If you are looking for an upscale, private, and peaceful condo with a breathtaking view this is it! This two bedroom one bath condo is fully furnished with all new furniture and amenities. The open kitchen/living area overlook the Pacific Ocean and Playa Ocotal. From the Liberia International airport it is a 35 minute drive on well paved roads. A short drive to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
“Amazing views! Beyond compare! The condo is large, new and lovely! It is up in the hills overlooking the ocean. Roads can be steep in Costa Rica, we rented a small all wheel drive that easily worked on gravel and dirt roads too. The pool is amazing and a super great way to watch the sunset! There are a flock of green parrots that live in the nearby trees, a beautiful small fox and a magpie who visits the deck! The condo overlooks Ocotal beach but you come up through Coco beach, which is the little beach town nearby. Lots of bars and restaurants. We dove with Rich divers, awesome group- ask for Sam! Best grocery store is across from the Hard Rock complex. My favorite coffee shop ( with AC) in same complex! We stayed 2weeks and road tripped to Baldi Hot Springs resort at Arenel Volcano , then over to the Caribbean side below Limon ( great Jamaican vibe and good food!) The other residents of the condo are super nice and gave us tips on where to go as well! The waterfalls at Hacienda and a romantic dinner overlooking Dante Beach- partial dirt road to get there but super swank- we went twice! The views! The views! The condo was wonderful and fully stocked! Great trip!”
Spyglass House offers a spectacular view of the captivating charcoal powder and white sands of Ocotal Beach. A 10 minute walk to the ocean or just step into your own private secluded infinity pool, where bathing suits are not required. Out on the deck you'll see the fishing boats or whales with your morning coffee. No sharing your space as you do with others in this price range. The entire house is yours! 30 mins from Liberia airport.
“Sterling and The Spyglass house exceeded our expectations! He was the most gracious of hosts, during our eight day stay and truly made us feel at home. The day we arrived, Sterling picked us up from the airport, and on the way to the house stopped at the grocery store so that we could pick up a few things. He also helped us get familiar with the town by showing us around and we rented his truck for the duration of our stay. He even took us back to the airport the day we departed. On our fist night, we arrived at the house just in time to jump into the infinity pool and watch the sunset, which is the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. We set our phone up by the pool, set the timer, and took the most beautiful picture of my family in the pool gazing arm in arm at the sunset. That night we planned out our day adventures. We sent Sterling a few messages with questions, and he promptly responded, and even help us make a few reservations for some things we wanted to do. While we were there, we went to Diamonte Eco Adventure Park. You'll need reservations, but Sterling called and made them for us and even gave us a coupon for a discount. We paid cash on the day of our reservation, but you can book and pay online as well. At the park, we zip lined, bungeed backwards, crossed a crocodile bridge, spent time with the animals, ate a Costa Rican lunch (included in the price) made coffee and coco in the cultural tour (mine and my husbands favorite part), attempted a crazy jungle gym obstacle course (my 15 and 13 year old boys favorite part), snorkeled, kayaked, and rode a paddle board. If you decide to go, take lots of bug spray. Also, not required, but take cash if you'd like to tip the people who work in the different areas of the park. A helpful tip: We ended up driving our selves to the park, but learned that our Apple or Google maps did not work in Costa Rica but the Waze app did! We also got directions from Sterling, just in case. We also went on a fishing/snorkling trip with Captain Nye. Sterling booked that one for us. We caught over 20 fish, saw a cave on an island, and snorkeled near another island. One of our favorite days, was our visit to the Miravalles Volcano. We booked online through https://www.ticotoursguanacaste.com. A guide picked us up on a wonderfully air conditioned Mercedes van, we drove about an hour and a half to our destination, where we rode horsed up a mountain side, hiked, crossed a suspension bridge, swam in a waterfall, ate a homemade Costa Rican lunch, walked through the area of active volcanic activity, sat in a sauna, took a mud bath, and sat in a hot spring. Our tour guide was amazing and it is an experience we will never forget! Our second to last day, we booked an electric bike tour through the Airbnb app which was listed under top experiences for the area. The guide, Robert, is a friend of Sterling's so I'm sure Sterling can help if its something you're interested in. It was another one of our favorite days. It feels like your riding a motorcycle! We rode bikes through the city, along side the locals, and alongside the waves of different beaches, stopped for coconut water, ate pineapple (make sure you try some, it's the best and juiciest we've ever tasted), and we even spotted monkeys along the way. It was something, we wished we had done on our first few days because we felt like we really got a feel for the city. We also spent afternoons at Ocotal beach and our last full day at the beach. We've only seen beaches with white sand and crystal clear water so I didn't think that I love this beach, but I was wrong. The beach has sparking black sand, which is beautiful in different ways and so unique. At first glance, the water doesn't seem clear, but when you get in the ocean is very clear, especially midday when the sun shines right thorough the water. We had the best time swimming and then relaxing under the shaded trees. The boys even played soccer with the locals on the beach a few different days. Most nights we cooked, but several nights we ate at Father Rooster and listened to live music, had some delicious and very strong Margaritas, and played pool. Then we'd go down to the beach and watch the sunset and my boys would hunt for crabs, never harming them, just catch and release. On our last night, the sky was crystal clear, and we walked along the beach surround by thousands of stars. My family and I are so thankful Sterling let us make The Spyglass House our home for a short while. Our experience and stay was truly magical. Sterling and the Spyglass house will forever be in our hearts.”
This space is called the Boat House with a gorgeous view of the Pacific. With a modern rustic feel inspired by the sea, the local art and furnishings tie the place together seamlessly. Only a 10 minute walk to Ocotal beach that is perfect for snorkeling! There is a lovely restaurant right on the beach called Father Rooster that has live music and excellent margaritas. Coco is the nearest beach town with shopping, bars, night life, only a 10 minute drive by car.
“What a beautiful place! The view was just as amazing, if not better, in person. You can see the ocean and beautiful trees from the kitchen, bedroom, living room, and even the bathroom in the shower. There was a water filter on the kitchen sink and ziplock bags and all the stuff you would need in the kitchen. Also, lots of dishes and pots for cooking. There were towels for the beach and pool, which we were able to use since there was no one staying in the big house while we were there (we got really lucky). The air conditioner worked great and we never felt the heat and humidity indoors. The showers were very clean and had a beautiful but private view so no one would see you while you were in there. There was shampoo there and hand soap, and the bathrooms themselves were very clean too. The bed was comfortable and I enjoyed waking up and opening the curtains to see the beautiful view every morning. The walk to the beach was a very quick 5 minute walk down the back path. It was a pretty easy walk down the stairs there for me and my boyfriend, but I don’t think it would be so easy for my grandma or if you are older and have trouble with steps. The walk from the entrance to the house also had a lot of stairs which I actually loved because there is an area at the top that you can see the view very clear and perfect, great for pictures. The path down to the house is a beautiful walk as well, there are beautiful plants and you can see the ocean. We rented a golf cart which was cheaper than renting a car and we were able to access the house and town just fine with it. The house was in a safe area and I felt good there, but to be safe there are two places to lock your stuff inside which I was very happy about. The downtown was fun to hang out at, with lots of good bars, food, and shops. We spent a lot of time there and it was great. With the golf cart, it was about a quick 10 minute drive. Paige was very helpful and answered all the questions I could possibly have. She helped give us contact information to plan our tours we went on, and information for renting the golf cart. Juan, the gardener, was also very friendly and a pleasure to meet. He helped us out a few times as well with carrying bags and stuff. We hope to come back next year, this was the vacation of our dreams. I would recommend this place to anyone, it was awesome.”
