy touches like interesting books and brochures, a basket of boardgames, a handheld LED lamp for getting around outside after dark, and even reading material in the outhouse. The kitchen was really well equipped - better than a lot of AirBnBs I've stayed in. Sarah and Scott were also responsive and super helpful on arrival, and they clearly have an eye for design. Everything was easy to use, even for hapless non-campers like us. Can't say enough good things about it!

    Megan2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights at Sarah and Scott’s cabin in the woods. It was a very unique experience in an amazing location. The islands are beautiful and fun to explore, and they made great suggestions for our day trips. The fire pit was a great place to end the evening before an extremely restful sleep in their exquisite bed. We loved the details in the decor and we found the outdoor kitchen and shower setup to be a creative way to experience camping. Scott was always quick to respond and help out, we appreciate it very much. X

    Gore Bay, ON, Canada

Welcome to our Bayview Cottage in Gore Bay on beautiful Manitoulin Island, the largest fresh water island in the world. Our cottage is waterfront and comes with great views of the bay, east bluff and breathtaking sunrises right from the covered front porch or side deck. We have the conveniences of town but sit on a dead end road that leads to a beautiful historic lighthouse. The island has lots to offer and explore as it is home to great hunting, fishing, boating, hiking and swimming.
The cottage has a cute cosy rustic feel to it as the entire cottage is wood inside and out with cathedral ceilings and a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and would be a great cottage for a family, romantic getaway for a couple or a relaxing atmosphere for just 1. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to make your own meals, even waffles:) The common space is a place where you can watch t.v, play games, have a glass of wine in front of the fireplace and have a meal in the dinning area. Outside on the side deck there is a bbq with a picnic table aswell as other seating. The covered front porch is great for watching sunrises and reading. The side yard has room for outside games and fun including horseshoe pits. There is also a canoe on site. If you enjoy walking or biking, continue down the deadend road where it will lead you to a beautiful lighthouse (1.7km), if you decide to go in the other direction (1.2km) you can stop in for a beer at the brewery, grab lunch, take in the marina and yacht club, take the kids to the parks and stroll the boardwalk.
Gore Bay is centrally located on the island along the north channel of lake Huron. It is a beautiful town that is complete with a marina, boardwalk, Janet Head lighthouse and parks that include tennis courts, beach area, splash pad, soccer field and a basket ball court all with views of the bay and east bluff. Its amazing and not uncommon to spot deer grazing and relaxing on the yards of Gore Bay residence. Gore Bay conveniently has great amenities including grocery, LCBO, pharmacies, gas stations, a bank and numerous restaurants.
  • Andrea’s Gore Bay cottage is a perfect home base for exploring Manitoulin. There were only the two of us but a family or group would be comfortable in the space. The kitchen was set up with everything one could need and the all the amenities one could want are a short, picturesque and pleasant walk away. Take your hiking boots and check out the various trails. Andrea is a great guide and responds quickly to questions and the place was very clean.

  • Andrea’s place is a quaint and comfortable rustic cottage. Gives you that family cottage vibe. Lovely views from outdoor covered porch. Has everything you need for a cottage stay and some modern amenities. Place was clean and well equipped. Andrea was quick to respond to any inquiries. Would definitely recommend.

    Tammy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place was a wonderful cottage to relax near the water. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front deck under cover watching the stars. The fireplace was heavenly and kept us nice and toasty. I wish we were there in season as many things around where closed for the season. I would definitely recommend this place and Andrea as she was very attentive to all our needs.

    April2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Andrea's place with its rustic charm. If you are looking for a genuine cottage experience, this place is for you. Sitting on the veranda enjoying a coffee and a great view of the bay and East Bluff was perfect. We also enjoyed the large kitchen, fires in the wood-burning stove and the outdoor bbq. The check-in and check-out experience was no muss-no fuss and Andrea was extremely quick to respond to our requests and questions. We will most certainly be back!

    Guillaume2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Sharon's cottage. Cottage was clean and located a short walk from a beautiful beach. Had the pleasure of seeing several deer along the way and experienced Manitoulin's quaint towns.

  • We had a great stay at Sharon’s place. The cottage was cute, clean, quiet and peaceful . Our only complaint would be we wish we could have stayed longer. Manitoulin is beautiful and Sharon’s place was a great way to relax on the private beach after a busy day of hiking and exploring the island.

