The local village is Ballinspittle, which offers all the basics and a few surprises.

An entire terraced house in a quiet residential area yet only 1.6 kilometres (1 mile !) uphill (sometimes steep !!) from the city centre (and all its attractions !). The 207 and 208 buses run frequently to and from downtown to a bus stop near the house - a 3 minute walk away (160 metres). Taxis are €6 - €10. The main bedroom has a double (queen) bed. We have been voted as one of Ireland’s top 50 places to stay by the Irish Independent #Fab50 ( number 26 :)) We spent two years renovating this 200 year old building. In May 2020, it featured on RTE Home of the year and became a finalist in the top 7 homes in Ireland. Irish lights built all 76 lighthouses & keepers houses in Ireland, and this is the only lighthouse keepers house in a town in Ireland!

The houses were built in 1850 for the naval officers based in Queenstown, as it was known then.
