Situated on a hill, it will be your own Oasis above the hustle and bustle of town, yet within walking distance to restaurants, stores and more importantly our world-class beach.

The space
The room is located in Casa MarBella, a boutique style hotel in Santa Teresa, situated on a mountain slope on the Pacific Coast. The casa provides panoramic ocean views and is surrounded by jungle. It’s centrally located in the jungle town and is within walking distance to stores and some of the notable restaurants in the area. Most importantly, you can walk to the beach in 5 minutes (Playa Carmen).

- The Room -

This Standard Room comes with soundproof windows and door, A/C, king-size bed, private bathroom, and kitchenette.

The room overlooks the infinity pool and Pacific Ocean. The décor of room is a minimalist approach with a tropical touch.

It accommodates up to two people. For children 12 and up.

- The Hotel -

The hotel is essentially 1 grand villa consisting of 8 separate and unique units surrounding an infinity pool overlooking the coast (“sunset view”) and the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, the first national park in Costa Rica. It has 4 different typologies of rooms for your different needs and group sizes. It offers unique accommodation in Santa Teresa for those seeking the service, safety, and privacy of individual hotel rooms, yet the intimacy of a private villa. Reservations can be made for individual hotel rooms or for full hotel rental, depending on what you are looking for.

Although, the area itself is renowned for its consistent surf breaks which some are within walking distance from the property, there are plenty of other attractions that draw guests. These include hiking, yoga, canopy tours, dining, and so much more. We even have our own private ocean view yoga terrace, where we keep mats for private practice. You don’t even need to leave the hotel to enjoy watching wildlife in their natural habitat. Amongst others, you can see howler monkeys, iguanas, and a variety of bird species. Moreover, we have a private access to the restaurant next door that literally steps away and has a spectacular sunset view.

Come and enjoy a relaxing holiday in our jungle home. Where the jungle reaches the sea. Where monkeys can be seen hanging out in trees and eating fresh fruit. Where t-shirts, board shorts, and the optional flip-flops are the official attire. Where televisions are replaced with books and card games. We want our hotel to be your home while your visiting. You will have exclusive access to the bedroom and its private bathroom. Additionally, you will have shared access to all hotel common areas, which include the Infinity Pool and Whirlpool, Sun Deck, Ocean View Yoga Deck, Honor Bar Area and Reception Area.

Where you’ll be

Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica

We are centrally located in Playa Carmen, but situated on a hill above the town, within walking distance to various restaurants and commerce; the closest grocery store is less than a 5 minute walk away and the closest beach access is a 5 minute walk. Also we are a 10 minute walk to the 3 ATMs and 2 banks in town.

During my University years I got the travel bug after studying a semester in Australia. The desire to experience other cultures would eventually lead me to Thailand, where I ended living for 6 years, mainly working in the diving industry. From there I moved to Playa Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, where I currently live and own a boutique hotel with my Portuguese husband, whom I met in Thailand.

Like any good Midwesterner, I love Pizza, Cheese Curds and spending summers at the lake. My favorite ways to spend my free time are practicing yoga, going for beach walks with my dogs or just enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset.

I consider myself a kind-hearted caring individual that looks out for others. I try to help in any way possible and I am always looking out for my family and guests. I love to be sociable and I find that meeting new people makes life more interesting, which is why I became an Airbnb host.