  • Staying at Melanie's was great. It's a spacious room with nice amenaties and stylishly decorated. Would definitely stay again.

    Hugo2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Melanie’s home is a wonderful place to stay, in a lovely location on the lake. The suite is totally private and she has created a luxurious, relaxing haven for any type of traveller. The bed is huge and comfortable, and the bedding and towels are top of line. Melanie generously provided all we needed for breakfast each day, fully stocked fridge with fresh milk, cream, juice, and jams. Bread, cereals, coffee, teas etc. It was more like a small apartment than a bedroom. Crowning glories were the chocolates on the pillow, handmade soap, and beautiful bottles of herbal sprays. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful home and thank Melanie for being such a wonderful host.

  • Super cosy and clean Airbnb in a nice and quiet village. Melanie welcomed us warmly and took really good care of us. She even provided some toys for our daughter. The room and also attached bathroom is spacious. It’s also very convenient that there is separate little room for clothes/suitcases. We would definitely come back. Manitoulin island is beautiful - the cup and saucer trail with magnificent views is only short drive away.

  • We had a great stay at Feather and Fern. Melanie was an ideal host, available and helpful but never intrusive. She gave us great advice on eating places in Gore Bay, Lakes we could consider for our kayaking trips, and even made us banana muffins. The room was spacious, and had a very comfortable King sized bed. We would definitely recommend Feather and Fern to others.

I have a 3 bedroom bungalow on the lake. The cabin has all the amenities, except for Internet. The cabin is not fancy. It's an older building but still very well laid out and very comfortable. The beach is one of the best on Manitoulin Island. Nice sand beach with a firm sand bottom that remains shallow for a long way. Situated on a quiet bay with almost no boat traffic. The water gets warm in the summer to swim.
There is a boat launches close by. You can pull a small boat up on the beach but anything inboard/outboard would probably be best left on a dock. There is a very nice 9 hole golf course about 15 min away. The Town of Gore Bay is also about 15 min away and has everything you will need. ie grocery store, hardware, beer store, pharmacy etc etc Evansville itself has a small butcher shop with the an assortment of canned goods, cheeses, and most things you'd expect in a deli.
  • Very spacious, beautiful spot on Manitoulin Island!

    Tariq2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! The beach and bunkie make it our new preferred location on the Island. Family friendly. We had ten people with kids, and we loved it. It’s close enough to Gore Bay and Kagawong, and given the isolated bay the water is warmer than expected. We will come again!

  • Breathtaking view of Campbell Bay on a private backyard with large deck, clean lawn, clean white sand beach! Generous, kind host. Older but clean 1950's bungalow with retro decor. Everything you could need you will find from bedding to sunblock. A canoe and row boat for borrowing, along with life jackets. Phenomenal. We will definitely be back! Thanks again!

    Jill2018-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place with a great beach front. It is shallow and sandy with privacy. I would definitely come back. The cottage and Bunkie were great.

    Gary2018-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beach is incredible! There is a trampoline on land as well as on the lake. It is shallow and great for kids. Water in the lake is clean enough for crayfish! Which we enjoyed catching and releasing with the kids. BBQ works great and the deck is big and low. 3 bedrooms with 1 bed each offered or family plenty of space. There is a guest house with two solid bunk-beds as well. Clean, plenty of space, hot water and cable tv all add to this positive review.

