Experience the beautiful Adirondacks in a rustic, yet cozy cabin. Dragonfly and River Rat are located on 9 private acres situated along the bank of the Oswegatchie River. There are only 3 cabins on the property, rent the 2 and bring the whole family or just rent 1 and still feel like your secluded. We stay in the 3rd cabin for the season. We can provide you with a personal experience to include family dinners, movie nights under the stars, arts & crafts, and even guided fishing trips.
“Such an awesome weekend trip here. The River Rat was the perfect getaway for my boyfriend, our dog and I. We loved hanging around the cabin, going on a kayak and playing the yard games they had available. The place is very clean and has everything that you’ll need to be comfortable. Make sure to read the book inside the cabin with suggestions of things to do around the area from other travelers. We got lots of great tips.”

The dock is perfect for sunbathing and relaxing, and great fishing! A private boat launch is available with advanced dock reservations, plus with easy walk-in access for those bringing personal canoes & kayaks. The owners take extra precautionary measures to keep you safe by following CDC recommended cleaning & sanitizing protocol. No pets, please.
“This cottage is a vintage 40’s construction, nicely decorated with modern amenities including WIFI. Its very quiet with a great view of the river, Canada and the seaway. The cottage has a comfortable couch/hide-a-bed and a great rocking chair. I have to say the bed is extra comfortable. The enclosed porch is large with a great view and has a table and chairs for lunch/dinner. Porch also has a wicker sofa and chairs for just enjoying the river. The porch is in the shade for most of the day and the breeze generally blows ashore. The cottage is 20 ft from the shoreline with a long large dock to sit on if you wish...... I’m planning to be back next year....”
Quiet, very rural cottage retreat. Sounds of nature, overlooking the river in a setting perfect for reflection, relaxation and unwinding. The property is located on 350 acres of land, surrounded by NY State forest. Within walking distance is the main house which will sleep 12 people. Easy access to the river, swimming, kayaking, bike paths, walking trails and nature. A small cabin comes with this property, perfect for writing, reflecting, painting or reading. Solitude and rejuvination.
“Lauren & Ray’s place was very quiet and very relaxing. The fall is a beautiful time to be at their place. Cool days, toasty warm fires at night! Pretty fall foliage! Just what we wanted. There is no tv, no internet and very limited cell service so one can become unplugged very easily. The deck was perfect for early mornings wrapped in a blanket drinking coffee and watching the sunrise. Lauren & Ray were great hosts! Very responsive to anything we needed. They knew we had flight delays and would be getting there after 1 a.m. our first night so they bought groceries so we’d have something to eat that morning for breakfast. Lauren also made us a delicious blueberry (from her garden) cobbler one day. It was yummy! The cabin is about 15 minutes from the nearest town with a grocery store. We just made sure that we stopped to pick up things before heading back to the cabin each night. We didn’t get to enjoy it much during the day because of our commitments away from the cabin but enjoyed a fire in the wood stove every night. There are a lot of stairs getting into the cabin so if you have difficulty doing stairs this could be a real challenge for you. Also, there is only one bathroom and it is upstairs. There is no washer & dryer. We were there 12 days so we had to go to a laundromat. Not a big deal though. This cabin turned out to be the best place for us. It felt homey and very comfortable. We will keep this cabin on our list of ‘good ones to return to’.”
