Places to stay in Clear Lake
This is a charming house that is always sparkly clean!! I love to bake so there might be some warm cookies or fresh baked goods to share :) Come enjoy what Clear Lake has to offer. Including the lake less than a mile away with a beach front!
The cozy bedroom is all yours! All other places will be shared :)
Small town with everything you would need. Grocery store, gas station, multiple bars, restaurants, and lake all less than 1 mile away.
  • Cute, older home. The guest room is small, comfortable, and very clean. There is no lock on the guestroom door, and normally this would make me nervous, but since the host and I are both women, and the main doors were securely locked, I was fine. The restroom was very clean. During my stay, there was a major snowstorm and Cassie did a great job keeping the driveway clear of snow! This made it easy to come and go and I didn't have to worry about getting stuck. I will definitely stay again.

  • Part two of my late October trip. Cassie fully understood and was ok with me leaving a one night gap in my week long reservation, to spend time in the cities. I will definitely be back at some point and highly recommend if your looking for a convenient place.

  • Part one of my late October stay. If your looking for a fall getaway this place would be a great choice! I’m not sure what warmed my heart more the fall decorations, leaves falling or warm home. Cassie is very fast in responding to communications. I look forward to staying here hopefully many time in future trips to the area.

    Cody2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Although I did not personally meet Cassie (nor her dog) as our schedules were slightly different and we were both always going. She was very fast to respond, extremely considerate and kept the place clean. I could tell Cassie focuses on the valuable little details (like a small basket of local travel books, leaving a light on if I wasn’t home yet, or keeping her dog upstairs when she wasn’t home). I loved my stay. I wasn’t woken up any of the days I wanted to sleep in. She made me feel comfortable and I felt I could ask her anything. She has a very well behaved dog that was basically silent and no barking and in its own space for most of my trip.

    Cody2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cassie could not have been a more gracious hostess! She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable in her home during our lengthy stay. She even picked up our online grocery order in a neighboring town. We loved spoiling little Ollie. (Ollie will be kept in his private area if that is what the guest prefers). We HIGHLY recommend Cassie’s place and would definitely stay again!

  • Their farm is adorable! The view is amazing with farm fields, cute outbuildings and a nice trail to walk. A gem of a place in a rural area but close enough to the cities to get to quickly. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very attentive to any questions we had. Thank you for opening up your place to visitors.

  • They were very hospitable, bringing us fresh chicken eggs! The Airbnb is a ways up the drive way from the main residence, so it feels private. We loved it. Very cozy, clean, and high quality linens and pillows.

SoulSpace is home to 50+ rescued farm animals. Our mission is to help end cruelty to farm animals and promote compassionate living through rescue, education, and advocacy. Check in with Kara, the Founder of SoulSpace, have a personal tour of the Sanctuary, then spend your visit relaxing on the peaceful 11 acre property, and spending as much time with the animals as you would like. Stillwater has many options for great food and nightlife and is a 15-20 minute drive from the sanctuary.
You will love the privacy & serenity of the newly finished top floor attic space, along with your own bathroom that includes a Jacuzzi tub. If you need a breather or a place to reset, this is the place. This property, and the animals that call it their home, have a magical way of making all things right again. At SoulSpace, we disconnect, to reconnect. http://www.standout-cabin-designs.com/the-olde-farmhouse.html
Located just outside of New Richmond, WI. We are a short 3 minute car ride into town and there is a bar/restaurant/bowling alley within walking distance. We are a 15 minute drive to beautiful downtown Stillwater, MN.
  • It was such a great place to stay! My wife and I spent Valentine's day there and it was a blast!

