  • Fantastic stay - cannot recommend highly enough! Centrally located within walking distance to downtown Harpers Ferry and the surrounding trails. The room is its own mini-apartment and is very clean. Comes stocked with a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and some light snacks. Chris was a gracious host who was happy to talk me through a map of the local area, highlighting his recommended restaurants and how to best reach the local trailheads. A go-to spot for any hiker!

There are several outfitters that provide rafting, kayaking and zip lines just minutes away and if we are available and you bring your own tubes (I also have a couple I could loan you) we will be happy to take you up river so you can float back to the house, saving you considerable amounts of money!
  • I cannot say enough good things about Max and Ron's hospitality and home. The room was warm and comfortable with homey touches. There is a mini-fridge, a humidifier/essential oil diffuser running providing a pleasant aroma to the room. The bed was comfortable with a memory foam top that envelopes you. There is a comfortable living room, exercise area, bar, and gorgeous home theater that are available for use. Ron is a terrific host; he gives you your space and is also open and engaging in conversation. On our second night we spent several hours conversing and watching the MMA fight with Ron in his home theater. Ron definitely made us feel welcome and enhanced an already memorable date weekend in Harpers Ferry for my wife and me. We cannot wait to visit again!

  • Max & Ron’s place is amazing, we enjoyed our stay here, they both are charming, and wonderful, hospitality was superb, it’s super clean, great in terms of connectivity, and we also got the chance to meet their lovely grand-dogs. We loved their home, and we look forward to coming back. One hundred percent recommend.

    Deependra2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in an upstairs bedroom which had an attached, private bathroom which was great to have. Max was hospitable, easy going and great to talk to.

    Michelle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Very respectful of your privacy. Great hosts!

    Michael2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality at Max and Ron's is warm and welcoming- good conversation and coffee. Their home is filled with interesting memorabilia, each with its own story. Ron had good suggestions about nearby places to visit and eat. Our room was clean, spacious, and had everything that we needed for our stay. Modern convenience in the heart of the Bolivar/Harper's Ferry historic district.

    Chris2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband was nervous about a shared space!! He actually was so hesitant we had a back up place to stay in mind just in case it didn’t work out. I’m happy to report no back up was needed! We had an awesome time in Harpers Ferry staying with Max and Ron. Their hospitality and knowledge was on point! We were welcomed with great conversation, drinks, and a grand tour! We will visit again for sure!!

Nestled in between the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, Two Rivers Guest House provides wonderful accommodations for your visit to Harpers Ferry, WV. Walking distance to rivers, parks, and restaurants. Breathtaking mountain views.
Fully equipped with all of the comforts of home.
    Quiet in town location.
  • Very clean, well-maintained house with a fantastic view of the mountains and easy access to the restaurants in Bolivar. Erik’s communication was prompt and helpful. We hope to be back so that we can spend more time on the beautiful hiking trails!

    Brett & Melissa2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Erik’s place is great—super convenient to everything in Harper’s Ferry and it was meticulously clean and impeccably well maintained. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Erik was a super friendly host who really goes out of his way to make guests feel at ease. I highly recommend a stay here.

    Lisa2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very clean, newly built/renovated, three story guest house attached to the main residence. It is about a 20 min walk downhill to Harpers Ferry. The walk back is thus uphill- my partner and I did it no problem but our friend has a bad back and had to drive and take the shuttle to HV. Close by coffee and restaurants. Beautiful view. Second bedroom is also tv room with two twin trundle bed.

    Katy2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great find!

    Kathryn2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This home offered a great place to stay just a quick drive or a walk to downtown Harper's Ferry. We opted to walk back and forth which was probably about a 1-mile each way. The home was clean, well-stocked with the necessities and had a beautiful view from both bedrooms. I would highly recommend. There is a stunning spiral staircase that connects the first floor and third floor.

    Michaeline2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Erik’s place is in a great location. Only about a .5 mile walk (which I recommend because parking is confusing) from the main town, and there is coffee and food just a few blocks away. It is set on the outskirts of a small community, but you still get that secluded mountain vibe! The area was quiet and had some deer in the yard every night. You also get a decent view of the mountains that are just beyond the backyard. The home was very clean, and was stocked with all your basic needs, from first aid and shampoo to coffee and spices. The home has a spiral staircase inside, but if narrow stairs are difficult for you, you can access the first bedroom from a bigger set of stairs outside.

    Jo2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house was well-stocked and exactly as described. Erik responded quickly to my questions and was flexible with letting us drop off some stuff a little early. Everything was very clean. The check-in instructions were really detailed and included pictures showing how to get to the house. Thanks for a great stay.

    Mary2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Sparking clean, beautiful decor and just a great vibe in general. The host provided everything you’d need to feel right at home and responded to messages super fast. She even offered early check in if we needed it. Very close to the main streets of Harper’s Ferry and just a few minutes drive from popular hiking trails. Definitely recommend!!

    Kailey2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The home was gorgeous and well-stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Walking distance of downtown HF & easy parking. Would absolutely rent again!

    Leah2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Alex’s place was a dream! I’m sad we only had one night to spend here. If you love plants and great vintage finds, you’ll love this place! The details and thoughtful touches were great, and I indulged in the jacuzzi tub after a long hike. At this price, it’s a total steal. On top of it all, hosts were really responsive and accessible- offered lots of great suggestions for date nights and food! Can’t wait to come back again :)

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place! Very neat interior!

    Will2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Alex’s place in Harper’s Ferry. Her space was eclectic, fun, and had many plants (a plus for plant lovers). Their kitchen had everything you would need including a very nice espresso machine. We had never been to HF before and she was so helpful giving us tips for local wineries, shops, and hikes. She even went out of her way to give a map of a local hike! Definitely recommend for a place to stay in HF

    Elizabeth2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alex’s place is very conveniently located, and we had a great stay. The house was sparkling clean, and there were many thoughtful touches like candles, a nice coffee maker, and plenty of kitchen supplies. Check-in was very easy, and Alex was really easy to get in touch with. We would highly recommend as a place to stay in Harpers Ferry!

  • Best place to stay in Harpers Ferry hands down! Good location, everything was clean, and the host was awesome. Seriously, stay here! Don't make the mistake of staying somewhere else

    Maria2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Ron's house and visiting the historical Harper Feery. Ron was very friendly. He offered suggestions and directions of local sites. He was very easy to communicate with and respond back promptly for questions. The house is very big and have plenty of space. There are enough parking spaces in the premises. There are 3 dogs who stays in the house. The big once are usually inside a cage. The little one usually walk around in the house and is friendly. I wish the access of the kitchen was a bit more convenient and ideal to find the things you may need if you are planning to warm something quick or for a very light cook. Specially if you are staying at the downstairs room, you have to walk the stairs all the way to the main level to use even microwave. That could be addressed easily. All in all, Ron and his wife was a good host.

    Solomon2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice spot. Good location with a short walk into Harpers Ferry. Friendly hosts as well. Would return again

    Gabriel2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly and clean

    Kevin2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the best AirBnB experiences that we’ve had yet. Max and Ron were outstanding hosts. Both were quick to respond when our check-in plans changed. They provided us with great recommendations for the area. Their home was beautiful...we particularly enjoyed spending one evening sitting out on their porch. As we said when we left, if we ever come back to Harpers Ferry, we will stay with them again!

    Greg2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Max and Ron were very helpful whenever we had any questions. Their place is very nice and Harper's Ferry is a beautiful place. You won't regret booking with them.

    Shawn2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Max and Ron were friendly hosts who had a home with a lot of amenities. Our stay was brief but they were very welcoming. The house would be a particularly good stay for a group, as they have a bar room, a movie theater room, and nice private guest spaces.

  • cute, very spacious, our dog loved it as well as visiting the bar downstairs!

