Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

Middle of nowhere, and yet it is only 22 km. drive from Reykjavik center. Many points of interest are within easy reach like the Golden Circle.

Approximately 50 kilometres outside of Reykjavik, more precisely, in Hvalfjordur is a little cottage located right by the ocean shore. Vallnatún Cottage is located on the South coast of Iceland, nearby many of the main attractions, like waterfalls, volcanoes, black sand beaches and glaciers. The place is nearby the main road but at the same time a remote place, with a great view of the coastline on one side and the mountains on the other side.

Fossar Cabin

Our cozy cabin is located in a cove by a lava field and a small creek. It is 44m2 groundfloor and was built in 1962 and I renovated it in 2015. It is located on our farm Fossar , 15km away from village Kirkjubæjarklaustur by road 204.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space. Here you can enjoy the nature and relax. Here there is little traffic, cute horses all around and birdlife. Perfect place to see the northern lights in the winter.
