“This is a serenely comfortable place to go if you are looking for a retreat from the clatter of everyday life. My wife and I got a lot of reading done here in between visits to Cooperstown. It is an old but gracefully aging home, spacious, with wide plank floors, a luxurious king size bed and a little front porch where you can sit and talk and perhaps enjoy a glass of wine in the quiet of an evening. It was a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we highly recommend it.”

“A gem. We stayed here for a month and were sad to leave. Excellent property nestled in a private area surrounded by trees with neighbors far off only on one side. Great deck and grill. Comfy beds. Stocked with cookware in kitchen. Also proximity to main street and the lake was perfect. A five minute drive or short bike ride. Short drive to several breweries and restaurants. Our host Dave was very helpful and fast to communicate with. We will be back at some point !”
This brand new country farmhouse overlooks Oaks Creek with stunning rural views, yet is only 2.5 miles from Cooperstown. A cathedral ceiling first floor, open floor plan kitchen and common area (with gas fireplace and flatscreen TV) adjoins a full bath with tiled shower and two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The upstairs loft boasts a queen bed, day bed, and writing desk. Downstairs you will enjoy our slate-bed billiards table, X-box, and full bath. Beautifully appointed!
“Our family loved guest house and would highly recommend staying there! It's beautifully designed and furnished, and we loved the open floor plan, which made spending time together on the main floor very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the porch and in the large yard as well. The small details, like a desk and chair for a laptop space, looking out of the house, and build in dresser in the loft, were much appreciated. The guest house was very clean, which made us feel safe since we visited in July 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. If your party will not be waking up or going to bed at the same time, just note that sound really travels from the loft to the main floor. This wasn't an issue for us, and sound from the basement (where the pool table, tv and large hang out space, as well as entry to the yard/fire pit are) is separate. If you are particular about how tap water tastes, you might want to consider bringing bottled water. The creek was good for fishing, and there are fishing poles at the house, but the banks are steep, so wading was a bit difficult. If you are looking to wade or swim, plan on making the 20 min drive to visit Glimmerglass State Park, which has a number of amenities: concessions, playground, restrooms, picnic area, as well as the beach and swimming. It was a short drive to explore Cooperstown which was a lot of fun for our family! Marcy was very responsive, and her husband, Bob, came over to welcome us when we arrived, and they were quick to share local recommendations and provide instructions for the grill and answer other questions. Overall, we had a great experience and know you will enjoy your stay as well!”