    Sue2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you're going to stay here you're really going to love it try going to the bar downstairs and ask him for some of their craft beers from local breweries around the West Virginia area fantastic room fantastic clean and every way you can imagine the beds extra comfy to

    Jerard2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time! The place was larger than the photos let on. One thing I will say is, don't take the note about the noise from the Barn lightly if you are a light sleeper. You can definitely hear to music/people hanging out at the bar, although it was in no way unreasonable (especially since there is a note about the noise from the bar in the description of the place). I was tired enough from my hike and a couple beers that I fell asleep just fine. A note about Sarah: it was snowing the day of my check out. Sarah told me not to worry about the check out time and to do what I needed to to be comfortable and safe. I really appreciated that! Besides that, she was very responsive.

    Apryl2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cool spot, I want to come back when the Tavern is open.

    Brian2018-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute place and a good location in HF. It is a little far the the point in town but a nice walk. This location is located above a bar and it is LOUD. Thankfully my partner and I were both exhausted and fell asleep easily, but be warned.... you hear EVERYTHING.

    Kayla2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great location in Harpers Ferry! Nestled up the hill from the center of town. The Barn is a happening spot in the evenings - with live or jukebox music, so be prepared to enjoy it or hear a little noise in the evenings from the wonderful retreat upstairs. There is a cafe right next to the Barn called Rations, which is delightful! If the weather is nice, I recommend the MD Heights trail to view the town from above.

    Drew2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful loft above a barn that contains the coolest bar in Harpers Ferry. Nice view, central location, and very easy check-in/check-out. It was a ten minute drive to the store, downtown Harpers Ferry, and the Maryland Heights Viking trail (which I highly recommend). The space is above a bar so you should book knowing that there’s a chance you’ll hear music/people until 1 or so. The second night we were there it was very quiet as things were slow, and the bar staff were super accommodating (even let us borrow a wine key). Great spot that we will definitely book again if we are in town.

    Malcolm2018-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot and the bar was right down stairs. Town is 15-20 min walk so you don’t have to pay for parking. Friendly owners

Angela was responsive when we had questions. We found really great dining in Charles Town with more options, about a 10 minute drive away. It's right around the corner from downtown and in close proximity to a bunch of restaurants. The Harper's Ferry Brewery was less than a ten minute drive away. It's close to tons of wineries too. • Sarah’s place is wonderful!! It is comfy, cozy, sparkling clean, and well-located. It has large windows that allow a lot of natural light and have views of some of the ridges in the area. It is also right above a café, across from a bar in a barn, and is only a few minutes away from the center of Harper’s Ferry. Sarah is also communicative and helpful as a host. We would highly recommend Sarah’s place and hope to come back soon!

My home is in a quiet wooded area outside of town. You won’t find sidewalks, streetlights, or manicured lawns here. Instead you will find a natural, woodsy setting, occasional deer in the yard, and a million stars on clear nights.
You are welcome to use the kitchen, reading area, living room, and bathroom, as well as the deck. My house is not new, and everything isn’t perfect, but it’s comfortable and welcoming, and quite colorful.
Ten minutes from Shepherdstown, 15 minutes from Harpers Ferry and Charles Town, 20 minutes from Antietam National Battlefield Park.
  • Very quiet and chill spot close to Harpers Ferry and the surrounding areas! Mary Elise was very responsive and made checking in as simple as possible. This is a great spot for checking out the surrounding historical and natural parks nearby!

    Angel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Mary’s. It’s in a perfect location between Shepardstown and harpers ferry. Very cozy room in a secluded neighborhood, perfect for a weekend trip

  • Definitely our new favorite option for accommodation whenever we're back in WV!

  • Mary's place is great for a place to crash when you're traveling. Mary was very kind and accommodating. Would recommend.

  • Brad and Mary were the most delightful hosts and I will definitely go back there when I come to Harper's Ferry next April (assuming there isn't a reservation already in place for someone else.) Getting there was quite an adventure, on beautiful country roads that just BEGGED for a sports car! Oscar, the tuxedo cat, was the icing on the cake - thanks, Oscar!!! :-) Also, the location was perfect for visiting both Harper's Ferry and Shepherdstown - both were no more than a ten minutes drive. Thank you, Mary and Brad (and Oscar, Pandora, et al.)

    Jane2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a wonderful host. Communication with her was very clear. The place was very affordable and therefore I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to use the bedroom for a Good night sleep after exploring Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. It was so nice not to have to spend alot to crash with my 2 dogs. She also gave very good advice on restaurants.

Glamping in Harpers Ferry! Elevated 8' x 16' cabin in a lush garden property surrounded by trees. Full bathroom w/rain showerhead. King bed can be converted to 2 twins if requested. 1940s vintage decor. Minifridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, elec kettle, minigriddle. Opens to an 8' x 16' screened porch w/ceiling fan, comfy seating, kitchen table & sink. Private spot yet in walking distance to all the great HF activities & dinner restaurants. Indoor/outdoor living & in-town convenience.
The tiny house is inspired by 1940s Park Service cabins but with modern comforts and amenities, a rain showerhead, a brand new Allswell bed, full insulation with air conditioning (and heating for the cooler months). The tiny cabin is new construction, built on the same property as our B&B (note our other listings on Airbnb). A garage sits between the tiny cabin and the main house on one side. There are trees/gardens on the other three sides. Beyond the trees are other neighborhood homes and a narrow, quiet street on one side. During this period of COVID-19 concern, guests will be given self-entry instructions. The cabin is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guest stays. You will not need to interact in person with either the hosts or any other guests. Wifi and Echo Dot. A small TV monitor is available with an HDMI cable if you want to hook up your own streaming device. Note that, it being a tiny cabin, we had room for only a 40-gallon water heater. If there are two of you staying, you may want to take quicker showers or allow a little time between showers so that the second person gets enough hot water. We permit a third guest, including children, but please remember that this is a tiny cabin, and the sleeping configuration is one king or two twins. There is also a cot and sleeping bag on the screened porch that could be used on warmer nights. Parking spaces are located in front of the main house. You will then need to walk around the house to the back of the property to access the tiny cabin. A barndoor style gate just next to the tiny cabin exits to a side street. It's convenient for access when walking or bicycling, but no parking is available near this gate. We accept government rates! Please inquire if you are in town on government business.
The tiny cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood in the Upper Town Harpers Ferry Historic District, away from the heavily touristed area and close to restaurants and a bar. Also, we're far enough away from the train tracks that the whistles are more of a distant wail. The property is visually private but is next to a side street. You may hear neighbors visiting with each other out in the street during the day. Because we're in a small town, we like to stay friendly with our neighbors. We know you'll be respectful. Quiet hours (10 p.m. - 7 a.m.) will be strictly enforced and noise complaints from neighbors will result in a negative review for the rare inconsiderate guest. We're close to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Potomac & Shenandoah Rivers, C&O Canal Trail, AT, Amtrak train station, Storer College, & Loudoun County wineries. Check in on Sundays may be delayed until 4 pm. The main residential section of the Town of Harpers Ferry (where our tiny cabin is located) is over half a mile up a fairly steep hill from the rivers and the National Historic Park area (and also the C & O Canal Towpath). Through-cyclists on the trail, especially, should be aware of the strenuous ride up. There are NO surveillance cameras on the property. We provide a map of walking routes to nearby views of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers, as well as restaurant lists and info on local attractions. • We absolutely loved our stay at Lynn and Christian's place. The location was perfect, easy to walk to things but also private and quiet. We appreciated the attention to detail and decor of the cabin, everything was comfortable and cute! We are inspired to try and build our own now :). They are excellent hosts, not intrusive but also attentive and checked in to make sure we were warm enough and had what we needed. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Harper's Ferry!

Ideal for couples, this one queen bedroom full equipped cottage is available for nightly rent, weekend stays, short-term rental and week vacations. Please note, this space is suitable for a one person, a couple or possible a third that uses the futon. We can not accommodate more than three. You will be subject to added fees without notice if more renters are found to be in the property.
Located on a quiet street amid tall trees and views of the surrounding mountains and historic village, it offers a large deck, spacious yard, and off-street parking. Features include a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with jacuzzi tub, AC, and a washer-dryer. A futon couch in the livingroom can easily accommodate a third person. The property adjoins Canal House Cafe, a popular local gathering place that serves dishes prepared with local ingredients, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices.
  • Great spot to stay if you are visiting Harper's Ferry, especially because the choices are limited. My friend and I met here for the weekend and it was the perfect size for the two of us, actually a little larger than expected. Unique little cottage and we really enjoyed sitting out on the deck getting some fresh air. It is walkable to the downtown area, but beware the walk back is mostly uphill. Unfortunately, parking is so difficult in Harpers Ferry that we ended up leaving the town for dinner both nights because we could not find any parking closer to the "downtown" area and did not want to do the walk at night. Would definitely stay here again if I return for an overnight visit to Harper's Ferry and would recommend it to others.

