If desired, we are delighted to guide you through the house and share with you almost 200 years of our home's rich history. Roam freely through our 120 acres of gardens, farmland and woodlands, or enjoy a guided tour of our grounds and learn of present day efforts to transform our land into a nature reserve.

Charming 15th Century Castle

Built in the late 1400s, Grantstown Castle has been lovingly restored and mixes medieval architecture with modern comforts. The Castle Is Rented In Its Entirety And Caters For Up To Seven Guests. The castle is comprised of six floors, connected via a stone and oak spiral staircase. There are three double bedrooms and one single. The castle has great battlements which are accessible at the top of the staircase and host amazing views of the surrounding countryside.

Set in the Slieve Blooms Mountains a real get away from it all, wake up to birdsong and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. Surrounded by fields, trees there's plenty to do for an outdoor break. Slieve Bloom Bike trails and hiking tracks all within minutes. Portlaoise, Tullamore and Roscrea 30 minute drive. Kilkenny under an hour. Ideal base for biking or walking groups to explore the area. Great location base for touring Ireland.

Situated 2 min from Exit 23 off the M7 Motorway on the outskirts of the village of Moneygall where the pub and shop are within walking distance. It provides a wonderful base for exploring the heart of the country while also allowing further journeys to some iconic tourist sites.
