The area also received pingos as a gift from the Ice Age. Located in the middle of 2 national parks: Lauwersmeer and the Alde Feannen. Ideal cycling and hiking area.

Stay in the 125-year-old Wierums Hûske just 50 meters from the sea dike. Visit the Waddenzee and go in search of the seals, come mudflat walking, go bird watching in Lauwersoog, a day of shopping in Dokkum or Leeuwarden, cross over to the Wadden Islands, take a hike or go cycling in the area. The cottage is renovated and equipped with every comfort. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs with 4 sleeping places. There is an equipped kitchen. You can park the car in the private driveway.

Relax in our cottage on the coast. Use all your senses in the discovery of "our" Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you can enjoy hiking, biking and bird watching. For day trips, you can be in Leeuwarden, Groningen or on Schiermonnikoog or Ameland within an hour. Have you ever been to the beautiful Dokkum? It is only 12 km away. From this perfectly located home base, everything is within reach. In the old hairdressing salon of the island, you can feel like an islander for a while. In the middle of the authentic village of Schiermonnikoog, you go back in time. You have your own terrace and entrance in front of our house. We enter through the back entrance. This gives you privacy. Shops and beach are within walking distance. Beds are made upon arrival, bicycles are ready. Enjoy!

Cozy detached holiday home with garden

't Mouternistjen is located in bungalow park de Monnik. Close to the village. There is a large garden at the house. The house has recently been modernized. It is insulated, there is underfloor heating, a new kitchen, the bathroom and toilet have been renovated and there is a new floor. The house can accommodate 2-6 people. Two bedrooms have a double bed. In the third bedroom, there is a bunk bed.