    Robert2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I went to Soulspace for her birthday getaway weekend. We are both vegan and Kara gave us some good suggestions. The house is all vegan and they are excellent to the animal residents. Great smells often fill the kitchen and animal sounds fill the air! The location is great. It is in a pretty rural town. It is calming to be away from things. However, in a pinch, civilization is nearby in the surprisingly hopping downtown of Stillwater, MN, only 20 minutes away. We tried out Tilted Tiki, which had a fun tropical theme and a unique cover band on Saturday night. They have a well labeled menu with many vegan options. It's mostly a "mock-meat" menu, but they really surprised us with their marinated (actual) tofu "wings" and pineapple fried rice. Creative drinks, too! The next day, we drove into the Twin Cities to see the Mall of America (try the food at "Crave" while there) and capped the evening off with dinner at the all plant-based Minneapolis restaurant "Fig + Farro." Upscale dining with really creative flavors! A must. The sanctuary itself is wonderful. The large attic-type room has tons of great amenities and is a few steep steps above the bathroom, which is also yours. There is plenty to help you unwind: a coffee machine, fridge, a record player, Alexa, Netflix, old school Nintendo, art supplies etc. It felt very welcoming and easy to relax. Make sure you're not running too much stuff at once or you'll trip a breaker, but that's nothing to fret much about. We didn't have time to try out the awesome-looking tub, but it looked very relaxing. Kara leaves you space to yourselves, but is also easily available if you need a suggestion, help or an offer for some homemade soup. One of the workers was staying in the house as well and he was very nice (he made some nice-smelling pancakes). The house has a lot of animals (dogs, cats, Hey Hey the rooster) and you'll probably find one or two of the critters wander into your room. We really bonded with one of the cats, who slept us one night. We went outside and hung out with the animals wherever we had a moment and it was fun to learn about their different personalities. There are a ton of awesome birds. The donkey Amos and goat Tally were like brothers and the turkeys will follow you around curiously like they own the place. It's funny. The farm pigs are so huge and gentle. You always think about pigs having huge snouts, but their ears are enormous. They are intelligent animals and it's comforting to know they have a place to live out their lives. We are already talking about coming back to visit someday. Go here... you won't regret it.

    Eric2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Animals were amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The upstairs attic was so cozy on a cold winter weekend!

    Scott2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We chose SoulSpace to celebrate our engagement. If you want an experience that nurtures you spirit and soul, this is the destination you're looking for. The entire place is infused with a sense of welcome and tranquility. Kara's attention to detail is AMAZING. Everything was beautiful and lovely. The only glitch we had was a bit of allergies cropping up. But otherwise, HIGHLY recommend this experience. It can be life changing! Thank you SO much Kara!!!

    Kyle2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kara’s home was amazing! The private suite was something out a magazine. She even gave us a tour of the Animal Sanctuary and let us meet all the rescues. Would highly recommend this stay, especially if you need a nice retreat from the city.

    Alexandria2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable escape from everyday life. Very friendly volunteers!

    Mary2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The photos of this place do not do it justice. This is an amazing location & the animals are all wonderful. I nearly died because of the turkeys that welcomed us (kidding) & it was hilarious when they charged at me. I’m from the city so i’ve never been around so many farm animals unless they’re in the zoo! ahaha. Getting upstairs, the place blew my mind. My fiancé loved the decor & is exactly what we want for our house. We were so comfortable here & would love to stay for more than a night next time we do stay. Thank you so much for hosting us. This place is so worth it.

    Josmar2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • This space is such a gem!! The calming homey energy, the beautiful relaxing space, hospitality, and loving animals created the perfect space for a weekend get away for me and my partner! I would highly recommend!! Even though it was rainy just watching the animals free and happy were so tranquil and the space itself was so roomy and relaxing! We will definitely be back!

  • This place was very quaint and exactly as described. The only hiccup was getting luggage up and down from the loft due to the layout - but still 5 stars from us!

  • This is a comfortable, quiet and secluded location. The pictures are accurate. Jonna was very responsive to our messages. We had a very relaxing stay.

    Robert2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jonna’s place was a lovely weekend getaway! It had all the necessary amenities and the host left several notes explaining everything we needed to know to enjoy our trip. She was easy to contact and extremely friendly. The loft overlooking the lake is something I wish I could wake up to every morning!

