Our Cabin is situated on a hill overlooking Drake's Bay on the Osa Peninsula of the Pacific Coast of Southern Costa Rica. The Cabin has one of the most spectacular views in Drake's Bay. We are located just 200 meters from the ocean
“Our stay was amazing, the room was very clean, safe, and with an amazing view. The beds were comfy and we slept well. Eric was very nice and welcoming, and helpful with local tips and sharing his passion on Costa Rica. He organized our shuttle to Sierpe to catch the boat to Drake Bay, and he arranged a ride to the local airport at the end of our visit. Eric also organized the tours for us - day trip to Sirena station in Corcovado National Park, a snorkeling tour at Cano Island, and a horseback ride along and in a local river to a sweet waterfall for a swim, all of which were awesome! Please note that there is no ATM in Drake, so it's good to bring cash for things not readily available via debit/credit machine. Overall, a great stay. Highly recommend, and would do it all again in a heartbeat:)”
What we offer in our lodging: We are located very close to the town of Bahia Drake, and the beach, as well as the path to enjoy a walk along the coast. Each cabin is equipped for 4 guests, comfortably equipped with 1 double bed and a bunk bed, private bathroom, electric cooker, refrigerator, dining room and chairs. A / C, balcony, and lots of natural light. Free WIFI. There is also a beautiful garden and fruit trees nearby.
“Wonderful! I would give the Tico-Gringo cabins more than 5 stars if I could. The cabins are located in a peaceful setting, with many towering tropical plants and flowering bushes. Sitting on the balcony, I saw so many colourful butterflies and birds, including toucans and parrots, as well as little white-faced monkeys. Gringo even puts fruit out in front of one of the cabins to attract the birds for you. The location is great, with around a ten-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, and a five-minute walk to the nearest market. The rooms in the cabins are large, bright and clean, with well-equipped kitchens. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly all the time. Best of all are the hosts, Sonia and Yeiner (known as Gringo). They live on the property so are always there to help you. They are generous, kind and friendly. Sonia keeps your room clean, replacing towels and bedding regularly. Watch for her artistic touches. Gringo will help you organize tours, recommend restaurants and suggest hikes that are not so well known. They make sure you always have a big container of fresh drinking water. Staying at Tico-Gringo made my vacation extra special, and I would definitely stay there again.”
Casa Claro del Bosque is located a few steps from the beach, in Las Caletas area of Drake Bay, away from the main town (~4 km) known as Agujitas. Las Caletas area is magic and mystic, where miles of solitary pristine beaches and rainforest meet to make a delightful relaxing place to explore and live nature. This home suits those who want to reconnect with nature, adventure-minded, outdoors seekers, nature lovers, and those who look for a remote vacation spot, without crowded beaches.
“If you are looking for a unique and memorable experience in a more remote area of Costa Rica - this is it! Our experience staying at Familia Riba de La Ossa’s place absolutely exceeded expectations. The beach house is incredible. Be prepared for open windows (no glass) and enjoy the beautiful tranquility of the tropical rainforest which is located very close to the beautiful beaches. Its remote location means you need to make sure you load up on groceries and supplies as stores and other amenities are not close by but that’s what makes this location so special. It is best designed for those that love to walk as their beautiful place is located along the coastal path that stretches for miles where you can explore beautiful beaches and the dense tropical rainforest: home of white-faced monkeys and many other wildlife. Their hospitality is outstanding and so helpful with local tips. Be sure to get to Corcovado National Park and don’t miss out on the zip lining that can all be arranged by this wonderful host. You do not need a car here as the roads are pretty rough but a driver can be arranged for transport from the airport and in and out of Drake Bay. Can’t say enough about our stay here.”