    Holly2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as expected and was in a very convenient location. The cottage was clean and was very comfortable. When we asked for a late checkout, Sarah was quick to respond and was extremely accommodating. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Cute cottage! Very clean, nicely appointed. About a 15min walk to downtown Harper's Ferry museums and restaurants. There's a wonderful cajun restaurant, Bisou Bistro ten steps from the cottage and a great coffee shop and bakery just a block away.

    Gavin2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is great, very clean and laid out with everything one needs. It was comfortable and has a nice feel but quiet and away from the crowds of the town center. The location is excellent for exploring this wonderful little town and the environs, all within walking distance.

    Gordon2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay! The cottage is lovely, with great space for cooking, reading, and hanging out, with a lovely back porch wrapping around the house. It is quaint and cozy and everything I could have wished for for a getaway weekend and more. It's within walking distance from the old town of Harper's Ferry. The yard is lovely, and the house is directly behind a fantastic authentic cajun restaurant.

  • Taylor Den/ Joshua's Place was a wonderful place to stay. Located within minutes of Harper's Ferry, and the Harper's Ferry NP Visitors Center and very near the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Rafting, etc. The apartment was comfortable, sparkling clean, and perfect for a couple, or family of three. Outdoor space with gas grill and fire ring during nice weather. (We were here in late February, pretty chilly to be outside, though) Very quiet neighborhood, access to great hiking, including a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Charming Studio Guest Suite located 5 minutes from Historic Harpers Ferry and 10 minutes to Charles Town/Hollywood Casino. Close to Virginia and Maryland wineries and Breweries. Hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, tubing and rafting all close by on the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers. Rural neighborhood off the beaten path. Please note that there are steep stairs leading to this second floor suite and it is not handicap accessible. This is a non-smoking property.
Wonderful new build studio suite on the detached garage. All new inside and out !
Please note that our neighborhood is rural. The back yard is home to lots of deer who think it’s their yard! And the neighbor “cat lady” takes in lots of cats. Don’t be surprised if one is on the deck when you come out but don’t let them in! They will over run us!!!
  • What a beautiful space! Christine is extremely responsive and her husband was there when we arrived to show us the space! It was externally clean and welcome! A perfect space for a weekend getaway!

    Jen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had the best experience staying here! The location was handy and I appreciated the rural area for the peace and quiet. Even had the company of deer in the early morning passing through the back yard! • If you are looking for a wonderful weekend getaway and want a place to base yourself between Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown, you’ll definitely want to check out this lovely flat! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights, and couldn’t be happier. It is a spacious studio apartment and is within easy driving distance to all of the sites in the area. Although we could self check-in, Christine kindly waited for us although we had a late arrival. The studio was stocked with snacks, coffee, and bathroom amenities and everything was sparkling clean and brand-new. And the flannel bedsheets were heavenly! There’s also a porch at the entrance which has beautiful views of the rolling countryside below. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, but still had a wonderful visit. Thank you for everything, Christine!

  • This was our third stay; it’s become our go-to spot when we want a quick getaway from DC. It is on a quiet street and is a short drive to Harpers Ferry. We enjoy taking our dog to the trails and then enjoying some craft beer at Harpers Ferry Brewing — a great dog-friendly brewery with beautiful, panoramic views. Highly recommend!

  • Quaint and perfect for anyone not planning to spend tons of time at the AirBNB. It was clean, had all the amenities for coffee and washing up. It was exactly what I needed, a place to relax after a long day out.

  • This is our second time staying at Nancy’s & we loved it as much as the first time. Check in was quick and easy, the apartment was sparkling clean, and there were a ton of personal touches and local tips. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. It’s the perfect spot for a getaway!

    Joanne2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time this year staying at Nancy's place. It was a clean, welcoming and quiet. She was kind enough to allow my father and I to both bring our dogs. It was such a nice location to reach a lot of little towns and explore Antietam. We love the feeling of stepping back in time in Burkittsville. Getting the key is super easy with the lock box on the door. The extra cot that she put in the room was a full size bed and incredibly comfortable. Way more than I was expecting! There are towels for the dogs. Lots of suggestions for things to do around town. And tons of little touches that just make it feel like home. Nancy left us extra bottled water since there was something going on with the plumbing which we never even noticed. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

    Amanda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect place to stay while in town for a wedding- quiet and very clean. There were so many amenities and thoughtful touches- we felt very well taken care of!

    Becca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing apartment and stay. Nancy’s place is the cleanest airbnb we ever stayed at. It’s so warm and inviting, very thoughtfully and stylishly decorated. We felt at home with the comfortable bed, comfortable, the very soft and high quality extra towels and all the basics available for a convenient stay. The place was quiet. We appreciated the simple check in and check out. Nancy is a fantastic host and extra points for accommodating our well behaved dog.

Relax and escape to the peace and quiet by the Potomac river, and wake to beautiful romantic views of the river and mountains, in this romantic 200 square foot tiny house situated on 2.5 acres, 450 feet of river front land. Explore and partake of all the activities on the river and surrounding area, just 1 mile from Shepherdstown. Fish, bike, kayak, tube, or just sit by the river and watch the birds and wild life. Read by the river or in the quiet comfort of the house, w/ some wine on us.
This is a 1940s refurbished fisherman's cabin. It was likely built in or about 1942 as the original electric fixtures are from that date, we had to modernize them though as they don't meet current code. It is very likely that the structure was built to replace an older wooden structure in the same location. There is electricity but no running water, water dispenser is provided. NOTE that the bathroom is a pit outhouse located nearby. On the west side of the 200square foot room, you will find a very comfortable Queen sized bed with CertiPUR foam mattress and lots of pillows. There are several blankets. At the foot is a WWII mail crate restored and converted to a trunk that was found in the tiny house, used to store extra linens and blankets. Above the headboard is a fantastic decorative shelf made from river maple that fell by the river in front of the building. Right in front of the bed is a window affording great views of the river. On the east side of the building is the sitting area with kitchen cabinets. The counter is made from old reclaimed barn door complete with the clasp. The shelves above are from the from of the barn door complete with hinges. Equipped with utensils, a microwave, dorm fridge, and crock water dispenser. A table for two in front of another river facing window. Outside is a small porch with two comfortable chairs and BBQ, that has a commanding view of the river. The cabin and this sitting area are nestled back into the wooded hillside loved by a plethora of songbirds and woodpeckers. To the East of the porch is a small three seasons outdoor shower and sink. The shower is fed by cold water but has a 5.5 gallon solar warming tank attached (long showers will get cold). NOTE that we will be shutting off the outdoor shower before the first frost. NOTE: We have shut off the outdoor Shower on 10/31/2019 as we are getting nights below freezing. Home sits on 2.5 acres adjacent to the Potomac river with C&O national historical park across the river. This section of the river is usually shallow and often can be walked across, near Packhorse Ford. Between the property and Shepherdstown is the historic battlefield of Shepherdstown with walking path and markers. Nestled to the other side of the tiny house is the very clean and comfortable pit toilet (out house). It is in the original location but all rebuilt with modern seat and plenty of privacy, well vented and stocked with hand sanitizer.
The home is a short bike ride or drive to historic downtown Shepherdstown. You will go by some historic ruins and Shepherdstown Battlefield, on the way by Packhorse Ford. Close to NCTC, Antietam, C&O canal and Harpers Ferry.
  • Perfect tiny little place for a short get away. We were trying to breathe some fresh air away from the city in these weird times of pandemic and that was perfect. The weather was not great but we enjoyed playing the Baby Boomer edition of Trivial Pursuit!