    Ifeoluwa2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting and quiet retreat. Jonna was quick to answer any questions and the space was perfect for a quiet weekend. It rained all Saturday and we took full advantage of the quiet, the coziness and the scrabble board. We were even able to take a short ride in the canoe when the rain subsided for a few moments.

    Julie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and unique setting. Loved the loft bedroom and the view was great. A few areas of the home are still under some cosmetic construction but nothing that interferes with daily living. Would absolutely reccomend this location as a quiet getaway.

    Madisen2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jonna’s place was the perfect package. We went as a mini moon after our wedding and it exceeded expectations! The loft sleep felt like you were in a treehouse. It was very quiet and peaceful. We took the canoe out on the lake and it was beautiful. Highly recommend this cozy getaway!

    Becca2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Really feels like youre out in the middle of nowhere. Close enough to go into town and do stuff, but far enough where you feel like youre in the middle of the woods. Loved the cabin! Treehouse like for sure!! Has everything you'll need for a getaway!

This modern luxury cabin in the woods is tucked away on 13 private acres of secluded riverfront a little over an hour east of the Twin Cities. Styled with mid-century furniture, a modern well equipped kitchen, a bath with a Jacuzzi for one, heated stone floors, as well as wifi, blu-ray, and bluetooth connectivity to the stereo, this 2 bedroom gem has everything an urban dweller (and their kids!) need to relax, create, heal and come back feeling great!
Large windows immerse you and your loved ones in the wild forest all around you, as you live alongside beaver, eagle, heron, and deer. Two cozy queen sized beds, plump with featherbeds, one in the loft overlooking the river and the starry sky, the fresh air, and the peaceful silence mean you will sleep deeply and restore. Spend the day lazily canoeing down the river past sandstone bluffs with bald eagles and return to cook and eat a gourmet meal, with a fire in the wood stove while the setting sun glistens on the river beyond. Or bring your laptop to the hammock next to the house and drift off to sleep after a productive and inspired few hours. Watch as the kids fish off the private dock, or explore the the forest and freshwater creek. Enjoy the songs of hundreds of birds in the forest, and the cooling breeze off the river out your front door. Relax in a beautiful bath with a Jacuzzi after a long day in the sun. When the day is done, slip between the feather beds and the down quilts in the loft overlooking the river and the starry sky. This is a quiet space, perfect for creative retreats or meditation, pal weekends, or a romantic few days together. Many people spend their honeymoon or babymoon here. The cabin has a TV with a blu-ray dvd player for your Netflix input. The midcentury speakers can connect to your own music library with simple to use bluetooth connectivity, filling the space with the music you enjoy. This is also a perfect place for young children to experience the natural world with their parents. There are family board games and classic children's toys for slowing down as a family in the evening or on rainy days. Later this spring, in addition to a family friendly canoe, we have two kayaks for discovering the natural world of this forested river and gliding silently past wildlife of all kinds that make their homes on either side and above you. If you portage, the Hay River going south from the dam in Prairie Farm is an undiscovered gem, and will take you on a day long voyage from one accessible pick up to the next. Bring any favorite outdoor games for playing on the riverside yard. Confirmed guests can view an extensive list of nearby parks for activities like biking, hiking, and a list of restaurants if you chose to leave the cabin. You can arrive the morning after you make your reservation. This river is only a little over an hour from the Cities and a world apart.
Confirmed guests can view a list of nearby areas for biking, hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing, as well as places to eat in the area. While not a tourist area, Prairie Farm offers the urban traveler a private space near the city with a sense of the wilderness intact.
  • A beautiful retreat with heated floors, a one person hot tub, Bluetooth speakers, fireplace, and really comfortable beds and pillows, with a great view of the nearby river and woods. Definitely a 5 out of 5, would stay again.

  • Liz's cabin in the woods was a perfect getaway. Quiet, cozy, and clean. We'll be back.

