“Where do I even begin? Our stay at Nick's place was superb. Not only was the home better than expected but Nick as a host is delightful to chat with and beyond helpful when we needed it. He even helped us change the battery in our faulty rental car. I cannot even begin to express how grateful we were to have him as our host. Our group of 10 with 3 dogs found this place to feel like a home away from home. The pets had plenty of playtime in the yard while we as a group spent most of our time in the red room aka the kitchen. If you plan on cooking during your stay let me just say that you'll have everything you need cookware and utensil wise. Plenty of pots, pans, baking sheets, mixing bowls. One night we even grilled pork-chops over the fire pit outside. We enjoyed movie nights in the blue room where there was plenty of classics on VHS as well as an hdmi cord with extensions to connect a laptop. The music room is fantastic. A few of us play piano, drums, etc and we entertained ourselves with jam sessions and "piano bar" nights. The billiards room was perfect for those of us who like to shoot stick. If you find yourself in need of provisions, the small town of Hancock is only about 5 minutes down the road. You'll find a walgreens, supermarket, liquor store, and even an auto parts shop where we got our replacement battery. There are also plenty of hiking trails that are just a short drive away that can be found with a quick google search. Let me say that the pictures of this place don't do it justice as it is a delight for all the senses. Sunlight filling the individual rooms during the day, the smokey scent of a fire burning in the wood stoves at night. The sound of two streams encompassing the property making its way through an open window as you relax on the cozy moss green velvet couch you'll find in the blue room. If all you end up doing on your trip is relaxing, this home will be perfect to do just that.”
If your goal is to swap the craziness of the city with the pure tranquility and sheer beauty of Nature, then our spot is just the place for you. Nestled right on the banks of the majestic East branch of the Delaware River - in Catskills country!
“We had an incredible one week stay at Sam’s lovely home. The location is sublimely beautiful and it was exactly the kind of getaway we were hoping for. My partner and I have stayed in Airbnb’s all over the world and we both agreed that this was probably the best experience we’ve had even though it was not perfect (e.g. the windows need a thorough washing and some of the dishes and utensils were not fully cleaned). So why was this our best Airbnb rental? First, the views are unbeatable — waking up to the gorgeous sight of the river from the bedroom was divine.. there are also two decks (one off the second floor master bedroom and one on the main level) from which you can enjoy the river views. The house itself is large, stylish and cozy. The home is surrounded by mountains and the gardens are beautifully landscaped. We enjoyed the fire pit and the Weber (charcoal) grill on the deck.. Our week was filled with relaxation, kayaking, swimming, roasting s’mores and eating al fresco on the deck and picnicking on the lawn. We also enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the sauna! Come in June to enjoy the magical experience of being surrounded by countless fireflies under the stars.. The bed was not luxurious but it was comfortable enough (memory foam mattress topper on a box spring). We slept well each night. Yes, without an A/C, it got pretty hot on days when the temps exceeded 80 — the ceiling fans helped just a bit. But we were so delighted with our stay that we inquired about another booking before we left. Note that there are a number of additional fees, so plan accordingly. We paid a $50 pet fee for our cat, $50 fee for firewood (way more than we could use in one week) and additional fees for garbage removal. The manager (Candy) is very kind and helpful — she also arranged kayak rentals. Make sure you bring river shoes — the water is very muddy near the bank, but clear, clean and wonderful to navigate after you make your way in.”
This Catskills gem features a stone fireplace and a wall of windows right on the east branch of the Delaware River. Spend the weekend hiking, fishing, kayaking, antiquing, bird watching, visiting a camp site, brewery hopping or simply sipping wine in a old wing back chair by the fire. If you're looking to ease your soul with a little rest and relaxation, look no further. Book the trip... you deserve it.
“Tiffany's home is the perfect cozy getaway, it is beautifully appointed with so many thoughtful touches. We enjoyed sitting by the indoor fireplace watching classic movies from her entire closet of DVDs. Seriously, 1000+ movie collection of new and old classics. There were also plenty of board games and puzzles to keep us preoccupied if we weren't out on the patio or lawn enjoying the grill or just sunbathing. The house is situation right next to the fork of 2 rivers, so felt really private even though her neighbors were located near the back of the house. We even saw some wildlife during our stay: a beaver, woodpecker, and tons of birds. Really enjoyed our stay!”