  • Yocencia was such a lovely host! She responded extremely fast to our questions and made sure the house was stocked with anything we might need along with some cute touches. The views of the river were beautiful! We loved spending time outside by the firepit. If you’re thinking about staying here I recommend it! As soon as I saw this place I knew I would love it and my expectations were not let down at all!

  • It was just what I wanted -- simple, small, and peaceful, without being too far away. Good communication and easy check-in. Thanks for sharing this lovely spot.

  • The tiny house was clean and quaint. The location was perfect. Secluded yet could get into town really quick. It was more than I expected! The fire pit was great for the evening and I can’t wait to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the hammock also ! Yocencia was a great host with quick responses!

    Halleigh2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay. The space is cozy and Yocencia provides really wonderful touches, like sunscreen, bugspray, and lots of coupons to local shops. We really felt like we had everything we needed! The river is literally right there. We spent the day bird watching, reading, and enjoying the quiet roads. In the evening, we enjoyed a yummy meal in Shepardtown (only 5 minutes down the road!) If you're looking for a restful and cozy getaway in close proximity to a sweet and fun town, this is the place for you! We can't wait to come back.

  • Clean, fresh space in great location. Brand new and the most comfortable couches !! So much I wish I had them in my own home !! Very quiet peaceful neighborhood. Deck and patio furniture needs good cleaning but it was to buggy out there anyway ! Highly recommend !!!

    Janice2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience!! Everything in the place is very nice - new kitchen appliances, nice floors, and very comfortable mattresses. Very detailed check-in information that made this process easy. We were also given a direct # for the host to call with any questions. We had a bigger group, and the open layout of the kitchen/living area was great for everyone being together. Many air mattresses, blankets, and supplies like toilet paper and paper towels were very available! A couple minor things to note: -Water from the faucets smells sulfuric, which the add does warn about. A water cooler like they have in office buildings is provided, so it's not really an issue. -You are in the woods, so there are some bugs outside on the porch/deck, but that is to be expected and did not detract from my experience.

    Christina2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, very clean and private

  • John’s place is absolutely fantastic. A beautiful historic home with wonderful breakfast and such genuinely nice people. Awesome location to explore lower town as well. I Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

    Lindsey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • John is such a warm, thoughtful host. The b&b has a wonderful presidential theme. He is beautifully located up the hill from the downtown.

    Lauren2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • John was a great host! We booked a last-minute weekend trip to Harper's Ferry and arrived via train, after the stated check-in time, and John graciously offered to pick us up from the train station. His place is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located (even without a car). We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evenings, and his dog Lucy is so sweet!

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is a fantastic value in Harpers Ferry. The rooms are gorgeous, the hospitality from John and Jody is warm and cheerful, the breakfast is filling, and Lucy the dog is a highlight in her own right.

    Dave2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful 19th century home that's located perfectly between the "uptown" and "downtown" areas of Harpers Ferry and Bolivar. John, Jody, and Lucy were incredible hosts and made us feel welcome right away. Nothing beat the hot breakfast in the morning and returning back to a cozy fire after dinner. We hope to be back soon!

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time visiting John’s Airbnb, and once again it was a relaxing and perfect experience. The breakfast he served up was delicious as always and was incredibly responsive to any updates or questions we had. I will always recommend John’s Airbnb for a Harper’s Ferry getaway.

    Sammy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • John, Jody, and Lucy (the pup) were all wonderful hosts. There was always a fire going in the fireplace which was perfect for the weather and the breakfasts were delicious! What a treat to spend time with Lucy-she is the sweetest, most gentle dog ever. John and Jody had lots of recommendations for restaurants to try and were truly committed to making sure we had everything we needed to fully enjoy our stay. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Harper’s Ferry!

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I will absolutely be back. I can’t imagine more people haven’t found out about this place! The Olde White House In is by far the best place to stay in all of Harpers Ferry! John, Miss Jody, and lovely Miss Lucy B Hayes are so welcoming and hospitable. A new favorite vacation destination that I will frequent from now on. If you’re deciding between any other place in Harpers Ferry and here, it HAS to be here! As a perk, their breakfasts are out of this world!

Downtown Harpers Ferry 1/2 mile away. Quaint shops in town. Coffee shop across the street. Several restaurants within 1/10th mile of home. Home is located 1/2 mile from the Appalachian Trail. Large enough for 2 families to vacation for a week. Fireplace in Great Room. Large finished basement good for children's bedroom/playroom. Fire pit in yard. Nice quiet dead end street.
  • When we arrived the house was immaculately clean and everything was set up for us. The house is also very spacious with several porches/outdoor spaces that are really nice. It is extremely close to walk to a coffee shop, several really good restaurants, and an awesome playground. It was a great spot for our family getaway with friends. The host was really easy to communicate with and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and worked to make sure our trip was smooth and relaxing.

    Sandra2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Gil’s Harpers Ferry Getaway! Our sightseeing was cut short due to nasty weather but the house was the perfect place to escape the ice and snow. There is nothing like watching it snow through the sunroom windows while setting by the fire! **The location is unbeatable - so close to everything! We highly recommend Rations, the coffee shop right across the street. It’s owned and operated by an amazing family. We visited several times during our 2 days there and everything was great. **The house had more than enough space for our party of 6. There were plenty of linens, paper products and the kitchen was well stocked. Everyone loved the sunroom and fireplace while our kids especially loved the large basement area with a air hockey table. We’d highly recommend this house to anyone. Thanks again for everything Gil! We are already planning a trip during warmer weather!

  • Great house with very nice dining room with glass walls overlooking a wooded area. Good location. Perfect place to stay to explore Harper’s Ferry and the vicinity.

    Jorge2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gil was a fantastic host! He was very quick to respond with my questions. The house is very charming and spacious. There was plenty of firewood left for us and games to play. We enjoyed a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Harpers Ferry. Would love to visit again!

    Mark2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The location is very convenient. I never got in my car until it was time to leave. There are great places to eat within a few minutes walking.

    Tom2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and relaxing weekend. Great access to Bolivar and Harpers Ferry. Great and clean space.

    Sarah2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Stayed with 5 couples and myself (11 total) and had a great getaway weekend. Location is ideal -- within walking distance of beer/liquor stores, pizza shop, restaurants, bars, and everything else the town has to offer. Firepit out back and one inside along with thermostats in each main room ensured we were toasty the whole time. Check-in was a breeze and everything was clean and well cared for. Will be back again!

    John2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gil was an excellent host! He was flexible and communicated quickly! The place was great, exactly what our group was looking for. A couple restaurants/coffee shops in walking distance and the wineries were a short drive away. We would definitely return to Gil's for another trip to Harper's Ferry!

Barn apartment in the upper level of a bank barn. Fourteen miles from downtown Leesburg, 5 miles from Harper's Ferry, 1 mile from VA-9 Appalachian trail head. Close to Harper's Ferry Adventure Center, wineries, breweries, tubing, kayaking, hiking, farms. Full kitchen. Unplugged - no satellite, TV, or Internet. There is cell signal. Rate includes 6% Virginia state tax and 7% Loudoun County hotel tax. NOTE: see rethink9.com for construction and traffic issues expected until summer 2021.
The apartment has a spacious MBR with queen bed and a second bedroom with twin. There is a loveseat that folds out into basically a mattress on the floor, mostly suitable for kids or young people. There is no separate dining room - the kitchen has an extra counter with barstools. The living room is small, with a little couch and two chairs. It has a TV/DVD player. Note there is no satellite or cable, you will want to bring movies (there is a small collection in the apartment). This is an unplugged experience. We have coyote, bear, hawks, various waterfowl, amphibians, foxes, groundhogs, weasels, raccoons and opossums, although many are shy and rare to see. There is a great open space for sky viewing, and you may catch us out there sometimes.
There are many local attractions and recreation spots within a few minutes drive. Many of them are in the guidebook. However, the guidebook doesn't let me add events and activities that don't have a physical address, so here are some you might want to know about. Right here on site, local astrophotographer Andrew Baker conducts sky tours and demonstrates the techniques and equipment he uses to catch the amazing shots on his website. Contact him to arrange a sky tour here: https://thebackyardcosmos.wixsite.com/astro/tours Or on Facebook (you can also see some awesome photos there): https://www.facebook.com/thebackyardcosmos/ You can fly over the area: https://balikoutdoors.com/nature-flightseeing Visit the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts festival if you're here one of the two weekends (spring and fall): http://www.mhacfestival.org/ As a former 4H parent and daughter of a dairy clubber, the Loudoun County Fair has a special place in my heart. Learn about farming, livestock, and what beef fitting is. Oh, and maybe go on some rides or see a show. :) http://loudouncountyfair.com/
  • Great quiet getaway to relax with awesome views and scenery. Can’t wait to come back.