AT THIS TIME WE ARE ONLY RENTING TO PEOPLE CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL AND WHO HAVE A REQUIREMENT TO BE IN THE AREA. UNTIL AT LEAST APRIL 14TH WE ARE NOT RENTING TO PEOPLE JUST VISITING. We believe our property falls under item 13 on the provinces essential services list and will rent to essential personnel. Two bathrooms Full kitchen, including fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher and microwave. Large BBQ outside. All water runs through a purification system, with a tap in kitchen also running through a reverse osmosis (RO) system, so drink water and bath/shower worry free. The family room has a 46″ smart TV hooked to a satellite receiver with movie & sports packages, DVD player (with DVDs on site), stereo, and Microsoft XBox (with a collection of popular video games). Washer and Dryer on site. Basically all the amenities of home in a private setting (but only 10 minutes from town). There are games, puzzles, many books (some about the area), lawn chairs/patio chairs, picnic tables, sandbox, horseshoe pits, a canoe, quite a number of things to help you enjoy your stay. A secluded 3 bedroom cottage with over 600 feet of lakefront. There are actually 2 cottages, that rent out separately, on over 55 acres of land. We do not rent out both cottages to the same group of people as we've had problems doing this in the past. The cottage is on a small bay, known as Patterson Bay, on a fairly large lake called Lake Kagawong. Lake Kagawong is the 2nd largest lake on Manitoulin Island. It takes about one hour to drive around the lake. Manitoulin Island has over 100 lakes and is a gorgeous example of how beautiful Ontario is. The two cottages are private from each other, about a city block apart, with trees left in between for privacy. This cottage is tucked a little further back from the lake (about 200 feet). There is a large dock at this cottage. There is room to park 10+ vehicles in the parking area. The property consists of about 1/2 acre of lawn around the cottage. Out in front of that is the lake, limestone shoreline (the closest public sandy beach is in Gore Bay about 15 minutes away) with trees, an open field to the east, cedar forest, mixed forest finish off the property. There is a path through the bush on the property where we’ve seen a fair bit of Ontario wildlife. There is a bonfire area, a sand box, horse shoe pits, washline. The cottage is called White Pine Vista because of the towering white pines (fairly unusual to the island) out front of the cottage. We do NOT allow parties at this property.
3 Bedroom, Lakeside Manitoulin Cottage. Private Cottage on 15+ acres, with 300′+ of shoreline. • The place is great, with all the modern amenities you need, while also providing the isolation you're looking for. The lake is right by the cottage and provides a stunning backdrop. Quiet, secluded, spacious home in a wooded lakeside setting in Central Manitoulin Island. Our guest rooms are wheel chair accessible. We are located approximately 10 km from the picturesque town of Gore Bay, featuring full marina facilities on the North Channel and a variety of shopping venues. A nine hole golf course is only 5 km away and we are within easy access of many hiking trails. We are also central to some of the best cycling routes on Manitoulin Island.
Enjoy this unique opportunity to stay on the waterfront of a private lake. We have a spacious home with an extra bedroom and a dedicated bathroom to offer. The bedroom has one queen bed with a separate entrance to an outside patio. The dedicated bathroom is situated just across the entry hallway and has grab bars, two sinks (one wheelchair accessible) and tub with a shower. The bathroom is for your exclusive use during your stay. Rylie, our border collie mix, will enthusiastically greet you and absorb as much attention as you care to give, but will not enter your rooms. You are not likely to get the chance to spend much time with Deedee, our 17 year old calico cat. She prefers solitary sunshine. Our house is nestled in the trees in our four-acre wood, steps for the lake. Enjoy watching for loons, woodpeckers, squirrels, deer and the occasional bald eagle soaring along the edge of the lake. Indoors we have a large living room with a woodstove for cold winter evenings and a piano you can share with us. The front porch is the perfect place to enjoy quiet morning coffee or evening sunsets. Use one of the picnic tables on the patio outside the kitchen door for an al fresco picnic. We offer a continental style breakfast in our dining area of juice, coffee, tea, toast, cold cereals, Evelyn's home made muffins, fruit of the season and local organic maple syrup. Use the main wheelchair accessible entrance which leads directly to your bedrooms and bathroom, or enjoy the private patio entrance to the larger queen bedroom. • A little 'out of the way' on a private lake. A beautiful home, with a very interesting couple, a friendly dog, Riley, and a large independent cat. We wish we could have stayed longer to get to know them better, but had a very comfortable visit.

  • Our stay at Evelyn and Don's was very pleasant! They were flexible when our arrival time changed and they were easy to communicate with and quick to reply. They have a beautiful home and pets, we enjoyed our breakfasts on the porch chatting with them. Highly recommend!

