Grandad built this for use as a betting office in the early 60's, he was the only known bookie anywhere near the village and could tell us all few tales from his customers who spent all day there smoking and spending. Then in 90's it got converted to an old fashioned hairdresses (purple rinses and perms) and been unused for many years until now. Ridings Cottage is attached to the owners historic, victorian home with connections to the Bronte sisters. It is self contained with one spacious bedroom which has a very comfortable double bed and a pull out sofa bed. We are close to Dewsbury Hospital with easy access to Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield. M1 and M62 motorway links. We have made the cottage as comfortable as possible to ensure you enjoy your stay.