    Ethan2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nicely finished, clean, loft apartment inside of a barn. The location is great for a getaway and you can see the sky well at night. Very quiet here. Harper’s ferry is close by and Antietam isn’t too far either. Aside from those two destinations though we didn’t find much else to do which was fine with us. Pam responded to messages promptly, but we didn’t need to contact her for anything other than check in/check out. All in all we had a great time.

    Jonathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location off the beaten path but close enough to everything

    Joe2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described! We had a great time!

    Erin2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This spot truly is a gem. Our state felt very private and intimate in the beautiful wooded setting we found ourselves in. Pam was a gracious host and provided numerous amenities to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. For anyone coming to visit, I would just recommend you drive VERY slowly up the gravel path up to the apartment. Our small car hit a few noisy bumps on the way up. That’s what we expected from a spot tucked back in nature though so as long as you come prepared and drive cautiously, you’ll be fine! We loved it here and you will too. Thank you, Pam!

    Brian2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This location was so beautiful and peaceful. The scenery was one we enjoyed waking up to every morning. Lots of natural sunlight so if you need darkness in the morning, bring a mask. (Waking up to the sunshine was amazing for me though!) The place was spacious and very nice for a barn apartment. This was a great way to disconnect and just relax. Wifi was a bit spotty, as well as cell signal but honestly, it didn't bother us because we were looking for a peaceful stay. There's a vineyard close by too so definitely take advantage of that. Check-in was SO easy and the host communicated quickly. We would definitely come back.

    Amanda2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a retreat away. Great property for kids or just for anyone wanting to relax. The view of the neighboring vineyard is beautiful.

    Rebecca2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pam’s place is beautiful. If you’re interested in birds there were many species spotted out the kitchen window! I saw my first northern harrier and mockingbird! There are several cute vineyards in the area, plenty to see and do. The barn cats are adorable! We had a nice fire at the fire pit one night and listened to all the sounds of the mountain. Overall great experience!

This 109sqft tiny house is cute, cozy, and the ultimate tiny house experience. If you've been wanting to check out tiny living, this is the place. It's not for everyone so read on to find out if it's for you. Small entrance door, small kitchen, ladder to the loft, compost toilet and small compact shower. Perfect for one or two people looking for a quiet getaway to contemplate life, read, write or enjoy the outdoors. The ladder weight limit is 200 lbs per person.
This is a very small space with all the essentials. The door is about half the width of a regular door. The kitchen consists of a mini fridge, tea kettle, french press, and hot plate. The bathroom has a compact shower and a composting toilet. There is a small fold down table, A/C, an electric space heater that I tested out on a 20 degree night. The sleeping space is located in a loft where you will need to climb a steep ladder to access.
We are 1/2 mile from the C&O Towpath and Potomac river and less than 2 miles from Harpers Ferry and the Appalachian Trail. Our location makes this perfect for couples, families or groups looking to hike, bike, kayak, or raft on the river. We are also next door to a horseback riding farm. Just a short drive away you can reach various National and State Parks including Antietam National Battlefield, Washington Monument State Park.
  • The tiny house is so cozy and delightful. My partner and I were only there for one night but we loved it. The property is gorgeous and it is very convenient to Harpers Ferry. Tara had excellent local tips.

  • We love staying with Tara and Shawn! I love their friendly animals and the area, it i so peaceful and there is so much to do. Thank you for a wonderful 2nd stay!

    Gabby2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Tara’s place. My boyfriend and I were looking for a cozy getaway to recharge, and the tiny home was perfect. On a chilly November weekend, we walked into the tiny house and Tara was nice enough to have turned the heat on for us already. Lots of thoughtful touches - the kitchen had tea, coffee, even emergency ramen and chicken noodle soup. The shower worked great, the loft bed was super cozy, and we were warm all night. Awesome book collection too. Location is 2 minutes from the Maryland Heights trailhead parking lot and 10-15 minutes into the main area with restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend!

  • Tara’s tiny house exceeded our expectations! The location was wonderful- very close to ideal hiking spots as well as the Historic Harper’s Ferry town. Tara was responsive and provided excellent food and hiking trail recommendations. Don’t miss the Weverton Cliffs for a scenic nature walk and Beans in the Belfry for a breakfast and coffee with some character. Otherwise, enjoy the spunky rooster and goat friends outside of the accommodation of Tara’s comfy tiny house that has all of the necessities for a comfy getaway!

  • What a nice oasis in nature. I loved the chickens running around as I got there. Kitchen is nicely set up. Very comfortable and clean. I have spent quite a bit of time in the area and discovered a road along the Potomac that I had no idea existed. Hosts were super-responsive.

  • Really cute B&B! Breakfast was home-cooked and very good. Each room is focused on a different president which is a unique touch I enjoyed. The dog Lucy is super adorable and friendly as well.

  • We had a great weekend in Harpers Ferry at John’s place! The room was beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and John was knowledgeable about the area and even picked us up from the train. The b&b is walking distance to the old town and great hiking- perfect location. Will definitely be back!

  • We can sincerely give John high praise for making my husband and I very comfortable. He is an extremely thoughtful host and provided many amenities: excellent food made from scratch, great conversations and historical information, very comfortable bedroom accommodations, spotless updated bathroom, and a lovely beautifully behaved dog. He is great at providing privacy while also being available for questions or advice. We often visit Harper's Ferry and we look forward to staying again.

  • We appreciated the cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality of John and Jody during our stay! The breakfast was amazing, recommendations perfect, and the house beautifully historic. It was the perfect getaway!

    Suzanne2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and had a lovely time. The house is historic and charming, and Jody — the housekeeper, hostess and cook extraordinaire — was delightful. She made us feel at home and was easy to talk to, and the hot breakfasts were a perfect start to a long day of site-seeing in town. We didn’t meet John in person but he checked in with us by text during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed, and Jody was always available to answer questions. We plan to return someday!

