Eli Reeves Cabin at Hobbyknob farm

This two story log cabin was originally built in 1820 by Eli Reeves, an Indiana furniture maker. In the fall of 2015 it was moved log by log to our farm and was restored to feel like you stepped back in time but with very special touches. If these logs could talk! The first word most guests say is "wow" and we worked hard to earn that. We set out to create something special that would stand out to share with guests. Come experience this piece of history and make some memories of your own.

The cabin is open despite the area hurricane damage We are 23 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. Folks love our place for the real homemade charm of the cabin, mountain views and garden setting. It is perfect for couples or a single traveler seeking minimalist simplicity. Doggies welcome too! Un-plug from the complexities of modern life while enjoying proximity to major sights, a galaxy of stars overnight and a sunrise view of dew on the gardens.

A three bedroom cabin great for a couple or family. The Appalachian Trail and National Forest can be accessed just 100 feet from the front door! The well-stocked kitchenette provides for all basic food preparation needs, and the town of Hot Springs is only a two minute drive away. Hurricane Helene update: We are fortunate that our property is higher up and did not flood. Thanks to the hard work of many people, all utilities have been restored at the cabin. Our town is in recovery.
