A studio/efficiency apartment on the lower level of a small house built in 2019, with a separate bath & outdoor patio in a peaceful, rural setting in the western NC mountains . Within 40 minutes of lots to do. The area was heavily impacted by hurricane Helene on 9/28/24. The space was de-listed to make it available for volunteers here to help with recovery. It has been reactivated as of 3/12/25. Pets are considered on a case by case basis. Include pet info with your inquiry.

Check out nearby area's open for business, including Black Mountain, Marion, Blowing Rock, Nantahala, and our sweet local Brewery Hillmann!!! Limit one load of laundry per night. FYI, you share the yard with our other guests and our 3 sweet dogs.

Enjoy our peaceful ground-level apartment. My house is located just outside of town in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. You can visit Lake James or the riverside Greenway, but you will get plenty of nature right in the yard. I love feeding the birds and other critters so you will see bluejays, cardinals, squirrels, deer, and one very fat groundhog.