Let's go glamping! Charming 1940s cabin updated inside with stylish mix of midcentury modern / vintage camp. It's a perfect spot for couples to spend a romantic retreat (anniversary or honeymoon, for sure!), small families of 4, and for solo travelers to enjoy a relaxing getaway from the city. The cabin is located on a paved road, and it is an easy 10 minute drive along the Potomac River to all the fine dining and shopping of Shepherdstown. Being at the cabin feels like instant vacay. Drop your bags and head to the rocking chairs on the front porch or shady stone patio. Great place to unwind. Stocked with books, vintage Scrabble and jigsaw puzzles. Gorgeous setting to enjoy Fall foliage. The large bathroom includes tiled walk-in shower, heated tile floor, vessel sink and reclaimed wood accents. New toilet installed August 2019. Premium linens and toiletries included. Highlight review from a recent guest: “This was perfect. It looks kind of silly that I checked all 5 stars for every rating ... but this entire experience truly was a 5-star experience! The photos on the website are 100% accurate. The place was spotless. There was nothing we needed. Everything about it was super comfortable and relaxing. Our favorite "touches" were the rocking chairs on the front porch, the awesome shower, the Echo Dot, the coffee decanter, and I could just go on and on..." - Dave, June 24, 2019 Kitchen includes microwave, convection toaster oven, blender, and mini-frig. Complete coffee and tea station (including whole beans from Rations Cafe in Harpers Ferry), grinder, Chemex and electric kettle. Also coffee maker. Waffle station too. Please note there is NO STOVE OR OVEN-- take advantage of the many fine dining options in Shepherdstown. Charcoal grill and campstyle gas stove outside on the patio Ikea queen bed and fresh linens on main floor. Sleep loft with 2 twin beds is reached by steep stairs. Children are welcome but not advisable for toddlers as steep stairs are open and difficult to gate. This is a rural area, so cell phone service is spotty. No TV. Bring your tablet/laptop; high speed wireless internet is fast enough to stream music or video. AC unit in loft and ceiling fan for warm season. Heating unit in loft, portable radiator on main floor and heated bathroom floor for winter stays.
Enjoy a scenic 10 minute drive along the Potomac River to the fine dining and shopping in quaint Shepherdstown. Easy 20 minute drive to historic attractions and river activities in Harpers Ferry. Hike or bike the C&O Canal Towpath. Canoe, kayak or go tubing on the Potomac River (we'll provide river access instructions at the cabin). Check the Shepherdstown Visitor Center website for details about all the great things going on in our town. We love our CATF theatre guests! The cabin is on nearly 3 acres of woodland but does sit next to a road that serves a few residents of the nearby riverfront property. You may hear cars driving by, as well as their 4-wheel ATVs which can sound louder and faster.
  • Fantastic location and incredibly well-appointed. Full of so many fun activities - games, puzzles, a great CD collection, reading materials. Not to mention a cute downtown, and beautiful scenery. One word of caution to taller guests that the bedroom loft has a bit of a low ceiling. Everything else was perfect!!

Deer were outside both mornings, along with the Raccoons. It was very quiet and serene! Would definitely rent this place again! It's just as it's listed.

Sitting atop a hill on 23 acres at historic Fairview Farm, Circa 1737, the newly built cottage is surrounded by pasture, organic gardens, history & overlooks the Harpers Ferry Gap. We are just a few miles from Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, Shepardstown & the Hollywood Casino, the Appalachia trail, the Shenandoah & Potomac Rivers, and many historical sites. Start your day watching the sun rise from the deck and sunsets from the porch. We are taking extra precautions sanitizing between guests...
March 26 update: we are using isopropyl alcohol and Lysol to clean between guests. We are wiping all knobs, handles, switches, remotes, and hard surfaces with isopropyl alcohol and spraying all soft surfaces like upholstery, curtains and pillows with Lysol. I am removing the throw pillows. I have extended my winter reduced rate through April. If you are a traveling nurse or doctor or someone working on the front lines please message me for a special rate. I have begun to block 3 nights between each guest to help protect me when cleaning between guests. Please check out all of our photos to see the cottage and surrounding property during all four seasons. It is getting warmer but the nights are still chilly and a perfect time to cuddle up or play board games (provided) in front of the electric fireplace. Come for a visit and let your stress melt away at our little slice of Almost Heaven West Virginia. Historic Harpers Ferry and Shepardstown, chartered in 1762 and one of the two oldest towns in WV, are just 8 miles from the cottage and perfect for a daytime or evening stroll. The Hollywood Casino, just 3 miles from the cottage has a couple very good restaurants, as well as music and a dance floor on weekends, and of course gaming. The advantages of Fairview Farm go beyond the middle-of-everything location, the gardens and sweeping vistas. The perfect family, me-time get away or romantic destination. Parties of four or less, with a positive review and a completed profile can book automatically. A guest without previous reviews or a completed profile will need to send a request to book. The cottage can sleep up to six people, but parties over four will need to send a request to book. Please look thru photos. The property is beautiful dusted or covered in snow and bursts with color in Spring, Summer and Fall. It is a great destination for photographers or anyone who loves the serenity of a rural setting. Our historic barns, mountain views, gently rolling pastures, and the wildlife, including deer, barn swallows, eagles, blue jays, red cardinals, yellow finches and hummingbirds, ground hogs, red fox, bunnies, and the elusive coyotes that can be heard more than seen all make up Fairview Farm. You will also find: > a fire pit surrounded by large rocks and chairs for evening marshmallow toasting is just a short walk from the cottage. A stack of wood is provided. > the main house and cottage sit back from the street more than 1/4 mile so there is a feeling of seclusion without the isolation. > during the 4th of July celebration, there is a fantastic view of the fireworks from the side deck of the cottage or the front porch of the main house, where you are welcome to join us. And there is much more. In early spring the farm is planted with non GMO/organic seeds and then tended organically. Last year was very hard with high temps and torrential downpours, but most of the destruction to our gardens came from bunnies that have moved on to the property and are multiplying like...bunnies. If you sit quietly outside the cottage you are sure to see them running in and out of the raspberry patch. We have our fingers crossed that the weather is less severe this year. We will have organic herbs in my kitchen, and flower gardens. Just ask if you need something for cooking- mint, basil, oregano, rosemary, thai basil. The kitchen is a cook's delight. There is a Keurig, toaster, blender, family size pressure cooker/crock pot and microwave. We've provided a nice set of cookware, and several pieces of Corning Ware that I have collected for years. If guests need a small appliance, such as a rice cooker, ice cream maker, griddle, etc. Please let us know. We have several small appliances that can be brought up to the cottage in just minutes. A large gas grill is also provided on the screened in porch. Please let us know in advance if you intend to use it so we can fill the propane tank. There is no dishwasher in the cottage. We provide a drying mat and several wood drying racks. In keeping with our organic lifestyle, we use as few chemical cleaners as possible in the cottage. We mainly use and provide vinegar or other cleaners without harsh chemicals. Please bring laundry soap if you plan on doing laundry during your stay. While we do not allow large, unruly parties, we can accommodate families or groups that would like to gather for a home cooked holiday meal at the cottage. We are happy to provide additional pots, pans, serving dishes, a full set of china and tables and seating, as needed. Just let us know. The cottage is furnished with an eclectic mix of high end contemporary furniture and vintage and antique pieces. My mother's and my taste combined into a space that all of our guests have raved about. The cottage was built for my mother in her later years. The Heywood Wakefield mid century bedroom suite in the master bedroom was her wedding gift from my grandparents in the late 1950s. Though she never moved in, all doorways, hallways, and the shower were designed to be wheelchair accessible. There is a 1/4 step to enter the porch, the cottage and the shower. The cottage will be tastefully decorated for holidays including a decorated tree for Christmas. If you, your family or friends are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or holiday we are happy to provide a home baked decorated cake or cookies for an additional fee. You can choose from many flavors, and types including glutton free, dairy free, vegan, or organic, even Keto. MOST IMPORTANTLY: We welcome everyone! We absolutely do not and will not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or who you love. We will respect your privacy and only ask you respect our property. This a functioning small farm, surrounded by farms with all the smells, and noises of livestock and tractors. While the evenings are quiet, and the star filled skies, breathtaking, during planting, growing and harvest season work starts at sun up. Please be aware The main 1/4 mile driveway is gravel and the driveway to the cottage is mostly a dirt road with a layer of gravel. Both can get beat up during bad storms and/or heavy farm equipment. We keep them entirely passable but please drive slowly to avoid potholes on the main driveway. Guests are responsible for reading the House Manual on the App. It’s not heavy reading - just a short list of common sense rules for staying at the cottage. Check -In Instructions on the app include step by step photos to help find and enter the cottage. Other Info: we were chosen to be the recipient of the largest tree plantings along Elks Run by the Conservation Department of WV Forestry. With the help of volunteers, 150 Native trees have been planted along the creek to help prevent erosion. UPDATE: The remaining 150 trees have been planted. "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, & narrow-mindedness... Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men & things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain
We are located on the main road that runs between Charles Town and Sheperdstown. There are grocery stores (Aldis, Weiss, and a Giant called Martins) CVS, Rite Aid, Sweetfrog, Home Depot, Kohls, a great nail salon, and several restaurants and fast food joints within 3 miles. All the conveniences of the suburbs, in a rural setting. The cottage is surrounded by farmland pastures. A working dairy farm is across the street and can be seen from the cottage. The pastures of a beautiful 60 acre farm that once bred black angus, backs to our property
  • This lovely house did not have a speck of dirt or dust. Perfectly clean and great value. Dina was kind and understanding and a great host.

