At walking distance there is an outdoor swimming pool, hiking forest Vosbergen and beautiful estates such as "the Braak" & "Vennebroek". Here you can go hiking and biking. Gastenverblijf 't Westeind (sinds 2025) is een ruim modern appartement midden in het centrum van het bruisende Drentse brinkdorp Norg. De ideale uitvalsbasis voor een week(end) weg in de Drentse natuur. Op loopafstand van alle voorzieningen van het dorp waaronder de horeca, supermarkt, busstation, zwembad en start van tal van wandel en fietsroutes in een bosrijke omgeving. In the cottage you live basic, close to nature in a wonderful hiking and cycling area, in a large, nature-rich place: vegetable garden, just landscaped food forest, flower gardens & pond are ecologically managed. There are a few pets (dog, chickens, running, bees). The refrigerator is underground and the composting toilet an experience in itself. The whole is made as environmentally friendly as possible and an invitation to live simply while respecting nature. There is a wood-burning stove.

Welcome to Donderen, a nice village located in the head of Drenthe. Close to the cities of Groningen and Assen (both about 15 to 20 minutes drive), Eelde airport (about 10 minutes drive), the cozy villages of Norg and Zuidlaren, National Park Drentse AA and nature reserve Noordscheveld. Ideal base for cycling and hiking trips. The accommodation is less accessible by public transport.