    Zach2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is amazing!! Went with a group of two couples and it was a fantastic winter retreat. We brought snowshoes to explore, played a lot of games (we brought some but there are also a few standards there), curled up to watch a movie, and spent time cooking in the beautiful (and small) kitchen. Everything in the house was thoughtful and beautiful. Definitely a place we would come back to. One note: The space is small and intimate, you can easily hear each other talk from one room to another. For our group this was really fun, but just so you know, there’s not a lot of privacy.

  • This cabin was absolutely magical— I’ve had to share the listing with so many clients, I fear I won’t be able to return in the summer like I’m planning to. Great place to get away and get cozy for a bit, no matter the season. I felt surrounded by beauty indoors & out, and anyone considering Elizabeth’s property can rest assured they’ll feel the same way.

    Zoe2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible little cabin. We were looking for a little hygge in the middle of the cold winter, and Liz's cabin was exactly what we were hoping for. It was very clean and cozy with the wood burning stove - she even had it burning for us when we arrived. The location was fantastic - we loved exploring the woods and the creek nearby. Such a great place to disconnect and take a retreat. Liz was great with communicating with us and very friendly. Lot's of helpful tips, which we took advantage of. Highly recommend!

Just a little over an hour from the Twin Cities, this lakefront property has all you need for that perfect summer vacation. Located on beautiful Balsam Lake, this unit comes with two complete living spaces, making it perfect for large groups who want to vacation together but also want some privacy, couples looking for a romantic getaway, or business colleagues looking for a retreat. Swimming, fishing, bird watching, great walks, the Leeland cabin has it all. Memories are made at the lake!
This up and down cabin has two bedrooms upstairs and one down, along with sofa sleepers on both floors. Each level has its own kitchen, bath and living room so there is plenty of room for guests to spread out and engage in separate activities. Movies downstairs don't interfere with card games on the upper level. The two well-appointed kitchens make feeding a crew of hungry vacationers easy, and with two refrigerators, there is plenty of space to store all your food and beverages so you don't have to spend loads of time running to the store. The lower level of the cabin is level with the lake and there is a dock on the property for tying up boats, fishing and sunbathing. The upper level has a deck and there is a covered patio off the lower level. The yard is spacious and offers plenty of space for marshmallow roasts, barbecue, and lawn games.
Balsam Lake is a 1901 acre lake located in Polk County. It has a maximum depth of 37 feet. There are several public boat landings and plenty of good fishing. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Several small towns are located near the lake, offering shopping, dining and some recreational opportunities. The museum in Balsam Lake is always a fun outing. The property is located in what is commonly known as the "Narrows" of the lake, which shelters it from wind. Mirror-like water is not uncommon on nice afternoons, making it ideal for water sports.
  • Seriously I cannot think of words that could possibly do justice to our impressions of Brad and Laura’s place. My family went over Christmas and they even had decorations out! The amenities actually shocked us and I needn’t have brought any cooking utensils or spices or pans or even coffee. Extremely well equipped is not an overstatement. If you’re on the fence, you couldn’t do any better. Cheers to Brad and Laura and many thanks.

  • This house is an absolute haven. Wonderful!!

    Brian2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • There is something very special about Laura and Brad's cabin! We used it for a girls get away weekend and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. It is spacious, comfortable and the views are spectacular. It had everything we were looking for and so much more. We would book this wonderful place again without any hesitation. 5 Stars all around!!

    Sharon2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place! The lake was beautiful in the fall! The house was perfect for our 3 generation fall trip. It was much bigger than we pictured it to be and had a great layout. Coffee on the deck in the summer would be fabulous! It was very well stocked with kitchen and bathroom needs. I don't think one weekend was enough, we'll have to plan for more next time. Thanks Laura and Brad!

  • Great place!

    Karen2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was such a nice host. Her place was so comfortable, spotless and relaxing. She had everything we needed to make it feel like home. Love the place all around. There were plenty of extra towels and all the necessities for the bathroom. Thank goodness for the iron and ironing board! We had to touch up some wedding clothes. The “kitchen” area had a great little coffee pot, all the dishes we needed, toaster (which came in handy for our bagels), mini fridge, toaster oven-it was complete. The view to the lake every morning and evening was surreal. My only regret was I didn’t get to stick my toes in the water. Maybe next time. We highly recommend staying here!!! If your lucky, you will meet her two kitties. Very friendly little cats. Thanks for everything!!!