    Cameron2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Dina's place was amazing and one of those places you don't want others to know about just so you can selfishly keep to yourself ;) The instructions for check-in were clear and easy to follow. The cottage is secluded with great views of the surrounding farm land; don't miss the sunset view. We saw a groundhog roaming around as well as lots of different kinds of birds. The cottage itself was very well decorated, with great views of the outside scenery from throughout the space. It felt so nice to be in this space, away from the hustle and bustle of DC. The kitchen was my favorite part. We did a bit of cooking and there were several different plate options, cooking utensils, pots pans etc. Dina also baked two types of delicious muffins which were waiting for us when we got back from exploring the surrounding areas. A couple of times, I had questions or requests and Dina was quick to respond. Even though the cottage is secluded, it was easy access to Harper's Town, Shepherdstown and more. There really isn't anything negative I could say about the space. We will definitely be back!

    Michael2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! Very clean with lovely decorations. The kitchen is especially well equipped. Wish we could have stayed longer! We especially loved how secluded the house was! Just perfect!

    Ashley2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my husband and I's second time staying at Dina's place (both times were for friends' events in the area - first a wedding celebration and then a baby shower). We LOVE the location and how adorable this cottage is - it's gorgeous and isolated and a wonderful place to come back to after being out all day (the stars, the birds, etc.). It might be a little cramped for anything more than one family, but for a couple or a family with kids, it's a great space.

    Zeva2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful and quiet. We only stayed for a day, but we could see an amazing sunset in front of the house, and a just as beautiful sunrise in the back. We have two little kids and they loved running outside. The house is beautifully decorated, and very organized.

    Arianne2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time at The Cottage! The space was great; we ended up mostly staying inside due to the cold weather, and had a wonderful time. There are several activities in the area that we'll try to explore when it is warmer! Dina is great with communication (and also has some great muffin-making skills).

  • Hands down the best Airbnb hosts we’ve had. Max and Ron were so helpful and accommodating. Such great people. We really enjoyed their home theater too! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Harpers Ferry.

    Caitlin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night in Harper's Ferry staying with Ron & Max. We always stay at private accommodations but decided to give it a try after reading the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised and had a very private space in the basement with our own bath. The house itself is great, with an amazing bar/hang out area and gym. Ron and Max were very hospitable with a great welcome beer and lots of nice suggestions for local places to try. We went out for dinner, drinks and live music and it was under a 5 minute walk. We spent the next day wandering around Harper's Ferry, a short hike and checked out the brewery. Great trip!

    Jen2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Just a mile down the road from Harper’s Ferry, Ron and Max’s place is a beautiful and clean space, and a refuge for weary hikers. Their hospitality was legendary.

  • Very hospitable and generous! The house was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. First time using Airbnb and would definitely stay there again.

    Amanda2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, generous hosts and great vibes all around! A spectacular home, very clean and full of little luxurious gems. A short walk into Harpers Ferry and a very safe spot. Max and Ron were very helpful and had lots of knowledge of the area and hiking grounds. They also had two adorable dogs that appreciated a little scratch! My boyfriend was up before me and said Max offered him a delicious cup of coffee and he thought that was very kind. After our first day and a very long hike, Ron offered us some beers and asked us about our day and plans. We always felt we had more than enough privacy to simply relax but they were always there to answer any questions we may have had or to give us some tips about what was happening in town that night. Highly recommend!

    Karuna2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very great location, you can walk to many places and Ron even offered us a ride into town if we needed it (parking is difficult). The house was very nice and clean. We had our own private space and felt very welcome in the common areas. Ron was a perfect host with hanging out with us and having great conversation, and letting us have our privacy when we wanted it. We recommend anyone looking to stay in Harper's Ferry should consider staying here. We certainly look forward to staying here again some time.

  • Our stay at Gary’s house was wonderful. The place was very clean, and Gary was extremely responsive in answering any questions we had. A few basic pantry staples were provided, and Gary was accommodating in working out an early check in and late check out. The home was within walking distance to downtown Harper’s Ferry so we didn’t need to drive anywhere once we arrived. We will be back to stay with Gary in the future!

  • Gary is awesome. He was super nice, quick to respond to any questions I had, and left some great recommendations. The house was perfect. Sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and had every possible amenity I could have wanted. What a wonderful location also. It's right off the main street leading down into the historic part of Harper's ferry. One of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a while is literally a 3 minute walk down the hill(Hamilton's). And from the front porch or back gazebo you can see the river. Will definitely be back!

  • Perfect spot to get away from city life and as a launch pad to great hiking. Cozy, comfortable, and a great mix of the modern (fast internet) and old (wood burning fire place). Would definitely come back! 4 min walk to historic harper’s ferry and restaurants.

  • THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Perfect little house for a weekend getaway. Great location - walkable to restaurants and historic places. More spacious than pictures make it seem. 2nd bedroom up a spiral staircase - lots of space in the upstairs room. Walk out deck from ground floor bedroom. We would absolutely stay again!

The space was very clean and the bed was super comfy. Check in was so easy, which we always appreciate, and we really felt at home. • We came for a weekend getaway & had a wonderful weekend! The cottage is very stylish & comfortable. It’s within walking distance to the many shops, restaurants, & historical sites that Harper’s Ferry has to offer. Although we came in off season, many things were still open & we enjoyed sightseeing. We can’t wait to come back for another visit!

Very pastoral, ~3 miles from Shepherdstown and ~ 7 miles from Harpers Ferry, WV.
The main farm house dates to 1790. The summer kitchen was remodeled into a guest house / greenhouse in 2009. Two twin beds (or pushed together to make one king bed) are available.
The rolling rural landscape here features mostly farms and estate homes. We live aside the old road between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. This road was used notably during the Civil War by Hill's division on it's way from Harpers Ferry to Antietam on the afternoon of 17 September 1862.
  • I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! It is the sweetest, coziest, happiest oasis. The property itself is beautiful and waking up to a view of lovely farmland and sheep was so nice, and the guest house itself is even better than I expected. So many detailed touches and Cindy provided us with anything we needed. We plan to return, definitely recommend!!

    Rafaela2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our favorite place to stay in Shepherdstown! Just perfect!

    Sandra2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place and wonderful hosts. One of our favorite places to stay.

    Joey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Perfect in every way. It was cozy, unique, private, spotless, comfortable, and welcoming! We loved the whole layout. Everything you would possibly need was there, including snacks. Cindy is so warm and friendly and she cares about her guests. We enjoyed our stay so much we plan to go back in warmer weather to enjoy the patio as well. HIghly recommend this guest house!!

    Neal2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay , very nice people and very accommodating. Also the space is perfect and they make sure you have everything you might need. Highly recommend and hope to stay again sometime soon.

    Carlos2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy and her home are absolute gems. She welcomed us and our dog with open arms, providing us with hiking and restaurant recommendations, and providing the dog with a safe and fenced in area to run, which was a welcome and unexpected bonus. The home is so cozy and full of plants. We woke up with the sunlight and to sheep baaing; our dog in particular loved the plant room. Cindy left us breakfast, coffee, and all the utensils we needed . I plan to come back here again soon! I left restored and rested.

    Rene2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy was a tremendous and extremely welcoming host! Her unit is very clean, comfortable, and well-organized, with lots of beautifully-kept plants in the sunroom. There were many additional amenities when we arrived, and the unit has everything you could need. The unit is a separate guest house on the back of the property, so Cindy is always there if you need but she definitely respected our privacy. We particularly enjoyed walking around the property in the morning with our dog and seeing the sheep that Cindy and her family care for. She is surely a super host, and we would highly recommend the unit to anyone looking for a calm getaway in a beautiful area!

    Drew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Much needed get away. Cindy and her husband were extremely warm and welcoming. I was shocked to see how much they had supplied for us when we first got there! Relaxing view of the green house from the bed room and enjoyed a cozy night by the bon fire! There isn't a kitchen, but we got crafty and enjoyed some roasted red pepper soup and broccoli that we made in the microwave!