  • Don and Evelyn's cottage was a pleasant surprise. My girlfriend and I have been to many Air BNBs and we haven't had this level of privacy as well as this level of friendliness from the owners of the property. They were very personable and very easy going. They were upstairs and we had our own room with our own entrance, the hosts were knowledgeable of the surrounding area, Don was very kind and a thrill to have around. They were kind of enough to let us use their kitchen one of the nights to make dinner while they went out for dinner, and we also had a bonfire with Don, the lake they're on is beautiful and private/quiet as well. Both their pets were very sweet, Riley stole our hearts the moment we met her, such a sweet dog! I highly recommend booking this air bnb, with it being near Gore Bay, it is centralized on the island, everything pretty much on the island is within reasonable driving distance. Thanks again Don and Evelyn!

  • This was exactly what we were looking for, to disconnect. We loved having our own private hideaway; it was an added bonus it was so close to the downtown core of Gore Bay. The views were amazing. We spent time at the brewery and walking along the water. We also chose this place for its proximity to water bc we love to kayak. The cabin was super clean; loved the smell of the wood inside. The sauna was also a great amenity. I wish we would have stayed longer!

The cabin is secluded, but yet town is right there. I love it. Gore Bay is cute and quaint. The locals are friendly. Great location. Can't wait to visit again. :)

  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It is very secluded and beautiful. It is only a couple minute drive to the Gore Bay look out which we would drive to and watch the sunset. Our dog was able to run the property freely. It was our first time using a bag style camp shower which was interesting for a 5 day stay but the sauna made it much more bearable. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

The property is simply amazing, from the incredible views of the lakefront to the spacious home and property you will want for nothing, Cindy home is equipped with all the comforts of home and then some. Knowing I only needed to bring beach towels as an extra made our family vacation less hectic and stressful. From the initial booking to the day we checked out the entire process was easy and effortless due to Cindy's promptness with communication and availability. Highly recommend Cindy's place for your home away from home. Enjoy!

Rooms very comfortable and air conditioned ground level. Bathrooms clean and have very modern touches like heated floors towel dry etc. Highly recommended thanks for an awesome stay

  • The location is idyllic with wager on two sides of the property. A great cottage with lots of deck and a great fire pit by the lake. Inside there is a Jacuzzi tub, European multi jet shower, large large screen TV with great sound. Kitchen and space to feed a small army. Every appliance you could ask for and a hot tub!! Cindy is the perfect host - on hand when you need her and invisible when you want privacy. I can't recommend Cindy or this property more highly. I will be back.

    Norm2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage! Very modern and unbelievably comfortable! They have absolutely everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Very private, relaxing and dog friendly . Thanks Cindy!

  • My family of five enjoyed Cindy and Ted’s house immensely. It was clean and outfitted with luxurious touches: huge satellite TV with recliner loungers, towel warmer in the bathroom, double oven in the kitchen and upscale appliances, and many more. The beds were comfortable and it was a real plus to have all the linens and bath towels provided. There was plenty of room to relax and stretch out, and the huge wrap-around deck provided numerous vantage points to enjoy the gorgeous lake views. This was not roughing it by any stretch of the imagination! We rented a kayak from an outfitter only a few minutes down the main highway so that we could paddle around the quiet, but large, shallow lake. We loved the fact that we didn’t see a single mosquito! You could actually sit outside unimpeded. A Valu-mart and LCBO are located in Gore Bay, only a few minutes away. We especially enjoyed the Cup and Saucer Hiking Trail with its jaw-dropping views, as well as the Bridal Veil Falls. Cindy was so kind and hospitable! Communication was quick and effortless, and when we had a question or needed something, she responded instantly and went out of her way to make sure we were enjoying our visit. I highly recommend the Tobacco Lake Retreat and look forward to returning in the future!

  • Wonderful place to stay, Patrick and Betty are super A+++

    Dustin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 3 nights at Lakeshore B&B in Kagawong and were very pleased. The facilities are very clean and the location is convenient on Manitoulin Island. The dock and sunset views are incredible. It was very nice to have have private bathroom, with super fluffy towels, and access to kitchenette and common area, where we enjoyed chatting with other guests. The provided breakfast items--muffins, juice, bread and toast fixings, fruit, yoghurt, coffee and tea-- much appreciated as a start for busy days spent exploring Manitoulin, as there aren't many breakfast restaurants nearby (and less so in the off season). You can bring supplemental foods as well for variety ; we got some stuff at the local grocery. Other reviews mentioned a cat, Sophie, which concerned me due to allergies, but the cat is not an issue, so have no fear. The 4 bedrooms and common areas of the B&B are in a separate addition to the house and there is no interaction with any animals that may be in the house. Host Patrick was very helpful at check-in time.