    Jane2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karin was a wonderful host and made us feel right at home! We got in late and were so pleased to get some advice on the local eats and things to do. They even hung out with our pup so we could sneak away for dinner! We enjoyed sipping coffee on the pergola and sitting on the dock looking at the night sky. With Taylor's Falls only 20 min away we did some amazing hiking and had a lovely canoe trip down the St. Croix. We highly recommend the Franconia sculpture garden as well. Was an amazing get away so close to the twin cities! Highly recommend!

    Garrett2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great visit. Warm welcome. Excellent hospitality. Karin was especially good with our son, who’s on the Autism Spectrum. Lovely location on the lake. Eagle sitings over morning coffee. Canoes and kayaks available (though we didn’t use them). Kitchen had: microwave, toaster, hot plate and small fridge, so we had lots of meals on the patio in spite of the cool and wet weather. We used the grocery in Amery. Maybe bring water shoes since the lake has some rocks. Tips: Have a drink/meal at the supper club (burgers are recommended). Farm Table in Amery was great. Amery Ale House is fun, with good food and drink.

  • Cindy’s place is a great getaway when you need a little me time. The trailer is cozy and warm and is quite spacious. There is bunk beds if you have kids and a queen sized murphy bed for the rents! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice nature getaway with a wonderful host!

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, very quiet & peaceful. Extremely accommodating hosts, Cindy & her husband were amazing. They even gave us some fresh grape tomatoes from their garden; yum! As well as a $10 gift certificate for the bar & restaurant right by their house. Our second visit in the past few months, & we will for sure be back soon!

  • Beautiful spot! Nicely furnished and decorated cabin. Loved the paddleboat rides we took every evening and the raft was an added bonus. Had cocktails on it one afternoon. The lake is so calm and quiet, it's like being all by yourself on a lake in the woods. Our dog loved exploring and riding in the paddleboat with us. My husband fished every morning and evening while I relaxed reading a book in the sun. Thanks, Stephanie! We were lucky to have a great host to respond quickly to any of our questions.

    Steven2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding property. Remote and comfortable. The wifi and local television helped us stay in touch and kept us apprised when the storm that hit. Stephanie and Eric are top notch hosts!! They were at the front door the morning after and made us their main priority, when they had multiple properties damaged. They went to work and cleared the driveway and allowed us to go home by the afternoon. Once again, AWESOME!!