Thanks for checking out the bus. It has been a joy to meet so many nice people since we listed it on Airbnb. The bus is just a short walk from our house where you can use the bathroom and kitchen if you need. Thanks again!
It's a 1997 school bus, not too long, not too short. There is a sofa, table, woodstove and full bed. There is ambient light and electricity on the bus as well as several candles. It has a wood floor and wood wall siding. It's in a private area of my yard and in the warmer weather there is a deck attached to the bus for relaxing. Aside from the bus, my bathroom is shared and my kitchen can be used also if requested. It depends on what the guest seems to prefer. I have had dinner with guests and taken them on tours of the area, picked them up from the train, given rides, etc. Many guest prefer to just have some privacy in the country and I respect that totally. I also work a lot which can hinder my availabilityon certain days. I live on a country road and my neighbors are like family.

  • It was a great place to stay! It was like glamping taken to the next level! The bus was accommodating, all you need to do is bring a cooler and you can make whatever you need with the fireplace or grill! Their house is right next to the bus so if you need to take a shower or the restroom, it's a few steps away! Will and Sabrina were very nice and helpful! Their dogs were extremely friendly and my dog enjoyed theirs. Definitely going to go again!

    Megan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend staying in the bus enough. It is so cozy and quaint. It was very clean and Will did a great job making us feel welcome. A lot of people may stay here for access to Haper's Ferry, but take the time and visit Sheperdstown. Great restaurants and fun places to grab a drink. Great downtown to stroll around. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting the area.

    Tyler2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great experience! Will and Sabrina were warm, welcoming hosts who made us feel right at home. The bus was comfortable even for a February stay thanks to the wood stove and plenty of blankets provided. Its in a great location with downtown Sheperdstown just a few minutes away and Harpers Ferry just a bit farther. Cannot recommend the bus highly enough.

    Paige2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Will’s place was amazing! I would highly recommend living in a Skoolie for a couple of days to anyone. Will and Sabrina were so kind. Reading Will’s book while on the skoolie made the experience feel even more surreal because you saw all his hard work pay off. Again thank you Will, Owen and I loved your place!

    Illiana2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The bus was a perfect spot to relax and experience semi rustic living. From the indoor fireplace to the chickens to the great hospitality, everything was perfect! I recommend this stay for anyone looking to get a cool, hippie-country style adventure in. Very cool spot!

    Nicole2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fun stay!! The perfect weekend getaway to relax in such a unique space. We hope to be back again soon!

    Rachael2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy is the perfect word! It’s clean, quiet, and a great option if you’re in the area. So glad I didn’t choose to stay in a traditional hotel or AirBnB. The Bus is a must!!!

    Taylor2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Sabrina were absolutely lovely. The bus, despite our visit to it in January, was warm when we arrived. The space is creative and unique, and located in a quite corner of the nearby quaint town of Shepherdstown. The woodburning stove warmed us on the night it rained, and the entire stay was magical. We definitely hope to come back to this place that now means so very much to us!

We accept government rates! Please inquire if you are in town on government business. In the Studebaker Suite at Rockhaven B&B, we have prepared quiet and relaxing, comfortable accommodations for your vacation getaway, including a full private spa bathroom with vintage clawfoot bathtub, 6-foot walk-in shower with rain shower head and separate water closet. In the main room, you can enjoy a TV with DirectTV access, a comfy love seat with ottoman, books and games -- even a wood stove for chilly evenings in late fall or winter. For your convenience, the kitchenette includes a sink, microwave, toaster oven, mini-fridge, blender (you can make a smoothie!), mini griddle, and Keurig coffee maker. Dishware is stored in a vintage hoosier cabinet. Decor is industrial/vintage -- and maybe a touch bohemian -- in the main living/sleeping/kitchen areas but more upscale-modern with a French-quarter flair in the bathroom. During this period of COVID-19 concern, guests will be give self-entry instructions. The suite is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guest stays. You will not need to interact in person with either the hosts or any other guests. Next to your bed is a full-size window right at garden level, so you get a beautiful view of the flowers. Just outside the entrance to the suite is a small covered deck area dedicated for your use, so you can enjoy tranquil breakfast outdoors, if you like, or a glass of wine in the evening. We have tried to make this space more ADA oriented, although it is not strictly ADA compliant. No steps are required between the parking area and the suite, but there is a considerable walk around the side of the house. If this suite is not available on your travel dates, check out our other Harpers Ferry units at airbnb.com/h/entire-third-floor-suite and airbnb.com/h/hike-n-bike-tiny-cabin. This house-with-a-history was originally owned by William and Inez Saunders, both alumni of Storer College. William was on the Storer faculty from 1907 until sometime in the 1940s. You can learn more about our Storer College connection during your visit. Highlights from our reviews: "It is a beautifully designed suite with a private entrance. The decor is fantastic and the bathroom is spa level luxurious..." -Kevin “This place is a hidden treasure! The spectacular garden walk leads to a comfortable, well-lit basement suite. It has been recently updated, with a beautiful spa bath, well stocked kitchenette, and luxury bedding.” - Anne “The Studebaker unit was comfortable and complete with everything that we could need. The décor was packed with interesting items, and the bath was high-end beautiful with luxurious soaps and creams for us to use. The mattress was just perfect. ..." - Donald
Our house is one block from Washington St., the main street in historic Harpers Ferry, so it is quiet yet still close to all the action. The famous trains that run through town at river level are far enough away that all you will hear is a distant wail, if anything at all. Only a few yards away is the former Storer College campus (now occupied by the National Park Service), as well as the Appalachian Trail and the AT Conservancy headquarters. A stroll further down the street takes you by historic homes and buildings, and at the end of the street is the oldest cemetery in town, just above Jefferson Rock. The views of Lower Town HF and the two rivers are great from there! Note that this main residential section of the Town of Harpers Ferry (where our home is located) is over half a mile up a fairly steep hill from the rivers and the National Historic Park area (and also the C & O Canal Towpath). Through-cyclists on the trail, especially, should be aware of the strenuous ride up.
  • Wonderful, quiet, stylish space in Harper’s Ferry !

    Dara2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn and Christian were amazing hosts! Although we did not have a chance to meet them in person because of conflicting schedules, both made sure that we were taken care of. As for their property - it truly was a rose in a field of daisies. Homely, cozy, clean, the suite was truly amazing. I also doubt that you will find a better bathroom. We definitely recommend them and we can't wait to stay there again when we're back in Harper's Ferry!

    J.P.2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Minutes after booking, Lynn and Christian established contact and told us that they were looking forward to hosting us. Prior to arriving, communication was thorough and timely and when we arrived, we were warmly greeted and shown their beautiful space. This place is THE BEST AirB&B we’ve ever seen! Truly stunning and every need was already planned for. They set a high bar for others in the area, indeed! We will absolutely be back. I cannot stress how perfect every moment in their lovely suite was to us. Divinity!

    Tom2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're debating, just do it. This place was amazing!! Would recommend over and over again.

    Jennifer2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed at AirBNBs all over the US and world and this is one of the best ones yet. There were so many thoughtful details from a full manual with room information and local places to visit to fresh slippers and robes for the sumptuous bathroom experience to a ready made fire and get-to-know you questions by the cozy love seat. We loved our little two-night anniversary get-away and the close walkable proximity to restaurants and downtown. It was only a short drive to Maryland Heights, which proved to be a great hike with excellent views. I can only imagine how lovely it would be in the fall with changing leaves....Maybe we will be able to get back there for a little baby moon! All in all, it was an excellent experience and we would highly recommend.

    Amy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, very comfortable, with many unexpected touches. You will NOT be disappointed!!

    Gerri2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures truly don't do this place justice. Lynn was a kind and fabulous host and we felt truly pampered and rejuvenated after our stay. Didn't realize how close the suite was to local restaurants and antique shops and historic downtown- didn't even need the car. We went on multiple lovely walks to enjoy the town, but always couldn't wait to get back home to that cozy wood burning stove and clawfoot tub. So grateful for the time we got to spend in this lovely space.

    Jocelyn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
