“We couldn’t have been happier with the house. Everything was easy and convenient, from booking to check-in/check-out. The house was clean and modern while still comfortable and inviting in every way. It was also huge and perfect for our large group. We had 4 families (8 children and 8 adults) and still had extra bedrooms that weren’t used. We could have accommodated at least 2 more families. The large kitchen was well stocked and the table was big enough for everyone to sit down and enjoy meals together. We loved having 2 stoves, 2 fridges and 2 dishwashers. They really thought of everything. All you need to bring is the food. There were also plenty of linens and towels, board games and a game room for the kids, and tons of space for the adults to relax and spread out. And, the mountain views were amazing. We’re hoping to make this an annual event!”
The farmhouse was built in the 1930s. Recently renovated, it retains its period charm. There is a large fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, living room with sofa bed and woodstove, and upstairs, three bedrooms and full bathroom. There is another bedroom with private sitting area and private bath available by arrangement. There is an extra charge. Floors are all narrow hardwood. From the large screened-in porch on back, you can sip morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the mountain.
“It was truly an amazing experience to stay in the historic farm house on Larson Farm. They are dedicated to sustainable and organic practices / land management and it shows. We ate out of the farm store attached to the house most days. The animals all around us were so fun for my daughter to interact with - she loved being a farm girl! The surrounding mountains are a beautiful and dramatic backdrop for this unique place. It was great that it was dog friendly too - make sure they're on a leash since there are farm animals all around! We felt so lucky to have this experience, especially at such a stressful time for the world - it was a great escape!”
Sykes Hollow Farm is a peaceful, private, happy place on a dirt road. Close to Dorset and Manchester and all their accompanying activities. We are a farm for retired horses in the gorgeous Mettowee Valley. Fields, mountains and a pond are all here in addition to the horses and chickens! Good for couples and solo travelers who want to experience an amazingly beautiful farm setting! More than just a room... an open door to an authentic New England farm experience!
“I highly recommend Pam’s place! My wife and I had such a relaxing time and really got to make the most of the property and the amenities. The small touches and details were so thoughtful and genuine. Our favorite part was, by far, the star gazing and the hike that she recommended to us, magical! Also the sandwiches from the local spot she suggested were so delicious! We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. Also, don’t forget to meet the horses, they were so gentle and kind. Overall, we highly recommend staying here.”
