Inviting retreat for a peaceful getaway.
“The room we stayed in was amazingly decorated and super tidy. Not only was the room amazing, but the location is filled with history and old artifacts to take a look at. Our electricity went out due to the weather but even then our stay was wonderful. Will definitely return for another weekend getaway!”

“Eric & Alice provided such a warm, welcoming, and super clean cabin. Being someone who loves to cook, I greatly appreciated the equipped kitchen with everything one would need to cook a nice meal. The surroundings were so relaxing and peaceful and I enjoyed the country; a nice change of pace from Austin. I also appreciated Alice meeting me at the cabin. It was a nice personal touch. I found some remote, beautiful hiking trails for hiking enthusiasts like myself. Absolutely lovely. I plan on coming back with my boyfriend just to spend a couple days exploring the many trails. I drove to Lufkin, about 35 minutes, for beer at Angeline Brewery and dinner at Restoration Bistro. Yummy. I had lunch in Crockett on the way into Kennard at Rosemary's Hilltop Cafe and the fried chicken was amazing!! Just skip the pie. I highly recommend this place.”

“Beautiful, nicely furnished cabin on the water. Great landscaping and decor. Everything is well maintained and clean. We enjoyed about 4 hours on the private shooting range. This time we shot pistols and rifles - next time maybe we'll try the private skeet range on the property. We didn't fish, but they offered us use of a small boat with trolling motor and fishing equipment. We spent a cool night out by the fire, loaded with wood and fire starter by Connie and Bill. We drank the bottle of wine the hosts left us - plus a little more. The wife, who was hesitant about a gun range and a cabin in the woods, quickly fell in love with the place. This cabin is like having your own private resort. Private cabin, private lake, private gun range, and more. All done with taste and expertise. We were only on-site for 2 hours before my wife asked when would be a good time to come back. We hope it will be soon.”