A large, well equipped kitchen allows the cook to be part of the fun in this open area. Enjoy a fire while listening to your family play cribbage or Monopoly on chilly fall evenings. This space is large enough to be set up for days worth of scrapbooking with family and friends. A dining table with the lake view seats the entire family, but who wants to eat indoors during the summer when you can picnic at the lakeside after grilling some mouth-watering steaks. Rainy days are no problem as you can enjoy the outdoors on the covered porch or just hop in the car and go to Shell Lake, Rice Lake, Cumberland or Turtle Lake. Moonlight Mooring has internet and TV, but likely you will be having so much fun, you will forget to turn on the electronics! Outdoor Spaces Upper Turtle Lake has a sandy bottom, and is a large, fully recreational lake where anglers can catch bluegill, large-mouth bass, walleye and northern pike and you can enjoy all water sports. Bring your own boat, use our canoe and kayaks or rent our pontoon. The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful old growth hard wood trees including maples and oaks which provide spectacular fall color. Spend your afternoons fishing from the dock, napping in the hammock in the shade of the trees or visiting on the porch. Moonlight Mooring is literally just steps away from the lake, down a gentle slope. There is a grassy area at the lake's edge, so you can spread out a blanket and relax near the water . Parents can keep an eye on the kids from the porch while reading a book in serenity. Young children will enjoy hours of fun having their own get away in the replica A-frame playhouse which doubles as an overnight bunkhouse for pre-teens. In the evening, enjoy s’mores around your lakeside fire pit while telling ghost stories or reliving the great day you had on the water. There is a double garage to protect your car from the elements during the winter. Nearby Amenities If you love winter sports from ice fishing, to snowshoeing, snowmobiling or skiing, you have come to the right place. There are many hiking, biking, cross country and snowmobile trails throughout the area including in Interstate State Park, Governor Knowles State Forest or Straight Lake State Park. Beach buffs will love the sandy beaches with play ground equipment and picnic shelters at Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland, Shell Lake, Rice Lake or Balsam Lake all about 15-20 minute drive away. Locally, there is a small beach on the Lake or you can take a short drive over to Pipe Lake which has a lovely sandy swimming beach near the public boat access. This area is a hunter’s paradise with many wooded and field areas offering abundant game. With 15 regional golf courses just a short drive away, there is a course for every type of duffer! No trip to Wisconsin is complete without going to one of the iconic supper clubs for dinner. If you still have energy after a full day on the lake, hiking or, in the winter, skiing or snowmobiling, nearby Turtle Lake offers a casino for adult entertainment. Neighboring Cumberland, the Island City, has a small town charm and fantastic dining. Another option is to build your campfire right on the lake, roast hot dogs and make s'mores (we provide the firewood). After the kids are down, enjoy a well deserved soak in our hot tub as you watch the sunset and enjoy the stars coming out while being serenaded by the loons and owls. Nearly every week throughout the summer there are local festivals, dairy feeds, art fairs and music to add to this memorable vacation.
The home is on a premier recreational and fishing lake that stays clean throughout the summer. There are neighbors, but you won't see them through the thick woods in the summer. We are three miles outside Turtle Lake in an area of multiple scenic lakes and rivers and near four major state parks and forest land. Public boat landing & park with small beach on other side of lake, but lakes with sandy beaches/playgrounds/picnic shelters within 15-20 minutes include Shell Lake, Rice Lake, Balsam Lake and Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland. Pipe Lake also has a small swimming beach. Many great recreational and fishing lakes and streams nearby as well as smaller quieter lakes for canoeing/kayaking. There are plenty of biking and hiking trails nearby and ATV/snowmobile trailhead is within walking distance to property. Turtle Lake, Barron, Cumberland and Rice Lake all have shopping, good restaurants and pretty city parks. There are several supper clubs in the area (a must do) and the Turtle Lake casino is 3 miles away. Trollhaugen ski resort is 20 minutes away, there are 3 excellent golf courses in the area. For a fun day, float down the Apple River or kayak on the Namekagon near Trego. This area has almost weekly festivals and gatherings. Spend a day or two in Hayward to enjoy the Lumberjack festival in the summer or the American Birkebeiner (or Birkie) the longest and largest cross country ski race in the US in the winter. See the great ore boats and the gorgeous scenery in Duluth, about 90 minutes away. It is vacation central!
  • Our group of 6 had a wonderful experience at Moonlight Mooring. Beautiful location right on the lake. We enjoyed the fireplace immensely and cooked some great meals in the well stocked kitchen. Capping off our evenings was a soak in the hot tub, a full moon and snow all around us - perfect!! Comfortable beds and plenty of towels. We brought some games along to play over the weekend and appreciated finding a good selection already in the cabin. We'd love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake and pontoon. Thank you for your hospitality!!

  • You cannot go wrong at moonlight mooring. Beautiful property and professional owners - great weekend get away. Check it out!

  • Beautiful cabin! Multiple areas to gather for meal preps, eating, snacking, hot tubing, fireplace, reading, and games, etc. Multiple comfy sleeping spaces for small groups. Two bathrooms, great for multiple people. Decor, lake views, and architecture of the space made for a unique and memorable cabin experience. It’s a more affordable rental if splitting cost multiple ways for a friend gathering etc. On the higher side of cost if only one couple or one family renting. We look forward to returning for another girls weekend!