    Jennifer2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with a gorgeous dock and water access. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the common spaces as we got to meet other travellers. We would definitely stay here again!

  • The location by the lake ist really beautiful. The room was very clean. Very friendly hosts. We would books it again.

    Thomas2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at this lovely B&B. We were greeted right away by Becky and their kittie Sophie and felt right at home. After camping it was nice to have our own private bathroom and a hot shower. The highlight of our stay was relaxing on the dock watching the perfect sunset over the water! Woke up and had ourselves a nice breakfast before getting back on the road.

    Anna2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay with Patrick and Becky! Check in was easy and quick. Patrick was very helpful in providing some suggestions of things to do. The room is simply decorated, but it is spotless. And yes, the sunsets truly are as spectacular as advertised. This is a great value and a lovely quiet place to stay. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Hidden jam in Manitoulin Island. Perfect for a group of 12 people. It was quite windy and the paddle boat was broken that’s why we couldn’t enjoy in the private beach. However, we had a pleasant stay in Betty’s place. Nearby amenities, access to beach, fishing docks, Bridal Veil Falls, hiking and walking trails are great for family vacation. Betty responded to my all emails and queries promptly. We appreciate her quick email response system.

  • We stayed only for a night at Jacqueline’s place. She provided information and direction very clearly. She was such a wonderful host. Replied fast to our messages. She provided all necessity incl good quality and clean towels, soaps, shampoo, water bottles, coffee, teas, cereals. She also provided an extra electric fireplace in our bedroom. Her place was very clean and beautiful. The backyard was very picturesque, we saw some deers, and also only a few steps away from the Marina. Everything was awesome. We would stay there again. Thanks so much Jacqueline!

  • Jacqueline is a absolutely wonderful host. We stood for only one night and would have stayed longer if the place would have been available. She made us feel like home and had great tips for the island todos. View from her place is truly beautiful.

  • Jacqueline‘s house is a wondeful place to spend some time on the Manitoulin Island. She is truly a great host - taking such good care of her guests. She recommended us a great dinner which we really loved. Gore Bay where the house is located is a magnificent place with deer, the water directly there and a peaceful athmosphere! We absolutely loved it!

    Anja2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jacqueline's AirBnB was spacious, very clean and private. She was very welcoming as a host. My partner and I only did a quick overnight stay but the washroom/towels were great and the room was nice and cozy. Only suggestions would be the temperature (it was a bit chilly) and perhaps a nice touch could be slippers for feet. Otherwise, they supplied us with coffee, water and a few snacks, which was really nice and the place was easy enough to find. Their property is stunning; we hope to book a longer stay for next time.

We have a spacious home with two extra bedrooms and a dedicated bathroom to offer. With one queen bedroom and one room with two beds, it's perfect for small groups of travellers or families with children who wish to have their own bedroom. The dedicated bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms and has grab bars, two sinks (one wheelchair accessible) and tub with a shower.
Easy access to cycling, golfing, hiking, sightseeing, artisan shops and the quiet relaxed setting for which Manitoulin Island is famous.
  • Don & Evelyn are a wonderful host & hostess. They made us feel very welcome in their home.  Evelyn's baking is delicious and nutritious! Bedrooms are spacious and nicely decorated.  What a pleasant surprize to find plastic cups in the bathroom and a mini-fridge in the bedroom!  A beautiful, peaceful, waterfront retreat! Thank you again, Don & Evelyn. :)

    Kim2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I brought my father on a mini vacation and booked 2 nights at Evelyn and Don's Airbnb. We had a wonderful time. It is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and perfectly situated in the middle of the island, on a quiet, private lake. We had 2 bedrooms, a private bathroom and a walk out to a great deck. Evelyn and Don are a pleasure to visit with, very accommodating and gracious hosts. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys a peaceful, relaxing place and would definitely visit again!

