It is a hidden jewel found within the historic Yorkshire market town of Bedale, commonly referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ The property is perfectly situated to offer guests the ease of walking to shops, restaurants and pubs via its own private access whilst being only a short ride away from the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Harrogate and the city of York.

This beautiful former fisherman’s cottage dating back to the 1800’s is situated in the heart of the quaint village of Staithes. It has been tastefully renovated, but many of it’s original features remain. Situated on the high street just a few strides away from the beach and the Cod & Lobster pub, where you can enjoy a homemade meal and friendly atmosphere. This cosy cottage has a homely feel, perfect for relaxing in front of the fire after exploring the Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors.

Walks onto the moors from the front door , seating area outside to watch the sun go down with a large glass of wine, welcoming family pub across the road, Co-op, and fine dining pub also in the village. Train station to Whitby from the village. We welcome two dogs at the Nest.

The Bottom Pigsty at Fowl Green Farm

Bottom Pigsty The Bottom Pigsty is a mezzanine style cottage. The downstairs space is an open-plan living area with a separate wet room shower, basin and toilet. There is a kitchen area with oven, hob, microwave, fridge and all the appliances and crockery, pans and oven wear you will need for your stay. There is a TV, Wi-Fi and USB sockets. Upstairs is a mezzanine overlooking the lower level. Sleeping is in double bed and a single with trundle (sleeping 4 comfortably in one space.

If you'd rather stay local, take a short walk along Blackhall Colliery's beach and explore the caves, or head into the steep wooded valleys of Castle Eden Dene Nature reserve. Head to Seaham 15 minutes up the road to collect the famous Seaham glass, or even walk down and find some at Blackhall's own beach.

Our lovely home is located within the small village of Rosedale Abbey, a short drive from Pickering and Whitby. It is an ideal location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. We are unable to live here full time, so thought why not let others enjoy it too. We are situated looking at the old iron stone kilns, which makes a great walk around the old railway line. All pets welcome!