  • Outstanding communication, great views, lovely accommodations, and quite a quick drive to lots of Wisconsin sights. Would highly recommend again.

    Nicolas2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great big open cabin! We loved it. 7 men stayed here for 3 nights and rode about 250 miles of trails. The hot tub was practically a necessity that was used daily. We loved the board games. We were too tired at the end of every day, so we didn't use the fire pit or fire place. But plan on it the next trip.

  • If you are ever in the general area of Amery, Wisconsin, please don't miss out on the opportunity to stay at Jenna's beautiful home just a few minutes outside of town. We will absolutely be staying there again when we visit family in Amery.

    Terry2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and spacious. Really well taken care of and comfortable. I loved it.

    Nathan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna's place is outstanding. She has a unique and beautiful home. We are repeat guests and enjoy it every time. Her farmhouse is on the property of Amery Ale Works, but has virtually no noise from the restaurant that can be heard at the house. The space is beautiful and was very comfortable and fun for our family of four. The house is very well stocked with everything you could need during your stay. And Jenna has an excellent taste and style, so everything is wonderfully set up and decorated. We will definitely be back!

    Karen2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jenna’s place is the perfect weekend getaway! She has thought of everything! Pictures don’t do it justice at all! Spacious, comfortable, clean, and inviting. The master bed was so comfortable, I slept better than I have anyplace. The grounds are well maintained. Can’t go wrong with this place.

    Whitney2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Super friendly service and wonderful accommodations!well kept up place!

  • Very well kept and clean property

    Nicholas2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • So, I admit, I was a little nervous about staying on the site of a brewery with two small kids who go to bed early. But it was just lovely. Jenna's home is spacious and cozy at the same time. She has great taste and that is reflected in her home. She makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive (or even before). And truly, from inside you can't hear any noise from the patrons on the other side of the wide lawn. Even from the outside deck, it is barely noticeable. Plus, it was fun to run across and grab a beer at her great establishment. Jenna was such a gracious host and her home was so lovely, I was sorry that we were only there for a couple of days.

Relax to the sound of the Apple River and watch eagles soar at this peaceful riverfront retreat. Century-old cottage near Amery, WI has 2 BRs, 1 BA & full kitchen. Less than 60 miles from the MSP airport & close to state parks, recreational lakes, downhill and XC skiing, wineries, golf, galleries, restaurants and more. Not set up for children. No safe access to the river from the property, but many nearby options to fish, kayak, etc. Fall/winter bookings, see note below. LICENSE. #76856.
This 1918 cottage sits atop a 50-foot ridge overlooking the river. I use it as my own get-away from a busy job in Minneapolis and want to share it with others who are seeking a respite and change of pace. I've furnished it with some of my favorite antiques, artwork and family treasures, including my great grandmother's dining room table she bought in 1901. The cottage is located in a friendly, rural community and is close to high-quality restaurants, pottery studios and one of Wisconsin's famed supper clubs. It's rural but not remote. Great for families with children 16 and older, friends and couples comfortable with cozy quarters. Solo travelers welcome. Access to the river is discouraged, as it is rugged and unsafe. Descend at your own risk. Stairs to the basement are extremely steep. Fall/winter travelers please note: The upstairs attic loft bedroom does not have a heat register. Rising heat and extra blankets make it cozy, but it can get chilly. Space heaters are not allowed for safety reasons, so please be aware of this if there are more than two people in your party. (I sometimes sleep up there in the winter, but it's not for everyone!) In summer, both bedrooms have window air conditioning units. Ceiling fans, the river breeze and leafy trees usually keep the cottage quite comfortable. The 1,200-acre Lake Wapogasset is 10 minutes away for boaters and anglers. There's room on the property to park a boat and trailer. This stretch of the Apple River is 20 miles upstream from tubing and floating excursions in Somerset. There are rapids close to the property at the Pike Hole for experienced kayakers. Public access to boat, fish, kayak on the river nearby. Stock up on groceries in nearby Amery or elsewhere on your way in.
You are 5 miles from downtown Amery, which has two grocery stores, a liquor store, drug store, gas stations and many restaurants and bars, ranging from low-key to upscale. More information at the cottage. • Great place, with a lots of nice touches. I enjoyed staying here, and would definitely recommend to future travelers. One thing to note is that the bedrooms share an entrance but are separated by one floor. We didn't mind, but just a note to future travelers.