    Janet2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky to find Evelyn and Don's place. Two bedrooms with beds were just right for our family. House is very clean, beds are comfortable. House is conveniently located within 30 minutes drive from Bridal Veil Falls, Cup and Saucer trail in one direction and Misery bay in another directions. And only 10 minutes drive from town of Gore Bay, that has some eateries and walking routes. Breakfast was provided, that was a great bonus. Evelyn and Don are very welcoming hosts. They contacted us before we arrived and provided detailed directions, that made our arrival very easy. Don gave helpful tips about the area attractions (see above). Evelyn's muffins were amazing and review won't be complete without mentioning Riley, the most friendliest dog, we've ever met. My kids are still talking about her. Thank you very much Don and Evelyn for the amazing stay.

  • Evelyn and Don provided an enjoyable stay in their spacious home on a private lake. The beds were very comfortable and made cosy with Evelyn's hand made quilts (works of art). Don provided a wealth of suggestions for sight seeing and dining. Their dog Riley was quiet, gentle and affectionate. Whether you are looking for a wooded, secluded beautifully peaceful retreat location or a home-base for adventuring, Evelyn and Don's home is highly recommended.

  • Evelyn and Don are perfect host: always kind and their hospitality is really warm. The place is amazing. You feel like home and in Heaven. Really relaxing and quiet. A special mention to Evelyn' s muffins and to Rylie (a sweet sweet border collie): you will love them :) You will love your staying at Nelson's house if you look for quiet, nature and wild with all the comforts.

Just Relax-inn & Massage Studio is a cottagey home/studio 10 kms past Kagawong on Maple Point. You’ll love the comfy bed, the cozyness, the friendly hostess, and the Massage Studio services. Many of my guests treat themselves to a reflexology or foot massage in the early evening, then in the morning, a relaxing back massage to start their day. My guest room is suitable for 1 couple or a female traveller. It will feel like a retreat. Note: I do not provide breakfast, but you can use the kitchen.
A rustic cottagy small 2 bedroom home with a home spa-business studio.
Located on the outskirts of Kagawong (10 km of unpaved road) in the maple woods of Maple Point, depending on the time of year, you may see the deer that frequent the property, hear owls hooting at night, and the chorus of peepers from the nearby wetlands, and very little if any traffic and people sounds. Just Relax-inn is a short walk down the quiet road from the once famous Dodge Lodge Estate. See the internet about the Dodge Lodge Manitoulin.....for some interesting reading about the Dodge Vehicle Family. The lodge is now privately owned but the interesting legends remain and newspaper articles and a display can be seen at the Old Mill Museum in Kagawong or read online.
  • Ardiss's place was a place of retreat and calm. I was on Manitoulin Island for work and found this gem , a cozy cottage. It was my first time booking a "private room" with Air BnB. It was an exceptional experience. Ardiss went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, with so many beautiful touches. The amenities were fabulous and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Thank you for this experience Ardiss. I will be back (and I would highly recommend this accommodation)!

  • Patrick and Becky’s place is absolutely amazing! Waterfront sunsets in a quiet relaxing setting. The room was clean, with clean linens, towels and bathroom. Free wifi and food for breakfast in the common room kitchen. Overall outstanding service and highly recommend anyone to stay there

  • Patrick's and Becky's place is amazing. We didn't expect such a nice countryside and were only here for a one night stop, unfortunately. We would have loved to stayed longer. The apartment is super clean, has comfy beds, good breakfast, nice areas to hang out and the countryside is truly awesome. Go here, if you are in the area!

  • Very friendly host. Accomodation perfect. Everything was excellent.

    Astrid2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were great, very friendly and made check-in very easy for us. The room we stayed in was a good size, very clean and with a really comfortable bed. The dock on the lake was beautiful for watching the sunset. The location was also quite good, being very close to Bridal Veil Falls and only about a 20 minute drive from Gore Bay, where there are a couple restaurants, a brewery, a grocery store and museums. Overall we had a great stay!

    Chelsea2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time at Patrick and Becky's! The room was very clean and comfortable and the setting was beautiful. They have a private deck that sits across the road (20 second walk) where you can sit and enjoy a beer/fish. We were on SS motorcycles with no space/saddlebags to take everything we needed so they even offered us a few things which were not able to take with us and were not a part of the agreement but they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I highly recommend this place which is also very close to the marina and the bridal veil waterfall(must see).
