“This space is so much more than expected!! The swimming hole is super sweet and rite at the property. The grounds here are beautiful. The gardens and lay out make it feel like a little oasis of peace and tranquility. The jacuzzi tub is best axcessed through the bedroom. The well lit and beautiful slate slab path takes u there. The ambiance of the Woods makes it a super special experience. The house lay out is unique and very cozy. Kitchen is well equipped with Essentials for basic meal prep. We never ate out once! Very much a rustic farm house feel with the charm of the history of this house. I can't say enough good things about this space and the host!! He is always ready to accomodate to the best of his abilities. Close to town but far enough away from the rest of the world to forget about it. Book this place ! You will love IT!”

“Ilja and Julius’ place was fantastic. Their hospitality was unmatched and the space is very thoughtfully designed with tons of art and interesting artifacts. It was a bummer not to be able to use the indoor shared common areas (out of an abundance of caution for safety), but otherwise everything was great. Our son loved feeding the pond fish, and I especially enjoyed a relaxing hour in the immense backyard, reading with nothing but nature and my thoughts to disturb me. I think what was especially nice is that despite the house’s grand status (and similarly old age), they were committed to improvement projects to maintain it. Julius spent a day repainting the front deck, and when I told him wasps had taken up residence in the children’s treehouse, he seemed sincerely concerned and vowed to get it taken care of. The only qualm we had was our teeny tiny standup shower in what was otherwise a huge room. Aside from that, it was super close to downtown Hudson, and a delightful respite from the world.”
“This is the quintessential airbnb experience: great living space, nature, and art." (excerpt from guest's review) *During COVID I am only hosting individuals or people who live together. I am also only accepting reservations up to ONE MONTH in advance. Since it’s impossible to know if we will have another lock-down. Thanks for your understanding. Federal holidays require a 3-night stay.
“We talked on the way home about Airbnbs we've stayed at in the past, and we both agreed that David's is the most special because it's right at the intersection of perfect space and wonderful host. The flat itself is impeccably clean (very important in the time of COVID), features super chic decor and boasts all the perks you'd hope for; however, the view is obviously the best part. Pulling up a couple of chairs and enjoying the beauty of the cliffs on David's property was the perfect way to spend our evenings. The walk to Main Street takes all of five minutes, and you'll find lots of sweet shops and eateries. The trailhead to Joppenbergh Mountain is also just off Main Street, and the easy hike is worth the stellar views of the Rosendale Trestle! Access to the Trestle itself is also just five minutes from David's home and provides access to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, which we walked into New Paltz for brunch. Bikes were available for rent about 10 minutes into the trail if that's your speed. David is knowledgable, accessible, funny and kind. We've had some lovely Airbnb hosts in the past, but we hadn't before felt so welcomed into such a warm space. We left Rosendale with lighter hearts thanks to a renewed appreciation for the outdoors and our good conversations with David!”