  • Beautiful spot on the river. Stylish, clean, comfortable. Had a great stay. There are neighbors right next door, so it’s not exactly remote but it still feels private. Loved having breakfast with windows open, listening to the river.

  • Amazing place. 5 stars all around. Extremely clean and comfortable with a plethora of amenities. Communicative and helpful hosts. Over and above really. Beautiful area and very accessible by road even during winter. Maybe the listing should have mentioned it was a part of their house. House separated the air bnb space by 1 door although it is advertised as an independent structure. Host walking by window outside etc. Privacy was respected but that is just worth mentioning.

  • We had the pleasure of staying at this property while passing through the area. It was easy to get to, and the view of the lake from the double patio doors was lovely. It works out great for two people, and could accommodate a second couple or a few children with the Murphy bed option. Having several bouquets in crystal vases added a touch of elegance to the space and made it feel all the more welcoming.

  • This home is your home away from home! It housed six of us with no problem and a little room to spare! The cute little extras like the warm house slippers, the snacks and bottles of waters were just what we needed! The beds were very comfortable and the house is sparkly clean! We were as cozy as can be and definitely would return! This is a must to check out.

  • My friend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We were particularly impressed with how clean it was and the thoughtful touches throughout. Two examples we used were the hiking trail literature she had on premises, which we used to plan our hike and the little bars of soap, which I used since I forgot my shower soap. We loved the upstairs where there were two sleeping areas for us. The beds were super comfortable and we both slept really well. We loved the location and the close walk to the lake. There were several seating areas throughout with tables, lights, and blankets close by, making for very comfy relaxing time. We both commented several times how impressed we were with everything. We highly recommend it.

    Terri2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was way better that we expected. Pictures do not tell you the story but once when you enter the house it feels cozy and relaxing. Initially we reserved the place for two nights and had to extend it for another night, that lovely was the place. We definitely recommend for a quick weekend getaway from twin cities. Host Brenda was very communicative, she was there to greet us and gave us a quick tour of the place. We would like to comeback in Summer.

    Sunil2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of sleeping space. Quiet and charming

    Cindy2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cleanliness, comfort and amenities of this cozy place make you feel like you're "at home." Brenda, Beth and Barb are wonderful hostesses! The deer and other wildlife on the property are fun to watch. Next time we'll have to come at a warmer time of year to enjoy the outdoors. Who would have expected snow on October 12th in Wisconsin!

    Anna2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get! Alittle cozy cabin not far from anything!! Fully stocked house that is kept very clean. Brenda is a great host and is willing to help out anyway she can to make your stay truly magnificent :)

    Jamie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location - farm fields, trees and a lake as neighbors. Amenities were beyond expected with items such as metal sticks for roasting marshmallows, marshmallows, paper plates, cozy blankets in the living room, movies, games, kayaks... My family and I would visit again!

    Heather2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda does a great job of explaining the house and everything in the area upon arrival. She even gave us a brief on her family's history in the area The house was everything you'd expect - plus much more. Everything was clean and in place - the house was had every amenity you would need - and the little signs around the house were able to guide you through any question. The house was the perfect place for us. The bedroom on the 1st floor was perfect for my parents, and the bedrooms on the 2nd floor was perfect for our privacy. The house had all the comforts of home, plus some very well received touches (like water, snacks, towels, maps, etc - even deer in the yard during our breakfast!!!). They really did a great job with this place. It might be my first and only time near Grantsburg - but in the chance we do return, we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the vicinity.
