"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

Apartment Grutto is located on the 1st floor and can accommodate up to 4 people, with living room/kitchen with sofa bed, separate bedroom and bathroom. The towns of Hoorn and Enkhuizen have terraces and eateries. With beautiful cycling and hiking routes in the area. Nice terraces and eateries. Kitesurfing spot 10 minutes' drive away. Keukenhof 55 minutes by car. 3 minutes by car to Westwoud golf course. New!! Veranda with stove overlooking the garden and meadows. Completely private!

Enjoy the tranquility, the beautiful Frisian landscape and also great water sports? All this is possible in this beautiful and complete water studio! On the edge of the beautiful village of Heeg and in the heart of the water sports area of Friesland is this harbor house. Complete and furnished for 4 people. You can relax in the cottage with lots of light and the sun-drenched garden with the late evening sun. There are 2 terraces, one on the water with a lovely lounge sofa. Our house on the Koggeplaet in Elahuizen has a beautiful unobstructed view over de Fluessen, with a lake terrace. Also there is a terrace on the harbor and a sheltered seating area! Our house is in the middle of the water sports area of Friesland. A beautiful place for boating, swimming, cycling, hiking or skating! Golf course and forest are nearby! In June, July, August, and September, we rent our house per week/several weeks. Arrival and departure on Friday. Other wishes? Please let us know!

Huge windows provide stunning Dutch views onto the river, the grass meadows with cows & sheep and a picturesque village in the distance. The river is quiet water so have a sauna & a swim, take out the kayak, big canoe or SUPboard. Ideal stay to stay with children. In a quiet place in the park with 400 m2 of private land. A games room for the little ones and games for young and old. Watch a DVD on a rainy day. In the summer, there are plenty of facilities in the park, such as a bouncy cushion, swimming beach and playground equipment. Animation during school holidays from the north. Nice villages within 5 km such as Langweer and Joure. You are at the edge of the forest with hiking trails and a golf course.

Wooden nature house with a view. Close to lake.

Here in the quiet Frisian Rohel, you can really be outside, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin. Cycling and walking along the meadows and (cold) swimming in the Tjeukemeer. Drink a glass of wine on the terrace by the water, with the view of infinity, under the old fruit trees in the garden. Apart from the sounds of birds, the rustling of the wind and in the distance a tractor, you hear nothing at all here. The sunsets can be amazingly beautiful here.
