Entry is via a Key-Safe located at the front door entrance. Guests are provided with the pin code to the key-safe in advance of their arrival. There is a hand disinfecting station set up in the front lobby. We provide disinfecting/cleaning supplies and ask guests to keep the cottage in a clean state throughout their stay. We ask that guests deposit all rubbish and recyclable materials in the wheelie bins provided to the rear of the walled garden. We also ask guests to strip their beds on the day of departure and to place all bedclothes plus towels etc in the zipped plastic bags we provide. The bags should be left in the entrance lobby for collection by our staff. Due to bad experiences in the past and to comply with Fire Safety and Licence requirements, the use of the house and garden and all facilities is restricted to paying guests only. The use of the house and garden and facilities by others is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in immediate eviction with no reimbursement of fees or costs. This 4 star cottage from the early 1880's sits by the sea in the village centre. This Scottish Tourist Board rated 4 Star traditional stone built cottage dating from the early 1880's is situated on Loch Leodamais in the centre of Port Ellen village. It has been extended and sympathetically modernised to a high standard. The original open beams have been retained as have various other features. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen, 3 bedrooms (2 double & 1 twin) sleeping up to six, a comfortable lounge area with Charnwood log burning stove, a dining area with table seating for up to 6 and child's high chair, FreeSat & Internet TV & digital entertainment systems, unlimited wifi and thermostat controlled oil fired central heating throughout. The village hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops, the Bank, the Post Office and the Calmac ferry terminal are all within 5 minutes walking distance of the cottage. The beach and village green are across the road. Guests have access to the complete house and to the sunny private walled garden. The house looks onto the village green and beach. There are a multitude of walks to be done from the front door. The village has many beaches and there is good diving in the sea with many ship wrecks easily accessible. There are 3 pubs, some with live traditional music, and several restaurants. Tennis courts, cycle hire and an 18 hole golf course are all close by. There is a bus service connecting the main villages with the airport and the ferry terminals. Please note that the bus service does not meet the late ferry. Islay is rich in history, at one time the seat of the Lords of the Isles, it is called the Queen of the Hebrides and is much greener than the other islands in the group. It is home to 9 working distilleries, farms, nature reserves, clean beaches, majestic cliffs, a long and varied coastline and a great variety of wildlife.

Kilchoman Apartment

A perfect holiday bolt hole for a solo traveller or couple. Return after a day exploring Islay to a wonderfully comfortable and welcoming home. 1 double room, sleeps 2. The apartment is open plan over two levels. On the ground floor there is a spacious living and dining area with stylish furnishings, comfortable sofas and tall windows that let the morning light stream in. The modern kitchen, looking out onto open countryside is compact yet superbly equipped and there's a bathroom perfect for a long soak in the bath after a day's beach-combing. The upper floor comprises a bright double bedroom with an incredibly comfortable kingsize bed on a gallery level, with en-suite facilities including a shower.

The Loft is a first floor apartment with a private entrance from exterior stairs. It offers a kitchen/ living room and double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a double sofa bed in the living space. It is suitable for couples, two singles or a small family. For safety reasons children should be over 8yrs old. It should be noted that guests using the sofa bed can only access the bathroom through the bedroom. It would appeal to artists, writers and anyone who enjoys the beauty of nature.

Nestling in the gardens of a grand sandstone building, this self catering accommodation is a hidden gem, discreetly set behind impressive entrance gates. The Black House, Islay

The Black House is a unique property situated between Bruichladdich and Port Charlotte on the island of Islay. We use the house for High School to save commuting from Jura every day so don’t expect a pristine holiday let but rather a loved family space. There are 2 double beds and 2 bunk bedrooms (if you’re a party of single adults then 4 is the maximum number). Views are stunning and Islay’s great for whisky, wildlife or just rest and relaxation.

Top Garden Flat

A very nicely converted traditional stone building which was originally a cattle shed. It is situated at the rear of 10 Charlotte Street, (Entrance to the Flats is from Back Road). The location means that while it is central, it is also away from the main road and is quiet. It is minutes walk from the shops, Hotel, Bistro, The 3 Distilleries Path and bus stop. A perfect location to be based while exploring Islay.
