Gulkana River Ranch Bed and Breakfast

Our place is right on The Gulkana River. You’ll love our sauna, skiing, and 77-acre homestead. We are off the grid (no electricity), but have a sink, wood stove (we start for you), clean outhouse (no indoor toilet) and plenty of water that we haul for you. Outdoor shower is very rustic. Gulkana River Ranch is a haven for those wishing to be close to nature and experience bush Alaska as it used to be. Mod cons quite limited: Instagram-worthy photos plentiful:) Adventure awaits the hearty soul!

We are just across the Copper River from the Wrangell/St. Elias National Park. The Copper River is within walking distance. Both the Gulkana and the Klutina Rivers are about 15 miles away. Great location for skiing/hiking Thompson pass or cross country skiing/hiking trails around the property. Nicely furnished rustic cabin nestled among large spruce trees. Located approximately 3/4 mile from the Gulkana River(12 miles north of Glennallen). Cabin is also located just 8 miles from Gakona/Copper River. Beautiful views of the magnificent Wrangell Mountains abound in the area. Guests arriving before May 1 must bring water, some firewood and access may be difficult due to snow and a sled may be required for part of the 1/3 mile distance from the highway before May 1st.

Close to the road, yet out of sight in it's own quiet wood, it is also ideally located 2 minutes away from a convenience store/gas station/laundromat. This is a perfect location for a several day home base to explore the Copper Basin, Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Valdez. With a fully equipped kitchen, a kid corner and good reads, you will feel right at home.

Dry Off-Grid Cozy Cabin. Please read description.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located studio cabin. Half-way between Anchorage and Valdez. Near Wrangell St Elias park and world class fishing. A dry cabin with drinking water provided and an outhouse on the site. Please note there is no electricity. There is a fine for smoking/vaping in cabin. Mosquitoes are out of my control. There is a 3 gallon jug of drinking water and a propane tank for the BBQ provided.
