Unwind in our cozy cottage on the world famous Wild Atlantic Way/Slea Head Drive. Bask in wonderful coastal views and glorious sunsets strolling along coast-hugging roads, breathing in fresh sea air, sit out enjoying starry skies before falling asleep to the sound of the sea. Arguably Irelands best scenery, enjoy views of Dingle Peninsula/Coumeenoole Bay, the Blasket Islands and Dunmore Head. The famous Coumeenoole beach is a 10 minute stroll, Dingle town is 10 miles away and Killarney 50 miles.

Gleann Dearg - Patio Apartment Self Catering
Gleann Dearg House is located in the heart of Dunquin village, directly on the Slea Head Drive & Wild Atlantic Way. We are a family run house, having provided traditional B+B style accomodation for many years. In 2021, we have updated our accomodation offerings to a family suite (2 bedroom + 1 bathroom), a studio apartment and a 1 bedroom apartment. Each of these can be found as seperate listings on Airbnb. Gleann Dearg is a perfect base for hiking, cycling, boat trips, beaches & sightseeing.

Kitchenette contains fridge, small hob, microwave, cooking utensils, crockery and washing machine. Guests can also use the patio. There are pubs and restaurants in Ballyferriter village, a 3 min drive or 10 min walk away. Dingle is 15 min drive away. The bus stop is a 5 min walk away. It travels to and from Dingle several times a day.

This newly furnished guest suite is attached to our own home, about 1 km from Ballyferriter village yet only 15 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Dingle. The village contains 3 pubs, & a hotel (food served daily and regular sessions of traditional music), a shop in Ventry and a museum. The property overlooks Ceann Sibéal, the cliff top location upon which the 2017 movie 'The Last Jedi' (Star Wars) was filmed. More interestingly, at its base, the ruins of Pierce Ferriter's Castle.
